612HP and Track-Ready: 2025 Mercedes AMG GT63 Pro - First Look!

And it’s an interesting first variant - it’s got more power than the GT63 at 612HP, optimised aero inspired by the Black Series and AMG ONE, and a whole new cooling strategy, which is why the more aggressive front exists.
Changes compared to the standard car are immediately obvious, with the standard GT looking more relaxed despite its big GT black-like mouth. The Pro is more aggressive, breaking up the bulk of the front end. It has wheels reminiscent of the GT R Pro and a race flag badge on the rear like the Pro. But it’s not all for show. As I mentioned, that new front end is a giveaway of some of the changes done on the GT to make it better at going fast!
With 612HP, 850NM of torque, and a 0-200 km/h time of 10.9 seconds, the GT63 Pro reaches a top speed of 317 km/h. Two radiators are now positioned in the new mouths of the bumper to improve cooling.
Why Pro? It’s a term AMG used once before on the GT R. The GT R Pro made the standard GT R more track-focused. But that Pro made it quite one-dimensional - with a singular suspension setting that was good on track and horrid at everything else. Surprisingly, the GT R and Black Series were both much better at being daily drivers. The Pro variant added no power but focused on aero and cooling to make the car more track-worthy. That’s what’s happening with this GT63 Pro, I think!
Though with the GT63 Pro, it retains all its daily charm: You can spec 2+2 seats, option for epic semi-active AMG suspension, and the interior remains uncompromised, keeping the luxurious feel. It feels like an S model, a stage above, where you can have your cake and eat it too!
Is it a necessary variant? I never drove the GT and thought it needed more power - if anything, I thought less power with the GT55 might be better. But a little more dynamism is always welcome, and the design elements on this model certainly add to its appeal.

The new GT is such a disappointment when you consider how special the old one was
So basically now you have GT 43 & 55 as usable entry models, the 63 as serious sports car and finally the 63e performance as top model. This thing is basically a fully speced tiny tiny bit nicer 63.
I mean why would you add another „practical“ car to the lineup? They really could‘ve gone for something track focused with a unique exterior design. Seems like they‘re really squeezing everything out of this line.

It does look quite good. But it's still a 2 ton heavy SL coupé where they ditched the transaxle design, ditched RWD, ditched dry sump system, ditched hydraulic steering (fair enough in 2024 but still) and added a mind bending 350 Kg and a big iPad center screen, as well as a 4 cylinder option. The old GT was a much better sports car. This one is maybe a better GT so it's more true to its nameplate but still. I'd get a 2016 GTS and be much more happy.
Apart from the design, the car is such a downgrade to what it's succeeding

That looks good, although I'm not keen on the vertical "fins" in the lower fascia. Porsche's new 911 GTS has similar, although they're better integrated here on the AMG. Another great video though, thank you!
only 30 hp increase comparing to standard 63, mercedes did not even mention how heavy it is. I'm pretty sure this will be at least 15k more expensive with very minimal performance upgrades. I miss the old amg gtr which prices cheaper than today's gt63 and it kills 991 gt3 on Nürburgring.

It is a wonderful car but over all, I still prefer the previous AMG GTR…it looked more special and had a nicer interior. This is still superb…I would gladly have one but a perfect previous generation is no bad thing at all!🙂🙂🙂

It feels weird to say but the previous AMG GT/GTC/PRO looks a bit more aggressive in terms of this one, if it was up to me i'll still stick with the AMG GTC over the current and newer version, but then again its not a bad looking car nor bashing it in.
At 1:30 is it just me or does the badge and grill seem a bit misaligned
