Figured out I had a broken right rail. Watched your video and bought one for 8 bucks...boom. Fixed. I have a happy kid again. THANKS SO MUCH!
Great video, ive been dealing with the left side of my joycon busted for months now. Sent it in to nintendo to fix, the left worked for like a week and they wiped all my save data. This worked perfectly and it took me maybe 30 minutes max

Hi! Great video man, My switch has this problem, but the rigth joycon Charge in portable mode but it is not sync in that mode, i can use the rigth joycon but in wireless mode. What can i do? i already change that part once.
can you pls help me for only a little bit? my right joycon is not being read by the switch (whether it's inserted in the switch body or not) i dont have tools to open the switch as of the moment but i was able to peek and see the contact points of the railing and the right joycon, and i can see that it has missing some of the "teeth" in the contact points, both the one from the railing and the one from the joycon. should i replace the railing and the joycon?

I have the same issue as shin on the right side and the switch charges my joycon. Could the joycon rail be demaged?

But I wasn't aware of this because i bought it used and I tried it out they were working fine, it did keep telling me to push in the right joycon because it wasn't completely in i guess but it was charging and it worked fine so i thought it was maybe the control or it was dirty on the slider so i ignored it thinking if anything ill just buy new ones. So I wanted to factory reset the device and once I turned it on it asked me to slide both controls in and like the one the video. And I'm stuck on that screen! Where can I buy that part and the name of that part?

Hey, my Switch won't recognize any Joycon since this afternoon. It happened out of the sudden but for both sides. I was at the eshop, left the Switch running for some time and when I got back to it, the Joycons weren't working anymore.
As it happened to both sides at the same time I am afraid something more major is broken. Maybe something overheated? What's your opinion?
My left one keeps showing the animation of removing, but then I have to fully remove & put it back.. it works again, but it keeps doing it.. so is this the way to fix my issue??
So a friend of a friend said they could fix it and long story short they destroyed they receiving end. The teeth are all bent like they forced it? Is their a way to fix it that or should I just buy a whole new switch?

Hey there so I have a question. I got a switch that apparently the area where the ribbon cables connects to on the motherboard has been crushed. So the little lever that you open and close to lock the ribbon cables is completely gone and some of the wires of that component are sticking out. Is that fixable at all?
You have to replace the broken parts. It’s fixable but you can’t do it yourself. You have to take it to a professional

My left rail is doing this but not as bad. Sometimes it will connect sometimes it won't. Pretty annoying

I replaced the rail and it still doesn't work. Joycon works on my other switch.
With the old rail and new rail it does not register it, but charges it still.
Is it possible to reattach the connections to the rails without replaceing the rails themselves?
Yes but is you won’t save much money, so is better just to replace it in full

Try another joycon. Borrow a friend's for like 5 seconds and slap it on your switch. If it doesn't work, then its the rail. If it does work, then you just need another joycon.

How do I do this without joycons? Mine broke years ago, so I don't have any currently. I use a pro controller, so how do I turn on my console now?

The thing for me is that when I put it on the switch it works, but as soon as I hear that snap it doesn’t work, like right before I snap it on

The right joycon rail in my switch has a torn ribbon cable & like a fool I factory reset the device.

I bought an unpatched switch recently on eBay. to modify it , also bought a set of cheap 3rd party joycons for $ 35 . I powered it on a few days ago when I received it . It goes directly to the joycon connection screen , and the right joycon is really tough to slide on , you almost have to force it , which I don't wanna do ! could it be the cheap Joycons ? or maybe the Tablet ? This Sucks !!!!! haha Can someone please throw some suggestions my way Please ..... The Ebay seller I think gives a 30 day refund but if It's just the Joycons

Really useful but.. I have different problem with one of two joycon controller. Is connected normal it is play games normal. But... While charging suddenly not charging and stop in process of changing and is still charging. Do you know what is going on?

I replaced my left rail, still won’t read as connected to the console but will charge and recognize it as if I’m playing with them off… not sure what to do.
In this case the problem is in the controller , that can also be fix , I will address it in a future video
I checked the controller in my husbands and it works so now I am at a total loss. I used a meter to make sure the rail replacement was good too :/

Where are you from. As I'm having issues on my right joycon.
It works perfectly but the problem is the bottom on the edge of the console has stopped working. The button on the back both work fine but the small button on the edge work perfect on the left side. I play snimal crossing new horizons and the button on the left edge which you can switch clothes to clean you home and the right side button was to bring up a key pad to talk to friend who are playing their acnh game. I don't know why it's stopped please anyone help as I would love to fix this one as I can't afford £330 for a new one.

Hi , I know is been long time sims you commented but you can actually just replace one joy con complete it may costo like $40 or less , also you can replace or most likely cleans the internal , gets dirty and don’t make good contact sometimes

I'm sorry, i just cannot understand what your problem is so i can't help. Try specifying it more(I'm not making fun of you)
Press the button for 12+ seconds for a reset then press the button again
yo, you forgot to mention the two side screws in the middle of the rails before you take off the back panel. make sure you don leave stuff like that out so other people dont break their switches like i just did.

The problem was the joycon, I had tried 2 different joycons and any of them worked so I thought it was the switch.

I’m so stupid, please before you take apart your switch and purchase everything. Try borrowing someone’s JoyCon or use another you have. I did all of these steps just to find out my cords were perfect. Went in GameStop earlier and bought a new pre owned right JoyCon and it instantly worked. I guess I’ll keep this in mind for future reference. It was odd because the previous JoyCon didn’t have any physical damage so I believed it was my Switch itself. God those screws are so small and it took forever to take apart and put back together. Fucking Nintendo.
But this was a great tutorial, if another JoyCon doesn’t work you’ll most likely need it.
