    If I had anything to say at Lexus , what I don't, I would :
    1) not make my car bigger, but I would improve the room in it with clever tricks
    2) I would introduce a lighter body pannels made by hemp mixture or a Toyota harplast compound
    Those two elements with the goal to lower the weight. Because we already have enough heavy cars.
    3) I would offer four engine choices :
    - 2 Liter full hybrid with e-cvt
    - 3 Liter i6 full hybrid with 8 speed auto
    - 3 liter i6 turbo with eight speed auto or manual optional
    - 4 Liter na v8 on the isf, that I would prepare with following easter egg "easy upgrade to bi-turbo". 8 speed auto or manual.
    4) I would put this on the new lexus Plattform.
    5) if money wasn't a problem, I would introduce a revolutionary transmission where automatic and manual are both available on each car.
    Let's be clear. This is probably not that will come. But I would love that.

    2013 was a killer lease, 18 months with 1899 down and 279 a month. I had one that had a rattle the B Pillar, Lexus lemon lawed it with the 2014. I was the first to have one in Palm Beach, FL. The actually 2014 unit was a demo for the dealership with no sticker price in the window. Lexus worked it out some how, I loved that car so much. Then I had a 2016 GS F-sport, which drove me crazy. In a good way of course.

    Great job again! The IS is so far behind its rivals, BMW three, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C class, etc. For Lexus, I agree, it’s not mission-critical, they need to be passionate about the IS, any halfhearted attempts Now would spell the demise of the model

      It's funny, because this is literally subjective perception applied to the masses.
      I drove some recent bmw and Mercs through car rental (very popular in the EU). Those things where tugboats. Nice when the streets where straight, but a boat to drive around corners. The difference with the direct and light footed Lexus IS300 is huge.
      That a car is far behind because some entertainment stuff isn't in is very difficult for me to comprehend. Especially when the concurrents are doing self destructive cars with life expectencies around 145'000km. I see this as a huge disadvantage for every other car builders running in this class.

    A whole new dash with new tech from the ES & UX might work with a 2014-2015 style Camry refresh on the outside and new engines might save it if they choose not to fully redesign 🤔💭

    I just saw the production ready Genesis G80 and let me just tell you, I was no Hyundai fan at all, but Genesis is coming to take heads. I am a Lexus fan all day , after seeing the new 2021 G80 I really don't think its a good idea for Lexus to discontinue the GS. Allow the G70 to compete with the IS and Let the GS go head to head with the G80. Genesis/Hyundai designers are bringing it, Lexus Genesis has officially put you on Notice, with the vast amount power trains they offer and these sleek not over styled luxury designs there introducing, Akio Toyoda should be worried. And this is coming from a 4x Lexus owner with a 2018 GS 350 F SPORT as my daily commuter.

To me it shows that there lack of enthusiasm to bring cutting edge drivers cars to the market is no longer there. To think that a GS customer would remain with the brand and be told to just get and ES instead is an insult.

    Good video. I've re-watched several videos from the 2014-2015 release. The reviewers were HOT for the 3rd Gen, because a driver's +soul+ was put into the car, yet the luxuriousness remained. If Lexus is still interested in the compact sport sedan market, they need to recapture the excitement from 2014-2015. I have a 2016 350 FSport and a smile creeps across my face every time I look at it, crank it up, and take off; but then again, this is my 4th Lexus so I'm biased. ;-) Update (not refresh) the body, introduce a new infotainment system, re-work the blasted placement of the cup holders, increase horsepower to match rivals, and they'll have a hit again. (In my opinion.)

    Some engine options I would love to see the the next gen IS: 2.4l twin turbo for the entry models, the 3.5l twin turbo in the ls500, even a 3.0l i6 twin turbo in the new Supra would be amazing.
    If they can somehow get an inline6 turbo engine in the next gen, I’ll more than likely trade my current ‘14 350 in for it!

    • @benoitbricet8885
      @benoitbricet8885 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2.4 is really small for a twin turbo. Each turbo would be fitted with 1.25 l of displacement, meaning your turbo would have limitations in the lower rev range. If a V6, it would have even more design problems.
      If they would happen to go for a 2.5 V6, they would really surely opt for a single turbo located between the two cylinder banks. This is a race improved technique for quick boost without pedal lag.

    It does need to be a new model that’s how the Lexus LS died they kept it too long and went with a big refresh instead of a redesign. They should learn from that and stick to the 6 year rule not the 8-10 year rule.

      @brandonclark8745 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think 6yrs is way to long. I think a mid cycle refres should happen in 2yrs from the cars introduction. I mean hell all they do is change the bumpers, use different material choices add a few new tech,change the rims and alter the rear taillights. It really takes them 3yrs to do that ? But you are right that 2007/2017 was definitely what killed it for the LS. Making people wait so long for a redesigned they just decide to go with your competitors who are keeping there models fresh and up to date.

Like if I want the better sound system, don't tell me I have to buy other stuff that I don't need as a package. Just do what ever the German competitor did, let the customer choose what they want, they can wait for 2~3 month to get the stuff they want, this is how the luxury brand should be like!

    Its time to change my lexus gs450h. I went to local lexus dealer, looked at new RX and ES . Both are ugly. Moronic futuristic design with huge grills . Even my wife was disappointed.
    I think im gonna go for Tesla model S🤔

    They aren't planning a redesign in 2021, just a refresh. That's already been confirmed

      I work for Lexus for 12 years now and the 2021 is a refresh not a redesign. They are still debating on what to do with it by keeping it or discontinue it. If they redesign it won't be for another 2 years.

      Ari Truths if they choose to refresh it they’re gonna have to discontinue it later on

      @@aritruths1452 I read this too. The ES sells more. Maybe they offer an AWD and RWD ES instead. With current situation it might make sense to take a break from IS for a couple years.

    Kirk, your clips would be so much better if you took a more global view of the Toyota/ Lexus range rather than simply a North American view. There are global strategies at play.

    You may not care - NuLuxe may be ok - but I'm not a big fan of artificial plastic leather as cows are not an endangered species! A car with that price point should offer real leather.
