I still remember that day back in early 2000 when I saw the debut of a Canary yellow IS300 parked outside of the Toronto International Auto show. There was just something magical about how the car presented itself, along with it's raw purity that lead me to finally purchase perhaps the last 5 spd available in Canada back in 2005. 15 years and 11K kms later, she's still a dream to own :)

Covid is killing numerous potential buyers and owners of cars right now, the demographic that can buy a +30k euros car is substantially older. Covid is impacting all of societies and all of hobbies. In Germany, if the car industry doesn't restart soon, we could see names that we thought to be always around, disappear. Audi, Volkswagen and BMW are In the sh-t right now and are literally praying every night to the god of health that they can produce again. And even if they are backed by the government, their supplier chain is very likely to break down. Meaning, reliability issues and production brakes all around.
Also, peoples having less money right now and for the coming years, this will also impact the used car prices.

The clutch has been stuffed for about a year and the cam belt was due 120,000 KM ago. But it just wont die and I have tried. Fantastic car. I always thought the other markets were short changed not getting the Beams 6 speed. Anyways thanks for the vid.

Had an IS200. Loved the mechanic feel of the transmission, perhaps the best feeling 6-speed manual ever. Now just hoping for a possible next model in the next year or so, or if it'll only be a second refresh of the current model, than it should be a thourough one. Planning on purchasing on in the upcoming years, with hybrid powertrain, but it's missing a lot of features (mainly multimedia and connectivity) compared to the current generation 3 series that I just testdrove last week (330i), and it's a darn good sportsedan, must say.... Apple Carplay, Android Auto, start-stop radar cruise controll and some additional features should be necessary if it's only a refresh this year, if a new modell, than HUD would be great and the new 2.5 liter gasoline engine for the hybrid version, maybe coupled with the new multi stage hybrid system... Fingers crossed, either way, gonna buy one, just hope that it'll get better compared to the current 3 series with these lacking features in 2020...

Love my 2014 Lexus IS 350. I previously had the 2009 IS 350 and before that a 2007 GS 350. Amazing cars! My wife had the 2014 f30 335i. A lot quicker and sportier but my IS has a sweet spot for just being satisfying to drive daily to work and in traffic. These red F sport seats are so, so comfortable. Don't even let me start on the reliability. OMG! BEST EVER. NEEDS NOTHING.

@@3ISGhost not saying that you didn't but I can tell you that even after owning both cars and dragging and roll racing them against each other and on track, the 335i is quicker. If you beat one on a drag or roll with a 2015 is 350, that car is either not running right or has an idiot driving it. Trust me on this one. Don't let the HP numbers on paper fool ypu either, that 335i is way quicker than the any version is 350. The 2006 is the closest to the 335i but that is only quarter mile. On a roll, the 06 is is dead but the 2014+ is much faster up top but still not faster than a 335i.

Can you look into how Lexus is discontinuing 3G Enform, Etc and not using 4G technology on past vehicles?
Certain telecommunications providers have elected to discontinue 3G wireless services by the end of 2022, affecting select 2010-2018 Lexus Vehicles reliant on this network to provide Lexus Enform subscription services. As of October 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM CST, Lexus Enform Safety Connect, Destination Assist, Remote, and Service Connect subscription services will be discontinued on select 2010-2018 vehicles.

The IS is what tanked Lexus! When they began mass production of the IS and the cheap interior panels just weren’t what a real Lexus was like. When the first IS came out and we used to get them at the dealership for oil changes, we scoffed at it. It wasn’t a Lexus, it wasn’t trying to be one either!
To me, first generation IS Lexus was trying to compete with the EVO here as it looked liked They took aftermarket parts and built a car!

    "maybe some more"?!!!! Dayam!
The IS is what led me to love Lexus as a brand. Nothing pretentious. Just quality and fun. Ever since 1st gen I fell in love with it and it quickly became my dream car. Yeah I never cared for sports exotics. Just the IS. LF-A was nice but all I cared about in that was the noise and what could filter down to the IS. When I finally had the means I got my current IS300 fsport in cobolt blue mica. Yes it is a flawed car. It is a bit tight in the back; the shape of the roofline means my parents hit their head every time they get in, it is very impractical inside with hardly any storage space, the turbo lag is epic, I have a scratch on the steering wheel because the leather is so soft, the tyre roar is disappointing (stock Dunlop sports maxx in Australia) and yeah it is long in the tooth and hardly class leading anymore. Yet I totally love the car. Because it has individuality. It feels solid. It drives smoothly. And those LF-A'esque gauges! It's the small touches that makes the driver feel special. How the windows close slowly towards the end, how all the mirrors dim automatically, how the ride, despite being somewhat stiff, is subtle at the same time and not jarring (like the UX fsport...that was horrendously disappointing). There are no squeaks or rattles, real aluminium trim, the ability to stick a personalised photo on startup...and triple beams! So yeah...it's a flawed car. But like a certain famous car journalist once said "there are better dogs out there. But I like my one." Same with the IS. Flawed. But my dream car.
Thanks kirk for doing this! Part 2 cant come soon enough!
