Back in 2008 or 2009 (I forget which) I was at warped tour and had a way more bold personality as a teen than I do now. I saw oli casually walking around with an amp and no one really noticed bc they weren’t that big yet. I just walked right up to him and went “you *points to front of me* hug now” and he was super nice, laughed, put his amp down, and gave me a hug..... I’m so embarrassed by myself 😭 but after I grew out of my scene phase I didn’t follow bmth and I must be old bc I only recently realized they’re still super relevant and have drastically changed their sound. I’ll always love the deathcore even though I don’t listen to much now. I have a private video of me as a teen lip syncing one of their songs into a hair brush... it got 2k views and lots of hate comments. 😆 I’m very embarrassed by this whole comment because I’m 26 and am super quiet and introverted now but I still wanted to share.
+Taylor Anthonsen id say more sempiternal/there is a hell. I think we can fully state they'll never go back to deathcore, but reintroducing metalcore aspects and breakdowns isn't too far gone. especially considering Oli featured on a song with While She Sleeps and did vocals similar to those on songs like Shadow Moses. Id love to see them go back to There Is a Hell (my personal favorite record by them) but sempiternal style as well would be nice. I just don't particularly like That's The Spirit
The reasons oli doesnt scream anymore, is because if he keeps on screaming and yelling, he will eventually make his voice vanish. Everytime he screams he destroys his voice little by little.
Daniël Willems i know i said Sempiternal/thats the spirit I didn’t say tts by itself and if you watched the interview Jordan Fish (Synths) said “The new album will be like Sempiternal/Thats the spirit mixed together” so please read my comment again.
I‘m so stoked for their upcoming album! They stated in some interviews that this won’t be a pop record and be a bit weirder, dancier. Maybe they‘re going for more Nu- Metal in a kinda Korn-y style but with the typical BMTH sound. That would be amazing! Also in Silence Speaks by While She Sleeps Oli screams with a new technique I think(?) and that would sound gorgeous with a more Metal- sound. Whatever it will be, I‘m hyped af and will buy it, even if it’s a Grindcore album with k-pop influences or something xD
Aris Kar What are you talking about? Fanbase? Dude you are in the Clique (one of the worst fan bases ever tbh) (also side note Tøp is great but the fan base isn't)
Terranout agree so much oh god im glad as hell i left the clique behind and they always say its not that bad but only people who havent been on other fandoms say
Sempiternal and There Is a Hell Believe Me are really the only 2 albums by them I like, That's The Spirit has a few songs I enjoyed but most of that album was filler, and their earlier stuff just isn't my style.
Pray for Plagues, Diamonds aren't Forever, Chelsea Smile, Medusa are all brill. Yeah they may not be your style but the breakdowns, progressions and riffs are awesome, and Oli's screams were demonic. Awesome stuff
Personally think they peaked with Suicide Season and everything has been going downhill since then. They're a band that should have two guitarists, but instead opted for a massive twat on a keyboard after There Is a Hell
I really like "Sempiternal" and "There Is A Hell ...", I ocasionally listen to their older stuff but from "That's The Spirit" nothing really stuck with me. I mean Drown is kinda good but I don't actively listen to it. And the "the fame got to their heads" thing isn't quite like that. Oli Sykes and Co were never the nicest and most thoughtful people. It's not the fame, they just to whatever they want and always have.
That's the Spirit had a few good songs on it like "Run", "Throne" and "Happy Song" but it felt like they were watering their sound down for radio play a little bit.
Doomed and Drown were the only songs I liked off that album. BMTH have always been cunts tbh, don't get me wrong I love them, but they've always been the kinda people who just don't give a fuck. Oli said at Reading in 2015 during a song "punch someone in the cunt" and has said many times in concert "kill each other" and "show me a circle-pit/wall-of-death you pussies". Their image doesn't help much either, I don't know if it's the camera people asking them to act all grumpy but they look like they're trying to be so badass and serious in every photo. There was also obviously the time were the band 'allegedly' pissed on stage (when they first started) and other shit like that, but hey they're their own person. Maybe if they didn't start off with emo haircuts, emo clothes when having a pretty heavy deathcore sound they wouldn't have got so much hate from metalheads. It's not the fame though, they've always been cunts haha.
I love most of Bring Me The Horizon's songs. I love Oli, and he puts soooo much emotion into his voice when he sings/screams. The band is good no matter what for me.
A little bit deathcore too. Some verses in "The Comedown", "Football Season is Over", and of course "No Need For Introductions, I've Read About Girls Like You On the Backs of Toilet Doors"
it's because the genre shifted and 2006 metalcore isn't 2013 metalcore. Anyway, both albums and also "There is a hell" are considered to be metalcore because they were when they got out.
I like their Metalcore, but here's the thing, I can name you 20 other bands that sound like Suicide Season and Count Your Blessings. There is a Hell... and Simpeternal are pretty Unique. Not exactly groundbreaking, but they've found themselves a whole new lane in Rock and I think Rock and Metal need more innovation right now.
Old BMTH were good, their deathcore stuff wasn't that good and there are many much better deathcore bands, but they had a great metalcore sound. Oli's scream is quite unique, it stands out because of his accent i think, but his demonic screams were awesome (even though it really fucked up his voice and he had laryngitis too because of it. Anyway, their music really shined in 'There is a Hell' and especially 'Sempiternal'. They should've really kept that sound, or made tweaks to it, instead of becoming rock, alternative, pop with occasional metalcore influenced vocals.
Jon Flynn groundbreaking is like Pantera, or Korn. Bands and artists like that who added new sub-genre's of music, and started a whole new wave of new sounds. Those type of artists were like trend setters, with unique sounds. Skrillex in some respect really took the dubstep, techno, electronic scene by storm, and really shifted the sound of dubstep. But Skrillex isn't good anymore, he's usually a feature in mainstream songs now.
Personally, I love most of their work and the change seen over the years is actually the chief reason I enjoy BMTH. Its rare to see a band, particularly one in metal, being willing to branch out and change, and it is even less common for them to do it so successfully at every turn.
Sprint2911gt3rsr oh yeah? You're talking this shit when you can't even do it yourself. You probably can't even sing at all and you're saying all this bullshit lmao
lmao i didnt try to sell fake screams to people. and i sing just fine. idk what your deal is just because i pointed out a fact. no one likes a fake, please cry to someone else kid.
Sempiternal was emotion filled. Oli was going through rehab during the making of that album he was going through withdrawals and the like. Hospital for Souls, Snakes Start to Sing, Can you Feel My Heart and Sleepwalking. Sempiternal was so amazing. That's The Spirit is just as good. And I've been a fan since Suicide Season. The band evolves and they are always going to be haters who can't understand that when they were doing their old sound they were all depressed especially Oli the man has tried to commit suicide multiple times. Been to rehab so many times. There's a reason their sound is changing.
ChaosBeastEMO because it sound too generic and bland, literally no single personality in that song, even Champion and the Mexican one had something, but this new one doesn't, the only good thing about it is that it wasn't as bad as Young and Menace
my ex really got me into BMTH in 2014 (although i listened to 2 of their songs before then), i was never really a big fan of their deathcore songs, i'm a huge fan of Sempiternal and That's the Spirit!
I love Bring me the horizon. Oli is such an inspiration for me, how he beat such a serious addiction and takes full responsibility for what he did. He’s so honest and although it might be brutal honesty, I am just glad that he takes a stand for what he believes in, and writes music true to himself. I find it quite distasteful when public figures remain quiet in order to just pander to every audience and not alienate any group.
Lol spoken like a true jailbait fan hahaha falling for thw image of a band and memebr they want you to see hahaha what a follower hahaha grow up and get a actual singer worth being a insperation haha
I'm sorry, I can't take anyone seriously that can't even use standard written english properly. Once you get a degree in neuroscience and behavior and are actually qualified to make these kinds of judgments about people's character, let me know, and we'll talk then
Allegra haha a basic bitch like you that has to use a filter on her profile pic has a degree in neuroscience hahahahahahahahahahaa suuuuuuuuuure and Caitlyn Jenner as a woman
This series reminds of another series by TH-camr 'coverkillernation' called Top 5 Reasons Why People Hate (Insert Band Name Here). I always find it interesting to hear different reasons why people hate or love bands that I enjoy. I really like your reasons. I enjoy BMTH because they don't stick to making the same type of music. Just like one of my favorite bands, Avenged Sevenfold, I like how BMTH has evolved and changed their sound and music.
Reasons people HATE Black Veil Brides Tbh, I used to be a huge hater of BMTH. I hated their old stuff so much. And whenever people used to talk about how handsome they were it just made me madder because people never said any other reasons why they liked them other than "oli is so cute!!" But when they released There Is A Hell, I turned around. That is one amazing album and really changed my mind about the band. Still hate their old stuff tho.
Honestly, I think they're okay. I think their old stuff is decent (I do like me some deathcore sometimes), but from There Is A Hell and onward, I think their sound improved significantly.
Roast immune 1. they are the masterpiece musicians of the nu-metal era 2. theyre active and involved in charities all over the world 3. their diverse and ever-changing music styles pull fans from every corner of the globe 4.because they are linkin park and bo one ever can top them. ever.
5. They're some of the nicest, hardest-working, funniest and most down-to-earth guys in the scene and the way they've stuck together like brothers is beyond inspirational, especially after the events of last year (I know that's technically two points... deal with it)
Maybe a bit of a mainstream opinion, but I think That's The Spirit is a fantastic album and one of my all time favorite. For some reason, it reminds me of Living Things from Linkin Park, my favorite album of all time. Sepiternal is also pretty good to. However I just can't get down with their older stuff. It's just a bit too heavy for me.
I really love their old stuff, but I like their new stuff too. Sempiternal really is my favourite album, but There Is A Hell was definitely a great album.
honestly I love when I can clearly notice a change in a bands music. Nobody is ever the same person ten years in the future and their music shouldn't be too.
I love BMTH. They're a staple of early 2010's emo culture that I grew up in and Sempiternal is honestly a masterpiece, in my opinion. But I've never heard of that clip where Oli Sykes jumps on that table. It's definitely a bit excessive over just album artwork.
love this series. and love bmth. i like all these special series like "reasons people hate" "ranked" "dear jon" and especially "probelms i have with" thats my fave
I actually like them, and they've become one of my favorite bands over time. And Sempiternal is also my favorite from them. Especially Hospital for Souls :3 I play it always when I have a hard time, or sometimes even for no reason, just to enjoy it :D
I love BMTH. Bought all of their albums. Went to their shows. Loved them for years. But then again Oli makes me cringe. He disrespects people who believe in God. It's 2018 and we should be respecting each other. Dissing people because of their beliefs is so childish. He has all the courage to mock Christians. But can he do the same to those who believe in Allah or Buddha? I don't think so. Just because Christians don't retaliate doesn't mean you have the right to shit on them.
Crooked Young. "Fuck your faith' is the refrain of the song. Personally, as a Christian, I'm not offended by the song (I love the sound of the song) but can understand why people would be
ARTV Not just in Crooked Young but Oli just hates people who have faith, that's it. You can tell with his merch and all that. If I wasn't a Christian, I'd still find it cringey and immature. Grow the hell up Oli. You don't have to shove it down on people's throats that you don't believe in God. If you don't, then don't.
I'm also a Christian but I feel he should be allowed to express those views if that's genuinely what he thinks. If he's just doing it to appear 'edgy' then that's a whole different story.
LeanneGC101 Oli Sykes during his recovering drug addiction in rehab was constantly told to repent to god, and give up drugs for god, he was made to feel guilty for his addictions, he was made to feel like the only answer was god, which whom he didn't believe in. It must've been a hard time for him, that's why he likes to give his opinion on religion, and how (in his mind) it brainwashes others and traps others. His song Blasphemy is lyrically very good. His lyrics on religion make you think, and if you just open your mind to them, you'd consider what he was saying, instead of getting offended by it. Oli obviously feels very strongly about religion (Christianity specifically). People can believe what they want to believe, but that also means that others can have their own opinions and beliefs too, Oli has never been personally nasty to any religious person. Christians will tell people that they are going to rot and burn in hell (old man said that to members of metal band Pantera) so yeah. Anyway it's like a form of protest It's like vegans (coincidently Oli is a vegan) or black lives matter movement, who aren't happy with the way society is run, so they choose to go against and they will say their opinions, which is okay. It's not immature tbh
As a Christian, I completely understand why people of faith would be offended by the lyrics and preachings, etc. although I’m not offended myself. I do agree that Oli steps out of line when it comes to discussing Christianity, but I’m also aware that his opinions have been influenced by negative experiences he has had. At the end of the day, he’s free to voice his opinions although they are disrespectful.
I personally love BMTH's last 3 albums. "There is a hell...", " Sempiternal", "That's the Spirit" and... almost every time I listen to these albums, I find something in one/ more of their songs that relates to me (my situation). I'm not a huge fan of their screaming days though. Anything before "This Is What the Edge of your Seat was Made For"... ehhh, not my cuppa tea.
The main reason BMTH are so hated by metalheads is because their fanbase, half-made by FANGIRLS: just like Avenged Sevenfold or Asking Alexandria or Black Veil Brides, a lot of young girls follow them due to their look, in particular Oly's look. I mean, bands like Slayer or Pantera just can't be hated, not only because they are metal legends but also because they have a solid metalheads fanbase. And this is sad, because people spit shit on BMTH just because of their fans, not for their music
Ah, Bring Me The Horizon. A band I have a complicated relationship with. Didn't like it when Oli Sykes jumped on Coldplay's table at the NME Awards about 2 years ago. The whole thing felt staged and, dare I say it, like he was trying too hard. Then came that time when they performed in my country, at a festival, in July 2016. I did not see them live, but a former high school classmate did. I think he told me he didn't see them live for too long - he was busy with other stuff, if I remember correctly. Which made me reply "ah, I can't stand them. They are for edgy teenagers". Or something in that vein. Then came January/February 2017, when I found myself listening to Throne repeatedly while angry and having a huge headache. And realizing that "huh, they may not be that bad". And, a while after, thinking that "hey, some of their songs (I'm obviously talking bout their newer stuff) remind me of Linkin Park. Which is never a bad thing in my books" I don't dislike them anymore. But I don't think I would see myself getting into them. Well, not for now, I guess.
I really liked Suicide Season, There is a Hell, and Sempiternal. That's the Spirit wasn't my cup of tea because it's too slow and mellow. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just not what I like from BMTH.
Um yeah how much metal music do you listen to again? Amorphis - The Bee [Verse 1] A fire in the sky Ablaze the spark beyond the stars Its gleaming wings will cut their way Through the silent paths of space Planets whirl, suns are lit Mountains fly, stars are dimmed Its golden sabres tear through time [Bridge 1] In the night of the river of death Fly the silent prince electors [Verse 2] On the banks of Tuonela Bleach the skeletons of kings Their skulls of sugar sickly sweet Their bones piled up on the shore On bed of mottled rocks Amid flowers cold as ice Pray the weak, the old, the poor [Chorus 1] And when the tiny one from heaven comes Crawls inside the chosen skull And when the tiny one it summons the others To crawl inside the chosen skull [Verse 3] They build their castles in the heads of kings Bring life to the empty halls They build their castles in the heads of kings And honey will flow once more, once more The music has to be good don't get me wrong. But the lyrics are also important.
I love Bring me and was really impressed when we met them, that they were actually great. Im an old lady and said to Oli, how about a hug for ya oldest fan, he laughed and gave me a hug. I think you had some good points in the video and were pretty fair (considering I was thinking I was going to have to get a soap box and preach Oli). I like that their music changes, every album is a different story. I might not like the next one but have liked them all so far. Thanks for this:)
What do yo prefer? Old BMTH: jehskbevsushdjejdejhehwhvdhddheuwbwjshsudbdhskwhejekwvwuwjekwvwkwvejwhwvwjwhegwhgwjwhwhwudhejwjwbsjsjwvqjqhwkegwkheYavwirveubwvdjsjwjjsksk Or the New BMTH: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAaaaaaaaaaaaaaAh
i think there is a hell sempiternal and spirit are great albums, their old death/metalcore stuff wasn’t bad either but you gotta be in the mood.. it took me some getting used to amo bc again of how different it sounded but i kinda learned to love it at some point (i wouldn’t call it their best work though). the newest stuff simply isn’t for me personally but ig good for them for finally being kinda accepted into mainstream
I'm glad I saw them at the end of the Sempiternal touring cycle at Wembley Arena. Sempiternal is the only album of theirs I still listen to regularly. I still really like the song 'Drown' but the rest of That's The Spirit has done the opposite of grown on me. I don't think it's a bad album, and I like it when bands evolve and change their style, but it's not one that'll be in contention for best album of the decade. As for the ego comment, I could understand it if they forgot their pass and were annoyed at themselves (If I had a pound coin for number of times I've heard about bands complaining about that I'd be able to wipe out my student debt) but how arrogant do you have to be to say "we might not have our passes on us, and we can do what we like. you can't. suck it." I agree, it's quite childish.
I actually prefered their last album to their previous ones. I thought their sound matured and it’s a tie with Sempiternal as my favorite album by them
I love BMTH. I'm not a big fan of the change but its not "bad" I listen to em.... Its not all about yelling. They still my favorite band ever!!!! I'm fine with this! I except BMTH 100% idc what others think its still my favorite band!
When I first started getting into harder music, Bring Me The Horizon was my favorite band of that vein because I could understand the words Oli was screaming without too much intensive listening. I also think that the 2010 release is probably the greatest metalcore record out there, although I don't listen to a lot of metalcore. I also think that although the style changes have been so drastic that their original identity may have been completely evaporated, I think they do a good job with those changes. They diversify their sound in I believe a very smooth way, while keeping traces of their every era, here and there within the music, in such a form that I think is a quite complementary formula. However subtle it might be. They are truly talented. It's a shame that Oli can't really scream as much anymore from what I've heard. His screams I have perceived to be so filled with passion and realism. Especially in songs like Don't Go. The picture of the music is painted so vibrantly. I of course can't help but hold a level of disgust for people that feed their ego in any way. I don't know what it's like to be famous, but I know what it's like to have my music praised, even by people I don't know, and it's a very humbling experience for me. It encourages me to work harder at it, and to keep hold of the realism and genuine quality that I strive to create. If I were to let anything get to my head, it would absolutely lose that quality. And so many bands have proven that to be a fact.
Been a fan of BMTH since 2008, i enjoy all their albums including Count Your Blessing and even That's The Spirit. But There Is A Hell is definitely my favorite album by them, Sempiternal is my least favorite but it's still a decent album.
i hate when people get triggered because bring me changed, like no offense, but they have all got so much older and mature and if you don't like it, leave. Thats The Spirit is a great album, but i love all their older music more
except for Throne and perhaps Happy Song I'm not really into That's the Spirit, but I would sell my soul to Sempiternal, it's tHe BeSt. However, some of their older songs (chelsea smile etc) are quite awesome too, despite me not being that much of a death core / metal core fan
They actually went from scene to a highly talented Rock band (and i'm not saying that in a bad way I LOVE Count Your Blessings)... fucking awesome translation, That's the Spirit my 2015 AOTY...
Bring Me The Horizon was one of my first favorite bands. I even got to see them live three years ago. Although i dont listen to them as much, i definitely come back to Sempiternal and There Is A Hell. I hope on their new album they go for a more sempiternal like sound over That’s The Spirit
I loved There is a he'll, all the way up to TTS. And this is coming from a deathcore fan lol. I just don't think they pulled off the deathcore sound very well.
BMTH is awesome and the fact that they can change genres almost every album and keep putting out spectacular music. I've liked every album they've put oUT
personally i only really liked Sempiternal and That's the Spirit , not a fan of the intense music they did before, so im interested to see where their sound takes them going forward
I have every album including their ep and to tell the truth I love the variety of music I can get from the band ,I can listen to an album to suit my mood and I love it
I personally love the direction they are going. I do like the old stuff, but its great to actually be able to hear oliver sykes voice since it really is good. And change shouldn't be that big a deal, people go through life and change so why shouldn't their music as well?
I was a bit preppy & randomly in 7th grade i stumbled across "can you feel my heart" and i fell in love with that songgg. And i started listening to them and other bands like them & i got into an emo phase. (Yes i had the hair. I went through some shit and black became my best friend) 😂🙄 i don't listen to them that much anymore but i still love them
There is Hell/Sempiternal was their best period I think. Their early stuff was pretty generic Deathcore and That's the Spirit whilst having a few good songs lacked a lot of the hard edge their previous albums had.
I enjoyed this to be honest I subscribed to the channel. I'm a fan of BMTH. Oli is a great musician I feel like people can change music to learn new things.
BMTH are one of my all time favourite bands. I have them tattooed on my arm and seen them live (I have been to a lot of concerts & it was easily one of the best) I personally love their old and new sounds and love it when bands aren't afraid to change their sound from album to album and give new ideas a go. I have to admit the whole we can do what we want when we want poster was a bit of a dick move but in the most part they have always come across as decent people.
I personally think Sempiternal is the perfect blend of all their styles
Nah, that would be There Is A Hell.
both, sempiternal and there is a hell
Even that's the spirit
From the future ITS A PARASITE EVE
I think ur the reason music sucks so...
XD nice story thanks for sharing. The stories of when we embarassed ourselves are the funniest to tell haha
The new album is supposed to have more screaming Oli just needed a break
where did you get that info?
an interview the keyboardist did on loudwire in 2017
So BMTH is returning to their roots in Count your Blessings and Suicide Season?
+Taylor Anthonsen id say more sempiternal/there is a hell. I think we can fully state they'll never go back to deathcore, but reintroducing metalcore aspects and breakdowns isn't too far gone. especially considering Oli featured on a song with While She Sleeps and did vocals similar to those on songs like Shadow Moses. Id love to see them go back to There Is a Hell (my personal favorite record by them) but sempiternal style as well would be nice. I just don't particularly like That's The Spirit
but did you hear how bad his screaming was at the VMAs (i think) the one where he danced on cold plays table) it was bad.
The reasons oli doesnt scream anymore, is because if he keeps on screaming and yelling, he will eventually make his voice vanish. Everytime he screams he destroys his voice little by little.
then you are doing it wrong.
There is a hell, was definitely one of my favorite albums
Thebruhman 03 samee
It was very artisitc and expirimental for them
CreeperBandito yes, blacklist was my favorite for a while
Same.
@@thebruhman03 same bro
if Bring Me The Horizon’s next album is like Sempiternal/Thats The Spirit i’d be happy as long as they don’t go pop.
srhlzbth They said in an interview that their next album will be a bit heavier than That's The Spirit
Daniël Willems i know i said Sempiternal/thats the spirit I didn’t say tts by itself and if you watched the interview Jordan Fish (Synths) said “The new album will be like Sempiternal/Thats the spirit mixed together” so please read my comment again.
srhlzbth sorry I thought you like asked it or something. But yea I hope for you you'll like the new album
They said it'll be a mix between sempiternal and that's the spirit
I really wish they'd go back to deathcore 😢 their first album is without a doubt: my favorite album of all time.
TBH I thought that was hilarious when Oli jumped on Coldplay’s table
And how the lead singer said it was “rock af”
Lol Foals were interviewed about it and were proper triggered by it lol, Chris took it well.
I thought the title said '4 Reasons why I hate Bring Me The Horizon' and I almost got a heart attack lmao
instead it said people. oh good
Shitty band is shitty and so are the tastes of those who like them :V
Ysk Orgn everyone has different music tastes, doesn’t mean a band is bad

I reiterate "Shitty band is shitty and so are the tastes of those who like them :V"

I love their older stuff, i bought That's The Spirit.
There old songs had a lot of meaningful lyrics, especially It Never Ends and {sarcasm} Fuck
GoldNinja Vlogspot all sarcasm aside
That album is pretty much my favourite
Sempiternal was brilliant lyrically in my opinion. Could name loads of lines that were awesome.
GoldNinja Vlogspot Antivist was sick.
It was so politically charged.
"We're young and in love, heart attacks waiting to happen
So come a little closer, tell me it's all in our heads"

Tyler Wolfguard They always have meaningful lycris, just use your fucking brain, welp.
Love this band.

Elijah Whipple i like the music. bit im never a fan of people because seriously, people make terrible humans

Offizieller Kanal von Doggen - Tee
If they go for a more Nu metal vibe but with the band being itself, I'd totally go for it.
I'd love it...BMTH the most versatile band❤️
:(
Lol you again
:(
I think their fan base should be one of these reasons
Aris Kar What are you talking about? Fanbase? Dude you are in the Clique (one of the worst fan bases ever tbh) (also side note Tøp is great but the fan base isn't)
Terranout agree so much oh god im glad as hell i left the clique behind and they always say its not that bad but only people who havent been on other fandoms say
First of all this is an old profile pic, I am too lazy to change it, I love top but the clique sucks
Also I didn't say I hate this band, just that some people hate it because of it's fanbase
Terranout I think the My Chemical Romance fandom is worse (I am a fan of them but I just listen to their music)
Sempiternal and There Is a Hell Believe Me are really the only 2 albums by them I like, That's The Spirit has a few songs I enjoyed but most of that album was filler, and their earlier stuff just isn't my style.
Bosh Force One same
Pray for Plagues, Diamonds aren't Forever, Chelsea Smile, Medusa are all brill.
@Tom Deverson Braille and Tell Slater Not To Wash His Dick are also killer!
Not what I said. Their "different stuff" just isn't as good as their initial stuff.
It's not the fame, they just to whatever they want and always have.
i agree that the spirit its like kinda ok but kinda meh, I liked Follow You and Throne from that album but those two albums were great.
To be honest it’s opposite for me I loved their old songs but ‘that’s the spirit’ was one of my fav our items I loved the album but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
*favourite
I love most of Bring Me The Horizon's songs. I love Oli, and he puts soooo much emotion into his voice when he sings/screams. The band is good no matter what for me.
Suicide Season is technically Metalcore too.
Anyway, both albums and also "There is a hell" are considered to be metalcore because they were when they got out.
teeee heeeee
new bmth isnt metalcore
Luke Berrie that was a good album
I don't really like bmth but I don't hate them but I find joy in that a lot of people love there music
and thats ok hedgehog, everybody has their own taste and styles
Awe that comment made me happy and that's how everyone should view music instead of hating others for what they like :)
the hedgehog deserves a cookie for this
so positive
I love Bmth!!!!
great video.. haha I love their new sound rather than death core
You guys aren't metalheads, are you ?
Bruh This Is What The Edge and Count Your Blessings are their best work so far.
Didn't Ollie damage his throat from screaming so much? Isn't that why he stopped screaming?
I’ve never cared much about a band changing their sound as long as they don’t go full on pop
Well they did
The Start Of The End Lmao. But they’re still good.
yes true ! it's just a matter of perspective really
@@cameron5367 yes wonderful life sounds just like ME!
what's wrong with pop tho
Personally, I love most of their work and the change seen over the years is actually the chief reason I enjoy BMTH. Its rare to see a band, particularly one in metal, being willing to branch out and change, and it is even less common for them to do it so successfully at every turn.
BMTH is my favorite band.
me too !
Well duh ;þ
I don't think jumping on Chris Martins table was an egotistical decision i think its fuckin rock and roll
People who want them to go back to their 2009 sounds honestly just need to get over it. Get over your scene phase people
Scene phase is 2013-2015 not 2009. 2009 BMTH was the shit, 2015 bmth is for fan girls.
fake screams are gay as hell.
Sprint2911gt3rsr I'm really sorry, I'm just a bit on edge tonight.
I love this band. I love how they grew into they’re own style, even if people didn’t want them to. I love the sound, everything. That is all
What are your thoughts on the new Fall Out Boy song/video??
I don’t listen to more than a couple of songs before any album drops, no point in spoiling the album. I’ll hear them when the album drops
I already hear it... is bad
It's fine to that good but no that bad
Hola123, I understand that everyone has a different taste in music but I’d like to know why you don’t like it... why do you think it’s bad??
ChaosBeastEMO because it sound too generic and bland, literally no single personality in that song, even Champion and the Mexican one had something, but this new one doesn't, the only good thing about it is that it wasn't as bad as Young and Menace
my ex really got me into BMTH in 2014 (although i listened to 2 of their songs before then), i was never really a big fan of their deathcore songs, i'm a huge fan of Sempiternal and That's the Spirit!
"its like that kid that never fits in anywhere... gets picked last for dodgeball"
...me...
Allegra trash vocalist trash band lol
eh.. i used to see that in him but he's such an ass sometimes
Reasons people HATE Black Veil Brides
Tbh, I used to be a huge hater of BMTH. I hated their old stuff so much. And whenever people used to talk about how handsome they were it just made me madder because people never said any other reasons why they liked them other than "oli is so cute!!"
But when they released There Is A Hell, I turned around. That is one amazing album and really changed my mind about the band.
Still hate their old stuff tho.
Honestly, I think they're okay. I think their old stuff is decent (I do like me some deathcore sometimes), but from There Is A Hell and onward, I think their sound improved significantly.
I loved their That’s the Spirit record and I can’t wait to hear what they release next.
What is the song from the intro? It's fuckin great
If it's not a song yet and just an intro theme, MAKE IT A SONG
4 reasons people LOVE Linkin park - pose
Roast immune
1. they are the masterpiece musicians of the nu-metal era
2. theyre active and involved in charities all over the world
3. their diverse and ever-changing music styles pull fans from every corner of the globe
4.because they are linkin park and bo one ever can top them. ever.
5. They're some of the nicest, hardest-working, funniest and most down-to-earth guys in the scene and the way they've stuck together like brothers is beyond inspirational, especially after the events of last year
(I know that's technically two points... deal with it)
@@natschaefer1044 i agree, they are amazing
cheekysweaters.gov needs to be real.
2:29 he ruined his voice so he couldn’t scream.
Awesome as always Jon, can the next one be on Beartooth or Asking Alexandria/ Dennis Stoff. I feel like they get a lot of hate
GoldNinja Vlogspot I prefer the hunting party
I love BMTH so much.
I really love their old stuff, but I like their new stuff too. Sempiternal really is my favourite album, but There Is A Hell was definitely a great album.
honestly I love when I can clearly notice a change in a bands music. Nobody is ever the same person ten years in the future and their music shouldn't be too.
I still love these guys though.
fr
That's cool that you added the picture they took at the rave/eagles club in milwaukee
I love BMTH. They're a staple of early 2010's emo culture that I grew up in and Sempiternal is honestly a masterpiece, in my opinion. But I've never heard of that clip where Oli Sykes jumps on that table. It's definitely a bit excessive over just album artwork.
th-cam.com/video/zhshfx3JmO0/w-d-xo.html
I literally love them for their newer sound. Also Oli has an awesome clothing line
love this series. and love bmth. i like all these special series like "reasons people hate" "ranked" "dear jon" and especially "probelms i have with" thats my fave
I actually like them, and they've become one of my favorite bands over time. And Sempiternal is also my favorite from them. Especially Hospital for Souls :3 I play it always when I have a hard time, or sometimes even for no reason, just to enjoy it :D
Bmth best album: THATS THE SPIRIT
I mean S-P-I-R-I-T
spirit let's hear it
LETS GO
I like all of Bring Me The Horizon's music...
you a real fan
I love that they changed their music so much. I wish we would get another hardcore album though.
Anyway it's like a form of protest
It's like vegans (coincidently Oli is a vegan) or black lives matter movement, who aren't happy with the way society is run, so they choose to go against and they will say their opinions, which is okay.
Which is never a bad thing in my books"
I don't dislike them anymore.
I know one main reason is bc Oli doesn't scream like he used to. That's what the drugs did to his voice. Fucked it up. He admits to it as well.
First time I heard Shadow Moses I thought it was too heavy for my liking and now my favorite album is Count Your Blessings. :,D
Um yeah how much metal music do you listen to again?
Amorphis - The Bee
[Verse 1]
A fire in the sky
Ablaze the spark beyond the stars
Its gleaming wings will cut their way
Through the silent paths of space
Planets whirl, suns are lit
Mountains fly, stars are dimmed
Its golden sabres tear through time
[Bridge 1]
In the night of the river of death
Fly the silent prince electors
[Verse 2]
On the banks of Tuonela
Bleach the skeletons of kings
Their skulls of sugar sickly sweet
Their bones piled up on the shore
On bed of mottled rocks
Amid flowers cold as ice
Pray the weak, the old, the poor
[Chorus 1]
And when the tiny one from heaven comes
Crawls inside the chosen skull
And when the tiny one it summons the others
To crawl inside the chosen skull
[Verse 3]
They build their castles in the heads of kings
Bring life to the empty halls
They build their castles in the heads of kings
And honey will flow once more, once more
The music has to be good don't get me wrong.
I don't get the lyrics hate...? I think it's actually one of the best parts of BMTH songs
What do yo prefer?
Old BMTH: jehskbevsushdjejdejhehwhvdhddheuwbwjshsudbdhskwhejekwvwuwjekwvwkwvejwhwvwjwhegwhgwjwhwhwudhejwjwbsjsjwvqjqhwkegwkheYavwirveubwvdjsjwjjsksk
Or the New BMTH: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAaaaaaaaaaaaaaAh
i think there is a hell sempiternal and spirit are great albums, their old death/metalcore stuff wasn’t bad either but you gotta be in the mood.. it took me some getting used to amo bc again of how different it sounded but i kinda learned to love it at some point (i wouldn’t call it their best work though). the newest stuff simply isn’t for me personally but ig good for them for finally being kinda accepted into mainstream
I like when bands experiment with their sounds and that’s one of the reasons I love BMTH so much
I love their old stuff and new stuff. They are growing.
They actually went from scene to a highly talented Rock band (and i'm not saying that in a bad way I LOVE Count Your Blessings)... fucking awesome translation, That's the Spirit my 2015 AOTY...
number 1 is the reason for me, but hate is a strong word
i just dosent follow them as much as b4
still, Sempiternal is a great album
Only thing I have against them is the shit Oliver Sykes pulled on Coldplay at the NME awards haha.
LRLArch that was lowkey funny lol, but yeah he was rude
Do you know why he did that? ._.
Diego SC coldplay used the same ancient indian symbol that has been used by many people as BMTH on their album, so oli got pissy
Oli later said in an interview that he didn't even realise it was Coldplay's table, and Chris Martin even said that he found it funny, so yeah
I love bmth! There is a hell and sempiternal are my fav albums. I like their older stuff, and new stuff. Nice band.
They're amazing. Can You Feel My Heart is my favorite. It really hits deep.
Bmth is one of my favorite bands I don't know why people hate them. Oli's voice is actually better now than before
Lol, I got a Kidz Bop ad
I like BMTH and I like how each album change with the band as they got better with music and writing music for their band as they grown as people.
BMTH is awesome and the fact that they can change genres almost every album and keep putting out spectacular music. I've liked every album they've put oUT
I named my kid after the singer :) i love there old stuff for anger and there new stuff for dealing with painfull life events and being ok wit it
personally i only really liked Sempiternal and That's the Spirit , not a fan of the intense music they did before, so im interested to see where their sound takes them going forward
I have every album including their ep and to tell the truth I love the variety of music I can get from the band ,I can listen to an album to suit my mood and I love it
Personally love their newer stuff but also I’m not a deathcore or metal core fan so that would make sense. They are pretty diverse and is a good thing
Andy Benji
But their only deathcore album was cyb
He stole his picture but will never steal his throne
What do you think of his live vocals John?
I enjoyed this to be honest I subscribed to the channel. I'm a fan of BMTH. Oli is a great musician I feel like people can change music to learn new things.
I love their albums from There Is A Hell to Thats the Spirit.
Im part of a small group of fans who liked every record they released. for me i think they are great musicians and what they do is far from many bands
That last point has probably gotten more true with time unfortunately
BMTH are one of my all time favourite bands. I have them tattooed on my arm and seen them live (I have been to a lot of concerts & it was easily one of the best) I personally love their old and new sounds and love it when bands aren't afraid to change their sound from album to album and give new ideas a go. I have to admit the whole we can do what we want when we want poster was a bit of a dick move but in the most part they have always come across as decent people.
I'm glad they change up so much. I have a liking for all of their music. They'd have to really pop it up on the new album to mess up
