I’ve had shoulder pain from trauma doing jujitsu in 2006. I’ve seen orthopedic surgeons, therapists, chiropractors. Had MRIs, x-rays. Somehow no one figured out this was my problem. I’ve been doing these stretches/massages for a week and I’ve noticed massive changes. My quality of life has improved in just one week. Thank you!

@@PrecisionWellbeing your one of them after manny i found pretty good because i havend seen a single one giving the right way to do so. I waited for the solution after the preach like they all do and aspected the solution your offering. To me it says you stopped to invested (think) for much better. You and all stay at the same conclusions with everybody a difernt solution whit the same outcome. Think out off the box, amd ill hope to see you a cople off years later whit reinventions. I can tell you it isnt the shoulder that gives the pain if you can digg that. And than... you wont explain that anymore what you've been doing. Its just like a chinees massage it helps for a while but didnt get rid of it.

@@mrvvrm5951 bless your heart. Is English your third or second language?
Did you type your comment from a computer?
What happened to spell check (aka Microsoft the computer running system, maybe?)?
If not, then did you use a smart phone?
All android operating systems have spell correction, besides that, Gboard has spell correct (much like Microsoft, where it will underline misspelled words,as well as improper grammar) and Samsung Board also has a spell/grammar correction.
Even though I could read what you typed, the problem lies with the fact that I'm not 100% sure because of the writing having over 50% mistakes, ie. I can only be 50% sure of what you were trying to convey. If it would have been 90% correct, then I would have been 90% sure of your message.
Hope I made sense, not trying to shame you or anyone, just something that I came across and something inside of me said "make a comment" I rarely make comments btw

Starting for about 10 years, my shoulder got progressively worse with pain and 3 years ago it really started killing me when doing activities, golf and working out/weightlifting. Saw the best Ortho Doctor in Maryland and after scans and xrays, he said a good debridement would solve my issue. So I got the surgery and went to therapy and after 4 months, it started to feel better and after 1 year, my shoulder was strong and stable again, like it was when I was younger with no pain at all. Now my right shoulder is misbehaving and will probably do the same thing. I think a good honest Ortho Doctor that is experienced and knows what he/she is doing, is the best thing you can ask for.

And what with all the new EMF stressors,4G, - and 5G threat? oh, we can say no now, but not once installed(new law). I wonder if the satellites can be taken down if all the people demand it unanimously?! They say that is the cause of the flu being worse this year: 5G gives flu-like symptoms, but we have corona virus inside us all the time, and it the virus is not as bad as they say.The video I saw of a few falling people in a subway, was not flu-behaviour at all, but radiation behaviour. it seems to be all scam to frighten, limit our freedom and group strength y gathering in job, church etc, and terrorize/control us in order for Bgates to then have prepared for deceived consent to new vaccinations. With new sicknesses.

Using an actual shoulder visual aid along with your explanation of the shoulder mechanics was invaluable! I've had 2 surgeries ( 1 on each shoulder) and have been to 4 therapists, 2 doctors and NOONE ever has the visuals to help you understand the anatomy. (May be a diagram hanging on the wall that is too small to read.) It really helps one understand when trying to figure out where the pain is; also, what the therapists
are targeting with the exercises they prescribe. Thank you soo much!

Bro, you totally explained the source of the exact pain I've been experiencing the last few months. None of the other shoulder youtubers even came close. I pulled something in my left shoulder way back in January. It recently felt like it was finally healing, until one night I slept on that side and woke up in excruciating pain. 😫 That was last week, and I have been taking gobs of NSAIDS to keep the inflammation down ever since. The pain gets really intense depending on the position my arm is in and how inflamed it may be. 😣 > 😫 Thankfully it seems to be getting better, slowly but surely. I will be doing your exercises whenever I am able. Thank you for this EXCELLENT informative video! 😊

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. You show and explain everything so well. My orthopedic surgeon doesn’t explain anything. I had a left rotator cuff surgery and after 8 months I’m am still having limited and painful external rotation. In addition, 6 months ago I developed the same thing on my right side. MRI show undersurface partial tearing of the supraspinatus tendon, anterior Labral tearing, moderate subacromial and subdeltoid bursitis, acromioclavical joint hypertrophic and inflammation, and glenohumeral effusion. Have been getting cortisone shots monthly, it helps for about 2 wks only. I’m assuming it’s age related as I’m 65 yrs old. Your videos are very helpful to me and I’m positive to others too. Great video! I have had a lot of Osteo, physio and massage for many years due to neck and shoulder tension/pain. A word of caution: if you do not see improvement in your pain/movement with treatment, consider seeing a specialist. I eventually had MRIs which discovered bone spurs and a lot of damage to the supraspinatus tendons (both shoulders) and rotator cuff issues. Surgery was my only option and now I am almost pain free and regaining movement.

Thank you so much for posting these videos. They show that with knowledge the patient can be empowered with the handling of their ailment. Its amazing. I'm not sure if it affects your practice, once people understand that they have to take the matter into their own hands, arms and will, doctor becomes more like a personal trainer. And when so well explained, we can all understand the issue and realize that we have to be our own doctor. This is priceless. Just went to see a chiropractor who didn't say much of any of this, practiced his magic on my shoulder and left the assistant come to remove the hot pack and that was goodbye. He never recommended anything, movements words of wisdom, nothing. As we see now, the information is available.

Hi Eve, thank you for your comment I'm glad it helped you. It would make me very happy if everyone took the time to understand and treat their own problems. Ultimately all I do is guide people to do the right things at the right time and the more my patients are doing themselves, the greater their results will be. There will of course ALWAYS be people who don't want to do the work themselves, so I'm not worried about not having any patients :-D
Best of luck getting your shoulder issue sorted. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Best wishes, Ashley

I had Ultrasound etc and was diagnosed with severe Bursa inflammation and Tendonitis and could not raise my arms sideways more than 30degress, the pain would keep me from sleeping and would often wake me up. The Doc wanted to inject me, I chose to drop Meat and Dairy instead. A week later it started getting better, after two weeks I could raise both my arms above head back of hands touching. After a few months I went to Osteo and he tweaked the last bits with mobility and exercise routine. Two years later I have returned to Martial Arts training, much to surprise of my Doctor. (as a bi-product my Cholesterol drop from 5.2 to 4.00 and B.P. dropped to 115/67) I still have a way to go, but at 62 I cannot expect miracles. Thanks for the reminder of the stretching and the ball, I have slacked off and will re-start my regime again.

@@ollvi Your assumptions around "bad cholestrol" have been disproven with recent science. LDL is not bad. but when it becomes oxidized from eating crap like sugar and seed oils, then it is problematic. Triglycerides are bad. All that matters is your HDL to triglyceride ratio. LDL is irrelevant. Many people on low carb diets get elevated LDL but are otherwise metabolically healthy. Cholestrol is not the root cause of heart or cardiovascular disease. Things like high blood pressure, chronically high blood sugar or nicotine use damages the endothelial cells which line your artery walls. Cholestrol then comes along to try "patch up" the problem areas much like a band aid. But it is not cholestrol which is causing the root problem

I've been having shoulder tightness just as you described for well over 30 years. I've always used weight training, but found that I could no longer perform overhead presses (with the elbows splayed out to the sides of the body). If I attempted to do so, I would experience a "pop" and then would have an extended period of serious shoulder pain. I figured I had either rotator cuff damage, bursitis or a bone spur (all "self-diagnosed") in both shoulders and thus avoided this kind of exercise (although I was able to use alternative movements, like a variety of "dumbbell raises" to include lateral, forward and lying reverse raises. Recently, I discovered I could perform dumbbell presses - with the elbows facing forward - without pain). I don't want surgery if I can help it, and my shoulders allow me to do everything I need to do in normal everyday life. The information you are providing here may be the answer for me. I will try the stretches and the work with the ball as you have described to see if that frees my shoulders up a bit more. Thanks for the information! Liked and subscribed.

      Hi Roger,
You're most welcome!! Glad to hear the video was helpful! It's awesome to hear you are making good progress with your shoulders. Did you try any of the stretches so far? I hope you continue to improve. Best wishes, Ashley.

@@PrecisionWellbeing Thanks, Ashley! Yes, I have been doing the stretches three times weekly for the past two months (usually after my weight workout, so that the joint is warmed up). As a result, I have an easier time with the lateral and frontal raise tests, but I'm still too tight to do the back scratch test very successfully (thus I assume I need to do more work with the behind the back stretches). I haven't tried the ball yet (because I've had a little trouble finding one hard enough) but I plan to incorporate that as well. Even though I have studied some anatomy over the years and have been actively involved with weight training for most of my life, I must confess that prior to viewing this video, I didn't understand the makeup of the rotator cuff very well. My primary problem has been what you described as being most common. If I do the wrong movement, I suffer pain right at the top frontal or lateral tip of the shoulder (supraspinatus/acromion process) and that impingement and subsequent swelling and inflammation explains what's been happening with me for years. I have also begun to experience (what feels like) some slight dislocation of the joint, when it's particularly inflamed (experienced as a heavy, painful thud-like popping of the humerus at times). If I'm careful with my movements, this doesn't happen, and typically my shoulder is fairly stable for day to day functioning and exercise.

That's a serious therapy gym. I've had to have the tendon of the bicep head that meets your shoulder repaired twice. I learned those exersises and more from the sports therapists I saw after surgery. Arthroscopic surgery helps but you are still compromised. Do the stretches and exercises on a regular basis. There is a therapy tool shaped like an S or question mark with toe round balls on the ends. The S shaped ends help to find those sore spots on your back and allows you to apply pressure. He never mentioned too much for too long makes it hurt worst. as you stress/inflame the muscles.
Another way to test your range of motion is to get a bath towel, hole either end with both hands behind your back and use it in the motion your would when drying your back. If you can't do it you are in need of these stretches/execises or a doctor who will prescribe therapy for you.
I've been there and still live with some pain.

The one with the ball for the pressure point is really good. I’ve been doing this exercise for years. I get an old pantyhose, cut off one leg and place a tennis ball in it and tie a knot so I don’t loose the ball. Then while I have my back to the wall I hold the pantyhose with the ball and press hard against the wall. You can easily control it this way and other painful spots by moving your body up and down firmly. I hope everyone can see what I’m saying. It helps a lot.

    • @georgeplagianos6487

Hi Penny those are good suggestions using cut off leg of a pantyhose or even leggings right? .. my question is how do you keep the tennis ball in the center of the leg instead of going up and down the leg? For me I would Center it and then tie a knot on the left side and the right side of the ball keep it in the middle... is that a useful way of doing this thanks for your ideas Penney

    • @pennyk1943
      @pennyk1943 5 ปีที่แล้ว

George Plagianos🙋‍♀️ I like your idea better because then you can hold each end of the pantyhose . I will definitely try keeping the ball in the center and see which works for me. I use the tennis ball technique for my entire body even on the side of my leg. Anything to alleviate pain so I don’t take medicine. Thanks for your suggestion Sir. Gia sou!

I love that model of the shoulder you used to describe the muscles and joints there. Now I know what underlies the root of my pain for the last 5 years. It has stopped me doing things that I love like playing guitar & working out, making a living & even picking up my nieces and nephews. Its really become like my archnemesis!
You really sound like you know what your talking about. I've seeked various treatment on the NHS and spent hundreds privately without much if any permanent or consistent relief. It kind of gets a little better or ok but its always seems like its not quite right and its just lurking to play up again at some point. Its all really quite annoying! Apologies about the rant. Spent all day on youtube and the net looking for help. Will try the stretches you suggest. Thanks for the video.

Hi Ak, I can certainly understand your frustrations! Especially if you've had this pain for 5 years! With injuries there are things you can't control such as arthritis, bony growths or just the shape of your joints. But there are also things you can control such as your joint flexibility, stability and muscular strength surrounding the joint. Definitely give these stretches a go but stick with them (at least a couple of months). I can't obviously guarantee they will solve your issue but you certainly need to stick with the srretches long enough for changes to happen.
I'd be interested to know how you get on in the future so please keep me updated. I hope you manage to sort the problem out.
      Best wishes, Ashley

Watching your video brought tears to my eyes as I could hardly do any of the movements you demonstrated! So much pain even “resting”. Been getting shots every three months which hardly helps. Where do I begin? Do I stretch til it hurts and keep pushing or back off when it just begins to hurt? Will I strengthen or just aggravate my shoulder more? Truly suffering!

Lenore Stout. Just saw this video. I have severe pain from completely torn L rotator cuff. Specialist in SoCal won't operate per my age...the only relief is from acupuncture 2 or more times per month past 3 years. Thankfully my insurance covers this. Hope this helps if you try it.

@Allison Whittaker Yes, if you go to someone who's well- recommended. I went to the head of anesthesia at a UC hospital for pain management. It stimulates endorphins and balances the systems of the body.
Also relaxes tight muscles. Best wishes!
