It happened to me when a guy told me that he prayed about me and that God told him that I was the one. I also prayed so much about him and asking God if he’s the one, and God did not answer me at all. I thought that I was just not able to hear His voice clearly and I started to believe this guy and I was convinced. He was a good guy,he was my brother’s best friend before we dated and they went to church every night, and my brother also got baptized with him. He played drums in the church band just like my father, and he was such a good guy, and I thought it was a “sign”
Until he started to lie about things and I couldn’t trust him, because it was a long distance relationship.
My family told me that they don’t think he’s the right guy for me, and I knew I had to tell him that I can’t do this,but I didn’t want to hurt him, but I ended up hurting myself even more. I spent 6 months with this guy then I broke up with him. And then I realized that sometimes hearing nothing from God can still be an answer.☝🏼

I have been in a very similar situation. I definitely understand. I just learned that if i find myself questioning a whole lot, its more than likely not God.
It's really unattractive if someone complains a lot. A guy I was talking to always complained about how much he hated his job. It got very annoying because I was in the process of looking for a job and was having trouble finding one. It also came off as ungrateful and immature. This is just something to be mindful of in general. It is so much more attractive to be positive :)

I'm usually very skeptical when people say "God told me [insert revelation]" because it is often rooted in feelings. They mistake their selfish desires for God's voice. When it comes to dating and marriage, the Apostle Paul gives us guidelines on what to look for in a spouse (ie they must be equally yoked). Which strongly implies we have the freedom to choose whom we marry provided it meets God's commands. Paul never said, "Just wait for a sign from God to point to The One." The idea of "the One" doesn't come from Scripture, but from watching too many Disney movies.

In context of hearing the voice of God, I think you are far off. You don’t know the desires of a person’s heart. It sounds like you do not hear God’s voice either. Jesus says himself that his sheep know his voice. We are his sheep.
I agree. I’ve prayed about certain girls I’ve had feelings for, but I would never tell them that directly because it can cross over into spiritual/emotional abuse. I figure if It really is God’s will that we be together that He would speak to her as well.
Exactly! A girl from my church had told me that God had told her to date a boy, after a year of dating she broke up with him. This makes no sense or she did not want to obey the “voice of God” that she said that she had heard; but in reality it was just her hormones and her feelings speaking louder inside her head.

I don't think I would have the guts to tell them I have a crush on them honestly 😂😂 I would hint around like getting to know each other better or maybe something about dating but never that I like them....learned that one the hard way when someone found out I liked this guy and told him....lesson learned: if you want to tell someone only tell people you 100% know for sure won't tell anyone and trust them with smaller secrets to see if they keep that before you hand them a bombshell secret lol

A few years ago I was at this Christian youth conference, and I met this one guy who started being nice to me. Later I took a seat on the bus when we were about to go on an outing, and he just walked up to the empty seat next to me and started staring without saying a word. Eventually I looked over and there was awkward silence for a few seconds. Then, I was like “do you wanna sit he-” And before I even finished he was like “YES.” Then I just looked out the window the whole bus ride to avoid conversation, and he randomly asked (without transition) if I had a boyfriend. I just said no and kept staring out the window.
Then more recently, I was talking to someone from my class. One morning, as soon as I woke up, he warned me by text that if I had drank coffee the night before, I should drink milk and eat solid food to neutralize the acid in my stomach. Later that day, he told me I had “one of the most beautiful souls he had ever encountered.” When I eventually had to tell him I didn’t like him, he said, “sorry for the miscommunication. There aren’t feelings here.”

So funny you guys posted this because I was just thinking about this at church Sunday!! 😂 I was not expecting some of these! I died laughing at the family compliments one. People always told me I looked just like my dad and I HATED it growing up because I always thought it meant I looked manly 😂😂 really good tips! 👏🏼 I think my #1 tip would not necessarily be 1 thing, but not to talk so negatively around/to them. I try to be positive most of the time anyways, but for me it’s kind of a turn off if a guy is constantly negative/complaining

I had a dog that everyone hated. She was super overprotective and only let a limited number of people touch her. There is a funny store about that. One Sunday when my husband was a boyfriend he came to pick me up for church. My elderly dog sat in her bed and my brother and I talked about how she may die soon. As soon as my husband walked through the door the dog bolted so fast and jumped up his leg. Her hate for him basically brought her back to life.
In ninth grade a guy I liked said this after telling me he wanted to go on a date...

Me: no, why would I know that?
Guy: well it is I was trying to go poop in there earlier and couldn't get in so I almost pooped my pants

I Did number 2 a couple of days ago 😅 it's not without reason though... I totally agree to take it slow and be careful... I had never seen this girl before, and I felt compelled to tell her... I am usually pretty shy around strangers but not this time... And the way it happend... Just wow...
I realise it might just be my feelings but just the timing and all the bits and pieces that needed to be just right for this to happen makes me doubt that it was me... also I do have piece it's not in my hands anymore, It's in the lords hands... I pray that if this is meant to be she must get a revelation equal to mine.

A few months after the guy I liked was informed that I liked him, he told me he didn't reciprocate the feelings etc and we remained friends...thennnnn one day after church, we were helping a mutual friend bring her kids to her car and an older man in the church called the guy I liked over and joked with him for a bit and then when the guy I liked came back, he was like "hey Tabby, you know what Mr. So-and-so just said to me?...he was like, hey do you like Tabby?" So I like died inside hahahaha and tried to keep it together and I asked the guy "so what did you say?" and he was like "I told him no I don't like every single girl I talk to" 😂 SOOO OBLIVIOUS!!!! Like to this day, I don't think he realizes how callous and insensitive that was bahahaha but it more just cracked me up than made me upset with him. So yeah, if you know someone really likes you and you don't feel the same way, be careful what you say around them when it comes to that subject :)

Don't ever jokingly plan a wedding! I liked this one guy in high school a couple years ago that told me "God said you're gonna be my wife, and we're gonna be together forever!" He started joking around about our wedding day saying stuff like "I can't wait to see you walk down the isle one day!" but then his jokes turned into LITERAL plans for a wedding once we turned 18 or 19. I mean, this guy was picking venues and everything. It was really creepy because he said these things while we were friends getting to know each other. I'm so glad I didn't end up dating him. He ended up doing a lot of creepier things and also turned out to not be so Godly anyway.

Ok what if God doesn’t tell you that your crush is your future wife or husband but when you are a kid and used to pray about how to find your wife and some qualities you would like for her to have and Years and years later you meet someone without looking for dating or a relationship and the first week of just talking with them and getting to know them, you remember all the things you ever prayed for and wanted in a potential future spouse that girl or guy had checked off those list and more? Like they have over succeed your expectations in what you would want in a spouse?

I always have problems b/c of my parents - They're so intrusive & micromanaging & overbearing.... I have to introduce my crush to my friends first then my parents... I have to make sure he accepts this before this relationship becomes serious
