My gut feeling is that Jeep will be coming out with a factory option similar to this in the near future. Jeep has already responded to the impact the Bronco has made on the market, and a much better infotainment center is a no-brainer!
Bronco is a game changer...dozens of Jeep engineers are working furiously now to catch up...
@@robertallen6710 I hope you are correct, but, from what I'm seeing Jeep may stay true to what they have always done.....and done well. Jeep still has an edge over the Bronco strictly offroad. But the Bronco certainly is a better allrounder. I hope Jeep upgrades a few things, but my gut is starting to tell me that they might just do minor things to not upset their very well-established fan base.

@@sixone2256 I got a 2022 Ford F150 and Ford keeps everything updated. I've had the truck about a year now and I've received at least 10 updates. Everything runs great and although I really want another Jeep, they seem to be falling far behind everyone else right now.
I can really appreciate how some people understand wiring. Very cool. Looks clean.

With the dash configuration being almost identical i would imagine this upgrade would also work with the gladiator
Final product does look stock, but it also just looks like a big screen for the sake of being a big screen. After the wow factor wears off of having a giant screen, I am unsure I'd feel that excited. Curious how well the wireless carplay works on this unit. I havent found a unit that consistently worked, and that goes from aftermarket to OEM. I just revert to plug in for the consistency.

I don't like losing air-conditioning controls. I don't think it would survive the rain 😂

Thanks for saying this. Been so disappointed with the wireless CarPlay on my wife’s VW TRoc I honestly just thought it’s a glitch with the particular car in question. It swaps between paired devices without provocation and even if there’s just the one paired device it will disconnect for no reason at all.
Neat idea. Nothing I'm in to. Its most likely not water resistant, in a vehicle where the roof comes off, not a good idea.
I've been caught in the rain twice with the roof off in my JL. And everything still works as it should.

Can the Tesla Screen be added to an older jeep Wrangler?
You can download any launcher app and set it as your default.. ex: Android auto
Why did you speed through the wiring part, kinda needed to watch that. You never discussed the OBD II attachment and what its used for.
Not sure if you have done this or not, but that JLU needs a spring leveling kit. That heavy bumper makes it dip way down and if you fix it the front end won’t feel so heavy while driving especially during turns.
Bought it for my 2021 jlu I have 0 regrets most people always think it's oem....but my oem was tiny lil 5 inch screen...it had to go

Bought this exact same one. I have 3 issues, android auto doesn't work, USB ports don't work and Reverse Camera doesn't work. What do I do?
I just bought a Jeep and I’m thinking about buying a Tesla screen. After about 6 months do you still recommend that version you bought?
Cars today have so many gadgets and doohickeys that the driver can be overwhelmed. I have a five-year-old Mazda CX-5 and I still don't know how to use some of the devices it contains. And, of course, the more gadgets, the greater the likelihood some will cease functioning and require repair or replacement. My GPS, for example, provides out-of-date on speed limits and road closures. And my heated seats stopped functioning two years ago. I am making do without the luxury of having my butt hot while driving.
They sell the aftermarket back up camera to replace the stock on ... i ordered one for my silverado its very clear ....
Yeah hard pass. These "tesla" screen radios usually over time become infested with bugs but it sure does look rral nice.

I’ve installed two similar screens on two different vehicles and they do look cool, better looking than stock radio especially on a base model of an older vehicle without a touch screen but the useless built in apps don’t work. Only the navigation app is useful but still doesn’t work well adding addresses. Then sound (he forgot to mention) is horrible, these units don’t have a built in amplifier like the FACTORY/stock unit so you hardly get any base.
The Bluetooth/wireless audio on the microphone is horrible if talking on your phone via the Bluetooth on radio speakers.
*Please update your experience after 2 weeks of living with this gimmick of a tablet. I ended up taking these aftermarket touchscreen radios out of my vehicles and replaced with the original stock radio. Bought a smaller screen that glued onto the dash with Apple car play/android and other useful features that’s not directly connected to the car.
Can you connect a cargo cam to this screen? (Front camera like in the uconnect 8.4)

I just installed a Stinger Heigh10 in my Wrangler, and it was much more complicated to do all the wiring. Surely this chinese screen loses a bunch of OEM features, to be that simple with so few connections? e.g. steering wheel controls, XM etc. The Stinger is a more well thought through interface of course, with all sorts of gauges etc.
Seemed like an easy install compared to some screens but not looking for yet one more computer to comlicate my life!. Additionally, if the jeep is under warranty i wonder if u have a AC / heat issue if they will break chops as jeeps controls are eliminated

I would much rather prefer just the 8.4" factory jeep screen. It fits perfect, the quality is outstanding and anyone can swap it.

Just ordered this last week. Hoping it comes in soon. Did you have any compatibility issues with the factory infotainment system? Some systems require serial number integration to make the new system compatible.... usually done through the dealer. Did you run into that at all or was it true plug and play? Thanks!
I'm curious why you went with this unit in 2021? It still runs android 9.0 (non upgradeable) when aliexpress has similar units with android 11 (latest version) for the same price if not a little less

For me the only way of seeing this being worth is it being water proof, dirt resistant, and there be a way to get uv protection for it now let’s see if the video says that

shame I wish they made one that size that mirrored the factory head unit. With my loaded 8.4 and all the options it looks like you have to hunt to find the heated seat buttons and to adjust temps.

I don’t like that it requires removing the push buttons for A/C and such. I prefer my Stinger HEIGH10. Doesn’t remove any OEM features. My only complaint is the screen doesn’t look as full with color as OEM. It’s like the contrast is off. I haven’t seen any aftermarket that compares with OEM yet, though.

I was contemplating the Heigh10 to replace my 8.4”. But based on your review, doesn’t sound like you would do it again?
The insane audio one is pretty close and keeps the HD backup cam
The alpine 9” is the best aftermarket you can get for the jeep screen is high definition. All OEM features are present. There is no comparison. They also make a smaller version. That is 7 inch. It’s much cheaper.
Any word on an update to the firmware
That's the thing with most things Android, too much bloatware and they just SUCK at UIs. Say what you will about Apple, but they keep it simple and nice.
I added CarPlay to the factory Navigation on my 2011 Honda using NavTool. Its not a touchscreen so I use the factory navigation controls to use CarPlay. Its working great, the only downfall is that I have to run audio thru the Aux input and the unit def has a low audio signal, so I lose some volume when using CarPlay. If I plug my iPhone directly to the factory USB input, it's just sounds so much better. So now I have to figure out how to amplify the audio signal coming from the CarPlay interface. NavTool has new interfaces that are digital audio, but not really trying to spend that much more money right now.
