The thickness is not an issue for me. It wears comfortably on wrist and has nice wrist presence. Anyone who judges the thickness and doesn’t own one, can not be taken seriously.
I own a BB GMT with the pepsi dial. I had it for a month and never was concerned about the thickness, but then I watched some youtubers and was told it is too thick. I think it is just fine, the thickness does not bother me and I will not be swayed by the nay sayers. I think if you like the Pro you should get it.
I sold mine - it was uncomfortable over time / overly heavy. Might have been a keeper if it had a Tfit to adjust. It is too thick, it grates on you after a while. I have an Explorer 2 now, it’s amazing in large part because it’s very slim, easily fitting under dress shirt, and lighter than the BB GMT too.
I heard so much about the supposed thickness of this watch. When I finally got to see it in person, I was surprised that it actually sits very nicely on the wrist and it really doesn't look thick at all. Immediate purchased it and couldn't be happier. Sure, it is heavier and more substantial than my BB58 but it is by no means a big watch. For anybody who is interested in this piece, do yourself a service and go see it in person, the thickness issue is totally overblown. Like correctly mentioned in this video, Omegas with Co-Axial movement are as thick and I feel they don't even sit as nicely on the wrist, depending on model.
I own the same one and absolutely love it as my one watch collection. The thickness was never an issue for me, just tried it on and enjoyed. Really like your vids, greetings from Germany.
The thickness is overhyped. I just purchased this watch from a local Tudor AD and I absolutely love it. It has not come off my wrist in a week. I have a 6.75 - 7in wrist and does not wear like a large watch or feel overly thick on wrist. Really gives off a pure tool watch vibe not unlike the RLX Explorer II.
I own it, I'm a skinny guy, the watch doesn't feel heavy. I don't mind the thickness, but man, that yellow GMT till this day haunts me! It ruins the legibility even though the watch is monochromatic! Sometimes I just want to take the watchmaker and make it removed. Could have been done way cleaner or with a bigger contrast like you mentioned. Orange would probably do the job. Almost a perfect watch. I'm strongly considering selling and getting Zenith Pilot 2023.
Yes I am also not a big fan of the yellow GMT hand's colour. I could live with it though. I think they were trying to stay faithful to those first 1655 Rolex models. That Zenith is very nice.
I own both, the BB 58 navy blue and the BB pro. I wasn’t sure if the Pro is the watch for me. Maybe my BB 58 becomes opsolete and with way less wrist time? In the end, I love both watches and wear them both alternately. Both watches will stay in the collection but the Omega Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra had to leave because of lack of wrist time.
I’ve had a BB Pro for almost a year until I sold it. I know most people quickly comment on the thickness of the watch. I was fine with it, but what really led me to sell it was the movement weight and how top heavy the watch because of it. They really marketed as a watch for outdoors, but I ended up wearing my Explorer 36 and Explorer II polar more when I go in my hiking trips. It still is a very handsome and rugged watch that I look for in watches, but that weight really bothered me in the end.
Thanks for the owner perspective. The watch is heavy indeed and the Explorer 36 probably would be more comfortable for activities. Which Polar model do you have?
Personally, I would have thought that a 41mm diameter size would make the watch more balanced & better to look at and better to wear on the wrist. Just my observation 🙂.
surprised you didn't try to compare with your grail 16570. i have the pro and love it. but i recognize how much better the 16570 is in terms of brand, aesthetics, thinness, etc.
I actually did compare them both for myself. Was even thinking to share my thoughts in the separate video. Because in this video I wanted to focus more on the Pro. I think I would have a room for them both in the collection. What is your ownership experience with the BB Pro?
@@OneManReviews I absolutely love it from an case size and aesthetics way. I do think it's a tad thick and a had heavy but not so burdensome like other people do. I've contemplating trading/selling to fund a new explorer 36
Gmt models are my favorite in the brand, gmt pro or also blackbay steel gold gmt, they have skmething more original than the now iconic but little boring black bay too much see who loose interest for me for being so comun
It's a shame that beautiful Tudor models are too thick and/or too wide (pause), preventing most from considering their chronographs and GMTs. If i were in charge of Tudor, I'd make all chrono and GMT models significantly thinner, and reduce the width to 39mm to 40mm (yes, I'm aware the GMT shown here is 39). I'd get rid of the boring yawn fest that is the Tudor Royal, and would bring back the Tudor prince datejust and daydate in 36mm and 39mm. Profits would soar. Tudor would be discussed more often. The community wouldn't just talk about the black bay divers anymore.
I agree with the most of your comment. But I think that Tudor cannot go much thinner yet because they limited by the movements. Another thing I think that Royal is a good model and don't want Tudor to get rid of it. Big yes to the Prince models you mentioned.
I suspect they are engineered to be not too good. They are about half the price of a Rolex at MSRP, need to feel about half the value. Given the designs are just homages, borrowing heavily from parent brand and it's heritage, it's always going to be 80% of what it could be.
@@OneManReviews I’m aware of the limitations of the movements; however, Tudor has the skills and financial resources to engineer thinner movements for their GMTs and chronographs. After all, they produced thinner, smaller MT5XXX calibers. They have slimmed down existing models. The Tudor Royal doesn’t sell. They sit at Tudor ADs and collect dust. Nobody talks about them; nobody wants them. The Tudor Royal line lives in the shadows of the Prince Datejusts and daydates. The Royal therefore needs to be axed. My critique is less about my lack of personal interest and more about, on average, consumers don’t care about the model.
@@gavinwhite9743 there *may* be some truth to your statements. I refuse to accept Tudor is an homage brand; it isn’t. Rolex is Tudor; Tudor is Rolex. Rolex and Tudor’s history and heritage, therefore, is one and the same. Conversely, Rolex and Tudor also have unique, individual heritage and history. The only difference between Rolex and Tudor in the olden days were the movements. Obviously, for better or worse, modern Tudor departed from Wilsdorf’s vision: Tudor was essentially a Rolex watch, but with a generic Swiss movement, effectively making them more affordable. Tudor of today departed too much from the initial, original intent of the brand. And that annoys me; it also annoys diehard Tudor collectors - people that own expensive vintage Tudor. I own Tudor and Rolex. From my perspective and experience, Tudor does a lot of things better than Rolex; likewise, Rolex does some things better than Tudor. Rolex is undoubtedly a better watch, but the quality difference between Rolex and Tudor is narrowing. If the Pelagos 39, for example, was in 316L stainless steel, and they fixed the lume issue with the hands, the Pelagos 39 would give the Submariner a run for its money. Heck, it already does. - Tudor fanboy is done ranting and venting 😩
It wouldn’t be possible to do all that on a Tudor budget, you are trying to build a thin watch like a Rolex. It would cost too much and thus compete with Rolex. Tudor are probably working within constraints of budgets and what Rolex allows them to do.
As someone who likes to be “reminded” that they’re wearing a watch, the weight of the BB Pro feels good. My wrist is just shy of 7”. That is to say, I don’t have large wrists and I’m not a body builder, but I work out three days a week and have an “average” build. What is wrist fatigue? 😂. Is this watch so heavy that some people’s wrists get tired of wearing it? I can understand something being top heavy and that CAN apply to this piece, so my recommendation would be to go try it on in person, but I strongly believe that with the on the fly, adjustable clasp most people will find that perfect fit and will enjoy the heck out of the wearing experience. It’s become my favorite piece. The sunburst bezel is 🤌. The circumference is perfect and the complication makes this such a great value.
The BB Pro is my one watch collection baby and I’ve been loving it ever since I bought it. I think it’ll stay in my collection for many years to come
That's definitely a great "one watch collection" watch.

I like the pro much more than any other Tudor in the catalog, I have it in ruber strap.

why all watches have to be thin? I own one BB pro and is absolutly perfect!
