    Before taking your switch apart, try this first: Take a small amount of tape and fold it in half so it is twice as thick and sticky on both sides then stick it on the metal slider piece of the switch between the side rails so it'll be between the console and the controller. This helps give just a little bit more friction to hold the joycon on better so it doesn't disconnect all the time while playing. Hope this helps!

    THANK YOU! Connector cleaner did the trick, I had already tried cleaning it was alcohol and a q-tip. 20 videos, 50+ forum threads/articles, and 2 calls to Nintendo (unfortunately out of warranty). This was the last thing I was going to try before giving up and buying a new one. I had factory reset the device and it wouldn't go past setup until I "connected my joy con" which it refused to see as connected.

    To make your life easier to put back the metal tube just put the rail and the gold pins back in to position in the nintendo switch itself and THEN put the metal tube in. Less risky than doing it in the air, dont want to accidentally slip your hands and rip the cable.

  • @jonathansantiago5327
    @jonathansantiago5327 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    There is one quick fix that I’ll share here (I had tried the WD40 and tried to bend the pins upwards, to no avail):
    Get yourself a cardboard from a cracker, cereal or any type of box that has a thin constitution. Use your scissors to cut a small square that will fit the lower part to the Joycon receptor, and gently slide the Joycon over that piece as it is inserted (Do Not Force It; If It Struggles, Forget It). And there you have it. That piece of cardboard will create the pressure that the Switch Joycon Receptor apparently needed.

    Update. So yeah, after using Contact Cleaner and compressed air, the issue returned on my right Joycon. I decided to buy a Joycon metal lock kit so that I could replace my wobbly joycon and to have the right tools to open the Switch. Lo and behold, I could use my Switch again in handheld mode. At first I was afraid of opening my Switch and breaking some parts, but this video helped me in opening and cleaning my Switch. Thank you so much! It is hard to find a repair shop during the pandemic. Just Under 5USD (203PHP in my country, shipping included) I was able to repair my Switch. I could hunt properly again in MH: Rise. Thank you! Thank you so much sthetix. I will subscribe to your channel! More power to you!
