Hi Nicko! Your kids are darling!! Love your informative and entertaining channel on a subject not talked enough about. I read people are members of a online group u have? Is it on Fb? Also, could u do an yt on tips and tricks on the different ways to tape your mask for a better seal etc? Thank u! 🤩
@@sue4856 Dry mouth is usually caused from mouth breathing. If you are using a nose mask. If you are using a nose mask. Then get a chin strap to hold mouth closed or maybe try a full face mask. If you have a full face mask. Try a nose mask. If still dry then again along with nose mask use a chin strap. I hope this helps.
Thank you for the helpful video. PS I am from the United States of America I love the accent you have and the tone you use it makes me feel warm and happy on the inside. you get 2 thumbs up from me. 👍👍
@@trento8397 Like he said in the video - it depends on what your needs are. You have to talk to your doctor who can prescribe a sleep therapist for you. They will do a test to see how bad your sleeping habits are then decide what to do next.
I’ve been using CPAP for 2 nights now and I’m shocked how quickly I’ve gotten used to it and how good I feel in the morning. My mind feels so clear and my energy is so even throughout the day. I also slept straight through the night for the first time in I don’t know how long.
I have using mine for over 20 years. I'll never forget the first time I used mine in the hospital where they were doing the CPAP test. It was like I woke up in a different world.
You’re such a sweetheart , almost brings tears to my eyes cause I understand how important sleep therapy is. I’ve only been doing it for a few months and I’m having trouble using it consistently but I won’t give up! Every time I use it I feel more energized and motivated 😊
Compliance is an issue for many. It’s usually the mask. For me I used the Resmed Airfit F40 but as a slide sleeper it was difficult as the hose is in front of your face. I switched to the Airfit F30i and I love it as it’s easier to side sleep
My CPAP changed my life, been using one for at least 16 years. I NEVER go anywhere without mine, I think I've only missed 3 nights out of all those years. Great news, thank you!
can i ask you something sir ? Recently and unfortunatelly i started snoring and have sleep apnea. In 2 weeks my sleep specialist and ENT will check my results of sleep test. Is it correct that cpap machine cures snoring aswell ?
Thanks for the video! I've been on CPAP for many years now and when I go without it I notice IMMEDIATELY. Love my CPAP. I have noticed the side effects but never really considered them side effects. All those side effects are valid.
Great Video. As a CPAP user for over 20 years, I think it is great that you are putting this information out on this channel. One complaint I always have is that you see a Doctor and their staff to get set up originally with using a CPAP machined but then that's basically all the interaction you have until you have a major problem with the machine which could be many years later. Anything to help the spread of proper information is a great but to society. Thank you very much!
@@KayOglesby I just depends on the company who supplies the machine to you. I had a very nice young man deliver everything in person and he was also there to show me how to use the machine and all of its different functions.
So, I had the sleep study, cpap therapy was determined as needed, doctor & staff set up ordering the machine and showing me what I needed to know. In my case and I assumed all cases were such as mine, I am required by insurance company to go to my sleep doctor annually for the doctor to obtain the report from my machine on my usage and then send that info to said insurance company. This info provides insurance company with compliance report. If I don't go to the doctor and if he doesn't send that report or the report proves noncompliance, the insurance company is not going to pay for my cpap supplies. I have learned that there are many people who don't go to their sleep doctor for years after beginning cpap therapy and insurance keeps paying on or for their supplies. I really need, use and benefit from cpap therapy. I'll continue seeing my doc as required.

I have been on cpap 6 weeks now and doing well. Scores between 98 and 100 consistently. I contribute the high scores to a vitalsleep mouth guard I have been wearing at the last 4 years.iterally NO cpap leaks. My dilemma is irritated throat from the CPAP. Pressure set at 10. Use nose pillows, medium size. Sore throat and developing smokers speech. Will this eventually lead to throat cancer? I am not a smoker or eat out the other thing.
@@dcole9589 - what setting is your heated humidity set at ? Try gradually increasing it as it feels ok. Does your nose get stuffy during the night ? If so try nose spray right before bed. If the sore throat goes away, it was due to drying the throat due to under humidified air during cpap. If you are not using heated humidity, consider starting, and try it out. see what works for you.
I have had a BIPAP ResMed for over 20 years. I use a heated tube, with heated tub for water and have no issues with dryness. My BIPAP ResMed has been a life saver. I get good night sleep all the time. One little trick I found was to take the tube and push it up over my pillow and then tuck in in between the pillow and head board. That way when I move often, it doesn’t interfere with my movement.
Get rid of the C pap get an A pap instead . It adjusts automatically to the amount of air you need. No sleep study needed after prescribed, none of the bad effects of a set air pressure.
Started CPAP last year, and what a life changer. I am no longer tired during the day, I don't knod off and my heart rate is now normal. Huge positive changes.
Thank you for your great content. Love my therapy. I wake up bright eyed and full of life. I wear full face and have ladies resmed machine. The best thing I have got for an amazing 8 hour sleep. We all need great sleep.

Great video Nick and thanks for helping solve one of the problems I’ve been having with my CPAP therapy. I’ve been getting bloating and stomach pain which the Dr kept saying was reflux, and I’ve been on medication that hasn’t helped one bit. After watching your video I decided to try lowering my pressure from 10 down to 9…it did help but I was still waking up with stomach pains. I dropped the pressure to 8 and my AHI was still well below 5 so dropped it down to 7….that’s when my AHI began going up, but still under 5…so I tried 7.5 which is perfect. No more bloating or stomach pain. Many thanks.
@@vickibowers03 Since no one else has answered I'll post a reply to your question. I have the ResMed brand CPAP machine and it doesn't have the flex option to reduce the amount of pressure. Mine is at 17 because I stopped breathing 72 times an hour! I had to adjust the machine at first but once set there's no readjusting it again. This is something that your doctor will have to do. It takes a while to get used to it. I don't have stomach trouble and I have acid reflux but I don't wake up with bloating in my stomach. I do have some grogginess when waking depending on which side I slept on. This makes it harder to not be sore but other than that I have had no problems sleeping with this setting. Just ask your doctor about it. Maybe she/he can decide which is the best course of action to take.
Very interesting video. Thankfully I got my Cpap over 25 years ago. My ex- claimed it added two years to our marriage. I guess I'm lucky because I have not had any problems with my Cpaps over the years. I think I'm on my 4th machine and I never even lie down for a 10 minute nap without strapping on my headgear. I think the last time I checked the meter showed I was 99.2% compliant. The Dr. was impressed. Once recently I forgot the cord when we were going for an overnight trip. I don't think I slept more than 3 or 4 hours. I hear people who don't like them and wish they would give it a better chance. For a lot of people it takes some getting used to. But it is SO well worth it. As you can tell I'm a total fan of this system.
I had tremendous gut problems with air getting into my stomach... I use a ResMed mask that covers my mouth and under my nose. I was dropping my jaw and heaps of leaking and the machine increased the pressure, so more air into my stomach... I now wear a soft "Foam Cervical Collar" that prevents me dropping my jaw.... Now my leakage is low and my AHIs are usually under 1.0. Using this has changed my life.... No more swollen gut... No more severe dirorea... Gaining weight...
Hi guys! I have had many years use of the CPAP, with numerous face masks and machines. I had a problem with the Dry Nose and also nose bleeds last year ( as I am on warfarin for a mechanical heart valve). A trick I use along with the great ideas stated was to use white ( medical grade ) petroleum jelly and lightly put it in my nostrils to cover the skin within. Worked very well for me! No more irritation or nose bleeds.😌
I was diagnosed at 60+ events which was very shocking. I took a while to adjust to my cap but now I couldn't live without it. I believe that the mask is the key to success. The correct and well fitted mask for you is imperative. A good travel machine is worth investing in too.
I have only recently learned that sleep apnea has been a long-standing issue for me (& that my exhaustion and terrible sleep is not normal). That said, I do not yet have a CPAP, but this is the second video of yours that I’ve watched, & this information has been VERY helpful. I get the feeling that you actually care very much, & I appreciate that because true compassion is a growing rarity. @@CPAPReviews mate why is that? I just spent 2k on a eesmed machine...have you talked unfavourably about them? this is the first video of yours I've seen
I have been using CPAP for about 6 months now and it has helped me a lot. Don't snore anymore and do not have headaches when I wake up in the morning. However, it took me sometime before getting used to it. Now I sleep more than before. I like 👍 my machine ResMed AirSense 10.
Getting rid of the headaches was HUGE for me . Currently dealing with leaks and burning eyes but I think this is always because I keep a pretty big beard so might take some adjusting . I do notice some bloating and loss of appetite not sure if that's due to the machine or just my anxiety
I get very hot when sleeping and cannot stand hot air in my cpap. On the flip side, I hate the dried out feeling when I don't use humidification. I find my best setting is having the humidification on the lowest setting and NOT using a heated hose. My point is you may have to try many different settings to get everything just right. The key is not to give up, you got this!
@@williamwisener6488 Seems counterproductive. Wouldn't just turning off the humidifier completely give similar results? The problem is that although I don't like the heat, I need the humidification. Has anyone ever seen a cold air humidifier on a CPAP machine? I know that make them for the whole room.

I actually love my CPAP and take it where ever I go! Thanks to this therapy over the past two years, I no longer nod off during the day, and driving! Driving used to consist of driving for about 20 minutes and then getting drowsy and fighting to stay awake. Or when I was teaching -- during study times or kids working on projects, I'd struggle to stay awake, and especially in boring teacher inservice sessions. Now? No problems at all for hours!! I used to get up 2-3 times a night. But now I sleep a solid 6-8 hours depending on outside noise that might wake me up. CPAP has been a life changer for me.
I'm finding your channel very useful so thank you very much for all the hints and tips. I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea this year and have just got my very first CPAP machine. I'm still learning my way around it, but already finding it of massive help. Help. Thanks again for the helpful information.
make sure to keep your mask gasket clean. dawn soap works for me. Also wash your face before going to sleep so it seals better when possible... Just my two cents... Always clean the equipment so ya don't have any issues.. Been using one for a few years now.. Trust me, just do it :-) also keep tabs on the filters to it as well.
I’ve been waiting for 2 months now on my CPAP machine. Apparently there’s been a shortage of them due to supply chains and chips not being available. Also the recall hasn’t helped either. Hope you were able to get yours as I am still waiting here.
@@vishnudeo5414 That can happen because air from the Cpap machine can enter the stomach. Sleeping propped up on a pillow or a wedge pillow should help :)
I have just come across thus site. Keep up the good work I was originally diagnosed with Sleep Aponea many years ago. After initially trying the Nasal prongs I purchased a mouth and nose plate. I also ended up with a humidifier unit hoping that would solve the dryness issues that I was experiencing. I could never get accustomed to the noise of the various machines either. I have restricted air passages which would become wind burnt. Added to the above I would develop reactive Sinusitis. The sinuses also become i flamed when rain is imminent. End result us I have long given up trying to use the machine. I have chronic health issues and some respite would be appreciated. I get very little sleep. Most days it is a struggle to stay awake. If I do get some sleep it is only in short cat naps due to pressure building up in the sinuses or running out of air. Take care, John

Over 20 years of cpap therapy behind me and glad to say I've only had the occasional dryness concern. I do keep a spray bottle of saline solution by the bed and sometimes start out the day using that for extra comfort if feeling dry.
@@Upper_left_bred I talked to the specialist who handles my sleep therapy. He said that the goal of surgery is to cut your numbers in half. In terms of AHI, less than 5 is normal. 5 to 15 is mild. 15 to 30 is moderate. And 30 or greater is severe. So, this is what you need to look at when considering surgery. In my case, I'm at 131 without the machine and less than 5 with it. Now if we do a little math, we can see why he didn't think surgery was the best option for me. But I would imagine that if you had an AHI of more like 30, it would be a more attractive option. So, that's the sort of thing you should weigh.
@@TerryProthero thanks for the response, I feel mine had gotten better but I’m also gaining weight again. I found the gym really helped improve 💯 best of luck to everyone dealing with sleep apnea
I’m tuning in for the first time. Last night, I used the Cpap machine for the very first time and I’m disappointed i was only able to tolerate it for a little over one hour. It doesn’t help that I am coughing which is related to my blood pressure medication. I’m thinking of stop taking b/;p medication to stop the coughing and build up tolerance to cpap therapy. I appreciate you sharing everything you know about this and the suggestions.
Hi there, how exciting! This is a great question. It's different for each individual as there's a lot of different variables to consider such as 1. How severe the apnea is, 2. How long it takes them to get use to sleeping with the therapy. 3. How effective the therapy is at controlling their sleep apnea ( the results ) and many many more factors. From my experience, most people notice some positive improvements within 1 month. Some people notice it after 1 night! Other's take a little longer. It's important to remember however that even if you don't notice a huge difference in how 'you feel' it will still be making a big difference to your overall health and wellbeing. Best wishes for the future. Nick
Hello. I've been using a CPAP machine (actually a few) for 25 years. I decided very early on that I do not like the heated tube or moisture so I have never used them. I have tried a dozen different masks over time and settled on a comfort pillow style which is minimally invasive to my face. I cannot imagine sleeping without a CPAP now. It does work and you'll get used to it if *you* choose the best gear for you. Most companies will allow you to try on different masks. Just ask and best to you!
Your channel is great. I am new to Cpap. I’m still trying to dial the machine to match my body and your advise and suggestions are extremely useful. Thanks again!
Hey Nick, just found your very informative channel. When I got my CPAP 10 months ago, my GP (not my sleep doc) warned me about the dry nose and recommended using a nose moisturising ointment. It's a saver! I use it every night and don't have any problems with dryness, although I don't have a humidifier and my nose membranes were dry to begin with and prone to small bleeds. The one I use is called Rinopanteina and contains oat protein, sodium hyaluronate, panthenol, vitamin A and other substances. I never go a night without it.
had my Cpap 6 years. Turned my life around, must have the humidifier though or it dries nasal passages out and causes congestion. I found nose mask worked best for me as I am a nose breather.
When you say must have a humidifier are you referring to a separate humidifier in the room? Or is there some sort of humidifier attachment made for cpaps?
Help! I unplugged my cpap and when I plugged it back in the air pressure was at a 9, which just about blew me out of the room! Is there a video that shows how to reset the air pressure on a ResMed Airsense 10?

So I was waking up from water flowing on my face whenever I moved! Not fun to get a face full of cold water! BLURG! I sleep with an industrial fan on my body, and a high powered desk fan on my head. Hi Nick, CPAP user since 2001 and still on the first machine, a Resmed Autoset Spirit. A trojan of a machine. Have always used nasal masks, but mouth breathing a constant issue. Various and several chin straps later and the fix is a piece of Micropore. No more problems with short-cycling. Thanks for your video's and I'm glad I have not been a Philips user. Peter.
I'd like to know also. I have a big problem with mouth breathing. I have a res med machine and can't turn down my pressure. Aren't they pre set at factory or by your doctor?
34 yr old male here. Started using my cpap recently and went from 40+ events per hour down to 1-5 events per hour. It definitely helps as I’ve noticed I feel less tired when I wake up and just overall better quality of sleep. Never had any of these symptoms though.
WOW! 40 +? I would count that as a blessing! I stopped breathing over 72 times an hour!!! I was tired all the time and I could barely stand being alive let alone sleep properly. It wasn't until I got a CPAP machine that I could feel better. It took a while to get used to sleeping with it. I couldn't tell the difference at first but after a couple months I felt a lot better.
I was lucky enough to have a fantastic respiration therapist that told me when I first got started with a cpap is not to force myself to use it ,just to keep trying and if I got overwhelmed put it aside until felt like trying it again , and when I got my first good night's sleep I was a believer .....CPAP - don't leave home without it !!
That's what I did until I got a Bipap. Those things are damn noisy tho. I needed to use a damn FAN just to drown out the Darth Vader breathing sound of the damn Bipap. So glad not on Bipap now
In US, my health insurance says I have to use it for a minimum of 4 hours a night for 28 out of 30 days. Otherwise it is taken back. It is rent to own. 😕

I can definitely feel the difference and being able to monitor myself using the my air app is extremely helpful. I’m going to stick with it. Still figuring the most comfortable tension on the full mask but for sure doing better already. Thanks again for the reply.🙏🏽💪🏽

Being congested is the worst for me. before I go to bed every night I have to use a decongestant nasal spray or I will wake up feeling like I'm suffocating and the spray always works. you all know that suffocating feeling and waking up in a panic and that's NO fun and scary at that. sleep well all!
That scared me so badly one night, I have been afraid to use my machine ever since. I get a bloody nose when using nasal sprays. I feel like nasal congestion is a big contributor to having sleep apnea!
To prevent dry eyes, I use an eye mask with the cpap - I've learned how to adjust the eye mask just right- it's a lot of gear on the face but works great for me. Also, I purchased a eye mask online that is a cushion type, not the flat fabric style.

Check out my vid on how to correctly set your pressure levels so they are at the lowest level possible - th-cam.com/video/pL4egwDrvbg/w-d-xo.html . Let me know if you need any help. I've never heard of a heated hose. My machine heats the water in the reservoir before it is delivered. I live the tip about letting the machine warm up before use. It will also be at the correct pressure. My machine starts out low and builds up pressure slowly.
The length of the and a cool room temp can make a heated hose more pleasant. I find I use less water because it doesn’t have to be so hot to heat the hose!
My biggest problem was always getting "drowned" by water build up in my tube that would pour into my mask and give me that "drowning" sensation. (Not a pleasant sensation to wake up to.) I solved this, by hanging the middle of my hose as high as it would go and still give me enough room to move around comfortably. This way, any condensation that builds up in the hose (usually builds up in the first half of the hose) and would drip back down into the CPAP machine instead of into my nose! Thanks to the VA, I'm able to order the heated hoses, so I'm definitely going to give those a try, since you stated that they work better. Thanks for the great video and you earned my sub already. (This is the first video I've found from your channel)
I use a Resmed AirSense 10 C-Pap machine. Calibrated C-Pap machines (i.e. those set at a specific air pressure based upon sleep study test results, etc.) are older technology. My auto adjusting machine senses the amount of air pressure required to open your airway and adjusts accordingly. I've been using C-Pap therapy for 13 years now and it's a life changer. I went from waking up every hour throughout the night to sleeping straight through the night.
Thanks for this useful content. I've been using CPAP for 3 years and recently feel like the air pressure needs adjusting. I feel my lungs are weakening and relying more and more on CPAP.

Thank you for your video on the side effects of CPAP machines. Now I can check my unit and adjust as you have explained in the video; plus I've been experiencing some of these side effects that were never explained by my doctor or even CPAP providers. All that interests them is money! I'm so happy that I found your video. 💯
, I'm so glad you put this out because after using CPAP for 6 months, I was waking up in pain with air in my stomach. I tried to get help with it but couldn't, so quit using it. Now it sits next to my bed.
I had suffered terribly from air in my stomach, so I bought a soft foam neck brace from the chemist... It keeps my chin up and stops the air leak, (air leak means higher pressure, so more into the stomach), now my leakage is low and my AHI is usually less than 1.
@@douglaschristine8387.. Unfortunately I am not able to post a photo, but just ask the chemist for a soft foam neck brace, and wear it so that the high part in the middle is under your chin
I have nasal pillows and use Ayr Gel around the nasal openings it lubricates and also help seal the pillows to my nose making it easier to use the pillows.

Thanks for this info Nick. As always, love it when the kiddos are included. It teaches them valuable lessons they don’t learn in school. The kids always bring a smile. This video will hopefully keep others from panicking when their S9, S10, etc. reach that “magic” number. I understand why the manufacturers do it but don’t like their tactics when making an inquiry. It is appalling how ResMed (and I’m sure others) respond by trying to sell a new unit or to charge something exorbitant for repair. I recall taking my Audi to the dealership for some repairs and 48 hours later I receive a text from the dealership wanting to take my car in trade-in and to put me in a brand new Audi. Hell, if I wanted a new one I would have bought one. Same goes for our CPAP devices.
After a few years of using my cpap I started getting bad sinuses and blocked nose and I talked to specialist, doctor etc and none had the answer so I started looking around the google world and found a forum run by a doctor (USA) and a few users were experiencing same or similar symptoms to me. The result is just because you are given a script with a pressure to set the machine to (mine 16) things change over time and finally started to reduce the pressure gradually until I found the correct level that treated my apnea and reduced the sinus and nose blocking to an acceptable level (11) . Its not perfect but it is all about compromise - I hope this helps someone here, remember your fix may not be the same as mine but as stated in the video trial and error as your sleep technician doesn't have all the answers.
I specifically asked to stay on an auto adjust setting. Similarly I asked for a higher upper bound, just in case. Y doctor was more than willing to comply.
Great video, very informative. I think it would be a good idea to understand there are 2 types of sleep apnea and if nothing you have tried seems to work you may have "Central sleep apnea" this is a disorder in which your breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. Central sleep apnea occurs because your brain doesn't send proper signals to the muscles that control your breathing. To determine if you have central sleep apnea you must have a overnight monitoring in a sleeping lab to observe your breathing and other body functions during a sleep and make sure you are getting enough REM sleep (rapid eye movement). During polysomnography, you're connected to equipment that monitors your heart, lung and brain activity, breathing patterns, arm and leg movements, and blood oxygen levels while you sleep. Sorry for the length, but I was never told this information when I began my treatment and think it's important to know. I had symptoms I did not think were related, difficulty concentrating, mood changes, morning headaches, anxiety, panic attacks and taking medications that were not helping. Common cause is Drug-induced apnea. Taking certain medications such as opioids - including morphine (MS Contin, Kadian, others), oxycodone (Roxicodone, Oxycontin, others) or codeine - can cause your breathing to become irregular, to increase and decrease in a regular pattern, or to temporarily stop completely. It is very common to have both "obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea. Hope this may help someone.
I've been using a BiPAP ResMed machine for 3 years. The pressure was set at 10-20 psi by the VA. When the machine would hit 20 psi, it would gag me. It had to be turned down to 10-15 psi. I've tried every mask available and have settled on the one I've been using for the last 2 years. Anyway, I average less than 4 hours of sleep each night since I've had the machine. I get dry mouth and can't get back to sleep. I've tried all the tricks with mouth sprays and such. Moisture is at max setting and I have a heated hose. I've tried all the combinations of moisture settings and hose settings. I wake up sore and exhausted. I don’t move at all when using the machine so my shoulder hurts. The only time I feel rested is when I don't use it at all. I'm a "CPAP Failure' according to the VA. They have no answers either. I'm not a candidate for the Inspire implant or the dental prosthetic. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi! You're my only hope.
I’ve had a real struggle with using my cpap, it’s set up so it breathes with me, not continuous pressure and that helped but was still a struggle since I’m really claustrophobic. I’ve also not found a good fitting mask that didn’t leak unless I have it pulled uncomfortably tight and it then pinches the top of my nose and makes it hard to breath. I actually made it through the last 32 days with continuous use. As a result my sugar level is much more stable. It’s amazing all the health issues that stem fro sleep apnea. I have complex apnea, both central and obstructive.
Thanks Nick! I felt like I was trying to use a super-computer without knowing anything about the operating system. My sleep tech programmed my AirSense10 to 16 and I felt like I was sleeping in a typhoon. After you showed how to access the clinical menu, I now have the pressure down to 9 with 2.8 events per hour. Surprise! the mask leakage numbers improved by 75% as well. Thanks so Much.
At least the CPAP is only supposed to be used a maximum of 5 hours per night. Both CPAP and ventilators at hospitals will only let you exhale for about 1.5 seconds, then no matter how hard YOU blow to fully exhale your carbon dioxide, both machines will blow harder and harder, hard enough to prevent you from exhaling longer than 1.5 seconds. On my last sleep clinic to try out using a CPAP machine, I kept waking up every 5 minutes having a nightmare that I couldn't breath, all night. Finally at around 5am I did my breathing exercise, with equal inhales to exhales. I did 4 counts each, and no matter how hard I tried to fully exhale all my carbon dioxide, the machine blew harder and harder, and prevented me from exhaling. I had them turn the machine down to a minimum, I could overcome (while awake). I read a report about research that showed ventilators do the same thing only allowed a 1.5 second exhale. Big inhale, tiny exhale, and they put people on ventilators for 24 hrs a day. 80% of people put on respirators in hospitals die, but they receive $20,000 to $40,000 every time they put someone on a respirator, so are compelled to do so by the hospital. I googled: what would happen on the USS if the scrubbers malfunctioned and stopped removing the carbon dioxide from the air. NASA has it worked out down to the second, how fast all the astronauts would die re-breathing their carbon dioxide, and it's not very long my pretty, not very long at all. The machines are gimmicks to make money, plus the providers of the machines can and do control the machines remotely while you sleep. Search for class action suites about these machines.
@@valerieann8007 I'm glad you said that about the 5 hour limit... I am seriously wondering if your better off or not on these- honestly I don't feel better nor worse... I was having 6 times of not breathing so why is my setting at 16, almost full compasity? Unless its because I have a cyct on my lung?

Great Video. As a CPAP user for over 20 years, I think it is great that you are putting this information out on this channel. One complaint I always have is that you see a Doctor and their staff to get set up originally with using a CPAP machined but then that's basically all the interaction you have until you have a major problem with the machine which could be many years later. Anything to help the spread of proper information is a great but to society. Thank you very much!
The doctor does not help with getting set up. You practically are on your own getting set up.

I'm having awful stomach bloating and pain but I don't know how to lower my pressure
What is your machine model number
Can you lower your machine pressure or does Dr have to do it?
Is it hard to sleep with CPAP?

I was originally diagnosed with Sleep Aponea many years ago.
Take care,
John
Thanks John, sorry to hear about your health issues and i hope that you get some respite in the near future.

Ever thought of surgery?
@@Upper_left_bred very low succes rate
@@Upper_left_bred
I talked to the specialist who handles my sleep therapy.

I appreciate you sharing everything you know about this and the suggestions.
I had apneas in the range of 42-44.

Now i started realising sleeping is this much relaxing and beautifull.
I got my CPAP today, how long did it take you to notice relief?
Hi Sajith, thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to hear you're kicking goals with the therapy :-). Have a great day. Nick
Nick

Which machine did you get? Review?
Thanks for the tips!

I got tired of the leaking and humidity issues, so I removed my right lung and installed the CPAP directly inside of myself. I've never slept better.

Nice one . Thanks for the great tips
Water level too high a little below the top line should be better
I use a Resmed AirSense 10 C-Pap machine. Calibrated C-Pap machines (i.e. those set at a specific air pressure based upon sleep study test results, etc.) are older technology. My auto adjusting machine senses the amount of air pressure required to open your airway and adjusts accordingly. I've been using C-Pap therapy for 13 years now and it's a life changer. I went from waking up every hour throughout the night to sleeping straight through the night.

I had suffered terribly from air in my stomach, so I bought a soft foam neck brace from the chemist... It keeps my chin up and stops the air leak, (air leak means higher pressure, so more into the stomach), now my leakage is low and my AHI is usually less than 1.

Hi guys, ResMed is trying to take down my channel. It will probably get shut down tomorrow. Here's a Facebook Group i started! Please join for support - facebook.com/groups/138127984943408 .
Wow, been on cpap for over 20 years and never been told this. Many thanks for your info...Cheers!
Only had my CPAP for 2 days so far. It's tough but I know it's for the best.

Helping me a lot… thank you
I've been using a BiPAP ResMed machine for 3 years.
