    I think the coolest thing about BMTH is you could ask 10 different fans to make their own list and they would all be completely different.

      @LuLeBe 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      I think 70% rank Sempiternal or That's the spirit highest, cause that's when they got big. And then there are the other ones split between random choices ("Dead dolphin sounds is the best song!") and the "oh I still think just screaming to noise is THE SHIT even though I'm 30 now" crowd from their early work.

      @@LuLeBe I started listening to them in 2006, and I think That's The Spirit is their best album if I'm listening start to finish lol. Suicide Season comes in 2nd for me, but That's The Spirit just hits all of the right notes IMO. Sempiternal has some of their best songs though. BMTH at the end of the day comes down to what I'm in the mood for, and I think that's the case for a lot of us original fans who lack the pretentiousness of the metal purists.

    There Is A Hell / Heaven at the very bottom 😂!?! Easily their best work in my book and such an underrated album. By default still quite heavy and Metalcore based, but the now signature electronic production was properly introduced, and it also started showing their ability to switch up the sickest single string riffs, for the most ambient and tranquil clean electric guitar, leaning into more balladry territory.

      My favourite album BY FAR. They never had so much emotions in their songs before and haven't had since. It's emo and edgy AS FUCK but why sould that be a bad thing if the song evokes great emotions and is well made and creative ? Sometimes we hate edgy stuff just because we cringe at our past self, but embracing it with more hindsight and a bit of nostalgia is so good

    • @gargudon8720
      @gargudon8720 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@yourfather8865 Oh most definitely, especially on ones like Don't Go and Blessed With A Curse. Ultimately quieter, more clean sounding and ballad leaning songs, with so much pain and emotion in Oli's almost crying screams. Plus, if you've heard the new Kool-Aid yet, I got Blacklist vibes off of it, but a bit cleaner... And heavier as that's somehow a possible combo, and with a touch of Count Your Blessings to it 👀

    I'm with you on Count Your Blessings. It sounds oddly good even though the guitars are super fizzy, drums are clicky, vocals are a bit muffled. But the organised chaos somehow makes it a real addictive sound. Really cool 'At The Gates' style riffs. Their metal influence really came through and it sounded way different to anybody else you're right. I think being British made them stand out slightly too because it would've been a completely different hardcore scene over there. Nostalgic album though, got me hooked because it sounded filthy but it had really cool metal riffs and solos that I was searching for.

    The Disrespect for “There is hell…” is unbelievable. The dichotomy of heavy instrumentation and harsh vocals, and cleaner softer sections that are heavy emotionally. How can you not like songs like Crucify me, It Never Ends, F*ck, Alligator blood, Visions, Don’t go, or Blessed with a curse? Maybe its because I've outgrown that older metal sound, but these days you won't see me listening to any of their older music at all. Every now and then I'll put on Sempiternal from start to finish, but I honestly like their newer music more. And this is coming from someone who was listening to them back in the Myspace Era. My personal top 3 are That's The Spirit, Amo and Post Human.

    This band is the perfect band to get anyone into heavy music. Starting with the pop stuff, then going rock and end with metalcore/deathcore ! 😁

    There is no wrong BMTH list, because they have so many fans from all different preferences in music it means that everyone will literally have a different view on them. That being said I want to share my opinion, because that's the only important opinion that counts obviously:
    1. Sempiternal
    2. Post Human: Nex Gen (same reasoning Finn gave)
    3. Post Human: Survival Horror
    4. amo
    5. That's The Spirit
    6. Suicide Season
    7. There is a Hell
    8. Count Your Blessings (not a deathcore kinda guy, sorry core kids)
    9. Music to listen to

    Amo is the only BMTH album I've heard front to back so far; and I enjoy it more than their new stuff, but I think that opinion will change.
    Sepiternal should be an interesting listen; I guess it came out the same year as Northlane's Singularity and Erra's Augment.

    There is an hell is my fav album, but also Sempiternal and Suicide Season are damn good
    My top 8 is:
    1) There Is An Hell
    2) Sempiternal
    3) Suicide Season
    4) Post Human
    5) That's The Spirit
    6) This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For
    7) amo
    8) Count Your Blessings (Don't kill me, I love Pray For Plagues, but the rest of the album is very boring to me)
    Music to listen to sucks so bad to me. It isn't even a BMTH album, it's a funny thing they wanted to do

    Survival Horror imo is their best album since sempiternal. Has a lot of fresh experimentation mashed up with good ol impactful bmth. "One day the only butterflies.." has to be my favourite ballad of theirs. I sadly dont think much of most of their recent singles. Lost and aMeN have to be my favourite

  • @Tyler108x

    I have to agree that TIAH has some awkwardness and a weird mix, but I do like it. On the other hand I LOVE that's the spirit, I like stuff in the middle though so it is for me. Music to listen to.. is really cool, its not something I constantly listen to save for like 4 of the shorter tracks (¿, Tapes, Dolphins, Devastating Liberation, a cut version of headfullofhyena). I think I knew you were gonna put sempiternal low ish. I think in some ways it's their best album but then again it's not my favourite album from them. They have defined Metalcore for the last 10 years. The only thing is I'm like almost wary of how high count your blessings will be, because you put Suicide Season next. And that album is visceral yet somehow fun. Survival Horror is my #1 without a doubt, I'm so happy they did it like this, and didn't just go back to metalcore. It's like if they had done Suicide Season in 2013 having already done amo, which is easily my #2, it was beautiful heavy dark pop and was just overall great. Count your blessings I'd but much lower, but it's one of my favorite deathcore albums ever so there's that. But beyond everything else I AGREE with your #1 pick 100% NO FUCKING QUESTIONS. Nex Gen will probably be my new #1 when it drops, it's that good.

    Ok but... "There is a Hell" is undoubtedly their peak for me. I put that album up there with The Beatles, Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" etc. for top 10 albums of all time. Sempiternal honestly is just "There is a Hell" pt. II in the way that Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" is the followup to "American Idiot." It's good, but doesn't capture that epic and groundbreaking feeling that the first does. I love BMTH's pop side too, but "There is a Hell" captured the moment in a completely unexpected way. Oli's introduction to clean vocals, HUGE guitar sounds, unreal songs - through and through. They were leaving their deathcore roots but discovered a bombastic and cinematic sound along the way.
