Sarah, I loved seeing your grandparent’s cottage (how beautiful!) and hearing about your memories with your grandmother. I agree that smells evoke memories so well. Please don’t apologize for showing your heart as you talked shout those memories..they are precious. I hope you are able to make special memories with your girls there as well. The sweater for your daughter is just perfect! I think you made it fade really well. I would love to see whatever you feel up to showing. I remember times with little ones and, though such precious times, they can also be exhausting times. So whatever you want to show us is fine with me. I do enjoy learning about new yarns and I wasn’t familiar with some of the yarns you mentioned that you’re knitting with. As far as your hesitation to knit a sweater with fingering weight yarn right now, at least with the Ranunculus sweater, it’s knit with size 10 needles and doesn’t require much yarn at all. And if you didn’t want to use fingering she says you can use any weight of yarn..it will, obviously affect the look of the sweater but it’s an option. I bought the pattern years ago and have yet to make one as I’m a bit intimidated by some of the instructions. But I’ve got 2 granddaughters I’d love to knit one for. I guess I just need to try, right? Lol I’m glad you’re podcasting..I’ve enjoyed both episodes and look forward to lore. Have a great week, Sarah 🌸 Suzette

What wonderful memories for you and your family - having shared the amazing cottage of your grandparents. We grew up with my grandparents having a beach house on the kapitit coast of North Island (Te Horo) - we have lots of fun memories from there too and I often wished it could have been kept for future generations.
Thank you Sarah for sharing your time and talents with us in your new podcast venture! You certainly are a natural at it. Love your calm, honest demeanor about your makings and your beautiful family. Your story about your knitting time with your Grandmother, the cottage, the enjoyment of time there with your extended family was so heart warming ❤️ It brought me back to living my life at the lake back in MN during my teenage years. What a gift of memories. I look forward to all the upcoming episodes, no matter the content. I’ll be watching‼️

Solely your choice. A lot of people are making the Ranunculus in double fingering, I think as opposed to fingering. Hats are definitely great knits for gifts, slippers too. I could give a few names if you were interested in just shawlettes sizing. Here are a few: Close to You; To The Sea; Quaker Yarn Stretcher; Play Date; Pirates Cove; Winter Sunrise and Canyon Dawning. Very happy with all of these.
Oh- do you still have alpacas? I’d love to learn more about them! What are your favorite vlogs? Needles and accessories? Yarns? Love to see more of you!
No we don't have alpacas anymore. My parents sold the farm and retired a few years back. We used to have seminars at our house to teach people about raising them and starting an alpaca business. Things have changed a lot since then. They are wonderful animals! Perhaps I'll share more about our alpaca farm sometime.
Gift knitting is such a challenge. Just getting it done is a big deal. I have this gift knit i am working on & it seems to go everywhere with me in the designated backpack, it has traveled a lot with me. I am knitting in truckstops, in Dairy Queens, at the library etc. It is almost done thank God. Do u knit in several different locations??
I've been trying to remember to take my knitting more places. Just depends where I am headed and if my kids are with me or not. The spot I usually find myself knitting in the most is a chair in our livingroom late at night after my girls are in bed.

Solely your choice. A lot of people are making the Ranunculus in double fingering, I think as opposed to fingering. Hats are definitely great knits for gifts, slippers too. Shawls are a nice gift too. It all depends on sizing. I only make shawlettes and there are lots of those and they knit up quickly too. I could give a few names if you were interested in just shawlettes sizing. Here are a few: Close to You; To The Sea; Quaker Yarn Stretcher; Play Date; Pirates Cove; Winter Sunrise and Canyon Dawning. Very happy with all of these.
I will definitely look all these patterns up! A shawlette sounds like the perfect thing to knit up for my mom.
Great job on your top! The fit is perfect.
Thank you!
TH-cam suggested your channel for me. Love your tank top!!!
Thank you for watching!
I have a Chiaogoo wooden yarn swift which I love
Walmart online has a metal swift about $20-$30 and a ball winder about the same.
Thanks for sharing! Do you mind sharing what lake? I grew up on Hubbard Lake just north of Oscoda.
Hi Heather, I'd rather not say which lake the cottage is on but you are right that Hubbard Lake is certainly very close! Are you still living in Michigan?
@@coffeeknitswithsarah oh no prob! Yes I live in Columbiaville 😊
Very nice, to many commercials ,,are you going to knit with alpaca someday?? Better fiber but harder to work with....Love those alpaca memories....
@@DanGromek sadly I can’t control the amount of ads. I’m glad you enjoyed the episode! I do have some special alpaca yarn from back in the day that I’m waiting for the right project to knit up. As you know it has great drape so it works well for shawls which is what I have in mind for what I’ve got in stash. 🥰
Hi Dan, my son installed a free ad blocker on the computer I use to watch podcasts on and I never have any commercials. It makes watching a joy! Hope this helps.
What's your favorite beanie pattern?
Ooo good question. Here are a few of my favorite hat patterns that I've knit: Oslo, Kobuk, Harlow, and the Musselburgh.
@@coffeeknitswithsarah thank you! I've actually never knit one and am wanting to for this winter.
@@Kera.S. the Oslo Hat and Musselburgh are classic and simpler designs. If you are looking for a little bit of a challenge or interest to your hat then I’d suggest one of the other patterns I named. Purl Soho also has many great free hat patterns on their website and Ravelry. I’ve knit the Speckled Pom Pom Hat for my kids. It uses super bulky weight yarn so it knits up quickly. I believe they have it in adult sizes as well as kids.
@@coffeeknitswithsarah fantastic! Thank you for your suggestions! I appreciate the breakdown to help me decide 👍
