I had been doing yogasna regularly in my youth. After I had disc prolapse following fall, I was advised not to do yogasna. However i was compelled to start it in my seventies due to other health issues. I started doing Paschimottan asana too, along with other asanas. I started doing it very gradually carefully listening to my body. Now after 6 months I am doing it with out any problem. So I can say when done gradually, disc herniation is NOT a contraindication for this asana.

One doubt I have though, kindly clarify. As you told about keeping chin on shin made me confused cause I've been understanding the same as doing Jalandhar Bandh(chin on chest/neck) during paschimottanasan, which will automatically make my head on or after knee/shin. My reference was this "सव्यं प्रसारितं पाद धृत्वा पाणियुगेन वै | नव द्वाराणि संयम्य चिबुकं हृदयोपरि||". So please clarify. Another request It will be helpful if you can put some more light on doing tribandha as well, on some of your upcoming videos.🙏Kindly help me out . With love and Regards .
