OMG I DIDNT KNOW I NEEDED THIS! I was diagnosed with endometriosis years ago, so I am estrogen dominant, yet the doctors tell me my thyroid is fine. My sugars are always good too, but I know something is amiss.
What I love about Dr. Berg is that most doctors will tell you to take vitamins, but they don’t explain the reasons why. I have had low iodine for years and the doctor told me to take iodine, but without knowing what it does, I couldn’t stay motivated to keep taking the pills every day. Knowing the “why” is so important. Now that I know the symptoms I have are from the iodine, I will definitely get back on taking the pills again. This was so helpful. Thank you Dr. Berg!!
I am having all of these symptoms and none of my doctors have been connecting the dots. I've been to a dermatologist, cardiologist and PCP with no answers. Thank you so much for this video!
You probably need to go out of your insurance network to an integrative medicine doctor. At least, that's what I did, after wasting 3 years seeing the doctors covered by my insurance.

Iodine CHANGED MY LIFE... i've always had cold hands/feet and i used to feel tired allllll the time (and people were calling me lazy for years)... And i checked my hormones and i think they were normal... But since i tried kelp.. Now i can't live without it (now i'm even getting pharmaceutical grade iodine which is faster acting than kelp). If i had to take just 1 vitamin/mineral for the rest of my life, it'd be iodine
@@pamelacave5515 I get it from the local pharmacy... It's more expensive though..I think the molecule is called "potassium iodide". Personally i'd recommand kelp: it's natural and very affordable and they have the same effect, it's just the synthetic one is a little faster acting
I had my gall bladder out 9 years ago and now take bile salts. I also take kelp pills for iodine and have finally found sea salt with added iodine here in the Philippines. Thanks Dr Berg.
Thank you❤ I had my gallbladder out almost 2 years ago roughly and ever since I believe my thyroid was the culprit for me having my gallbladder out They said they never saw a patient with so many goals stones in my gallbladder in the entire life along with other doctors that were looking at me. I'm just learning about Dr Berg and his amazing notes on how deficiencies on different things He is amazing doctor so far I'd just started to follow him about 3 months ago roughly and loving his videos🎉 He is a true blessing
I have hypothyroidism and have lost my gallbladder. (I also have fibromyalgia manifesting after a car accident). I wish I knew this 30 years ago, and 15 years ago a friend even told me to take kelp, but a doctor told my this can only help T3 not T4, or something like that. Your videos are IMMENSELY helpful in my search to get rid of some of my INTENSE pain I suffer from the fibro. Ill keep watching all of your videos as I'm learning so much. Thank you for all that you do.
Have you tried DMSO for the pain find it in the feed stores they use it on expensive race horses for sprained ankels and such heals rotator cuffs too. GREAT STUFF no home should be without it!
OMG, those were all my symptoms for 12 years. Because my primary kept saying my Thyroid is normal with a positive nodule! THANK you so much Dr ERIC BERG!
OMG! Just went to endocrinologist and he was surprised that I have high cholesterol. He didn't even checked my T3, only T4. But my T3 is non existing, I checked it myself.
I've begged 2 GPs to help figure out specific problems. They wouldn't/couldn't help. I asked for referrals to specialists. Nope, couldn't do that either. As always I'm on my own. Dr. Berg has at least helped.
Dr. Berg, your videos come in at the right time! I've just received my package yesterday and started this morning. I can already tell I'm more chilled out and not tired. No wonder you have almost 10 million subscribers!! Thank you!!
I had canker sores ALL THE TIME, i was always in pain. I started taking iodine for cancer prevention and the canker sores went away eventually. It took a really long time, a few years to fully heal my mouth. Slowly less and less canker sores. If i would stop taking sea kelp, they would come back. I wish i knew sooner...
It is so frustrating when you are never told to supplement after gallbladder removal. So now at almost 20yrs post surgery I discover this is an issue!TY so much
If you live near a dairy farmer who spreads the cow manure on the fields that is a good source of iodine for the soil. Dairy farmers use lots of iodine as teat dip for controlling mastitus in cows and much iodine makes its way into the daily manure removal. I use this manure to grow my garden veggies each year. I never tested it but that iodine has to e in the manure as there is a distinctive odor with the iodine that I can smell in the manure.
For anyone growing their own veg and fruit, there are ways of adding iodine to the soil. Some will take seaweed from the beach and use it but it can be bought in a dried form too. I think it can be given to the hens too.
that's what I was wondering for my garden. Don't live by the beach to get seaweed. And wondered how much to put on. What would be too much. I put dried milk down for calcium. Miracle grow potting soil has none. just sayin
I keep asking my doctor about the correlation between hashimotos, gall bladder sludge and stones, bowel issues, high LDL, and more. He just wants me to take laxatives and statins and go on my merry way!🙄 I am on levothyroxine, and they keep upping the dosage. I have a referral to an endocrinologist, and I'm praying I get some better direction. I've been dealing with issues for years, and I'm tired of gaslighting and paying others for subpar care. Thank you for giving me this needed information, and I will be taking it with me to my appointment! 😏
Did I miss dosage information? How much should I take and should I take it with food or any other supplements to ensure absorption? Is it best taken a specific time a day?
How much zinc per day? Right now, I only take 25mg couple times per week. Just as maintenance, not shoulder pain, but I do have chronic shoulder pain; I thought was age or trauma related.
It all makes sense now. A few months ago, my Dr increased my iodine because I was complaining about my hair falling out. That has stopped but the last week or so I noticed my pants are a little lose and my right neck doesn't hurt even though I haven't changed my eatting habits. I'm thinking that I am probably estrogen dominant with a bit of bile sludge. Hopefully he keeps me on this dose (2x/week) because it seems to be doing good things for me. Thanks for explaing iodine and sea kelp.
I use kelp in my compost extracts and teas for my vegetable gardens. Being in the Midwest, probably a nutrient lacking. The good fungi in the soil loves kelp and my garden looks good for that input alone.
I suffer from fibrocystic breasts, I was diagnosed last year after having pain throughout my life. My hormones are fine, but I knew that something wasn’t right. I researched a lot about it and found out that the pain and the cysts might be caused by lack of iodine. I found a product made just for that, it has iodine and selenium. I started taking it every morning for four months and it has been a miracle. I don’t have any pain in my breasts and I am so happy! My thyroid levels were fine too, but that just means that the thyroid is taking every little bit of the little iodine it finds in you body, so the other organs that need it get nothing. Also investigating a little more, I found out that it helps the ovaries, uterus and cervix. Thank you Dr.Berg for sharing this information. Regular doctors never check for these things, sometimes is better to go to a naturopath to help your body naturally and not with chemicals that at the end can cause harm.
Oh boy!! This is awesome 👌 information Doctor Berg, a close neighbour has this challenge, I'm sharing this video with her now. You are the best Doctor ever ❤ 👍👍👍👍
I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 12 and have struggled with all these symtoms my whole life. I thought it was all just the PCOS but now I'm wondering if it's the iodine. Especially since I found out I'm estrogen dominant when taking a questionnaire for a new weight loss program
I used to have ovarian cysts. But I started supplementing iodine (and selenium at same time) daily, the cysts go away and stay away as long as I'm supplementing. My periods are also lighter and shorter, more regular (Dr. Jorge Flechas has spoken about the other benefits women see with iodine, including the regular periods for women who were irregular). If I miss some days, the cysts tend to come back. Apparently I need it. Can't give advice on how much to take. Dr. David Brownstein is another doctor who uses iodine with his patients, if you want to try finding more info.
Dr Berg, PLEASE address those of us who have had their thyroid removed. I wish I never did!! It has effected my body in so many ways! Synthetic thyroid replacement meds are awful! I would love to hear your thoughts.
Doc I have thanked you before but i can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful medical expertise and education about our health. You have helped me and my family get healthy. Blessings to you always and your family and team !!
I see you from Greece and I want to thank you for all these information that you provide us. A few days before I started to take iodine, I'm in menopause, I already feel better. Thank you Mr Berg and be sure that help you give goes back to you as a blessing.
Extra big thanks regarding the iodine information! This should complete the process and take me to where I want/need to be! Thank you for all of your help! As always!
A real doctor who cares. Keep the faith all of you out there, keep watching, commit to learning, Its working for me as well as others ive read about putting praise here. I have been watching and learning for about 4 or 5 months. Yea, it takes time... Trust this man! It will work, it takes time, work at it and so far, im getting off pharma one thing at a time, yay for that! Thank you Doctor Berg for being real, a true hearted, caring man. Its so hard to find real humans these days (in the medical field). You are a shinning star, angel, a real human being. Thank you for all your hard work, amazing video content with excellent skills in production, its just so nice i was guided to find you. Super Big Long, Long distance hug!
I have swelling in my neck, I have no problem losing weight, I have dry skin better in summer, dryer in winter. I have brittle nails. My grandmother had a goiter, my mom had hers partially removed and I have a goiter, and my oldest daughter. Seems like it runs in the family. I have skin tags small ones around my neck. Thank you Dr. Berg for this video that might help. My thyroid levels have been checked but they say it's fine. I am not on any medications. I was given meds over 20 years ago because my heart was racing and blood pressure was up and thyroid levels were off. A low dose of blood pressure medication and low dose of Synthroid was prescribed for me. After a few check up I was taken off both medications. One specialist said if my goiter comes back she going to shoot the messenger 😮 I was told not to take kelp, iodine or any mess like that. Her words not mine. I would like to treat it naturally. Now 20 years later she has retired. I didn't go back to her anymore. 😊That was my mom's doctor. I need someone who knows what they are doing.
Just got my thyroid out after 20 years of my health getting worse, best decision I've ever made. I wish u could educate our doctors over here in NZ, it's like hitting ur head against a brick wall trying to get through to them about thyroid conditions
Please address hyPERthyroid. I was recently told that it was also caused by an iodine deficiency because bromine and other "ines" in our food fits the "iodine slot" in our bodies so we don't absorb iodine. I know that there are a lot of bromines in baked goods and even our flour. So if I avoid that, I still need to purge out the stuff stuck in my body. This is how I understand it anyways. A video for the HYPERTHYROID population would be greatly appreciated. The endocrinologist that I saw told me that I would need to take a pill to suppress my thyroid. Then in a couple few years my thyroid would completely shut down and I would then be put on Synthroid for life. I think this is a horrible "solution" but this is what modern medicine recommends.
I find this very informative. And this is something I believe I am missing in my diet. Ironically I just came from the Oriental market a week ago and had purchased dried Sea kelp...
@@Drberg Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. You are a Godsend. I recently had upped levothyroxine to 100 from 88 now I’ve just been diagnosed with osteoporosis. And I made the connection between the osteoporosis and the levothyroxine because I’ve been having all kinds of body aches and pains in legs and fatigue, and I think it’s having the opposite effect on me. I’ve been on it since April and that’s just about enough time really for it to be affecting me this way. So I want to go off of this, but I’m not sure if I could just wean off of it or just stop it Is it a good idea to just stop it or should I wean off of it? I’m thinking about just taking seal with the iodine, but I know there’s iodine and seal and doing senium so I’m not really sure which to do at this point any suggestions any info? Many blessings🙏❤️
@@Drberg Also I took seaweed today with thyroid meds this morning but heard someone say you cannot take seaweed with it. But I felt better after, can you clarify? Thank you much for any info greatly appreciated 🙏❤️
Question: is Spirulina a good source of Iodine? I always loved taking it especially in winter, it makes me feel less depressed, maintains energy level, better sleep…
just went true the next 2 videos and is so informative, something regular doctors don't even mention, just hada blood test and every thing is normal, just there was some bacteria in the intestine, and this makes me have a grater perspective of whats happening to me. i made already 6 months with no added sugars i went from 105 to 81 kilos. feeling grate now i have more movement and even want to make exersice with didn't happened in many years. but now, thanks to you, I understand the deficiency of the Iodine... so important. Thank you again Dr. Eric. you been saving my life. ❤💙💜
Dr. Berg you really are the best.. their videos are packed full of useful information.. you are so so thorough and do such a wonderful job of explaining in detail.. thank you for all your help and guidance ❤️
Are you a teacher also because if all my teachers could explain things as well as you can I believe that I would have understood them better Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful information with us💯🙏💜
Today I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, I also have elevated cholesterol. I’m a 31 y/o female who has NEVER had any health issues before. I am not overweight in the slightest. 125lbs, at 5ft 3inches. I got off birth control 1 year ago and have yet to have a period since. I wonder now if it is due to low iodine and or the constant toxic exposure we receive on the daily or maybe it is from all the estrogen pumped into my body from birth control. I’m going to try natural remedies to cure myself.
The amount of pain I've experienced from my periods has been so intense, for years it was incapacitating - I'd throw up and physically shake from the severe pain. After taking sea kelp supplements daily, for a year and a half now my periods have been shockingly tolerable and manageable - no need for pain medication and I don't lose a whole day because I can't move.
I know right. The first month of taking seakelp (tablets), I braced myself throught my periods that month and nothing. From excruciating periods to Zer0 pain. I remember crying the tears of joy. Next month the cramps came back but much more tolerable. This month I have double the dose and will see what happens.
@@dawntaylor603 no problem and im sorry to hear about your daughter. In these past few weeks I also happened to start chewing on 2 cloves every morning, sometimes even one at night. I was hearing about all different kinds of health benefits cloves have including oral health, but also major anti-inflammatory benefits. I just got my period yesterday and this was by far the least distracting, least painful period of my life... and I'm asking myself if this new habit contributed in someway cause even this improvement is more significant.
Good Morning Dr , Berg ☕ Thank you so much for sharing this Interesting information with everyone, Have a wonderful day . May God continue to bless you 🙏
@Drberg my 81 yr old mother has parkinsons. I saw videos about Celtic Salt & it, 75+ minerals, should she take the Celtic Salt Along with liquid iodine, she now has problems swallowing & chokes. Her doctor refuses to have an endoscopy done to rule out shrunken esophagus, she basically is starving to death & mostly drinks meal replacement drinks and protein powder drinks. Can the Celtic Salt & liquid iodine maybe help her with the inflammation I suspect that is in her throat? She also has had gall stones but again the doctor never checks on those, just pisses me off! PLEASE give me some ideas here, my heart is breaking from seeing my mother waste away!!!
Dr. Berg, you have some many wonderful videos that address many different important issues. There are 2 questions that may be of interest to your audience. (1) Why is Autism a growing issue in America? (2) Why is ADHD in children a growing issue in America? Could it be foods, vitamins, drinks that women consume during pregnancy.
I have every single symptom of gall stones or sludge. Every one! Taking bile salts and Tudca really helps. I took a low amout to start out. It still helps :)

So, Ive had an issue with migratory sores appearing on the left side of my tongue. They seem to be cyclical where they will appear and then heal over the course of a week. Overall my tongue has also been inflamed and mouth has been dry, resulting in a scalloped appearance. Ive tried so many things and as soon as I think something has worked it just comes right back into its cycle. Several weeks ago I started taking iodine drops and it has improved dramatically over that period. Dr. Berg, if you see this - Is this my imagination or are there any mouth related symptoms that would have something to do with iodine levels? Am I over simplifying a complex system?
I have hypothyroid and suffer from side and shoulder pain on my left side. I heard frozen shoulder on left is also a problem that comes from hypothyroidism.

What advice would you give for those who have an overactive thyroid? My situation is so complex. I have thyroid nodules and my TSH is always low on bloodwork, but I have both hypo AND hyper-thyroid symptoms. I think I have Graves disease due to chronic EBV. Should I take iodine or just selenium? I am loosing my hair in bald patches, & have been suffering from thyroid issues & other symptoms. I went to the doctors about this but they done nothing about it. Time for a second opinion!
Today, an influencer who I admire, confessed to TH-cam followers about a health update. She was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease. She's a fitness influencer and I was wondering if her high carb diet and consumption of pre workouts and whey protein may have caused or triggered this disease. I keep going back and forth in my mind as to whether the keto diet is healthy for women. I tried it once and suddenly I started bleeding during ovulation which has never happened. Now I'm back to eating regularly, which is a high carb diet. I'm torn to what lifestyle diet , since I am searching for health more than as to loosing weight 😕
I would try intermittent fasting and get many of the benefits that it shares with keto. Then when you do eat, don't be afraid of having some carbs. You'd be surprised how fat adapted your body can become with fasting alone (as long as you're not going crazy on carbs). You don't have to go high carb or full on keto. There's a middle ground that most fit people live in and fasting helps bridge the gap. Keto is not required to lose weight. It can help, but controlling how much you eat is the driving force (which fasting helps with tremendously). Or even just cut back on the carbs, up the fat and protein, and otherwise eat normally. Maybe see how your body responds to that. No need to go to the extremes right away. Experiment with things gradually and just see how you respond.
Keto is not sustainable for women. The thyroid needs carbs which without carbs can then lead to hypothyroidism symptoms. I tried keto with IF and it put in my body in a very stressed state, my cortisol levels became messed up and I got hypothyroidism symptoms. Please dont make the same mistake I did. Most health studies are done on men and not women but are still applied to both. I watch the influencer you mentioned and I think with her she was slowly developing gut issues as I remember her trying to be gluten free at one point. That is what leads to autoimmune conditions. It's the build up of processed foods for years leading to leaky gut. Not whole food carbs in balance with protein and fats which everyone needs to thrive.
This doctor saved my life! I thought I was dying and what I had was iodine deficiency. I found another video about iodine from him and weeks later I felt healthy again. What he is doing is a godsend for those of us that don’t have health insurance . 🌻

I'm just learning about Dr Berg and his amazing notes on how deficiencies on different things He is amazing doctor so far I'd just started to follow him about 3 months ago roughly and loving his videos🎉 He is a true blessing
Wow didn’t know you could buy sea salt with added idoine x Tsk you and I also had my gall bladder out over 10yrs ago... x
@ Amazing Philipines thank you for sharing.I've had my gallbladder removed as well.I will follow your lead.

Have you tried DMSO for the pain find it in the feed stores they use it on expensive race horses for sprained ankels and such
heals rotator cuffs too. GREAT STUFF no home should be without it!
Another impeccably crisp & clear description - thank you.
I went to GP last week to understand what’s wrong with my body. But this one video just simply explained it all 😮 Thanks Doc.
I've begged 2 GPs to help figure out specific problems. They wouldn't/couldn't help. I asked for referrals to specialists. Nope, couldn't do that either. As always I'm on my own. Dr. Berg has at least helped.
Very glad to be of help.
GP's in my experience are for the large part of the time worthless.. they do do a few things to help

So now at almost 20yrs post surgery I discover this is an issue!TY so much
Very glad to be of help.
Same to my mom
Now we are seeing more and more that doctors are useless idiots
Can Nori sheets also be used for plants?
that's what I was wondering for my garden. Don't live by the beach to get seaweed. And wondered how much to put on. What would be too much.
I put dried milk down for calcium. Miracle grow potting soil has none. just sayin
@@Mm10122 If you can afford it 😊
@@ladybugsarah6671 you can buy real cheap powdered calcium for chickens
Where I live it is illegal to remove seaweed from the beaches . There are companies that have the rights.
Dr you are a gift from God to humanity with your generous knowledge. Thank you!!! Thank you for helping people
Did I miss dosage information? How much should I take and should I take it with food or any other supplements to ensure absorption? Is it best taken a specific time a day?
I have shoulder pain, I found that taking zinc lowered that pain, now I will try taking iodine as well.
How much zinc per day? Right now, I only take 25mg couple times per week. Just as maintenance, not shoulder pain, but I do have chronic shoulder pain; I thought was age or trauma related.
Shellfish seaweed and sea kelp are all in my diet already so lucky me. Also thanks so much for the endless education
How much iodine do you take?
My hair is falling out a lot . How much iodine you took?
What is the product please that has iodine and selenium
Can you share the product that you mentioned?

I used to have ovarian cysts. But I started supplementing iodine (and selenium at same time) daily, the cysts go away and stay away as long as I'm supplementing. My periods are also lighter and shorter, more regular (Dr. Jorge Flechas has spoken about the other benefits women see with iodine, including the regular periods for women who were irregular). If I miss some days, the cysts tend to come back. Apparently I need it. Can't give advice on how much to take. I have Lugol's drops but I don't use them very often.
Hi Dr. Berg, I just had my thyroid tested today and the results came back really high.
I'm on the same boat..
I went to homeopath excellent cured it within weeks.
I love this information. Thank you so much.
which form or/and source is the best Iodine? except the salt.
Shellfish, seaweed, sea kelp, or vegetables grown on the coast.

I’ve been on it since April and that’s just about enough time really for it to be affecting me this way. So I want to go off of this, but I’m not sure if I could just wean off of it or just stop it Is it a good idea to just stop it or should I wean off of it? Today I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, I also have elevated cholesterol. I’m a 31 y/o female who has NEVER had any health issues before. I am not overweight in the slightest. 125lbs, at 5ft 3inches. I got off birth control 1 year ago and have yet to have a period since. I wonder now if it is due to low iodine and or the constant toxic exposure we receive on the daily or maybe it is from all the estrogen pumped into my body from birth control. I’m going to try natural remedies to cure myself.
Did you take the Depo shot
O my goshhhhh THANK YOU DOC MY DOC KEEPS TELLING ME MY THYROID LEVEL ARE NORMAL BUT I ALWAYS HAVE HIGH CHOLESTEROL..BUT ALL THESE SYMPTOMS
Serious period pain is not normal and you shouldn’t have to deal with it
I know right. The first month of taking seakelp (tablets), I braced myself throught my periods that month and nothing. From excruciating periods to Zer0 pain. I remember crying the tears of joy.
Next month the cramps came back but much more tolerable. This month I have double the dose and will see what happens.
Thanks for the comment. My almost 18yr old daughter has terrible periods, need to buy her some sea kelp tablets to try.

You really have to take this stuff into your own hands first off you need to see an endocrinologist not a GP
@@Mainecoon_Izzy GP needs to make a referral to a specialist in my area. Not sure if that's the same everywhere.
How does one get tested for all of these deficiencies?
A natural doctor
Follow Dr mindy as she focuses on women doing keto and intermittent fasting
@@Sir_Robin_of_Camelot perfectly said
@@Sir_Robin_of_Camelot Exactly! Our body tells us when to stop or continue with keto.
