      I agree. The instructions that came in my box sucked and made no sense because the amateurish drawings they used did not apply to my machine. I almost sent it back for a refund. After watching these videos, now I see why I couldn't get it connected properly. The instructions did not mention removing the short tube used for those not using the humidifier.

    • @DirectHomeMedical

      When using the SoClean 2 with a chamber adapter you simply attach it once and then you can leave the SoClean 2 and your CPAP/BiPAP attached at all times whether you're using the SoClean to clean your device or sleeping with your CPAP/BiPAP.

    2 major inconveniences of this model when comparing to the S9 version:
    - Adding water to the humidifier is not easy because the SoClean hose is attached to it. There is not an internal removable pan to add water
    - The automatic mode of the S10 interferes when the SoClean try to blow ozone thru the hose into the humidifier chamber. As a result, the cleaning is interrupted. You have to set it as manual.

    Excellent video, thank you. A couple of questions though. I have the AirSense 10 with humidifier and heated tubing. Does the water level in the chamber matter when using the SoClean? Or does water have to be removed before using? I am assuming the mask goes into the SoClean with the heated tubing coming out the side? Does the tubing get sanitized in this situation?

However, if you'd like to purchase this adapter here: www.directhomemedical.com/pna1604-23-universal-soclean-adapter.html The Universal SoClean Mask & Tubing Adapter Kit allows you to clean and sanitize masks and tubing without any connection to your CPAP machine. Not sure if this will work for an AirSense 11 as the 11 as two types of reservoir. Further what happens if you do not use the water tub at all and have it removed? maybe a good explanation but really impractical. Hello, the SoClean 2 does not santize your CPAP equipment while your device is in use. After a simple initial setup, SoClean 2 will automatically sanitize your equipment each day so it's clean and ready for you to put on when you go to bed each night. And if you ever want to sanitize your equipment manually -- after a nap or just for extra protection -- it's as easy as the press of a button. Take care.

    • @DirectHomeMedical
      @DirectHomeMedical  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Holden, You no longer use the top part of the water chamber -- because you've taken it off and attached the SoClean adapter -- so it is not cleaned and it is not used. Basically you can put it in a drawer and then bring it back out if you ever need to use it for travel or as a backup. If you do want to sanitize it though you would put it in the SoClean along with your mask! I hope that helps and please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns. Take care, DirectHomeMedical

In rare cases, if you have a BI-PAP or A-PAP machine, a heated hose adapter may be required to ensure proper pressure. The small hose does not act like a leak. Take care.

      Hello, If you have water in your reservoir, the tube needs to be submerged. In order to get the activated oxygen to clean the water. However, you can also run the SoClean without water in the reservoir. Take care.

      The Soclean is designed for daily automatic use. You just place your mask in it each day and close the lid and it will run automatically. Take care!

      Never: ozone degrades plastic, and no CPAP manufacturer lists/recommends such a machine for cleaning. SoClean doesn’t clean anything itself, it may sanitize the outer layer of stuff, but you still need to mechanically clean before it “cleans” as it’s really a warm-fuzzy feeling scam of a product.
      Ask your insurance company if they’ll cover it as a sanity check, they won’t. If it really worked to cut heslth issues and thus be cheaper to cover than not, they’d cover it.

      Hello, you can leave the water in your water chamber however you must make sure the black SoClean hose penetrates the surface of the water. If there is not enough water in the chamber, the SoClean will not sanitize it. Take care.

    Great video. One question. When you replace the humidifier lid with the adapter, how does the original lid get cleaned? Do we keep the new adapter lid in the humidifier permanently? Not quite sure what to do here. The rest of the cPap machine is clean, but that original lid has not run through the process.

    • @DirectHomeMedical
      @DirectHomeMedical  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mary, the adapter lid and the entire SoClean can be left attached to your CPAP at all times so you can just keep the original lid as a backup in case it's needed in the future. Take care!

      For traveling, I would think that a vacuum fitting rubber cap could be pushed on to the plastic tube where you remove the black hose from the SoClean and it should function the same as the original lid. These vacuum caps can be found at any auto parts store. They are called vacuum block off caps and are made of black rubber hose with one end closed (sealed) and the other end open.

    Got some questions, watched the video an it did help on some things.
    When you start the machine an have the water chamber on there, does the water chamber need to be empty when it's used an would the heating unit part or water have an effect on the tube that's hooked inside the lid?
    When the SoClean is running with the water chamber in, does the CPAP need to be on as well or left off?
    Not sure if this has been covered in another video or not, so thought I would ask. If the questions has not been asked or mentioned, then what would the info be on the topic an covered on the ups an downs on it.

      Humidifier preferences vary from person to person and often have a lot to do with overall climate and/or bedroom temperature and humidity levels. In addition many people don't like to use humidifiers when they travel just because of the bulk involved in carrying the humidifier and finding distilled water. Take care!

      Hello, It is important to use SoClean 2 Neutralizing Pre-Wash (or a similar fragrance-free, dye-free dish soap) to hand wash your CPAP equipment -- mask, headgear, tubing and humidifier -- before you connect it to your SoClean 2 for the first time. In addition SoClean 2 Pre-Wash should be used whenever you hand wash your CPAP/BiPAP equipment, and to clean any new masks, tubing or chambers before attaching them to the SoClean 2 device. Take care.

      Derek, When using an oxygen bleed with CPAP or BiPAP you should remove the oxygen tube and cap the outlet prior to using the SoClean device. Most people do this automatically each morning when they wake up because of switching to a cannula rather than a CPAP mask. Take care!

      Hello, at this time SoClean does not make a specific adapter for the AirSense 11. It is especially useful for people who have multiple masks and tubes that they need to sanitize; and for people who love the benefits of SoClean Sanitizers; but have concerns about using SoClean to sanitize the internal parts of their sleep therapy device. Take care.

    I am awaiting delivery of my SoClean2. I have a ResMed AirSense 10 but I use regular tubing with nasal pillows. I think this video will be very helpful in getting mine setup once it arrives but I was left with a few questions regarding what to do with my mask and tubing. Do I understand from this video that once I replace the gasket/lid on the water chamber, when I am ready to actually begin a cleaning session, I also place my mask and tubing inside the lid of the SoClean machine, intact and not dismantled? This video is great for showing me how to deal with the water chamber but I was left wondering what to do with the mask and tubing. Can someone please confirm that my understanding on the mask and tubing is correct? I really want this to work but more importantly, I want it to work properly so that I don't risk voiding my ResMed warranty. Thanks.

      Hello Marlene, The SoClean 2 cleans masks, headgear, tubing and humidifier chambers quickly and conveniently while they're still attached to your CPAP! When you wake up from a restful night's sleep, just place your mask, with headgear, in the SoClean 2's cleaning chamber with your hose still attached. Channel the hose through hose slot on the side of the SoClean 2 and close the lid. SoClean 2 will turn on automatically when it's time to clean your equipment. Take care!
