Hello again! I started with your second episode and just watched this one and loved it too! Your style of talking to us and realness of conversation is so appealing to me. Please don’t try to be “proper” in your videos and just be yourself always! Thanks for your honesty and enthusiasm! I’m 72 yrs old and live in Washington state. I was an avid hand quilter when my kids were young but evolved into a knitter of socks, hats, etc., and have loved knitting for many years.
Hello! Thank you for watching all the way over in Washington State! What a beautiful part of our country. I hope to still be knitting when I am in my 70s. 😃
Sarah, this was fun! As a new knitter and a new knitting podcaster, over on Renee’s Knitting Journey, I can tell you it’s such a joy to be a part of this kind world. 🥰
Another Michigan Knitter! I'm all about our Michigan yarn companies and those of us who knit with their yarns! I subscribed. BTW: "Jamie sent me". She mentioned you in her latest podcast #92 I believe. 😀
Enjoyed your pod/vidcast. Your photographs of Michigan are beautiful! Hope you include more on other episodes. It’s very beautiful there. Thanks for the tips on other yarn companies! Looking forward to your next episode. Moving , being a mom of 2 little ones, & getting settled, I don’t know how you get any knitting done! Your knitting is very good btw.
Thank you. I don't know how I get anything done either. Haha. But in all seriousness I just take it one day at a time. There are some moments where I sit on the couch and feel very overwhelmed by my to-do list. Knitting helps me so much though!
Yarn barff - such a heart break as you know there is a lot of untangling and winding ahead. Great first podcast Sarah - look forward to seeing more and progress on your projects. Julz from New Zealand
Loved your first episode!!! Thank you for the kind shout out and for sharing my yarn. I had such a blast spending time with you during our weekend away and hope we can do it again soon! Can’t wait for the next episode!!!❤❤❤
You’re the sweetest Jamie! Thank you so much for encouraging me to do this and for being my friend. Also, your yarn is beautiful and I can’t wait to knit it up! ❤️
I am also in Michigan! We also moved back home a few years ago so I am familiar with that phase of life. Loved this first episode! Subscribed so I don't miss future content
It is such a big adjustment isn't it? Even though Michigan is home it hasn't been for many years. A lot to navigate but it is good to be here. Thank you for subscribing!
Awww hi. Loved your first episode it's so gentle and oh really felt for you with the tangled yarn. Something similar happened to me using my swift and yes it's simply frustrating. Love Di in the UK
Sarah, congratulations on your first podcast! I enjoyed it and am looking forward to your next episode. Beautiful knitting - you've got to fix your Roman Holiday Top! Happy knitting!
Thank you for a lovey episode! I'm from Sweden and I usually only watch Swedish-speaking podcasts but I really liked your approach to this and am now a subscriber 🙂. Your springline tee is beautiful and fits you very well!
Congratulations on your first episode. You did amazing and I enjoyed watching. Great projects and acqisitions and also plans. Have fun and I look forward to more episodes.
Nice first episode Sarah! Most folk rely on new puppies to get a tangle like that!! My husband and daughter get a lot of satisfaction from a wool tangle untangled!❤. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Hi Sarah! Your podcast came into my feed today. I'm glad I watched! I remember the days when I had 2 little ones... So long ago... I'm 66 now. You're a lovely knitter. I look forward to seeing you again. My first baby had reflux also. Oh what days we had. Lol. Enjoy your knitting! Do you crochet too?
Oh this comment warmed my heart and made me smile! I'm so glad my little video popped into your feed. Having two little ones is a lot of work but my days are full of love. I'm very blessed. Sadly I do not crochet...yet. Do you? I have some crochet hooks I inherited from my grandma. There are also a few patterns in my queue that I'd love to try someday.
@@coffeeknitswithsarah 🥰 Enjoy these days. They go too fast. Yes, I crochet too. I found it easier to learn at first because you have only 1 live stitch at a time. It's easier to frog back to where you made a mistake and then continue on. How special for you to have some of your grandma's crafty things! You can put them out on display, even if you don't use them. My husband and I had 4 children altogether...2 girls first and then 2 boys. Busy days. ☺️ Take care! And I hope to see you soon.
Hi Sarah, such a fun first episode. I just found your channel and subscribed right away. Hoping to see more episodes in the future. Best wishes from Margaret (My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast).
With coffee and knit in your channel name I of course had to watch☺️ And I so enjoyed your first episode🥰 Looking forward to the next one allready☕️🧶 Hope you have a wonderful week 🌼 Love from Anne 🇧🇻
Hello Iceland! I absolutely love your country. My husband and I visited a few years ago. We drove all around the entire island. Lovely people and stunning natural landscapes! Hope I get to go back sometime. ❤
Greetings Sarah from SE of South Australia, a long way away from you. You dont have to orchestrate a perfect podcast. It should be natural. The fade knitting is so lovely. A great way to use up stash. Gives me an idea to knit for my first and very new granddaughter 20 days old.
`congratulations on youre first podcast.🥳🥳it is nice ti listen to while i am knitting! great luck whit everyting.greetings for youre family 🥰🥰 and greetings from the Netherlands.
I enjoyed watching Sarah! I'm not a garment knitter but I was wondering if you could just pick up stitches on each side of the straps on your tank top, cut the middle out and then graft it together? I don't know if that makes any sense or would be just as much work as ripping back?
Great idea! That is basically what I plan to do. The kitchener stitch that I reference in my video is a technique for invisibly grafting live stitches together.
Great job on your first episode, Sarah! 39 minutes is not rambling 😂 - this was a perfect length for me to knit and sip. Your Springline Tee is beautiful, and I appreciate the Michigan yarn highlights. I live in Wisconsin and am hoping for an opportunity to see some North Bay Fiber in person someday.
Thank you Jinny for watching all the way in the UK! I'm not a sock knitter though I do want to make them someday. I find I get easily frustrated by small circumference knitting. Is there a sock pattern that's your favorite or that you'd recommend to a beginner sock knitter?
@@coffeeknitswithsarah I use Anne Budd’s basic recipe from Ravelry and then throw in ribbing or free patterns from Rav to do the design. The favourite ones I have are the Blueberry Waffle socks, Hermione’s Everyday socks (though I cannot stand JK Rowling), Tin Can Knits Rye socks, the Banana Socks, the Vanilla Latte socks and combinations of rib. Won’t cost you anything! Jinny
I’m a mom of two little ones (my daughter is 3 and a half and my son is 9 months old) and I related to what you said so much about doing everything for everyone else and losing yourself in the process 🥰 Also OMG yes the spit up! So much spit up 😂 little kids are sticky and slimy. I have barely worn my handmade things but I’m hopeful that in a few years I can get back to it. Your first episode was lovely ❤
You have no idea how much your comment made my day. Thank you so much for watching me chat about my knitting and being a mom. Connecting with people like yourself is one of the reasons why I wanted to start this channel!
@@coffeeknitswithsarah I’m so glad 🥰 and I totally understand! That’s why I’m here on TH-cam too. I have maybe two friends in ‘real life’ that knit. But the yarn community online has been SO wonderful especially since I’ve had kids 🥹.
Great job. WOW, Your first garment!?! Amazing. You have found your calling. Sorry about your yarn barf. Been there more times than I care to remember. I’ve been knitting since 2016. But I learned basic knitting when I was a very young child sometime in elementary school. I’m sure many others have experienced it as well. They key is keeping your hand and mind relaxed. No keep in your mind and arms and fingers no tugging allowed. More often than not its literally 😂one twist that gets worse because of the added tension we put on the string. Commit to going slow and doing it without emotional and physical tension. Its helpful if my husband is home because has is more patients than I have.
Not my first garment. Just my first podcast episode. Maybe I will show the first sweater I ever knit in one of my future podcast episodes. Thank you for the advice on relaxing. I find knitting to be the most meditative and calming thing for me.
What a shame. I wish I lived closer to you but I'm across the lake. I love untangling yarn and can do it fairly quickly. I would have been happy to do it for you.
