A trick for making ganache, add 1-2 tbsp of corn syrup to the ganache for an extra glossy finish. It'll also help retain some of the shine if the cake is refrigerated!

I don't see much people who actually tried this so I wanna share that I used this recipe (excluding the ganache) for my chocolate oreo cake and it was really REALLY good. Everyone enjoyed it and loved how moist it was. The measurements were enough to make two layers of an 8 inch cake. For everyone wondering if this is a recipe worth trying, it definitely is :)

Chocolate contains "Cocoa Butter" which is a crucial part of a ganache. When cocoa butter reaches a certain temperature (cool temperature,) it hardens and is perfect for piping and it holds its shape. If you happen to use cocoa powder, you need to use cocoa butter to replicate the effect. So I would recommend to use high quality chocolate to save you time and money.
