I got to go kayak fishing with some big gators in view before. I took comfort in the knowledge that no kayaker has been eaten by a Gator yet, but also knew the chances of me being first on the menu was not zero! 😱 😆
I'm a big guy, over 350 lbs, and after watching your review on the pelican catch mode 110 I purchased it. And I want to say thank you for reviewing it because I have been having a lot of fun. Great video keep them coming
You have no business being in any kayak at your weight, but if you must the only brand rated for someone your size/weight is the Nucanoe. Your risking your life in the wrong boat, let alone your health at that weight.
awesome trip y'all! nets are worth their weight in gold down there for sure!!! the bowfin are actually good to eat but they have to be fresh. i have a video of us cooking them 4 different ways with blackened and fried the faves (of course!) jacks are a blast to catch as well but take a special skill to fillet around the bones. i knew when i saw that orange and yellow spinner he was gonna have the hot bait. that color just works there without a doubt. red is the next choice for me. we are planning to run another long trip this winter if you get a wild hair and need to review any camping gear!
Great video! Close to my neck of the woods (North Florida). I've kayaked around gators many tiimes but I don't think you could pay me to go kayaking in the Okefenokee! I don't know if you've ever looked into it, but I think a kayak camping trip down the Suwannee from the Okefenokee to the Gulf would be right up your alley! The Suwannee River Wilderness State Trail -- so many amazing springs along the way, fishing, river camps - I think it would make an epic video series!
I would love to do that trip. I did a 3-day trip across the Refuge (video coming soon) and it was one of the best trips ever. We spent 2 of those days on the Suwanee. It would be amazing to go all the way to the Gulf.
Very cool adventure....I live nearby and have seen how alligators behave. They will take your fish...and they can stay underwater for more than an hour. They can lie flat on the bottom in 3 feet of water..... and you won't see them....12ft long 600lbs...but nearly invisible 🤔 They move so quickly and quietly for animals so large.
I just moved and never fished waters like these. I am way up the Savannah river on the Georgia/South Carolina border, along the Savannah National Wildlife refuge, where the water salinity is minimal. I do see the fisherman checking their blue crap traps, I believe. I just bought a 16ft Kayak. Any tip for lure types, or must have gear the make the experience all that better? Thanks
Buncha clowns acting like these clearly aggressive gators are just someone's pet dog and no big deal. Your eventually going to win that Darwin award. Yes they want your fish, but they also want you, if you doubt that even a little bit, your bigger fool than I thought.
DJ is the man, he's helped me out a lot with info on the wildlife around there and is an excellent tour guide.

I have that kayak and love it after a year. Best fishing craft for the money out there. Thank you for the vid. We need more!!
I need more trips like this! :)
Todays episode has been brought to you by the new Winchester 12 guage Kayak paddle.
Paddle around the gator? Okay
Fish around the gator? Still okay.
Stand up fishing around the gator? Nope.
😂🤣😂🤣 Ken Crazy!

@@PaddleTV , will be looking forward to that video! Sounds amazing!
I paddled in few gator places in Florida, plus sharks, manatees and dolphins

It really is amazing how such a big animal can move so quietly.

Awesome video! I am wonder what kind of line do you suggest to use when fishing this swamp?
This video reminds me of the old adage. A fool and his body are soon parted.
Didn't watch the video, did you use the gator as a kayak or rod? Kayak sounds more plausible, but who knows? 😂
Brave!

Ha! Thanks for the valuable insight RiverPirate...
