*If people think these guys clickbait then they haven't seen other content creators.* The algorithm is brutal. Case in point: Pyrocynical. He has a 2nd channel full of clickbait, daily drama and slop AND all the money goes into hiring artists to make animation and voice acting for the main channel which is _constantly_ running at a loss, because it goes against the algorithm. You can't win with TH-cam.
Yeah, they're a pretty good source for knowing what the hell is going on in the world today. Not in depth source, but a general rundown of events is good enough imo
TLDR is one of the most impartial news channels. I gave up on trying to get a balance with the Guardian and the Daily Mail, they were too extreme and omitted so many facts to pamper their readers with ill-informed perspectives, worse, deliberate omissions, and no critical thinking. But it’s good to raise the critics’ comments, but don’t bend to a view of people who love to complain. Their opinions are feelings and not always reasoned thoughts.
Man I remember finding you guys in 2017, when Jack had no sm7b, and debating what audio equipment would work for your setup. It still boggles the mind that a few students can so much improve the standards of broadcast news with so little. Amazing job guys, don't take the ramblings online too seriously, you're doing amazing work
I honestly don't mind ads and ad breaks at all. People often forget that content creators/journalists/youtubers (whatever you wanna say) needs to earn money like the rest of us, and this is one great way to do it. people often forget they are getting really well-produced videos for free
I would say TLDR is kind of moderate/liberal. Anyway, as a conservative, if you want right-wing content you can find it anywhere. I do however like to broaden my horizon and find TLDR relatively ballanced, eventhough I do disagree with some takes. I would like to warn people from not only following people you agree with 100%. That just makes you simple minded honestly.
which news channel/site with conservative bias would you recomend? I'm watching some content from the other side of the barricade, but only in my language. When it comes to english-language content I don't know any news channels, which aren't just confirming my lviews
I would love to watch an hour long video of "Zachary" speaking about his work, process, and reasoning. Those short interventions were like smelling a cake on my neighbor's windowsill.
Keep making these videos. They make you seem human, which you funnily are ;). Being able to see you argue, smile and laugh is refreshing and keeps TLDR on a different level/vibe. These kinds of videos will help you make others more understanding and remember to always stay true to yourself. Your commitment is very important, especially when the majority, in the western world, have lost their trust in big media/traditional media. Stay true, keep working and kudos to you💪💪
Love the suite of channels. One thing that i really like is the choice of font (typeface to be precise). Clear and aesthetically pleasing - a superb choice. I really like how one line transitions to the next, where the vowels in the first line move to their place in the next line while the consonants do not
Honestly my favorite TH-cam channel for News. There may be a bias for British politics, but as an American I find these extremely unbias for most things. Plus the animators are top notch!
I want to say that TLDR is not really THAT biassed. Mostly the audience when reading the comments are overwhelmingly, but you at least try to not pander to them to much. It is really difficult to avoid audience capture - which is happening everywhere. TLDR at least tries and THAT is better than most others. As someone who is very far to the right on most issues, I still value your content a lot and appreciate the effort.
No complaints here, you're one of my go to info channels. Nobody is perfect but by and large your info is pretty straightforward. Impartial information is why I'm subscribed. Also, your ads/monetization is pretty stellar. Lastly, your like to dislike ratio is consistently overwhelmingly positive, so I think the majority are enjoying the content as well.
I trust more this channel for news than the major ones. This Channel is transparent and expresses the key points of boths sides. Keep the good work up, and take positive feedback and not hateful feedback.
I think this is a great series of channels, (All the TLDR channels). Appreciate the short, information packed little news updates from all the important topics in the world
1:03 I've never noticed much of a bias in your videos. It's one of the reasons I like all of you, it's just quick easy news that doesn't take much of a position.
No bias and some mistakes is about better than 80-90% of news media. Either critical mistakes or severe bias. It's not unprecedented, but you get the idea
The thing is, the bias is sometimes very subtle. I think that for the most part this channel is quite decent at covering stories, but can still be very liberal and “pro-western hegemonic” in their coverage sometimes. One example is for example a recent video concerning Israel where killed Israelis were “killed”, while killed Palestinians were “eliminated” (forgive me for not remembering the exact phrases they used). Also stuff like not framing IMF loans as being as dangerous and intrusive as they are, but kind of implying that they just require “fiscally responsible” policies to be implemented. I still think the channel is a better source of news than 90% of other outlets so I allow them the occasional slip, but I doubt they are even really aware of it themselves. Anyone who grew up in the west has internalised this kind of frame.
@@BS-jw7nf i'm sorry they wouldn't call an intentional doctrine of starvation a murder. (and yes, the tactics were a plan proposed by the israeli ministry of defense that they don't admit they apply parts of). IMF loans are hit or miss, that i agree
Keep up the great work Guys! Its nice to see this video, it feels genuine to address all of that in a video and not just some corporate message or post.
I appreciate your acknowledgement of the left leaning bias. That is very transparent and professional from you. I agree that individuals will have a position, and that is a fact, but keeping filters on reaction to facts seems a very good way of "trimming towards neutral"
Thank god, we've been waiting for this one Edit: you do put adverts near the start and middle of the videos, in the form of your Too Long promotion segment.
I love it when RW accuse people of bias, but especially TLDR as they really are (sometimes painfully) neutral. What you're saying is "if the facts don't meet my feelings, the facts are to blame", so go reflect on that instead maybe?
I absolutely think you should keep saying "you get the idea". It makes sense from your brand voice. "The TL;DR is..." etc. re-enforces a contemporary, alternative-to-traditional-new voice. I'm guessing this is why we tune in, specifically. Personal opinion: I also find it a bit sad that impartiality is considered leaning left.
One thing I will say about ads is that ad length DOES make a difference. The length of a video can be a rough indicator of how in-depth you go on a given topic. A much longer ad spot makes that a less accurate indicator. Granted, for someone like me who is going to watch them anyway, it doesn't matter THAT much. But it does feel a little bad when a video is shorter than expected because of an extra-long ad spot.
can't say I agree ion the bias issue. this is one of the most neutral sources out there but I get why people would say that; you do state a lots of facts and, in the last few years, having a scientific or coherent grasp on reality is considered anti-right
Thank you a lot for transparency Despite all issues with TLDR it is one of the better sources of daily information especially when compared with big media outlets.

Also I'd also pay for the same content but without ad segments. Like qccesing them through joining to the channel. Though paying for each channel sounds a little discouraging. And I'd understand the the company's decision why not to offer these. Though it would be better to decide it over polls asking to the people if they would pay for this. I hope my comments weren't intrusive. I really enjoyed the behind the scenes and the personalities on display in this video. I'm frequently watching even when I'm not making comments. Thanks for your time and efforts.
14:10 - I have to say that people who complain about pronounciations don't know much about linguistics and that language is fluid. Calling people out for their accents really got adopted into the human experience as a way to identify foreigners during wars. That tribalism lives on. They are actually more preoccupied that you aren't the same nationality as them moreso than your pronounciation.
So here are the three main reasons I think TLDR is great: The first and most simple reason is that I like it, Secondly, I find they strike an amazing balance between humor and seriousness(specially in more recent videos the editors I think are doing great but the writers as well), and finally, They have achieved the best balanced between providing current and impartial reporting I have seen, while doing it for literally *FREE* (I will say I do wish more international voices from the global south could be brought in, specially for tldr global, but it makes sense why it is not the case. But it is something I would love to see in the future)
