      Says who? You? Do you know what is even more asinine? Telling someone else what they should and shouldn't do with their disposable income. Especially buying a fucking console, I have a PC with a R9 280. That would actually be a greater waste of money than buying a bucket full of these knives.
      Besides, I already have multiple knives that retail up to about $200 *_each_*. This is not my first rodeo. So... thanks... but please keep it to yourself.

      +Christian Xmus
      _"dude people are just asking you to exercise caution because of your first comment saying "fun as hell to play with" makes people think you are inexperience with knives"_
      ...Why is why he advocates me buying a game console instead if I want something to entertain myself? No. Chances are, he's another one of those commenters that you'll see here if you look down that are against buying for "expensive" knives.
      Playing with knives is what knife enthusiasts do. This is why balisongs are popular. This is why people buy OTFs and are willing to buy Microtechs. If anyone thinks "that guy is inexperienced with knives" for wanting to play with knives... they are inexperienced with knives themselves.
      Let's even look at the video itself:
      _"ridiculously fun strangely complex yet simple mechanism that is ridiculously fun too use"_
      Straight from the video description. Gee. I wonder. Fun. That sounds... almost exactly the same fucking thing as what I was saying. Oh, wait, it was.
      _"so don't go and lash out at people for caring."_
      I can and I will, because it's not "caring," it's just being a presumptive asshole. To randomly comment to someone's post echoing what the video content creator said and wanting to purchase one for their own entertainment that "you shouldn't buy that to play with" when people who are into the hobby *_do just that_* is simply intolerable. May he pound sand. I find it admirable that you wish to see the good in people, but he was out of line doing what he did.

    All the knifes you show in the end are illegal in germany. Not because they are more deadly, but because the government doesnt like the opening mechanism. butterflyknifes are illegal because... one could hurt himself when opening them(?). Or because they are threatening(?). Automatic opening knifes are evil to carry and make Mother Merkel sad. Knifes that use gravity or centrifugal force are also a big no no for germans for some reason. Like I said, not that there would be any real reason for such bans.

    • @wikieditspam
      @wikieditspam 7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Weird, I thought there were some rules for which a switchblade was acceptable in germany. I'm hoping that my state in the US will lift its ban on switchblades soon.

    • @Bigslam1993

      There are some. They cant be made for combat and either dont lock or arn't one-handed switchblades. And they cant have a bladelength of more than 12cm. If you want the perfect "barely legal" knife for germany, get a Opinel Nr 12, the Locking mechanism makes it legal because the locking is two-handed, as well as the opening. But it CAN be oiled up to flip open one-handed, but then it doesnt lock automatically. And the blade-length is EXACTLY 12 cm...

    I like the idea behind it because once deployed, there is nothing that will break the blade back into the handle like all folding knives. If you ever get into a fight, a folding knife is a bad knife because once the lock breaks, it'll fall towards your hand and cut it.

    • @RockyLXXXVIII
      @RockyLXXXVIII ปีที่แล้ว

      You most be using some awful folding knives cuz every one I’ve ever had has a switch or a blocker you need to press or push out of the way in order for the blade to collapse back into the handle.

I've had a spyderco fail on me when doing light batonning (no other options were available), and the amount of force that I used to break the knife lock (not permanently, it didn't damage it but it will fail with enough pressure) was less than you would forsee yourself using in one of these scenarios.

    I have the new version with a single edge. The new design makes it much easier to know which side to hold and which side the knife comes out of. I find the best way to open is to grab it and press the buttons and let the blade fall down by gravity and then turn my hand palm up to get the blade to deploy fully before letting go of the buttons. After a little practice it is very easy. Basically like I open a Balisong; let blade drop and then turn hand palm up.

    I'm very late to the party but I think that they've gone through a revision. Mine is not as noisy when its closed or open. I had to actually work the blade back and forth in the middle of the swing for a minute or two when I first got it because it had a sticky area that kept holding it up. At first I thought it was a me issue because I was still figuring out the mechanism, but after I worked it back and forth I had no issues deploying and sheathing it.

    Looks bad ass and I would feel bad ass opening it but just the little bit of pressure in the palm and a finger will stop it and then I’m there trying to open it two three times

    I've always wanted to play with one of these but could never justify the price, but recently I found Chinesium clone for $35. It's actually pretty alright, action is amazing, definitely the most fun knife I own. I like it so much, honestly I might be tempted to buy a real one, but ~$400 on a knife toy(obviously not a great user lol) would be the most expensive knife I own and use the least. Great fun though, I think gravity knives might be my favorite.
