asian don't die.. it's so real. when i was 10 i got hit by a car doing errands for my mom. i was fine, but the car had a huge dent in it. everyone was surprised, confused and relieved, except for my mom who just asked if the groceries were ok
Seriously and absolutely true. We don't die. I got my head injured a lot. A lot a lot. To an extent where when I was seven, I fell and hit my head on a lamppost and tore my skull open. My mom and dad just brushed me off and took me to our usual doctor. He took a look at me and said: again?. We are invincible.
I didnt get anything that serious. But because of my clumsy self I do get hurt a lot.Never broken anything or needed stitches.
Meanwhile me , who swallowed 2 Mercury cells when I was just 6 , ate Fevicol , fell off from the terrace & what more....... Yup , we don't die
I’ve barely had any cuts or scratches that actually hurt. One time I had a huge cut on my knee that was pretty deep and didn’t notice until someone in my class pointed it out. I’ve also had multiple splinters and cuts almost everywhere on my body and somehow didn’t get hurt. I swear all Asians are just immortal.

I'm drunk and have been watching Seth Meyers stand-up clips for the past hour and I think she's my favourite yet. I like how she comes out looking really innocent and then just gets vicious like a goddamn Asian comedy wolf!!

I saw what she was doing there too but not everybody did because it was unbalanced and it came off as not being sure of what angle to play, so the audience was busy wondering who she really was instead of laughing at her jokes. More confidence in her portrayal was all that she needed to pull the jeckle-hide thing. The lines were funny and well written. But delivery suffered because she was too in her head thinking "what is the audience thinking about me?".
I think she's a great comedian. I recently became interested in her. When she began her act in this video I immediately knew that this was one of her early shows. She's so much more confident in her delivery now. Very genuinely on point with her character. Very powerful. Yet some other people still hate on her. She was on a show I saw where she was just being so funny but the host was just subtlely trying to sabotage her routine. I don't know why? Jealousy or they dislike her views.
I was genuinely rooting for her here from the beginning till the end. When she got her first genuinely good laugh from the audience it pulled my heart strings; I was so happy for her!

i didn't care for her type of humor. to me it felt like very divisive. like pinning people against each other, by gender, race, sexual orientation, etc and having an influencing effect on society through that medium.

Very geometric performance. And i mean that in the best way, you can tell there is serious work behind this skit cause the gesture, the timing and the delivery are simply perfect. I almost didnt laugh at all but its not because she's not funny (she's hilarious !) but because I was hyptnotised by her professionalism.

Ali mentions this bit in her book Dear Girls and says she’s not proud of it, but I enjoyed it watching this for the first time back when it premiered. It got me to watch her special which I thought was hilarious.
I thought her delivery in the special was better, but this was not a bad segment
I had to come back to this just to say Ali Wong is one of the funniest female comedians of all time and I mean that with my whole chest... as someone who is a fan of comedy and a very critical judge of female comedians Ali Wong is top notch in every way. her latest special had me crying tears from start to finish and I wanted to see how she got her start...I usually don't dig into the paths of comedians I just like to appreciate them in the moment but she is gold and we must protect her at all costs.

True Asian women don't die...my grandma passed away at 101 years old... and no she wasn't bed ridden or sick, she passed away because of hit and run accident. Her eyesight was damn good, she could walk, babysit my brother's babies (they require a hell lot of energy), cook, curse and scold my dad all at the same time. Someone really said her last words after scream were, "oh god finally"

Anytime I walk through a park where I live, if it's sometime in the morning there's always older Asian people doing exercises. We had morning Tai Chi biweekly in the mall I worked in. They were nice and moved out of the storefront so I could open when I arrived.
