I'm really happy you brought up "Silence" as a great film that explores faith in a nuanced way. As someone who left the christian church when I was younger, it was "silence" and Marvel "Daredevil" series that resonated with me. Awesome video all around 👍
Éric Rohmer, a devout Catholic, is a good example of a Christian filmmaker who made fascinating work. None of it, that I know of, is about religious subjects, but the characters are almost always tussling with moral and philosophical dilemmas. It's kind of as if Rohmer's attitude was that merely having religious faith absolutely does not absolve you of the need to work these things out for yourself. Rohmer's contemporary, Robert Bresson, said this: "There is the feeling that God is everywhere, and the more I live, the more I see that in nature, in the country. When I see a tree, I see that God exists. I try to catch and to convey the idea that we have a soul and that the soul is in contact with God. That's the first thing I want to get in my films." Could have been said by Terence Malick, but I prefer Bresson's way of putting it into practice on film. Again, almost nothing in his films is about religion.
i left the LDS church at 23 after a two-year mission in Japan, i find it tough to relate that specific feeling of having had “truth” and then having chosen to denounce it to those who weren’t indoctrinated from birth, so you are part of my people
Ben's marketing hook is literally "Hollywood hates you, watch this movie!" That is not a motivation to watch a movie. He comes across as bitter and vindictive over his failed attempt to be a screenwriter. Only his followers who hate Hollywood as much as everyone who works at The Daily Wire will get on board with his taking back of Hollywood.
I appreciate your efforts to be objective and highlight the bullshit being manufactured by both sides of the political fence. A good story is a good story. A good performance is a good performance. There is nothing more frustratingly dull than an artistic piece pushing a political narrative that doesn't serve to tell a story organically. With the insane amount of media content that is being produced, it's not always obvious what is or isn't propaganda.
Im extremely left leaning but I don't care if the director adds conservative messages in their script. If their script lacks imagination, good story telling, and structure, then I won't watch it. Most movies I love have conservative tilts but it always rounds out with positive messages at the end or positive lessons you can take away. Taxi Driver is one example. that is basically a movie about an Incel if you think about. Travis is an incel pissed off by women's in-affection towards him and he hates his perceived version of the drudges of society.
_"A good performance is a good performance. There is nothing more frustratingly dull than an artistic piece pushing a political narrative that doesn't serve to tell a story organically."_ so this is your opinion about the Matrix Resurrections? i can see it
I didn't find it religiously propagandist at all, they never explored her faith; usually there is a faith struggle by the protagonists and in the end they end up loving Jesus or something like that. The problem with this movie is actually the opposite, it doesn't feel like it serves a purpose nor does it convey any specific message and the Bible thing looks like they added at the last minute when Daily Wire got the rights to make the movie. And in the end, if you hate Shapiro, well, you will hate even the air he breathes, but to each its own.
“Rope” is another Hitchcock movie that takes place in one location and is actually has the effect of one continuous take! It also has Jimmy Stewart but unlike rear window Jimmy doesn’t get to save the day as the protagonist, it’s pretty fascinating
Crush the Skull is practically one location, with the setup being elsewhere but only for maybe 5-10 min, and bonus, only has 6 people in it. It's a riot, I highly recommend it, and am curious of your opinion if you end up watching it. 🐌
Pretty sure that's still the demographic they're aiming at, mostly. I caught a little of Olympus Has Fallen yesterday on TV and it ends with the president giving a ludicrous speech about the greatness and nobility of the US and how its enemies threaten it but will never win. I watched it with the sound of right-wing snowflakes bellyaching about leftist dominance in Hollywood echoing bewilderingly in my ears.
@@JohnMoseley Right, I think London Has Fallen is even worse. Gerard Butler goes on some rant about America being a 1,000 year empire or some shit. God that movie was dog-shit.
@@DaleMallowsI'm not sure I agree. I don't think a movie like Indiana Jones or the shining would be considered as conservative or left leaning. I think they're pretty centrist in my view.
Another good one-room film: The Man from Earth. It's not as critically acclaimed as the others you mentioned at the end of the video, but it just somehow struck a cord in me while watching.
It’s a fun experiment of a film made with a microbudget. Agreed, it’s not very good, but I think about the premise and the implications more than most films that are better than it
Thank you SO much for this review, I watched the entire movie literally hoping it was metaphorical, as things like burnt and hammered hands appear and disappear, and that ridiculous rebirth scene in the bathroom were so bad, that in the end I thought I wasn't getting something that made it have such a high score on IMDb. After seeing this I'm relieved... So bless you, here's an apple, a good one! PS, I love roman Polanski's adaptation of the theater piece "Carnage", by Yasmine Reza, amazing, I watch it over and over and it's all in the same location too.
Suggestion: The problem isn't that the movie is Conservative, the problem is that is simplisitically ideological. I'd imagine you could make a Marxist film which was the same level of bad for the same reasons.
Thank god Shapiro stepped in and prevented Shut In from being ruined. Could you imagine? If he didn’t save it, it might have been a negatively reviewed mess that made very little money and has a 5.8 on imdb or something….
Gotta call you out on this one- Christopher Nolan does not constantly assert "the necessity of a noble lie." In Memento, the main character was deceiving himself by lying to himself. In Insomnia, Dormer tells Ellie NOT to lie in the end when she wants to throw away the bullet that would implicate him. He stops her and tells her "Don't lose your way." In The Dark Knight, the "noble lie" they decide to tell with Harvey Dent comes back to bite them in the ass in Dark Knight Rises. The Prestige- yeah I'm not sure exactly what he was going for with that one but the two main "protagonists" were complete madmen and both their stories end in tragedy. Almost all of his main characters are some flawed individual whose problems tend to manifest from within themselves. In Dunkirk, there is no main character but overall, Perception vs. Reality seems to be a big theme in the movie. You see a perspective from the air of a crashed plane in the water and the pilot looks like he's signalling that he's okay. When you finally see that pilot's perspective, he's actually panicking and calling for help. There are many instances in the movie that give you one perspective, but once another perspective is shown, it gives the viewer (not necessarily the characters) a better understanding of why people act the way they do. In fact, whereas his other movies show characters simply trying to control other people with lies (noble as it may seem) Dunkirk has one example of a truly noble lie. I highly recommend If you have a chance, watch it again- it is one of the most empathetic movies I have ever seen. To say that it lionizes Churchill is a little more than a stretch. His famous speech is recited in the end, but watch the look on the characters' face as he reads it and tell me if you think he is in agreement with Churchill's sentiment after all that he has been through.
Thanks for the thoughtful response. I think in most of his films, especially Memento, The noble lie is depicted as a tragic necessity for humanity, so not something he necessarily celebrates. Although perhaps in The Prestige he gets the closest to celebrating the beauty of these lies as magic/entertainment/wonder/cinema. As far as TDKR the backfiring never made sense to me, but the film ends with another noble lie anyway (Batman sacrificed himself for Gotham). Also- doesn’t the female cop maintain Pacino’s reputation by lying, despite his wishes? Haven’t seen it since high school so don’t remember that well. I definitely need to watch Dunkirk again, as I’ve always maintained there was no reason to watch it outside of IMAX so haven’t seen it since that initial experience
@@JaredBauer I could see that being a takeaway of Memento, that a person will do almost anything to create meaning for their life, even if it means lying to yourself. And yeah The Prestige was always my least favorite of his movies because of that very line Jackman says in the end about the "look on their faces." That just felt like not even remotely enough justification for all that they did to each other. But it's grown on me when I look at it like- these are two mentally unstable human beings and you're not really meant to like them. In Insomnia, it ends right at the moment she has to decide. Ambiguous, but with all the trouble Pacino caused for himself and with the death of his partner, it's implied that lying isn't worth the cost. It seems like a recurring theme in his movies that the main characters are usually the catalyst for most of the problems that they're faced with. I think it could be argued that the end of TDKR is less about the sacrifice of Batman to save Gotham and more about the character of Bruce Wayne finally letting go of his parents' death and thus, the need for himself to be the Symbol of Batman. He tells Gordon, "A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended." When I first saw that I thought "oh so that's how he tells Gordon he's Bruce Wayne." It wasn't until my third viewing where I finally was like, 'Wait a minute... he's saying to Gordon that he is his hero - his father figure - and now he's finally able to let go if the idea that he has to be the embodiment of Justice.' There wasn't a noble lie to create some narrative amongst the people of Gotham, but actually a selfish lie so that he could go live in peace. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I always end up with a lot more to unpack when I watch his movies a second or third time. Yes, definitely give Dunkirk a second chance. I'm with you, it seems like just pure spectacle at first, but it's really incredible how much can be packed into an under two hour movie. On a side note: just recently discovered your channel and really appreciate the thoughtful breakdowns of movies. Especially your recent Matrix Resurrections episode. I struggled with that movie because I'm such a fan of the original trilogy and your consensus was pretty much spot on with how I felt about it.
Is Mr. Shapiro aware of the number of film companies that make exclusively "Christian" movies? There are at least five of them, and they are there for anyone interested in seeing movies with this particular viewpoint. Also, he does understand that screenplays are routinely rewritten, rethought, and changed constantly as the studio, producers, the director and various writers are assigned to change the film before and during production? Then the editing starts, and the movie is given its final shape. That is, until the "director's cut" is released later. I'd suggest that as punishment, Mr. Shapiro should be compelled to watch the entire "God Is Dead" series, back-to-back. But, fortunately for him, the Constitution says we can't impose "cruel and unusual punishments".
I don’t think that Shut In is a Christian Movie. Most Christian movies are terrible, and most Christians don’t even watch them. Christian movies are almost always focused primarily on preaching the American evangelical gospel, this movie doesn’t do that. It has a character who has a religious experience, that doesn’t make it a Christian movie.
Had it not been for all the people reviewing this movie I would never have known it even existed. It has been said about Ben Shapiro for years and years that he was bitter about having been continually rejected by Hollywood. Guess he found a way to buy his way in. All hail the new Pia Zadora!
Every time someone criticizes a movie they are told: "why don't you make your own movie"; well, that's what Shapiro is doing. I will always appreciate the creation of art, it is our responsibility as the audience is to educate ourselves on the type of content we consume.
From how you described the script it sounds like maybe Shapiro did some script editing himself. The podcast "Worst Year Ever" did a read through of his short stories and thats pretty well how it sounded
There are many addicts who have been on the edge and have gone to scripture for strength, and the idea that choosing to submit is not a choice is very unusual.
It really feels like Ben is still butthurt having been run out of Hollywood all those years ago. Instead of taking the L and learning to be a better writer he just doubling down on his take that it's Hollywood's liberal bias that's failing to recognize his art for the masterwork that he thinks it is. Gotta give Ben at least a little credit for not being like that **last** aspiring conservative artist rejected by a creative institution that went on to kill 6 million people. At least Ben is channeling his rejection into creating something even if it is bad bad not good.
You cannot deny there's a bias in Hollywood towards left . They have close ties with the party and many people have direct relations with people on left politicians. Shapiro may be bad at doing movies or may be to cheesy and cringe in pushing a right leaning narrative in his media but Hollywood has thousands of people like Shapiro being too cringy pushing their left ideologies, some of them pretty extreme. But you don't see the pushback that you see with Shapiro movie from most media like Jared.
Between this movie and Run Hide Fight, the latter had much better tension. Shut In felt like it hammered in too much foreshadowing at the beginning to feel authentic. And I think the bigger Deus ex Macina was the boyfriend who just shows up at the house by the end to stop the drug dealer.
“It’s one of the best scripts I’ve ever read” is a super low benchmark when most of the scripts he’s read were either written by the deeply untalented Ben Shapiro, or by some other conservative freak. Did he also love the Lady Ballers script?
As a conservative, and aspiring filmmaker myself, I have been frustrated with Ben’s approach. Especially after bashing The Batman, which is a great film, to promote his own film “The Hyperions”. It’s not a good strategy to criticize other films when you’re just getting started in the movie business 😂 I think a good example of how to do a “faith-based” “conservative” film would be Hacksaw Ridge where it’s a character driven story that is genuine, challenging, and organic to the story.
YUSS please! I strongly dislike Ben Shapiro and I don't think I've ever heard him have a single intelligent take on anything, but stoked to hear Jared's take on him.
If you never heard him have a single intelligent take you are either dumb or you haven't watched any of his content besides memes to make fun of him. Do some research I can assure you will find some things you agree with him.
@@manuelsilva6244 nah g. I've watched his stuff. He is just a Christian reactionary with a degree. He is most definitely not a smart man. His pretentious yet somehow juvenile take on hip hop music was the last straw. That was when I went from thinking he was just some arrogant dick to realizing he is a genuine charlatan.
@@stephenmymomtoldmenottoput1459 I'd say not in the normal way where you are kind and accepting of others. More in the warped conservative dogmatic way. But he definitely claims to be Christian.
I love the Daily Wire and Shapiro, and I'm disappointed that you didn't like the movie. But I really appreciate the objective stance you took on it, explaining what's wrong with it based on quality rather than values. Hopefully they can take feedback and make more effective productions in the future.
Also, Hollywood is so anti-Christian that the propaganda flick Don't Look Up ended with the main characters praying to God and showing contrition, followed by a post-credit scene filled with Garden Of Eden symbolism.
Aren't the facts and logic connected\together in this case, so no Oxford comma? Like, as opposed to some facts as well as separately some logic. It's, a single group that contain both facts, and logic. (Although I'm pretty sure once Im explaing the group itself, and that it contains two seperate things, the comma would have to come back in to use.... Holy fuck I hate English some times!! XD but at the same time it's fun to semantically think about)
People make fun of most conservative values because some of them blindly try to force their ideals on others, exaggerating them & making some of the ideals look truly idiotic. (E.x Abortion)
Whether it's Joe Rogan or Ben Shapiro or Rush Lumbaugh, there is that tendency to accuse "the liberals" of doing what they themselves are doing. That type of projection becomes more about sewing doubt and making everything seem like a matter of competing narratives than fact vs fiction. Limbaugh and Shapiro do that for conservatives while Rogan does it for quasi-libertatian bros who fancy themselves as independents but often further white nationalist talking points
I'm not gonna lie😅I actually like Joe rogan. Maybe it's because he's video's aren't always on politics which I appreciate more such as the case with his collab with Mr beast. Whereas for Ben shapiro, I feel that mostly all of his videos are on politics which makes what he is talking about seem less genuine. Maybe that's just because I'm right which is why I think that but I'm not sure.
Oh man! I hope Shapiro challenges you on this. I actually don’t mind Shapiro in some ways, and I’m saying that as a pretty centrist person. I don’t agree with him on a lot, but I also don’t like him in many ways. He’s NOT a creative person. This is not a space he can really be successful in a meaningful way. Like you said, this is just right-wing virtue signaling. This movie sounds just like a long-winded way of saying what he does on his channel and podcasts. It’s culture war, outrage cinema lol.
Yeah, the main criticism I’ve heard regarding pretty much all of his creative endeavors is that his culture-war driven ideology is literally coating them from head to toe. They’re so clearly written from a place of anger at the “leftists” that he’s created in his mind.
Since I'm Intelligent Enough to know the difference it's important to point out that there's a difference between Truth and Fact. There's many different kinds of Truths, and people can have their own Truths. But Facts are Real, concrete, visible and can't be denied unless your in willful denial. The Tenets of Faith and Religion are not factual. And as Ben Shapiro says its Facts over feelings and my Lord people sure do get in their feelings and appeals to emotion are prevalent, when it comes to Faith and Religion.
@@maxjohansen9475 I know he does. He repeats it a couple times, and I thought maybe you could explain what makes thoughtful people less likely to be talented. It doesn’t make sense to me.

I'm interested in Diego's take on dan Olsen's crypto criticism. It seemed weird to hear somebody complaining about capitalism, then going on to say he's interesting in adding more capitalism to more things
You kind of left out the fact that his business doesn't exist to make money, he is funded by Koch and Mercer money. He is performing a service, not selling a product.
I haven't watched it but I can probably guess the issues stem from it being openly politically partisan. Thats cool when you are doing political discussion but feels off when he is in that mode and talking about anything else.
I'm a big Shapiro and Matt Walsh fan, I am not a conservative but I am definitely not a leftist either, but my point is that Shapiro (jewish, not christian btw) and Walsh make sense and I enjoy watching them, but I could not finish the movie, it's so boring and I posted that on Ben's Instagram, and their next film looks even worse.
I refuse to support anything from Ben Shapiro because of his anti woman and anti LGBTQ+ views. He has his 1st Amendment rights to express his views which I can freely oppose. With that, some of his remarks are downright dangerous and false.
Don't promote death, weirdo. WTF is "anti woman"?? Happily married man Anna Kasparian is "anti women that voted Trump"; are you "anti women that support Ben Shapiro"?
Very good review, love the honest, common sense approach. As far as Hollywoods politics are concerned, I also think he is right in that regard and it's something I'm noticing more and more. Recently read an article on Bari Weiss Substack about that, called Hollywood's New Rules, very interesting read. I can recommend her whole Substack.
I used to like Bari, but she started turning into the "cancel culture" victimhood snowflake she always preached against. Not saying she doesn't make good points here and there, I would just be careful going down a rabbit hole. She is similar to Shapiro in how they became more of a personality and reaction pundit. Preaches against the thing that they become. Seems to happen more and more with these people on the left and right. They get a taste of that corporate money and lose their moral compass.
@@justinharris2320 I don't have that impression of her, she's not just focusing on cancel culture but many other things. And shes not getting any corporate money XD She mostly just does her substack which I doubt makes her that much money, compared to what she probably made at the NYT. Shapiro on the other hand is all about money and business, very obvious, but at least another perspective amongst the sea of left wing opportunism.
I have no issues with Christian movies but they are usually not great. I watch American Underdog going in knowing what it was and it was actually solid.
This is the thing with virtue signaling. We all do it. Is wearing a mask virtue signaling? Then not wearing one has become virtue signaling. We’re all basically throwing up gang signs for the tribe we want to identify with. We really need to look in the mirror. A movie that isn’t made with at least a shred of genuine curiosity is just not for me. Ben is capable of demanding better but he has no interest in doing so. Sad.
@@castynscott4394 If we’re being honest, that completely depends on the motivations of the person. A lot of people wear or don’t wear masks based on what they believe is best for their health. I also know some folks who do this for political reasons to identify with their tribe. Call it what you want.
UTTERLY INSANE PROJECTION!! Changing your avatar cos "Gay Pride Month and I'm ally" Virtue signalling Not abusing gays NOT virtue signalling "I'm against bad things (rape, racism etc) happening" VIRTUE SIGNALLING Not raping people NOT VIRTUE SIGNALLING Banging on about driving an electric car Virtue signalling Driving a car NO SIR, that IS NOT virtue signalling Wearing a welder's mask when welding NOT VIRTUE SIGNALLING
@@darrengordon-hill That was kind of rude. I’m not sure how pointing out a mistake I’ve made before amounts to projection, but none of that changes the fact that people I know on both sides have specifically worn or not worn a mask in order to be seen as being on the right side of the issue. If that’s not virtue signaling, maybe I just don’t understand the term. My point is I see virtue signaling as a way we identify with our tribes which are often made up of people not geographically close to us, which I think is a first. I think we all do it (not just people on the left) and we may all have to do it to survive. I’m not pointing the finger, just trying to understand the behavior (which starts with looking at myself).
Another good one-location movie I happened to remember the other day: The Cement Garden. Unjustly forgotten, not just by me. Good chat. Shapiro's film is stupid? Colour me amazed. But the point about right-wing virtue signalling is well-made and particularly key in storytelling, where it's always such a bad, rookie move to trumpet your morals. Especially enjoyed the reaffirmation that you can for sure be a leftist and be pissed off by Hollywood - and the BBC, by the way - doing inappropriate diversity casting. In fact, you can take that position _because_ you're a leftist and antiracist. Like, OK, so you want to make stories that are still all about white culture and history, but give it this multi-culti veneer? Try harder. Most recent example: The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, a biopic set in Victorian England, with all-white casting for the main parts, but the protagonist's friends, all bit parts, all BAME. So, tokenism of the most obvious kind, but also an outright lie about a period in which the UK was not just comprehensively systematically racist, but ran an empire in which people of colour were routinely exploited and murdered.
I'm sure people will call me a Ben Shapiro fan for this (I'm not even entirely sure who he is), but why is choosing religion not a choice the character makes, exactly? As I understand it (haven't seen the film) God doesn't actually make an appearance? So it is still her choice. I'm an atheist too, but a character choosing religion over drugs is absolutely their own choice, come on now
Just watched it. Tried to be fair but I was thinking, what was the message of the story exactly? What was it? You're right that it had a lot of Deus Ex Machinas, tons of it, though I guess some of it is believable I guess in a shoddy house, but what's the point? And the bible part was absolutely terrible. What was the point of "Bad trees produce bad fruit"? This might be relevant if she still trusted her ex and Sammy, but it is clear from the beginning that she does not. I guess there was that one part where she invited her ex to come in to help her, but that was a moment of desperation, not trust. She never has an issue of trying to figure out whose a 'false teacher' or not. And even worse was the lighting in that scene. So she's just going to cry incessantly over a bible that conveniently has a ton of money for some reason, and we cannot see the picture she is crying over or what she is reading that makes it so emotional. And it just made it much worse that suddenly at the end, all of her financial troubles are conveniently solved thanks to that Deus Ex Machina bible. Don't worry about all the dead bodies in her house, or the years of troubles since there were no other witnesses than her. God forbid to cast anymore actors to signify some kind of support network. We never see her mother or anyone else whom she can or has relied on in the past, despite the connection to these people is what 'helped' her to escape in some way. If we don't even see glimpses of them, or have any idea what they said to her, it becomes pointless.
If was a fan of Ben Shapiro, my first impulse is to be upset that he got criticized. You could be right in your assertion but I would see it as an attack upon someone who I consider "morally good", and by doing that I would willfully ignore the point you made and double down on his position and politics. Just put myself in the shoes of someone that doesn't think beyond their preferred news source. These people are dangerous.

@@DaleMallows Jesus. Sounds awful, almost like self-parody.
@@DaleMallowsI'm not sure I agree. I don't think a movie like Indiana Jones or the shining would be considered as conservative or left leaning. I think they're pretty centrist in my view.
@@DaleMallows Those are just "pastiche" of conservatism. Those type of movies are almost cynical, in the "gun-ho" American jingoism they present.
Yea! Preach it Jared! You're fighting the good fight!
Another good one-room film: The Man from Earth. It's not as critically acclaimed as the others you mentioned at the end of the video, but it just somehow struck a cord in me while watching.
It’s a fun experiment of a film made with a microbudget. Agreed, it’s not very good, but I think about the premise and the implications more than most films that are better than it
When you said Alfred Hitchcock and one room my mind went to 'Rope' and not 'Rear Window'. I'd like to recommend 'Rope' while I'm here.
Do Buzzfeed *NEED* to make movies, or merely write glowing copy about them?
Thank you SO much for this review, I watched the entire movie literally hoping it was metaphorical, as things like burnt and hammered hands appear and disappear, and that ridiculous rebirth scene in the bathroom were so bad, that in the end I thought I wasn't getting something that made it have such a high score on IMDb. After seeing this I'm relieved... So bless you, here's an apple, a good one!
PS, I love roman Polanski's adaptation of the theater piece "Carnage", by Yasmine Reza, amazing, I watch it over and over and it's all in the same location too.

The greatest Christian movie is the danish movie Adams Æbler (Adams Apples) it stars Mads Mikkelsen among others.
Also the movie Locke with Tom Hardy is fantastic and all takes place in a car.
Just rewatched all of your "attack on titan" videos and realized how much Wisecrack misses you. Hope you are doing well :)
would be awesome if Jared could pick up the recent seasons of AoT
Shapiro is an orthodox Jew who made a movie where Jesus saves someone.
Well judging from the trailer
the core audience he plays to are evangelical christians
U do realize Shapiro isn’t Christian?
@@castynscott4394 U do realize he really wanted to make a Christian movie and thought everyone was conspiring against it?

Art is inherently liberal. It's about change and exploring things that are new.
I think comparing a Jew to Hitler is on some kind of TH-cam comment section bingo.
@@Mr_Case_Time ha I didn't even think about that
He's an incel, and Hollywood is as dry for him as his wife is.
@@joshknightfall By incel you also mean he's a Neo-Nazi right?
You cannot deny there's a bias in Hollywood towards left . They have close ties with the party and many people have direct relations with people on left politicians. Shapiro may be bad at doing movies or may be to cheesy and cringe in pushing a right leaning narrative in his media but Hollywood has thousands of people like Shapiro being too cringy pushing their left ideologies, some of them pretty extreme. But you don't see the pushback that you see with Shapiro movie from most media like Jared.
Also by Alfred Hitchcock with Ben Shapiro as the lead actor, ROPE!
That video title is hilarious 😂
This is such a well articulated take
As a conservative, and aspiring filmmaker myself, I have been frustrated with Ben’s approach.
Thank you for reviewing a movie like this.
YUSS please! I strongly dislike Ben Shapiro and I don't think I've ever heard him have a single intelligent take on anything, but stoked to hear Jared's take on him.

Aren't the facts and logic connected\together in this case, so no Oxford comma? Like, as opposed to some facts as well as separately some logic. It's, a single group that contain both facts, and logic.

A non-Jew being against Ben Shapiro is inherently antisemitic.
Just saying.

I think you meant Holy Tanakh, as I don't think Shapiro's religion considers the NT legit in any way.
I don't think Chris Nolan is a conservative he makes his films to be pretty ambiguous.

I'm an atheist too, but a character choosing religion over drugs is absolutely their own choice, come on now
I didn't realize another DW film was out. Now I must immediately go look for reviews...
This cuz Ben Shap didn’t make this film with out bias and couldn’t give a shit about great storytelling
If was a fan of Ben Shapiro, my first impulse is to be upset that he got criticized. You could be right in your assertion but I would see it as an attack upon someone who I consider "morally good", and by doing that I would willfully ignore the point you made and double down on his position and politics.
