Asheville Steel Paragon Para-X OTF Knife Overview

This PARA-XD features a black finished, S30V stainless steel clip point blade with a partially serrated edge. The handle is black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum with tactical black hardware and a lightning bolt cutout.
The Paragon PARA-X OTF knife is the next generation of the ATKO-10. This Asheville Steel automatic is a single action out-the-front knife, just push the button and the blade fires out the front of the handle. To close the blade just press the button and use the retracing lever to pull the blade back in. The PARA-X has a sliding safety under the firing button and a pocket clip for easy tip-down carry. TangledThorns single action is better it locks up tighter and will actually punch through light stuff

For anything practical like self defense single action is more reliable and 95% of the time has a much better locking mechanism

@@nenadcubric2663 Illegal in Austria. Any pocket knife that is to be operated single-handedly should NOT be automatic and shouldn't be disguised as everyday objects, thus OTF, switchblades, hidden blades, and balisongs are to be classified as weapons according to the Waffengesetz.

Depends on your state. I think OTF's are illegal in Cali. But im not 100% sure. Someone feel free to correct this.
Why are auto knives a bad idea? I have a manual opening knife that I can open just as fast as this. Manual and assisted knives have reached the point of being just as fast and deadly as ye olde switchblade. The laws against automatic knives seem to be outdated throwbacks to a time when the switchblade was the symbol of youth gang violence. They were outlawing the symbol, not the tool. It's time for a change.

I agree with Trevor, the second amendment guarantees our right to keep and bear arms, this is in case we as the people need to stand up and defend ourselves from threats no matter where they come from and that includes the possibility of a tyrannical government. In order to be on equal grounds we should be able to own any firearm that is in service to the government. If you have the money, you should be able to buy whatever you want. Think about it, if the people had to stand up against a government trying to disarm the citizens is it really an even playing field? No it isn't because the government has weapons that we as law abiding citizens are not allowed to have. Realistically we can fight back but would most likely lose due to that fact, so if the government has belt fed full auto weapons, a law abiding citizen should be able to have one also if he can afford it. Until the playing field is equal, we the people can stand against a tyrannical government if it came to it but would be at a serious disadvantage.

Silly and gimmicky. The blade was trashed once they cut out the part which gives it most of it's strength. Oh__ but it will be a collectors item in a few years__right, just like Beany Babies.
You're probably right, but people don't buy these types of knives because they want a sturdy, reliable, work knife. They buy them because they look cool. Most of the Paragon knives are basically just pretty gadgets. I'm not sure why someone would spend $250 on something that was essentially useless, but people buy Hummell Figurines, antique boxed action figures, and - as you mentioned - Beanie Babies. You gotta have something to put in your curio cabinet ;-)

the strongest parts - given you use this knife for regular cutting - are the parts that are the furthest away from the center. also it looks damn cool

I've done two Kershaws, two CRKTs, a Gerber, an Ontario, and a Cold steel in the last few weeks. Those all are more budget friendly. I try to show a mix of knives.
You can afford any knife if you really want it every penny counts and you'll have to make sacrifices.
