I have a 2010 Jaguar XFR… is it the same process? I have only changed the oil using suction, but I have read that it is better to do it from below so that the waste is better discharged. I also read that the plug must be replaced with a new one. Did you use the same one? greetings from Chile🇨🇱

Hey man, is this the XFS Diesel or Petrol ? Im trying to find out the best oil for it...i know Jags recommend Castrol but most people use Mobil or other top brands better than Castrol...Also the type of the oil is compicated coz 5W-30 or , 0W-30 etc....dont know which is better...im asking for my 2013 XFS Diesel V6
Hi this is petrol 5.0 v8
Mobil and Castrol are both top notch as long as they are fully synthetic
We do not have diesel XF from this era in the states unfortunately
Only need to remove the large pan, to access the drain/sump plug

How many bolts at the bottom do you have to remove to get the bottom guards off? What size are they?
Hi there were about like 10 and size was 7 and 8mm for me
@@MrCARman Did you have to remove both bottom guards just to get to the filter? This video: www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2009_Jaguar_XF_Luxury_4.2L_V8/oil/change_oil_and_oil_filter shows that he only removed one of the guards.
Yes I removed both because one was hanging on to the other. So just got both out of the way to make the job easier plus I looked around for any leaks

Have you ever diagnosed a coolant leak on an XF?
Hi yes I had a coolant leak and it’s very common on these 5.0 v8 jaguar engines. Every week I would have to top off the coolant. It’s a small pipe in the front part of the engine notecards the serpentine belt
If you look closely you will see a drop of water spitting out while the engine is running
Would you happen to have any steps or a vid to explain how to get to that part to check for leak?

5w-20 or 5w-30?
This is a 2011 XF with the 5.0 engine and it calls for 5w-20 engine oil
all good except the noise music

Hi Alfredo, yes I have done the spark plug change on the XF but didn’t make a video at that time. The process is quit simple just like the Mercedes spark plug change I did a few weeks ago

Hi, it took me an hourish. Just remove the engine cover. As long as u have the right ratchets the job is pretty simple
What are the torque specs for the drain plug?
You would have to check the manuals on that for ur particular car
@@MrCARman ...I have the complete set of manuals (that are given to the customer from the factory) for my car, which does not include that specification. Otherwise, I would not have asked you that question. Thanks for the reply though. Stay safe.
Are these expensive to maintain
Yes if the maintenance is not kept up to date, also these 5.0 engines are very prone to having internal issues which ends up needing a rebuild and costing several thousands after 100k
@@MrCARman would the 4.2 N/A be a better alternative ?
Yes the 4.2 n/a is ALOT MORE reliable including even the 4.2 supercharged

Otherwise u have to check ur manual to find the jack poiint
