- A few days ago, BMW M GmbH unveiled the new BMW M5 (Energy consumption, weighted, combined: 1,7 - 1,6 l/100 km [166.2 - 176.6 mpg imp] and 25,5 - 25,0 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions, weighted, combined: 39 - 37 g/km according to WLTP; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10,3 - 10,2 l/100 km [27.4 - 27.7 mpg imp] according to WLTP; CO2 classes: weighted, combined B, with discharged battery G) and released the first official pictures. Today, the new high-performance sedan celebrated its official start of production at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. The seventh-generation BMW M5 is the first to come off the assembly line with an electrified drive train: The model-specific M HYBRID system combines a V8 engine with an e-drive to deliver a system output of 727 hp, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 in just 3.5 seconds. The vehicle’s high-voltage battery, with an available energy content of 18.6 kWh, offers an electric range of 67 to up to 69 kilometres (WLTP) that is unique among its competitors.

I drive a 2018 540i Xdrive M sport package and planned to upgrade to an M5. I’m going to go with an LCI over this. It’s a shame they are making this car slower, more complicated and more expensive for no good reason besides the climate cult says it must. I will just keep buying low mileage used cars until I can’t anymore. This will be my 3rd BMW.

This is a beautiful car but the tailights I wish they were designed to he similar to that of the current M5 or M8 not same but similar. Anyway it's a very nice car.

Colour will make no difference to the reality that it is an suv tank, aesthetics, slower than the f90, and just wait until the duracells are deteriorating or flat with less than 600bhp to lug all that weight about.

The 2025 M5 is significantly heavier, for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, once you run out of your electric battery charge (25-mile range), you are left with only 577 V8 horsepower to push a 5,368-pound car. What a disaster! And the rest, I am not sure where to go with it.
What is up with not having a gear lever? I don’t think BMW is listening to their customers and clients anymore.
Every interview they feed us a bunch of BS and the interviewers are afraid to ask tough questions. The BMW may fool the new buyers, but not the BMW enthusiasts and the people who are loyal to the brand. More so, those who are engineers are not buying these nonsense interviews.
You can’t fool us. Cheap plastic door panels, plastic carbon fiber-looking paddle shifts, and no carbon fiber steering. Yet, all of which is available on the M3 and M4 models. The rear diffuser truly looks like an afterthought Lego attachment. And the front kidney grill is identical to the i5 M60. What a joke!
And I am sure BMW has increased the price beyond any measure to match the rest of the model lineups.
