Just for the record the service manual states to remove the oil filler cap and then loosen the oil filter 4 turns prior to sucking out the old oil. You can just use a hand pump 8-10 quart capacity (harbor freight or amazon) to extract the old oil . use a good quality oil filter Wix, Mann, Mahle , or OEM jaguar etc, as far as oil goes that's another topic for another time ....thanks for the video Jeremy very entertaining
Thanks! That looks much cleaner and easier than doing it from underneath. I was considering taking my Jag to a non-Jaguar dealer to save some money on the oil change, but I think it is worth it to have a Jaguar dealer do it from above. I was concerned it wouldn't drain all the old oil out though. 🤔
Hey enjoyed your vid. I have an f pace V6 model. Do you know how to check if your car needs an oil change or can the dashboard tell you? I haven’t done my first oil change so I’m new to this lol if you can help, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
Thank you very Interesting - Would the 2016 XF (x260) 2.0D with the ingenium engine use the same method, ie sucking from oil filler tube like in the video or would I have to use the dip stick check tube instead?
It still has a drain plug, the vacuum method doesn't drain as well, especially contaminants. He also skipped the hardest part, resetting the maintenance reminder. Stupid rear fog light, ignition, trip combinations.
Do you think it’s necessary to have the dealership do an oil change on a 2016 Jaguar XF or can I do it myself? And what other maintenance do you recommend at 70000 miles?
Hey Jeremy I have a 2012 Xf 5.0.When things go wrong. It all seems complicated when until you so your home work.Like rite know I have check coolant level light that came on.No leaks,I know it's a sensor in the coolant overflow. This happened after I needed to change that little air release screw.Because well age.S M H.I really ant to change the Transmission fluid...O know the life of the car blahblah Blah.O found exactly where the drain plug is.Could you do a video on that? The Bolt Filling it up in that small space?Lol Thanks man
check the coolant level. the sensor is very sensitive. You could be just below the threshold. every time I do a service I always top off the coolant. the coolant is always low. you can just put water in it.
Hi . I know it’s totally unrelated but please help . I got the error - No engine restart in 512 miles. Incorrect diesel exhaust fluid quality detected. I only use adblue from jaguar, so its 100% error reading. I clean the sensor located @ under front right wheel , drove the car for 40 miles but the error is still there . Can i reset that error with a odb reader ? What are the downsides to that ? Is the error gonna pop up again ? Any advice ? Obviously I don’t want to go to jaguar dealer cause they charge way to much for a error who isn’t a fact a error
how cool is that? I like it you mention to someone you can use a mighty vac whats that? I hate trying to get those tight oil pan bolts of this would be amazing if I could suck it outta there lol

Thank you! You saved me a bunch of money :)
Nice job and instrumental. I wanna work at Landrover Jaguar lol
I was worried about priming the filter/if I really needed to get to the underside. Appreciate the walkthru!
no need to prime the filter
LOL, that is awesome as hell!!!

it should have a tube in the oil cap
Hi Jeremy sorry for the questions but were did you poured the new oil ..is the were the stick is when you check oil leves
so that extraction tube is inside the oil filler cap?
i have a 2012 xf portfolio and didnt wanna jack it up etc..
this looks waaaay easier
yes. in the oil cap
What’s the size of the hose connected to the oil filler cap?
It still has a drain plug, the vacuum method doesn't drain as well, especially contaminants. He also skipped the hardest part, resetting the maintenance reminder. Stupid rear fog light, ignition, trip combinations.
Is there a way to cycle the oil without starting the engine on a Jaguar Xe 20 D , let’s say after it has been sitting for 8 months….
Do you think it’s necessary to have the dealership do an oil change on a 2016 Jaguar XF or can I do it myself? And what other maintenance do you recommend at 70000 miles?
You can totally do it yourself.
Check all your fluids, brakes and suspension
Informative and entertaining...lol
what engine oil is recommended for XF 2016 3.5t?
0w20
Does a 2013 XF 2.2 diesel have the same way to suck the oil out?
yes
Jeremy can this be done on an 2018 F Type R as I am thinking about buying one. Thank You.

What's the make and model of that oil extractor and can you use any oil extractor?
the oil extractor is from Jaguar/Land Rover. but you can use a mighty vac.

Have you ever did a fuel pump replacement for a FX 2011,
sure. no big deal
What is the size of the plastic hose?
how much that special pump cost??
how cool is that? I like it you mention to someone you can use a mighty vac whats that? I hate trying to get those tight oil pan bolts of this would be amazing if I could suck it outta there lol
www.skf.com/mityvac/index.html
it is basically a vacuum
thank you
After changing oil, does the service required on dashboard automatically cleared?
I would like to know this as well. Did you ever find out?
snap on 🤟🏼
Hi is this the same on the 3.0tt diesel? 2013 years
yes. but the port is not in the oil cap. there is a separate port to suck the oil out.
How to reset the oil light?
we use a special tool that plugs into the DLC
Would of helped had you specially mentioned on the title “using vacuum “
Yeah but that machine is big bucks.
