End of the day, running and driving is always better than sitting and rotting (even if it's garaged). As much as I prefer internal combustion over electric, I'd rather see classics on the road, than hidden away somewhere never to see the light of day again.

And look up how much electricity is already used in the oil and gasoline business

Considering it started as a rolling shell headed for the scrap heap, I'm totally down with an EV restomod. That being said even if it was a runner, it was his car so he can do what he wants with it, and i can appreciate the time and effort that he put into it. Even if i dont totally agree with it.

Mini, maybe but classic minis are fun cars not daily drivers, so for the money i'd be going to swiftune for a new fun powerplant. Land Rover fine, lessens the fumes outside school when you go pick up Porscha and Tarquin. Middle of the range 911's yeah why not, plenty of them sat around with broken engines, but E-Type Jag? Nope. There are some classics where the engine is definitely part of the experience and those cars should be left well alone.
Then you've still got the problems you get from middle of the road ev's, high entry price, range (100-200 miles quoted for most of these kits) & resale value.
£65000 for an electric mini with 100ish mile range is something for die hard ev fanatics, not classic car fans.
