This one hurt. I was super into Issues. Their music helped me thru some of the hardest times but knowing what Tyler is accused of, it’s hard to find joy in that same music. I’ve met the band twice and each of them were super nice.
Try your best not to let one shitty member ruin the entire band of hard working incredibly talented people who were just as important to the band if not more than Tyler.
I still love their music it still gets me through hard times. I even just got Issues tatted in the Headspace font. Tyler’s actions are horrible, yeah, but that doesn’t affect how the music made me feel then or how it makes me feel now.

It's wild that after that album their music started to dwindle bit by bit and with the allegations that came out I'm not even surprised one bit.
As someone who was around the circle of the band, I just wanna say I’m glad someone is making a video about this. The dude is still making music for other artists and I doubt they’re making an effort on actually growing. It’s unfortunate that a lot of people see these terrible things and can rub em off as just someone’s accusations. Too many of the same occurrences happening is not a coincidence.
Killer vid as always! If anyone wants a more in-depth history of Woe, Is Me/Issues, The Cozy Representative has a very well done series about them that even Josh Manuel, their drummer, has watched and confirmed pretty much every fact himself. Josh himself has also gone into a lot of detail about the history and his own perspective on what was going on with the two bands at that time as well. Idk if there's any VODs or clips available, but the full story is out there.

I found it kinda amusing that these allegations came out right around the time Tyler opened an Onlyfans and claimed it's for music only, kind of a weird coincidence lol. Good luck for Skyler with Twenty One Pilots and for Josh with Bilmuri!
Hurt people hurt people. Tyler can never win. If it’s a long, drawn out letter to fans, people say he didn’t need to ‘word vomit’ when a simple “I’m sorry” would suffice. If he did that, he’s dismissed as being dismissive.

A friend of mine has been in and out of the scene for like 15 years now. I remember him talking about how shady Tyler is. How he was a predator to straight young men. He literally snuck into someone’s bed. It’s fucked that only like 5 years ago people took this shit seriously. It’s been happening forever.

This series is so good. I really like how you kept the person interviewed anonymous. I thought the punctuation communicated that there was even more details that you excluded out of respect.
Your bad childhood shouldn’t make you text 14 year old boys and the fact he put stuff about rehab and drugs to probably make people feel bad just shows that he thought he could’ve just made people forget about it within a week :( great vid as always dude keep it up 🧡
I had friends in bands that were friends with a band member from Woe Is Me, hung out a few times, he was really chill. Any time I asked my friends about Tyler though, they would say they didn't want to be around him, and something about him bringing underage boys on their bus. It was going on even back then.
As an adult now, working closely with kids who were my age at this time in the scene, and to see how young they truly are, Tyler should have known better.
We all remember the issues era where it was clear they were gonna rule the world. They were easily going to the top. They were the band who could make metalcore (or whatever they’re classified as) mainstream! Then they dropped Michael and I think that’s the downfall from there Also I think what we forget about is most of these “abusers” are apart of a cycle. At one point they were abused too. Does this justify their actions? Of course not! But I think band members need to step in when they see a fellow member either show the signs or see something bad before it get worse. Normalize getting people help and normalize saying something asap. Not after allegations. Don’t hush it. Address it and end the cycle!!
The warning lights were flashing when DJ Scout left, he played a huge role in their early sound. Once Mike left, that was it for them (although I liked Beautiful Oblivion, but it wasn’t the same as the first two albums)
Thanks for this video even I wasn’t caught off guard of those who testify about his behavior. Tyler is one of my biggest influence and got me sing to a band because of his style. I am really disappointed for his actions and hoping for the betterment of the victims! Anyways, mad respect for your transparent videos and commentary! I’m from the Philippines BTW!

Amazing content my friend! I was unaware of Tyler's situation since I've only checked on Issues once in a while(their music was enjoyable to me though), it's always sad to see such a talented musician being such a horrible human. In case anyone wants a band with a vocalist that has that "Johnny Craig/Tyler" kind of vocal, I highly recommend Valiant Hearts(and Galleons, which is VH's vocalist second band), Tom Byrne is a phenomenal singer and lyricist.

Skylar did an interview with the state of the scene podcast and I would highly recommend you give it a listen, because it goes into more detail on why got rid of him.
you’re definitely wrong about one important detail. the allegations were acted upon the moment they were made aware to us. the generalization that “of the other members must have known” isn’t giving ppl like this enough credit as manipulators and good liars. i lived on a completely different coast from him so i basically knew nothing about his personal life he didn’t explicitly tell me. for example we didn’t fire him because of tweets we found we fired him because someone reached out to me personally in confidence, then fans found the tweets later. please do a lil more digging before you make connections like that cuz i did my best to do the right thing and deplatform him as soon as possible but this shit is still gonna follow me for the rest of my life. otherwise, glad somebody’s talking about it
another note, the allegations you mentioned in the second half of your video came from the whistleblower that reached out to me in private earlier, before anything was public. that was posted days after we fired TC.
Thank you for clarifying Skyler, obviously I could've done better with finding every detail... but small things tend to fall through the cracks and I did the best I could with information I found. Haven’t finished the video yet so I dunno if this is brought up - I vividly remember watching an interview with this guy (not sure if this was during Woe, is me or Issues time) but he said something along the lines of “the only place women should have hair is on their head”. Speaks volumes tbh.

I know this is a warped tour based series but would someone like William Control apply here? Not sure how much of warped he did solo or when he was with Aiden but Like, a lot of current emos literally don't even know about Wil's allegations, they just think it was a couple text posts when in fact, there was a whole sex cult and a tumblr detailing and showing videos of shit he did
@@Spermwhales93 I'm a brit and lived in the small band scene so I never went near warped tour from that perspective, but when New Grave (British revival of 00's emo, basically) kicked off, I met a lot of Aiden fans, and a few of my friends did shows with Wil And then, friends on facebook started talking about him, and posting shit, and like... In 2015-2016ish it was MASSIVE, but seems to have been forgotten? Like the allegations AFFECTED THE BRITISH PUNK SCENE.
@@HedeccaTamer know about the new grave thing very well, as two current members and one former member of Creeper are in my general circles. People don't realise how much the William Control stuff directly contributed to it falling over. He literally RUINED peoples' lives.
Tyler Carter & Issues were my absolute favorite musicians and band when I was in high school. Tyler Carter was like my hero. I loved how he was this R&B singer in a metal band. I still think that combination is one of the coolest things ever in music. He was literally my phone screensaver for at least a year in high school. I even wanted to name one of my future children Carter. That's how much this guy and his music meant to me. Him and Jonny Craig were my favorite singers not just in the scene, but in general (birds of a feather flock together, huh? crazy how that works out.) I was absolutely gutted, shocked, and angry when the allegations came out. I didn't want to believe it and a part of me still doesn't want to. However, there's a part of me inside that believed it too. Since then, it's been EXTREMELY hard to listen to any WIM, Issues, and Tyler's solo music because of the allegations. While I still listen to Jonny era Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, and Slaves, I think the difference is that as a straight guy, the allegations against Tyler just hit home differently. I met him once, maybe twice and never got any weird vibes or anything, but just the thought that I could've been one of the victims, just shook me to my core. It's just a real shame all around. I still follow him on instagram, and honestly I think he like lives in Japan now. It just seems like he's always there or at least hanging out with some Japanese rockstars fairly often.
Look for your videos constantly! This is the fastest a creator has become my favorite videos to lookout for, in a long time!! Can't wait to see what else you have to bring!!
If Johnny Craig didn't have all the issues he has, he would have had an incredible career. He had an incredible voice and he could have done anything from metal to pop to RnB to EDM, all at the same time. I feel the same way about Craig Owens as well. He could have had the most ridiculous career ever had he not made so many mistakes.
one of my favorite bands ever. and hearing that their making a comeback eventually is actually a bit disappointing to me just bc it’s practically impossible to replace Tyler’s vocals
Funny that you mention jonny craig because I cannot express to you how much it pisses me off that both him and jonny just HAD to be shitty people while having some of the most beautiful vocals.
I never listened to Tyler Carter, but Jonny Craig's voice to me has always been a voice up there next to Jeff Buckley in greatness from his start to his last DGD album. I never liked his stuff with Slaves and just hearing all the stories of him being a horrible human makes it hard for me to listen to his current stuff.
Again, another killer video. Is amazing how consistent this series has been. As a south american fan I never have the chance to see the warped tour bands live. I've met Tyler Carter, and I 100% believe the story the redacted individual has told. The behaviour is very much like him. Tyler is the only musician I've ever encountered who, on first meeting with me, has ever walked up to me of his own accord and said hi. Not even musicians who are my actual FRIENDS act towards me like that, they always let me come up and say hi first. He CLEARLY thought I was somewhat attractive. I also remember overhearing him joking with some other concertgoers about going out to a strip club with them, because these other concergoers knew where one was in the area. Tyler Carter is a fucking creep, and I'm glad that he's now irrelevant. The other guys in Issues are total sweethearts and they didn't deserve to have to put up with his shite. I met Sky at the same show and he was lovely, we just chatted about basses and Chelsea Wolfe. Me and AJ have since become pals over the internet too and he is a great guy.
I've met him many times and a buddy of mine toured with him.. I 100% believe this. Did he do the hand on your shoulder, rub, and slide. bit while complimenting you like you were old buddies, but in a gross way? Totally his MO

Like, a lot of current emos literally don't even know about Wil's allegations, they just think it was a couple text posts when in fact, there was a whole sex cult and a tumblr detailing and showing videos of shit he did
Somebody fairly local to me got involved in the William Control stuff. It's FUCKED. Definitely deserves a video.
@@Spermwhales93 I'm a brit and lived in the small band scene so I never went near warped tour from that perspective, but when New Grave (British revival of 00's emo, basically) kicked off, I met a lot of Aiden fans, and a few of my friends did shows with Wil
And then, friends on facebook started talking about him, and posting shit, and like...
@@Spermwhales93 ah, so you'll be aware of how the ashestoangels community were instrumental in exposing wil, at least to the UK
Pretty much watched your entire content in one sitting. Very nice, my guy.
thanks so much!
Great videos man! Very well produced and clear to the point on the topic. I’ve watched 3 so far.
the fact that the BAND that he was in believed it, just confirms it for me
Tyler Carter & Issues were my absolute favorite musicians and band when I was in high school.
Should listen to *Secrets* 1st and second albums. They were my high-school heroes, talk about a talented band
I’m so disappointed with Jonny Craig and Tyler. 😔 Do you know of any other vocalists like this?
@@furuyakeifubands like dwellings and anemoria have a pretty similar sound
Look for your videos constantly! This is the fastest a creator has become my favorite videos to lookout for, in a long time!! Can't wait to see what else you have to bring!!
Love your unapologetic humor. "Whoo'is'me" 😂😂
The way you just said woe is me was ridiculous but love the vid 😊
Gotta say im actually happy we have a sunnyv2 typa thing covering the things from the scene
Thank you for subtly noting that Jonny was at the top of the genre in that time.
@@Spermwhales93 glad he didn’t go that route. Go see him, he still tours.
@@FRIGIDBASTARDS I'd rather not, thanks. And I'd rather not go and see Craig Owens, either.
“Woo is me” gave me a good giggle
one of my favorite bands ever. and hearing that their making a comeback eventually is actually a bit disappointing to me just bc it’s practically impossible to replace Tyler’s vocals
People STILL call me a Retard 😂
I literally JUST found out he wasn’t in issues this morning, then you drop this Lmao
Again, another killer video. Is amazing how consistent this series has been. As a south american fan I never have the chance to see the warped tour bands live. Your videos has make my friends hang out as we watch your videos remembering more simple times and ballin. Huge W for you NateThestoreManager
Thank you! thats awesome. But why am I a store manager lol. this is the 2nd time i've heard this today
@@FXKNate Idk I read it and though It would be funny, I would say that you look more like the skater boy from around the store at day, but at night you become Nate the store manager. Maybe the store It's a metaphore on how you keep the “store” (our childhood) “clean” (remebering us of this creeps). Thanks for the great content Nate, I get here for the Bryanstars video. I was watching the one who Cozy made and your pop out of nowhere and since I been loving your work. Massive fan 💕
@@CineAmore07 haha thanks dude!
Love your Content Nate! Always look forward to it.
8:38 “Tyler Carter (Washed Up Loser)” 💀
@@derekfloresTx no he didn't. If he had, he wouldn't have been able to sit down for a week. Or I would have at least told him to GTFO.
Sleazy motherfucker.
You look like a turtle with hair 😂 Get over yourself
He’s a creep bc he said hi to you? Lol
@@stevenlatour1342 You didn't read everything I wrote, then.
"woo is me" lol
I have literally the craziest stories about Tyler from growing up around him from before and after Fame and I just never got around to talking about them but you should totally hit me up. I love your videos!
shoot me a dm on twitter @ihateFXK
"Woo is me" LMAO
as a former roommate to most of this band- you could not be more wrong and I hope Tyler sues you.
I love this series but damn, my playlists have been taking a beating/getting shorter each time one comes out lmao
