SEMIYA PAYASAM
INGREDIENTS
1. Milk 1 1/2 -2 ltr
2. Semiya 1 cup
3. Sugar 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 cup
4. Nuts 15-20
5. Ghee 3 tbsp
6. Kismis 2 tbsp
PREPARATION
1. Fry the nuts and kismis in hot ghee and set aside.
2. Add the vermicelli and fry till golden in ghee ,
add half the milk and water,then stir , boil till well done.
3. Add the sugar , boil 5 minutes well stirring, add the remaining
milk and boil well stirring, till reduced slightly.
4. Put off the flame, keep stirring ,when slightly cooled
add the fried nuts , kismis .stir well. set aside.

Making semiya payasam is simple and easy, have made Over a hundred times...but still watched your video ...just for the sheer pleasure of hearing you speak. And obviously .. got a good tip ..to add nuts after cooling the payasam a bit, so that it retains its crunchiness. Thank you Teacher. I too don't add elaichi in all payasam. It sometimes over powers the other subtle flavours.

These all originally is from temples. There no one adds cardamom not even nuts. Still highly exotic. And that strong taste reduces the taste of palpayasam
With jaggery and all it is ok.. Likewise garammasala overpowers
@@cookingwithsumateacher7665 very true. My father in law also does not prefer adding anything even in palpayasam. Ney payasam also we add only fried coconut slices. It's an acquired taste and one has to develop the taste to enjoy subtle flavours. Some cuisine uses too many ingredients which actually doesn't allow one to enjoy the flavours of the vegetables used in it.

Tr റെ ഒന്നു നേരിൽ കാണമെന്നുണ്ട്. നിലമ്പൂര് ഒരു സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് മാർച്ച് 2021-ൽ റിട്ടയറായ ടീച്ചറാണ് ഞാൻ നാട്ടിൽ (കോതനല്ലൂര് 1 വരുമ്പോൾ കുമാരനല്ലൂര് അമ്പലത്തിൽ വരാറുണ്ട്. ടീചറിൻ്റെ എല്ലാ പാചകങ്ങളും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാറുണ്ട്.
