MOST HATED METALCORE BANDS: Emmure, Bring Me The Horizon, Attila

- I talk about 3 of the most hated bands in metalcore: Emmure, Bring Me The Horizon, and Attila.
Why people hate Frankie Palmeri and Emmure for the way they look
Why Bring Me The Horizon were hated for being a deathcore band in the "Count Your Blessings" days, and are now hated for NOT being a deathcore band after the release of "Amo"
How Attila's "heel turn" reminds me of UFC fighter Chael Sonnen

Hetfield IZ a metal elitist
Just started following on insta been a fan of the channel for a while but only on insta for about a month. Personally i don't like any of the bands mentioned but some real eye openers in this one; keep it up!

please next video on what killed thrash metal or what killed emo?it would be really great.
I like your shirt!
BMTH has made really solid deathcore, metalcore, alt rock, pop etc... its quite impressive
I dont know why people hated amo. Yeah it’s different but it’s not bad
@@joshs5135 it's generic, there's nothing special about that album, so it's not like you will remember it either
maXelss tellh yeah I get what you mean. But I’ve never felt the need to get angry at an artist I support for making an album I don’t like. I think if people keep doing this you’re going to see a lot more bands break up because they can’t handle it, like MCR.
They know I’m not a huge amo fan cuz I don’t stream it as much. And neither do their fans, we don’t have to be nasty about it
It’s called Emocore, not metal, but still nice Emo band though 🤷♀️
@@fyrengard .... lol
I've always said, I'm a metal head, I love it, but I hate being around most of the metal fans, they are some of the most negative and one dimensional people out there.
Try being a female metalhead. We're not taken seriously by most of the folks (read: men) in the community, hence why I ultimately don't really hang out with metalheads anymore.
@@eugenemetayhas that or not white. I used to get grilled to prove that I actually like the music. Stupid.
Why I started playing grunge music. Metal is too secularist. Also these metal core bands are full of man children who act tough but cry about everything. I loved playing metal when I began my journey with music but Metal bit the dust.
You’ve been around some of the worst then and I feel bad for you . Almost everyone I’ve met in the genre both bands and fans were amazing. Hope you have better experiences in the future
What I find amusing is the metal scene's constant rejection of the mainstream and revisionist history of the scene itself.
Metallica does the Black Album, metalheads say it's a hard rock album.
Nu-metal becomes mainstream, and they claim it's not actually metal.
Then once metalcore and deathcore start flirting with mainstream attention, anything -core is seen as not metal by them (except grindcore cause we like that one).
It's like they selectively pick and choose what metal is and isn't to preserve their image. But instead of looking like totally br00tal yet learned dudes, they just come across as smug dorks with a chip on their shoulder.
Bars
Metalcore and deathcore we're never metal same with nu-metal.
You can't drop everything that Black Sabbath did and say it's metal.
Power metal is metal symphonic metal is metal folk metal is metal and so on. They are metal because they keep the melody and harmony with in the music while still being heavy.

Bmth has literally made bops in every single album.
Every song on sempiternal was enjoyable. It dragged in so many new fans because it was lighter than their previous stuff.
That's the spirit was a great album too. It's not my favourite type of alt - pop style but yanno it's solid and I liked every song in a way.
Amo seems to be decent.
Oli said he can't scream anymore and they're growing out of the metal. Plus like they can do whatever they want.
I'm not a fan anymore but I always listen to their new stuff and pick out a few good songs.
I listen to Attila because they got such deep lyrics. Like Pizza. I cry every time I listen to this song. They understood what is wrong with the world.

I don't hate any of the bands here. But Dr. Finn, I do hate the band 5 finger death punch and I don't know why. Please do a video on this band so I can figure out where the root of my irrationality stems from...
Five Finger are a third-rate nu-metal band, but a triumph of marketing. I thought Finn covered them a bit ago, but I can't find it just now. They did a great job of writing "fuck you if you have a problem with me" songs and packaging it with constant album artwork, uniting their fanbase with bandannas & then they played for first responders and the USO so blue collar folks in flyover country love them.
I cant stand 5 finger death punch, because of their music. And they are a bunch of bananas.
They are super lame.

Dude for real I don’t like them either but I like every band they are affiliated with. And I don’t know exactly why I don’t like 5FDP so I feel like I don’t have the right to not like them if I can’t provide reasoning for it 🤣
Honestly because they are kind of corny

As a BMTH fan I think they're mostly hated because of many times they changed their style and still changing it .. I guess I'm lucky to have a taste that extends widely to love most of their styles.

Not pop though. Because if that were true they'd play it on the radio until you hate them for constantly being played. They aren't hated for that, they're hated for changing so much and sucking at it
Ehm.. Not really that hard
GMRB ok go and do it while staying popular with every time you transition from genre to genre if it’s not that hard😂
Johnny Morningstar that’s not very true either, they aren’t really played on the radio because they are known more for there metalcore/rock stuff so they aren’t counted as a pop band so they aren’t played on the radio constantly, and they don’t really suck at it either, yes i think they are better at making heavier type stuff then they are at making pop, but they definitely don’t suck at making other genres

I'd say punk or metal fans are the most judgemental
S U thats true, especially punk imo
It’s true. They’re the most judgemental music fans.
I honestly think it's kinda sad. It's difficult for me, personally, to have people make judgement based off of the fact that I listen to those genres, and see people with similar interests to my own be extremely rude towards other genres or people for basically trying to be themselves. I dunno. I just feel like you should be able to like what you like and respect the fact that not everyone has the exact same opinion as you do.
As a metal head surrounded by "elites" and gate keepers, I can confirm that.
Not really true. Judging an entire group based on the vocal internet extremists is not an accurate judgment.
Most of us hardcore metalheads are chill.... I may really dislike some of this music and do not respect some of the bands, but I do not "hate" the members or the fans. I just do not buy the music or go to those shows.
All you people see are the crazy minority of metalheads and then pass judgment on everyone.
I remember the sheer vitriol metalheads threw at Bring Me the Horizon back when they put out "Count Your Blessings" and started getting popular. I just loved it when they'd say shit like "Bring Me the Hairspray amirite lol!!!!" and make fun of them for wearing eyeliner or whatever when black metal bands are always going all-out with make-up and costumes. There was also the incredible amount of homophobia directed at them. Y'all think you're badass viking warriors but lose your shit over a dude wearing eyeliner lmao
There was a lot of hate for the guyliner scene stuff in general back then. Hell, it still carries over for a select few homophobic douchebags today! Look at the hate Black Veil Brides and Motionless in White get!
I admit that I was one of those douchebags myself. Not towards BMTH specifically. I always kinda liked them, especially on This is What the Edge of Your Seat is For. But I thought Count Your Blessings was actually a step down. I liked what they were doing, but only in like...4 or 5 song bursts. When it came to deathcore at the time, I was much more of a Glass Casket/early-BTBAM (Blake Richardson is a god!), All Shall Perish, and Dead to Fall kind of guy. But I just loathed that look. And TBH, I still fucking loathe skinny jeans, though now it's less because I associate with them with being queer/being queer with being a bad thing, but more because they just look really fucking uncomfortable.
Also, if we're being honest, there's always been a kind of homophobic hatred for bands that look too feminine in heavy metal in general. The whole glam metal thing was fucking loathed by "true" metalheads in the 80's. Now, people pick on Black Veil Brides for being an emo band that looks and kinda sounds like Motley Crue (and pick on Motionless in White for being an emo band that looks and kinda sounds like Marilyn Manson), but back in the day, people fucking HATED Motley Crue! And the weird part is...it's not clear where the cut-off is exactly. Because metalheads that hated glam metal...tended to like 70's glam rock. They liked Slade, and Bowie, and Mott the Hoople. They also loved New York Dolls, when New York Dolls' whole thing was to look like chicks! But because those guys were all kinda ugly, it was okay when they did it. But an even mildly attractive dude like Vince Neil? Or a really naturally feminine and attractive dude like Brett Michaels?! That's a step too far. What separates Aerosmith's flouncy and flamboyant tendencies, or Quiet Riot's, from White Lion's? Apparently it's rather or not you're pretty enough to fuck.
It's people having an orientation binary ingrained in them rather than accepting that sexuality is a spectrum and most of us have some minor bi tendencies.
Ironic too because musically CYB was a fairly abrasive and inaccessible album. I've always said that if it was Grindcore-cargoshort neckbeards that made it, metal nerds would've fawned over it. The additional salt in the wound for them being that it was released on Earache LOL.
@@rl-fq9lz Musically, CYB is way crazier listening to it now than I remember thinking it was at the time. It's probably because at the time I was listening to shit like Ion Dissonance, Orthrelm, Converge, From a Second Story Window, and The Number Twelve Looks Like You a fucking lot. Compared to the other deathcore at the time though (ie. Glass Casket, As Blood Runs Black, All Shall Perish, Job for a Cowboy), it was insanely technical and oddly structured, and Oli was just ripping his vocal cords to shreds. The only stuff in the genre at the time I could compare it to might be The Red Chord, Animosity, or Despised Icon. But somehow it seemed way less brutal and way more accessible than any of the bands I mentioned, and I don't know why.
The people that were talking shit about the fashion probably hated on black metal kids too lol

I'd say BMTH has always been hated, but also loved at the same time, just by different crowds. At first they were hated for being too emo/scene when they were a deathcore band (Count Your Blessings). Then they were hated for being innovative with deathcore instead of churning out the same sound we've already heard from a hundred different bands (Suicide Season). Then they were hated for being metalcore instead of deathcore (There is a Hell...). Then they were hated for being hard rock instead of metalcore (That's the Spirit). Now they're hated for being pop/rock/whatever instead of anything they used to be (amo). But they're more popular than ever, playing bigger shows and selling more merch/albums than anyone else and they have 10 times the fans they did just a few years ago. Yes, I miss the old days (never got to see them until Sempiternal) but they're doing fantastic for themselves and are definitely two steps ahead of everyone else.
Love the video Finn, I'd like to see more of this series! Another band that has a similar story would be TDWP. Hated back then for being super scene, now they get crap for having a different sound than they used to and not playing their old stuff (though they don't get as much hate (or love) as BMTH does).
Suicide season is metalcore and unique but everything else yes
That's what I think is so interesting that people don't ever seem to mention. For as "hated" as they are, there's literally no way to say it ISN'T working for them. They put out music videos that get 10 million views and they straight up play stadiums.
Bmth has always been ahead of the curve and don't stay in a niche after they've made it popular. The last 2 years were full of bands trying to emulate That's The Spirit-like atmospheric music, before that it was Sempiternal etc. In 2 years there'll be a bunch of shitty amo imitations and Bmth with do the next big thing
@@Jaybeezt13 "they don't stay in a niche after they made it popular" is such a good way to put it. They get hated for innovating and changing their sound, but then the sound that they change to becomes popular, then they get hated again for changing from that popular sound to something new. And the cycle continues
@@Jaybeezt13 imo they are alt rock at heart but amo sounds poppy because it's meant to send a message to the mainstream

I’m from the eighties and let me start by saying any bands you mentioned are better than any glam metal band I had to suffer through in the eighties.
Fucking facts! That awful hair metal was bullshit! Motley Crue, poison, Cinderella....... All of them suck
Haw to say I agree to a certain extent
DEFY Ä I don’t know if I’d consider Twisted Sister glam. And Shout at the Devil was pre pop crue in my opinion.
There were a lot of good musicians caught up in a bad style.
@@Uncle-Bull now that's very true! I'm not gonna say the musicians themselves were bad but ugh I couldn't take the glam metal scene.
I like how people really disliked Count Your Blessings and the band's guts. Now they have a good, fresh poppier rock sound with slight metal influence here and there (and a lotta electronic influence) and now they want Count Your Blessings back. And when that is back, people will complain about the deathcore again. Short, they can even change back to metalcore and people will complain about it for some dumb reason.
Bands are not musical machines which do any music you please. Bands are creative groups who do what they want.
I think their biggest Fanbase is Metalcore, cause its their best genre, talent wise. Changing back to Metalcore would actually make them be liked again by most parts of their Fan-Base. A mixd Record containing songs in a way of Thats The Spirit/Sempiternal/Hell/Suicide Season, would lift them up. A Record doesnt have to be onedimensional in its stil/genre.
The people that want cyb era back is the old fans, not people who used to hate them when they did deathcore.
@@axel1562 not really some are also non fans who didnt like count your blessings and are now joining the hate wagon to bmth. A lot of fans (like me) are slowly learning to accept their new genre bec (duh no choice) but hey check out Lumens. The start is still disappointing but the chorus then the middle of the song towards the end? It was giving amo, then thats the spirit, then sempiternal vibes. They were better when they were metalcore. Period. Count your blessings, suicide season, there is a hell.. any of their early albums are amazing. They lost me after those albums though. I have zero regrets, and have learned much on the human condition from the experience.
I believe a few artists have come to the same realization, but most likely discovered it by accident, due to frustration from irrelevance, in the face of intense work and perseverance.
Psychology is a helluva drug.

Yes! Most hated Pop punk bands next please!
Yes
That would cause the video to go at least Half an Hour.
The only reason a lot of these bands are hated is because they are very well known and famous, mainly bmth, and with fame comes people who love you and people who hate you. It's pretty much impossible to be famous and not have haters.
A perk of not being around people into the scene is that I rarely ever hear about bands that I am "required" to hate. I can listen to them or see them at a festival and judge them on a pure musical level. That and being old enough now to realize that I don't have to listen to bad music if I don't want to. Alternately, I won't hear how LOVED a band can be, and I'll see them at a show and wonder why everyone is going so crazy for and singing every word along with.
I wouldn't call myself a fan of Attila, but I've seen them a couple times and respect how the singer is able to bark off his lyrics so fast in a live setting.
You nailed the trolls who hate BMTH so perfectly 😂
Oh my god that "in the beginning there was count your blessings, and lowe, it wS declared gay by metal elitist" killed me😂😂😂
He’s right Chris fronzaks vocal range from all of his screams is insane
BMTH is my favorite band. I love there hard shit, and I love most of there other softer shit. But they are just growing as a band. And fans can grow with them or live in the past. Either way they will be on top
*their :)
bmth has evolved so incredibly well. i actually like they're newer stuff more than i liked their old stuff.
This is the series I’ve needed and didn’t know it. Some suggestions: kickback, agoraphobic nosebleed, morissey.
morissey hatred is justified
I don’t disagree at all. But there’s no doubt it keeps him in the public conversation.
Do people hate Agoraphobic Nosebleed? My impression was always that they were reasonably well-liked in the grind community...
Kickback? We hc kids love them
Kickback is tight asf
I haven't seen the "not sure if Emmure tab or binary code" meme before, but man, i LMFAO'd
Yep, I’ve loved bmth since 2007 and I distinctly remember Kerrang! throwing shade towards them every week and now they love them 😒😒
I will love them whatever they release! My first love!!
Cool video. As someone with pastel pink hair your spot on when you say metal fans (and hardcore fans too) judge people on their hairstyles. I've been called a non metal and non hardcore fan lots of times by metal and hardcore fans for having pastel pink hair even tho I love metal and hardcore music.
Comapring The American Gangster to Attila was A1. Great video!
I enjoy Attila’s first album because the music is actually pretty good and it’s just for fun. It’s not meant to be taken seriously like most metal is. I think that’s why people hate on them. They’re just here to have a good time lol
right! their lyrics are really open-minded too
Haha i think attila is one of the only bands people decide if they like off just looking at em mostly fonz off put em cause hes to comfortable 😂😂😂😂
As put by Alexisonfire, "Oh, 'cuz this shit's not about pants
And this shit's not about shirts And this shit's definitely not about hair"
Thanks to mlb the show 2007, i know who alexionfire is. I love their song "this can happen anywhere in the world".
"the only band ever".
Loved this hahaha, do Asking Alexandria, Memphis May Fire and Falling In Reverse next
Yes!
Ronnie Radke is a national treasure

MMF fall from grace is so sad and depressing to think about. I mean imagining filling up good size venues/ Top 5 Billboard. Only 5 years later, To having to piggy back onto other artists tours/avoid headlining since you don't have much of a draw anymore. Having 7th/10 spot on a offshoot of a festival you used to headline.
@@ThePunkRockMBA please do, those 3 are go to's for my music
Metal heads are simultaneously the most wholesome accepting people and the biggest fuckin gatekeeping haters on the planet. It’s amazing.
Ok but about the hats, why do metalcore bands get shit on for hats but the guys from Epicardiectomy can wear grills, sports jerseys, camo basketball shorts, AND flat bill hats and people love it lmao
Because slam lol
I guess because Metalcore bands use to either the classic metal head look or emo boy look.
Now everyone is cutting off their long hair and sporting hats or undercuts.
I think that a lot of people that hate metalcore also hate slam. I mean I think that slam fans also hate metalcore but y'know
You all have opened my eyes
@@bunnyvesper6824 haha I think a lot of ex deathcore fans are big into slam now and are projecting.
Discovered BMTH when they released Post Human: Survival Horror and loved it and since listening to the rest of their albums and they're becoming one of my favorite bands
Oli in the deathcore stage had a way with lyrics the others didnt. He at least had a little more poetry feeling to it. The drums kinda killed it for me. I LOVED their sempiternal\there is a hell era. But theyve topped almost every rock\metal genre theyve been in soooo
I'm so late to this comment but I agree about Oli's lyrics, he's really got a way with words and definitely influenced me as a lyricst. Although I do like their new stuff, I feel like he's really simplified his lyrics lately.
Somehow my musical tastes have evolved pretty similarly to the timeline of evolution for BMTH
I thought you were gonna bash on bands but I’m glad you’re not. I absolutely love this video. People be hating on bands for the most idiotic reasons.
He’s not wrong about being me the horizon. I hated them, loved them, hated them again, but this new album, omggggggggg literally came out today and already listened to it 3 times over.
When I was younger, I was a narrow-minded fundamentalist about what "my" metal bands should be like, now I don't really care. Metal bands should do whatever they want as long as they're happy, even if that means no longer being metal. Besides, for every old heavy band that goes pop, there are two other great new heavy bands emerging, everybody wins
If you're a fan of Atilla or Emmure, Don't feel bad ,because I listened to Limp Bizkit's Significant other for the first time since I was 10, and I still find it very enjoyable
$3 bill y'all is still my jam, brother
You and I are both the old men yelling at the clouds now😊
Shaking my finger screaming "YOU'RE A COUNTER.....FEIT!" at the kids in the neighborhood sure has kept them off my lawn
Limp Bizkit, they definitely have some good stuff.
LB is a good band. The musicianship is top-notch for nu-metal. It's Fred that's the problem.
So when I was into my heaviest years of goth, death metal, my mum would say that all the neighbors will think our whole family died because of all the black clothes drying outside(don't judge, I'm Eastern European) phase I got into BMTH and then I remember someone who was high in that alt hierarchy in my school said something bad and I felt like I could only like their music in secret. I know, dumb. Anyways recently I went through their whole discography and I must say. This bands evolution seems like my own personal. I too went from a dark emo/goth kid to a...well a fucking grown ass woman. I enjoy good ambiental sound, I still like BMTH but I appreciate everything different that they make. And I embrace it. Same with many other artists. I can't expect to like all the angsty music I liked as a teen. Although I still do tbh.
SAME!! They grew up just like we did, I am a bit older than them but still loved the music back in the day and listened and took my teens to the shows and festivals, (did like 4 Warped Tours before they stopped doing them). Just this past September I took that same kid of mine {now an adult), his fiancé' and my 2 grandsons to see BMTH and it was an amazing show! BMTH is the boys favorite and one of my favorite bands! I think that says EVERYTHING about a band that can reach 3 different generations of people and still be relevant and GOOD! Like what you want, who gives a shit what others think you should like! I am 54, son is 31, the kids are 12 and 10. WE don't give a shit lol 🤘
Brilliant video as always! Hit the jail on the head with BMTH; love how that track Heavy Metal. Hope you're well my dude 🤘
Finn : "so why was Emmure Hated?"
Me : "Douchy Whiteboy lyrics."
Finn : "HATS"
It’s the rap rock thing for me🤣🤣
Then he starts bragging about how they sing about sucking dick and he still thinks it’s hats🤦🏼♂️
I’m watching a metalcore influencer defend Emmure and I need a minute. My sisters the only one who’s understood my attachment to emmure but this guy gets it. I didn’t know that metalcore was a thing or that metalcore influencers existed but I’m very happy to have found this channel. Thank you 💕
🙌🏼
How are you unaware of one of the most (in)famous metal genres? You never googled their music to make sure you have all of their discography? To find what music they make and find similar bands?
"Heavy linkin park"
got me the LOLZies
Yeah imagine Linking Park doing something like Alligator Blood or Chelsea Smile lol not even close hahaha
@@alejandromallada992 you haven't heard Chester live have you? That man was sick at screaming.
@@revelxtion6326 who said Chester wasnt good or didnt scream, i said Linkin Park never did a type of music like bmth was doing back then, metalcore
I mean compared to all the music that exists, Linkin Park definitely is on the heavier side of the spectrum. Sure, there are thousands of heavier bands out there but that doesn't make Linkin Parks first albums less heavy.
some of their songs might be quite soft. but really. chester could do a mean live scream.
I remember being so triggered by About That Life for pretty much no reason years ago . Then Pizza came along and I thought it was one of the greatest things I've ever heard haha. Fronz actually seems like a pretty cool guy.
Zach Beckwith haha I know right. Pizza changed them for me that break down is sick. And what band can you head bang and laugh too at the same time
About that life is the only atilla album I really like.
Your kind of right about bring me the horizon considering that everyone loves parasite eve and ludens at the moment.
Just saying Fronz is my guy! Freaking love Attila!
yup. villain is awesome. I want a new desolation of eden and eternal enemies now.
Fuck yeah 🤘 he’s a dope dude in an amazing band
villian was fantastic
Everyone who does not love them has never heard pizza 😁🍕
grumpy cookie PIZZA IS MY LIFE
Comparing Meshuggah to Emmure was definitely one of the most bizarre thing's I've ever heard.
Also, people don't like Emmure because their hats? Umm, right, that's what it is.. Despised Icon are one of the most beloved bands in the deathcore/death metal world, and oh yeah, they wear hats just like Emmure. Some very important and loved bands bands in the slam subgenre wear hats and attire similar to Emmure and are loved by many and much less hated than Emmure.
I'm sure there are other bands in the genre I'm missing that people don't despise that wear hats aswell, but I'm not that well versed in the metalcore/deathcore genre.
Just because several kids in the comment section of a Emmure song bitched about them wearing hats, doesn't mean that's why they are one of the most hated bands in the genre.
Fun fact, despised icon were hated for years too. Only recently that nerds started worshipping them
@@ThePunkRockMBA That's right, I do remember that now, it's been a minute. Around the time they released the video for Furtive Monologue right? Man I feel old haha.
I'm also pretty sure it's not just "nerds" that like them, whatever that means.
I believe this was said in an entirely satirical way about the "hats" situation. Emmure has a lot of reasons for people to hate, but their music isn't one of them as of late (at least in my opinion). When Frankie and the latest/OG band members parted ways, they upgraded exponentially with the Glass Cloud lineup. Love them or hate them, they are making some face-melting shit.
And now BMTH is loved again cause lets be honest there new album is incredible stuff. If you haven't listened to Post Human, Survival Horror. You might wanna.
It's quite interesting that all three of the bands mentioned have a charismatic vocalist. Like them or hate them Oli Sykes, Frankie Palmeri and Fronz always get people to talk about them.
Damn, I'm old enough to remember when long hair was a strict requirement of metal (although Rob Halford used to get a pass). Now I'm bald enough to be grateful it's not so strict in that area. But i agree the metal scene has always had a thing about people that don't look right getting hate, which is strange considering the ethos is supposed to be the opposite.
sempiternal was my gateway drug into the spirituality. I didnt listen to it until 2 years after it came out, it was a beautiful album. Perfectly angry and confused, searching for something I dont even knew existed at the time.
I liked the MMA reference took 2 of the best things being music and MMA and put it in video. Totally worked! Best channel on TH-cam!
It gave me goosebumps when you said BMTH was probably the most hated metalcore band of 2007. I was there man...I was there! *shudders*
People can hate on bmth but what they have done is pretty impressive. To stay at the top of the charts for so many years is hard enough. But they have been able to change genres for each album and predict what will be popular to the masses. It's pretty incredible to say the least.
Atilla is literally Metalcore/Deathcore Limp Bizkit.
Nope not close!
Instrumentaly completely different. Wes Borland has distinctive guitar sounds.
@@tiernanwoollaston1669 Which is why I said they are the metalcore/deathcore version of limp bizkit.
@@im.weasel yes but they barely have any similarities at all. Even vocally.
@@tiernanwoollaston1669 I don't understand your argument. They have the similar styles. As in they both have a rap/hip-hop style vocals mixed with metal. Limp Bizkit style is nu metal and atila is metalcore/deathcore. How are they supposed to sound the exact same if they are 2 different genres of metal? You are aware that people can sound similar to others without being clones right?
I think SYWH was the reason why 'About That Life' blew up.
i take full credit
In my teen years I used to have a shit attitude towards some elements of the hard core and metal scene but I’ve evolved to see things as musically appealing or not individually without regard for genre stereotyping.
I will say I can understand the defensiveness of the Metal community given the outright toxicity we often face from normies and the appropriation of metal culture without due regard for the music.
Make it a series. I loved hearing takes on bands that are hated for very surface level bullshit.
BMTH is a solid band across the board got stuff for whatever mood you are in.
10:34 Iron Maiden. The only band to reach the pinnacle they did in Metal without selling out ever.
@Mason Young
And that is why I think a lot of "Metal Elitist" hate a lot of these popular bands, because unlike Iron Maiden they had ti change their appearance and sound to get popular.
@phillip martin Seasons of the abyss was the black album of slayer, but you are mostly right though
Sempiternal is how I discovered and started loving BMTH, so I had no idea they were hated back then. Also, Linkin Park are my favorite band, so I guess it makes sense that BMTH are my favorite metal band (at least when they were metal).
