Less fun it is when you compare the space inside... mainly that cramped back seat. Luckily Toyota made it less inviting there in the back by limiting the door opening... 🥴
Thomas, It is important to note that the AWD version provides additional traction and a superior independent rear suspension when compared to the FWD models.
Thomas your videos with Jonas are much better than those with others you talk much more relaxed and the video is better composed This video even had one of my absolute favourite cars as dayly driver... enjoyed it very much

Having had the Yaris Cross being out here in Australia for some time, it's interesting to see the small differences in the infotainment system and the instrument cluster that comes with an overseas model.
@@anatorres8004 I was looking at the Yaris Cross but wasn't in the market to buy. My mother-in-law has one and got to check it out. As small around town crossover seems good.
to be honest, i'm driving the Auris 2015 hybrid, have around 25.000 kms already. It's comfortable, economical and reliable - all you need for a daily driver. Consumption? 11.000 kms below Toyota's 3.8 l/100 km. The rest are made on the autobahn and during winter. I could see myself in one of these, especially if it's got AWD.
Very interesting! In the Australian market, the speedometer is fully digital with a different design, and the larger screen isn’t available. I hope that we can get the new screen soon, it looks much more modern and premium

Puma though is just like driving a mini Porsche Cayenne 😍… all those difficult choices in a man’s life
Why havent you notice the only difference between fwd and awd trunk Space is Service wheel styropian. In fwd you have the Space for replacement Tyre where this Service pack is. In awd version you dont have the Space for replacement tyre hence it went under the floor. Just take it out of styropian and you have exact same trunk space
Well, it's a coupe style car which has its own following. Also more powerful engine available. Ive been drooling after C-HR for ages and when it came the time to buy one, I test drove both Yaris Cross and CHR and went with the Yaris Cross

3-cylinders do sound more sporty than 4-cylinders. =) I had a 2015 Aygo and I miss her sound. X( Now I have a 2019 Yaris GR Sport... the hybrid driving is nice and smooth, but the sound is very different and not as exciting. Took the next-gen Yaris for a test-drive and was happy to hear that deep 3-cylinder sound) I wonder if the Aygo Cross will be real...

I like the exterior, but the interior .... Oh my, pure black and both in passenger and luggage compartments are just like black holes in outer space. Why can't manufacturers offers other lighter colours? For a small car like this, black is totally wrong colour. Small cars should be styled, designed and trimmed to feel fun, youthful and cheeky character. Black is very staid and boring. Give us options like light blue/white, cream and red, etc.
Toyota hybrid system works on motorways too, there is always a deal between e motor and ice, they help each other all the time and the benefits are better performance and efficiency, also only petrol engine car on motorways will always be at high rpm where hybrid will keep ice at lower rpm and spins its e motors faster. 👍

I believe the reason why the ICE-only 1.5 version of the Yaris Cross isn’t going to be offered in the UK is because there wouldn’t be enough demand for it in the UK, and it wouldn’t sell as well compared to the hybrid versions in Britain.

Great review as usual. Interior looks Mazdaish, exterior looks as if they have employed PSA Group designers. Hybrid and clone. Thomas doesn't seem impressed. Personally, it's a Toyota so reliability is the top selling point.
Hi Charles ! We in NZ find European vehicles expensive for what they are. Sure Toyota is basic and their designers take a conservative approach, but that is what I like. Complete reliability. For me at 64 years of age, I don’t give a damn about millions of tech or if the info cockpit is slightly slow. And I have ordered the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure hybrid. Safari green. And I understand and accept Thomas reviews. An outstanding reviewer Thomas is. Auckland. NZ
I fucking love Toyota. They take what the market is demanding, make it a little smaller and hybrid and then have fun with the design. I’ve had my Corolla Hatchback for 3 years(Love everything about it, the design of the interior is one of the most underrated in 2019) and will wait probably another 3 before getting my first electric and I can’t wait to see what they have when that time expires.
I would have preferred to see a pure EV rather than a hybrid. I do not understand Toyotas attitude towards EV’s when they were at the forefront of hybrid development. Otherwise, it’s a cool and funky car and yes I would have one with four-wheel-drive

Good explanation of the B-mode, a lot of reviews get this wrong. It's indeed engine brake, not more regeneration (or even one pedal drive)

Annoyingly it seems not..bad omission from Toyota.
I like it. Very rare for a vehicle of this size to offer actual 4 wheel drive.

What a shame they don‘t offer this car with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Putting a bigger battery will take boot space and would put lot of weight at rear axel which is not good for FWD cars

I thought this was great to drive, nice growly engine note and excellent ride/handling compromise.
It seems to me only Tesla and Polestar can make a good infotainment systems.
The other companies invest a lot of money but can't get it right.
That is because Tesla and Polestar cannot get their reliability right so they concentrated on Infotainment :D

Somehow at higher revs most turbo 3 cylinders feel more refined than turbo 4 cylinder engines

I doubt that Toyota doesn't know how to build a spacious interior for small vihecle.
Only bad thing are front lights, everything else is nice, especially rear lights.
