Matts final words.......I've massively overspent 😂
They’ll probably put it on his tombstone.
Along with a mention of regrets from Carvertical !@@maxgreece1
You can buy a t-shirt 😂
matt needs that as merch! t shirts mugs etc! lol
@@lucythemoggy1970 Yeah, "mug" being the operative word on this Jag! ;-) But, seriously, Matt's vids are great for teaching us potential punters what to look out for with various models of cars.
How can somebody in business be so honest and make a living? Best channel on the Internet!
Well said.
If there are two car lots next to each other, and they both have identical cars on the forecourt, you'd pay £500 more for the vehicle with a decent youtube documentry of the sourcing and preparation. Thats the genius of being an honest car dealer. Second to a house, a car is the biggest purchase most people will make, and these days, well, who can afford a house?
I know the tyrekickers expecting perfection from a 20yo Yaris, appear tiresome, but £2k to someone who hasn't got £2k to spend, is more to them, than the man with £30k for a 3 yo used Audi/BMW/Merc. So if they can be reassured the cars good, and the dealers honest, they'll pay top dollar, because it's too important not to. As soon as a saleman gives it the bull shit, you walk away. I was interested in a car in Feb. As soon as I mentioned if there was any movement on price, I was told "On no, everythings selling well". Given I knew the car had been on his forecourt since the previous august, parked up for six months, and the guy won;t even dip £100 to make me feel I got a deal, I walked. It sat there for another three, and had a price reduction to less than I would have paid before it went.
Dealers, be straight, honest and transparent.
It is his hobby😂😂
Because we all want an honest car dealer, I'd buy blind from this guy.
There is no such thing as a 'honest' used car salesman.
Well done Matt! You have saved a Jag that has plenty of life left in it.👍
The XF is still a great looking car, great job on saving this one!
I was waiting for it…… just over 7:12 minutes in and I hear the immortal words…. “I have massively overspent!” 😂😂😂
You are the epitome of every customers dream car dealer.
You take care of every aspect of the cars prep for sale. Honestly and genuinely. No bodges and without knowingly hiding surprises for the customer.
We can see that the customer will get a decent, safe car that they will be proud of.
My son is wanting to be a car dealer and I refer him to you as the role model to emulate.
Keep up the good work. Absolutely love watching your videos.
I would've just glued the leather back. SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS is just an absurd amount to spend on peeling leather.
He what??!!
I'm slightly too lost for words to have an opinion..! 😂 Completely ridiculous and unnecessary.
I've owned a 2011 XF since May this year. Despite being an older car, it has more class and soul than most new cars in my view. Most new stuff is bland and characterless in my view. The XF is a beautiful looking car and I've never taken so many photos of any car I've owned. It's only a premium luxury and it's the 2.2d, but it's a lovely place to be. Keep up the good work Matt
Congratulations, a very special car. I had a 2010 3.0d but I think the 2.2d is rated as an even smoother engine. The only car I ever had where I used to go for a drive just to enjoy the sense of occasion...
Totally could of got brand new car but it was just one of the pack like to be different the age as never bothered me ,I've had about 8 brand new ones but rather have the luxury and style my xf in light blue with gray interior and dark wood stunning can't get the smile of My face and don't no about you no need to speed every were ,
3 liter with the 8 gearbox is the best one. Mine is 205k km and has no issues. But \I do everything and more than service to make this car run smoothly; it's still a ford. And we know Ford is a trouble maker@@ouethojlkjn
Hi. Just seen your post and wondered if you're still happy with your XF? Been thinking of one myself, appears to me you get a lot of car for your money. Cheers.
So, according to what I've seen so far, service costs and parts are outrageously high in the UK, whereas cars are extremely cheap. I'd say that it's the exact opposite in Southern Europe. The cheapest second-hand XF available in Greece at the moment is advertised for 13.000 euro, with 260.000km on the clock. Nice video, once again!
If you think those prices are high you should see the prices in south west England, some are twice as high:)
@@alexvlad2770It doesn't make any sense, though, taking into account the depreciation of cars in the UK. Maybe that's the reason why there are so many cars with British plates in Southern Europe. They buy them so cheap that they don't even mind the fact that they are RHD, which is a problem when they have to overtake, due to visibility. It makes sense, though. You get a good make and you have it serviced independently for almost nothing.
The problem is you can't keep riding them on UK plates or have to come back each year for MOT@@dmpaul77
They are cheap cars specifically *because* the labour costs are so high
Parts are generally cheaper in the UK as long as you shop around at independents. The bigger ones have large global export sale divisions.
My 5.0 V8 naturally aspirated is one of the best investments I have ever made and it is thanks to your videos! Over a year into owning it and every time I get into it is like the first time all over again. Wonderful car and perfectly reasonable running costs...So far! 🤞
Great to hear!
Supercharged I believe not naturally aspirated?
@@bouncycastles1214 they did both. A 5.0 SC and a 5.0 NA
@HighPeakAutos Aha, I didn't know that. My brother has the supercharged 5.0 V8 XKR. Was it just the XF they did the NA 5.0 V8 version then?
What's it doing? 20mpg?
You know a cars been cared for when it’s sat on a nice set of Michelins
You must be the most honest car sales guy I've ever seen. I'd buy a car from you any day of the week 👍
Matt is a weekly must watch , beats top gear hands down , and lots of excellent dry northern humour . Spot-on!!
“My trimmer” made me laugh…sounds like my “my manscaper” ✂️ 😂
Good Man !
Another Jaguar saved from extinction. 😊

I've massively overspent on this
Hmmmm
Great work Matt! Even at 14 years old that XF looks and I guess drives brilliantly. Your channel resulted in my buying a 2011 XF Luxury a year ago and I still love it every time I drive it. Simply one of the greatest cars!
You are the man , and that has been turned into a proper nice motor. Well done Sir.
what a well kept car, always thought they aged well, good-looking cars in my opinion! always look forward to seeing the new videos matt!
It will come back for warranty, I'd not want to retail one.
Great content, Matt. Another lovely car given a fresh lease of life and thank you for being so candid about the highs and lows on the expenditure. It all builds trust, which can only be good for your business.👍
What a beautiful car! It’s great that you bring cars like this back to life. It’s also good to see there was a bit of money in it for you as well. Good review.
Love the way your videos show the reality of the trade. Thankyou
Enjoyed this vid, your direct style is most entertaining :)
Well done Matt!!
What a lovely car!!
Always have a huge soft spot for an XF!!!
You do get your hands on some great cars ( even if you spend more than you planned ).
And you always turn them round properly.
Well done!!
If nothing else, you are certainly someone who puts out honest cars and for that i tip my hat to you. Love the channel...👍🏻
Had a top spec 2009 3.0 xf 4 or so years ago and for the cheap prices they go for they really are the business. Love the interiors too.
Great job Matt. After the makeover, the XF now looks like a proper luxury car. (The peeling dash was pretty appalling. I wonder how they cope in really hot countries.)
Apart from being informative and entertaining, these videos are great ads for your business. Anyone buying a car from you knows they are going to get a well prepared and maintained vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from you.
Keep up the good work.
Such a beautiful car, I love Jaguars. A really ageless design that one. Looks like it drives beautifully 👍🏻😀
wow, such attention to detail. for me buying a secondhand car, i really don't mind/care about the scratches on the wheels, bumper and keys. the most important thing is that the car has a good service record and has just had it checked out/serviced, cambelt done (that's really nice, some dealers don't bother). great effort 👍
So glad you saved this. I own a ‘13 XF 3.0 S portfolio (red with black leather and black alcantara). Like some of the others here I love it and it still feels special. Great cars.
Matt is the man, no debate. Learn sooo much from his videos. And for reviews on super luxury cars it's Harry and his garage. Both are so practical....wise one migh comment. Thanks guys.
That is one beautiful car Matt, I think you’ve bought a good one there.
Of course over spending is the rule on this channel, but hopefully there will be some profit for you.
It looks every bit the prestige car it should now.
Well done Mstt - shows honesty pays in business!!
That is a great looking car for the price and after two years as a daily still will be £2000+ all day long! Informative video again Matt and wish I could get my cars fixed for those reasonable costs! 😊
Loved my XF. Nice to see that one saved. Worth the effort I think.
👍Matt, well done for saving the Jag. It's worth every penny of your advertised price when one considers the quality of the XF, how they drive and the fact that a big job in the form of cambelts will have been done. A suggestion to save you time - record "I've massively overspent" and just clip it into the beginning of every video. 🤣
love the vids lad getting better each time
Gorgeous car. Well worth the effort. Typical Matt in doing the right thing. What a great dealer and decent guy.
Wish I could get my alloys refurbed for around £50 a corner. Where I live near Basingstoke it’s a minimum of £100
Some might say £5500 is a lot of money for a fourteen y/o car. But with the belt done, fully serviced no advisory MOT its Great value. Just be aware they will start taxing non Euro six diesels off the road within the next five years.
Matt, I’m probably being sa twit and missed it, but in your final totting up for profit margin. Did you forget cam belt and water pump replacement. I hope for your sake I got this wrong? Many thanks for continuing with really interesting and very well presented videos. I previously had for about a year an Indigo blue XFR. Really loved it, the most comfortable powerful and handsome car I’ve ever owned.
Another good car back on the road....Always look forward to your uploads ...
I have a soft spot for the Jaguar XF. Always looks graceful and the interior looks great too!
another great video matt...... I'm wondering if there are supporters of your channel who like me..... would like to know what you drive when you go to see what you have bought in the videos.....
keep em coming 👌👌👌
Hi Matt, I own one of these beauties it's a 3.0d XFS 2009 and I absolutely love driving it, so quiet, smooth and powerful and hasn't aged a bit although it's done a whopping 153K it also gives a certain London mayor nightmares.
Very worthwhile, someone is going to be a lucky owner. Great work Matt, even if it’s bread and cheese for dinner until November.
Nice job! The car and the video. Looking forward to next one
Somebody has a belting XF , and its been a different experience for you with a profit, not a loss . Result .
You are tte most honest car trader i have ever come across , and i love your channel 👍 .
In Australia,we fit dash mats across the top of the dash. Theyre designed for the car with cutouts for the airbag, airvents etc. They do the job, save the dash from the UV in our ozzie 45deg summers... 🍺🍻😊
Always looking forward to your videos! Have a great weekend.
Glad you like them!
Saint Matt, saviour of old cars. Well done again.
You’ve done really well I like this video car looks amazing 😊
The FX Shaguar's are always a good looking car even today. Thumbs Up !!
Just started to watch, keeping everything crossed..🤞🏻 I'm sure you won't overspend here Matt..😀👍🏻
Just seen the end, could have been a lot worse but not a bad result Matt..👍🏻🤞🏻
Hi Matt Very interesting video sounds on the last few vehicles you are in a "roulette table". Looks like a fantastic vehicle for the money. All the best Crawford
Lovely looking car, you've done some great work there.
Another great video, always liked the XF
Another top job fella, kudos to you. Love the XF.
Many thanks!
You really did a great job here, a car of this calibre should remain road worthy.
That's going to be a great buy for someone, especially with the cambelt replaced, which is the main worry when buying an older car, even with a modest mileage as belts can deteriorate with age and wreck the engine without warning. All the main things have been done, it should just be a case of enjoying a nice car which should last for years, for a price less than a new suv would depreciate in it's first year.
I've been considering getting an XF so this was quite informative.
Well Matt that was a better park than a previous one; no bin! The car is a good one and someone will be very happy with it.
Kuddos to Matt!!! Cheers man!!! great project!!
Subscribed and watch as much as possible 😀
Stunning car now. Hopefully it sold. Interesting video Matt.
"I've massively overspent" - knew it was going to be a good one 👍
i have a very rare jaguar , its the long wheel base XJL but the 5 ltr autobiography model only one of 18 made from 2016-2019 for the uk market it has the lot rear seat package and rear reclining seats parks itself etc the full monty cost £115 k when new jaguars version of the Bentley
I owned a 2015 XF 3.0D V6 Portfolio for 2.5 yrs before I bought my first F-Type...great car apart from those frikkin malfunctioning door locks - had to get a specialist to replace all 4.
Good job Matt. You’ve made me fall in love with Jag XF. I’m just worried about the running cost and maintenance.
She looks fantastic. What a great result. New owner is getting a gorgeous,, fully sorted prestige car!!
Thaks for this Matt. Love ya as always
My pleasure!
beautiful car, matt. i have one. 1 year older (145k) and i absolutely love it.
I love these cars Matt. If you find one that has been well maintained and looked after they really drive beautifully. Somebody will be getting a lot of car for the money.
When i buy a car and i find out its got expensive tyres on it brings a smile to my face because i know the car will of been well cared for. Ppl dont put expensive tyres on shite
Thats 100% true
Tyres are your connection with the road. It doesn't make sense to buy a car a manufacturer has beautifully tuned to handle well only to put cheap rubber on it. I have made that mistake once replacing pirellis on an Alfa Mito with Firestone ones. Which should be midrange so I'd have expected better. It completely messed up the handling. Very unpredictable understeer. The difference is biggest in the wet. As you cruise on a wet motorway its comforting to know that if you accidentally hit a patch of water the car is less likely to react badly and will stop quicker in an emergency. Cheap corsa mostly driven in town. Absolutely put cheap tyres on but a Jaguar. Just no!
Saved one from the junk yard. Now looks very clean. Thanks for the video and good luck with the sale.
Thanks 👍
The labour cost for replacing the top part of the dash is outrageous!
And a very ‘neat’ figure of £660 too… suspicious…
Hi Matt that was a close one then wasn't it but I'm sure you'll come out on top as usual🎉
Your attention to detail is fantastic, you deserve to succeed! 😊
Thanks
Best video in a long time.
Stunning car Matt. Well done. Shame a Jaguar XF with 85k miles would be deemed a non runner due to a wiring loom issue. There must be lots of other cars going to scrapie with lots of life left in them.
What’s odd is the Auntie’s friend in Surrey is probably minted ( money grows in the fields of Surrey) and she could have paid Jag to fix it.
Too much hassle I guess.
Buy a new car instead 🙂🙂
All in jest , of course.
I remember seeing a you tube video where the locking mechanism on a Bentley Continental cost a whopping £,1800 plus vat, and that was for an exchange unit. And apparently it was a common problem and canny people figured out it was the same as a mechanism the parent company put in a big VW and cost much less.
Your a brave man Matt but also a great bargain hunter id buy it it looks like new awesome review thanks for your time fantastic 😊👌🚘
Hi Matt, I had a laugh when you said Jaguar Land Rover garages are always busy. We live near Belfast and my , petrol head son bought a beautiful Range Rover 4.4l diesel from a dealer in Southampton. He flew to Southampton, picked it up and brought it to Dublin on the ferry. The very next day, it died!, nothing would work. The local Land Rover dealers couldn’t look at it until June, this was in March. He got a LR specialist to collect it but he couldn’t find what was wrong, the computer was sent to somewhere in England to be reprogrammed to no avail. Another specialist had look at it, he couldn’t sort it. It was now September and my son was braised off, the dealer in Southampton said he would refund him, but he had to get it to Dublin for collection at the ferry. That was a bit of a pain, but his boss had a Range Rover and he hired a trailer, so off it went. The Range Rover didn’t break down thankfully, and he bought a very nice Audi S4 to ferry his greyhound about in. Don’t think he will be any more Range Rovers, although he had a very old one once before and it was OK, like you he is a fan, so you never know. In the circumstances I think the dealer who sold it to him must have tearing his hair out, but I think he OK about it all.
Keep up the good work, by the way, I am now a Volvo fan, I bought an XC60 D5 from my son!.
Regards, David.
You saved a Jag that someone will cherish 👍
I'm not a fan of grey cars usually but that is absolutely stunning, currently trying to work on the other half with man math's..... she doesn't seem to be falling for it this time!
That is a nice-looking Jaguar XF that looks like it has been well looked after. I really love you saying you had overspent 😂😂but you did all the jobs that needed doing and the car was worth saving to be fair compared to the polo in the last video 🤣🤣
Well done 👏
Nice job Matt and I’m sure it will end someone’s pride and joy soon 👍
That car park at the repairers is a view into the future indeed a future scrap yard all those JLR’s. Such nice looking and plagued with silly faults. My mate bought an 09 brand new for about 38k. Did over 200k had two auto boxes replaced and dpf.the interior was a joy. The seats gorgeous. I drove it 3.0d what a beautiful car. Replaced with E class Mercedes just doesn’t seem the same
This is one of the cars I may get next March for myself. I'm old enough that it's an appropriate car. Glad you made it shine, as you always do.
Matt, if only all used car dealers were as honest & fair in your trade!!! i would definitely buy pre loved vehicle from you.!!! Best in health and in your business !
Wow A grand for the cable and a couple of sensors seems very steep. I've just replaced the same cable myself in about half an hour (it is a very common issue) Cable cost me £70. I had a few electrical gremlins as well which seem to have been solved by replacing both battery's. I really love the car though, it's in the same pale blue as one of your previous ones.
Yours looks the dogs doodars now though and will be a nice motor for any prospective buyer.
Lovely Jaguar matt and another good video 🚗🚙🚘⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Jags are such good value at the moment, even the xe is miles cheaper than the 3 series. Really want to buy my next car from you guys, these videos show everything is done properly, no stone left unturned
Car looks great Mat, credit to you for saving it👍
Pay your bills before you pay your self. That should be what every business does. Shame everyone does not have the same attitude as you. You always seem to turn out some great cars in the end even if your profit margin gets eroded. Another great video.
Well done for saving another great car. I have a 2016 XFS 3.0 V6 diesel with 300 bhp and 700 Nm of torque with under 25,000 miles. It's the best car I've ever owned and it looks amazing. It also has the aluminium body so it's considerably lighter than the mark one and the longer wheelbase means it has more leg room.
I know they made the bigger XJs in aluminium but thought the XF remained steel bodied. My old steel bodied 2010 3.0d had "just" 240 bhp and that was a rocket ship. Mine had a six speed auto but I think the newer ones came with 8 or even 9 speeds?
@@ouethojlkjn It has an eight speed automatic gear box, it's a better car than the original car in every way.
Fabulous, proper job!
Yep Matt 500 ish for water pump and cam belt ,that’s what I paid 18 months ago.Only trouble with my Jaguar is sometimes getting parts. My mechanic is having a nightmare getting a rear wheel bearing . Now I can understand say it being difficult getting some bits that on the whole last for ever . But a wheel bearing. To be fair to Jaguar they are not the only manufacturer that has a supply issue in the UK.
Ah, nice one, Matt... And what a lot of quality car for £5k! 👌
I like what you did with the keys.
Matt. Another project sorted. Another vehicle that someone can buy with confidence.
