Ingredients
Semiya -1/2 cup
Milk -2 1/2 cup
Water -1 cup
Sugar -1/2cup
Cardamom - 2
Salt - one pinch
Ghee -
Cashwnuts -10
Raisins -10
Method
Roast ½ glass of vermicelli and add it to a heated ghee in a wok. Roast it till it is light brown in shade.
Take a small cooker and add the roasted semiya, 2 ½ glass of milk, 1 glass of water , ½ cup of sugar and 2 cardamom . heat it for 2 whistles. Let the pressure be released by itself.
Add a pinch of salt. Add fried cashew and raisins. Mix well. Check for the sweetness .

I have been cooking Semia Payasam in this manner for the past 3 yrs. For me, it was just like a trial & error!
The only difference is that I boil the milk separately as we cannot trust (many a time)the pressure cooker completely!
This method is literally a blessing during Onam!
