Hard to watch this one when you see how much weight he had lost and the words are so on-point as a last song. Only sadder song is the one they recorded for Freddie after he died. That was the last time John appeared also.
So sad for him but he did so well in this song, you could see that he was not well. Great loss to the music Industry and all of us who just love Queen.
There's a reason they filmed this in B&W. Watch the color footage. You can see how sick Freddie was. NONE of the band is smiling in this. They KNEW. But the most heartbreaking thing? As sick and in pain as he was, Freddie's smile at that last "I still love you". That's Freddie saying "I know, loves. But life goes on. Be your best selves".
I cry every time I watch this. It was Freddie's swan song and he had to work so hard to do this but he did it for his fans. Why oh why couldn't he have been saved? Nobody lasts forever but it was absolute tragedy he died like this. What an amazingly brave person. What a wonderful band.

The video was filmed in May 1991, and it was the last music video Freddie Mercury did before he passed away in November later that year. He looks so frail, and yet he still had the energy and voice of the legend that he is! The song is a wonderful way to cap off a decades-long odyssey of the most amazing music! We still love you too, Freddie!
Well said. My birthday is two days after his. I was going to also mention that this was the final video they did before he passed. Like you mentioned, he was so frail and weak and that's why he didn't move around much while filming. He certainly was an awesome and amazing performer and is greatly missed by so many! No one like him out there! I get tears while watching this, but also smile.
The way he looks into the camera at the end and says "I still love you" is just heart-breaking. It's clear to me that he was speaking to all of his fans, saying goodbye to all of them, reassuring them of his feelings towards them.
I've always thought Brian's guitar was crying, lamenting, in this video. It was as if there was an invisible cord between Freddie's voice and Brian's guitar where one left off the other continued on.

@@karensilvera6694 I've seen this so many times over the years, but I still can't watch it without having tears in my eyes. Especially when he looks straight into the camera at the end and tells us he loves us 😥 He was so, so sick, but he still gave his all to leave us with this message.
I honestly can’t listen to this song without tearing up and/or sometimes sobbing. This song used to be heartbreaking because of losing Freddie and this being his final goodbye. Now as I creep nearer to my sixties, with my kids grown, and having lost loved ones, it has a complete different meaning to it and hits my heart even harder. Those were the days ❤
Hey it’s ok I get torn up when I see this video too but Freddie gave it his all probably just another day at the office for him but he was so brilliant and gave a incredible performance cause he knew the end was coming god bless Freddie Mercury
I could see by the expression on Amber’s face that she was realizing this was a very sick, dying Freddie. I absolutely love your compassion, empathy & awareness of the underlying meaning & tone of these songs. RIP Freddie. You will never be forgotten!
Roger wrote this after watching his kids running around, but he said he obviously had Freddie the back of his mind while he wrote it. This was Roger’s goodbye song for Freddie, Brian’s was The Show Must Go On. They both did him good.
I'd say Brians goodbye song was really No one but you. Even though it was written for Princess Diana, he said it's also about Freddie and was a way for him to get over his grief. Freddie didn't sing it obviously but it's really all in all a true Queen song.
@@winnetouch Definitely No One But You. Brian wrote it and sent it to Roger who didn't do anything with it until a couple of years later. Roger then suggested that they do a Freddie tribute song and dug this song out and finally looked at it. He tweaked it a bit and it is the perfect Freddie memorial song, IMHO. The last time John performed on a video. They filmed it in B and W also. The day of this shoot, Freddie was in so much pain that watching him walk up the steps to the stage was just heartbreaking. He watched the footage and knew that he was performing his last. You couldn't make him look healthy but he wanted to do it and persevered through. A wonderful song.
The way Freddie looks into the camera and whispers "I still love you" was a direct message to the fans. They knew. Freddie used to say these words to the audience, in the middle of the song "Love Of My Life". Usually pointing at them. After all these years, it's still hard to watch this video. It must have been a hell of a job, for Freddie, and for the others too, to make this video. In a making of video you can see Dave Clark (of The Dave Clark Five) behind the scenes. He supported his good friend Freddie.
Freddie was so incapacitated by AIDS at this point that he couldn’t move his legs and had to wear layers of makeup. So he did what a showman would do: moved his arms around like crazy and exaggerated his facial expressions. If this video doesn’t break your heart, nothing will.
@@phylliskress2296 There is one in color and it really shows the extent of his illness. I don't care how often I see this, it still brings me to tears.
@@alicesmith7020 I've watched/listened to the one in colour, too (albeit after I first watched this version when it came out) and Freddie looked like he was struuggling to stay on his feet due to his illness. Heck, he didn't move as much as he usually did because he was in pain...
Such a bitter-sweet video. Freddie was quite ill during this period. According to Brian May, Freddie had to stop and rest quite frequently during these sessions. Sadly, he would pass on shortly after this performance. Thanks for all of the wonderful music, and RIP Freddie. 🙏.
I don't hole anything against gays, (hell I'm a little Bi myself) but Freddie took being to new levels his life not singing was a nonstop orgy. some say it's better to burn out than to fade away. Freddie burned bright hot.
Buried a family member on April 1, 1991 due to aids. I saw stuff like the award they got where Freddie didn’t even speak, and I knew. Knew he was ill and wasn’t long for our world. When he died, it was like losing her all over again.
After rumours persisted about Freddie's health, the video was filmed and released in black-and-white to hide the full extent of his illness. In the video, Freddie is seen wearing a waistcoat featuring pictures of cats, that was made for him by Queen costume designer Diana Moseley. In the video's most emotional part, Freddie gives fans and loved ones a final farewell, by looking straight at the camera as the song ends. Freddie whispers "I still love you", which are his last words on camera. Video director Dolezal had been told to keep things quick due to Mercury's ailing health, but before shooting finished, Freddie requested one more take for the last lyrics of the song ("Those days are gone now but one thing's still true / When I look and I find I still love you"). Dolezal said: "In these last few seconds of that song, he gives us a résumé of his whole life: 'I was a big superstar, but don't take it too seriously.' And then, 'I still love you,' which is to the fans. Then he walks out of life. Even in his last moments, he planned his exit artistically. That's how he wanted it to be."
This was the last video Freddie and Queen ever produced. He looks so ill but it was his final goodbye to all of us fans before he passed and to tell us he still loved us. A total legend. There'll never be another Freddie or anyone like him. He was unique!!!
Have you ever heard Mother Love? It was the final song Freddie did. He never finished it and only did half the song before he passed. Brian had to finish it
Hi Jay and Amber, This video was actually shot in May 1991, but not released until September 1991, Freddie passed away 2 months later aged 45, the last " I still love you" was for us fans, the song is from their 1991 album Innuendo!! 😀 😀 RIP Freddie 🙏 🙏
Although it was written by drummer Roger Taylor, many have adopted this as Freddie's swan song. I'm happy to have seen Queen in 1978. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my whole life! Although this is a beautiful song, many can't help but shed a tear when they hear it. When he looked at the camera at the end and said I still love you, most people took that for goodbye.
Roger still sings this in his solo shows, with his band, in their time with Paul Rodgers on lead vocals and in the many tours with Adam Lambert over the past decade.
The look on Freddie's face when he says "I still love you" at the end of the video just pierces my soul and makes me miss him so much more than I already do. He passed away not long after this. So I imagine it was his last chance to say what he felt. I still love you, Freddie and you'll never be forgotten. You'll always be missed!! RIP Freddie!! ❤🙏
I've always loved this song and it's wild how it hits sooooo differently and harder as I've aged. At 20 it was a sweet pretty song, at 30 it spoke even more loudly to my heart, now at 40 it's a bitter-sweet ode to memories of time long passed.
3:59 ...and keep in mind...Freddie was here already a dying man, in pain of the complications of AIDS ad still.., but stil... he drops a vocal that put all his critics back then to shame... What a performer..
Brian May was the guitarist, Roger Taylor is on the drums. A huge part of why the video was in black and white was to help conceal how illness was affecting Freddie's complexion, but the resulting imagery pairs so fantastically well with the gentle nostalgia of the song.
This was Freddie Mercury's goodbye to the fans. He was sick and in the final stage of dying from AIDS as he died mere months after this video was shot. It's so sad but so powerful to watch especially that part at the end where Freddie looks directly into the camera and whispers "I Still Love You". I get chills watching it each time and Freddie was ever the ultimate showman even till the very end. Great reactions here! You should react to Queen's videos for "Headlong" and "The Invisible Man" next.
This was one of Freddie's very last recordings. He knew he didn't have long left. He was very heavily made up to try to disguise how frail he was. The one thing that never let him down was that magnificent voice
And slightly mad was the last one they where together for the video , in Days of our lives video , Brians part where later added in (he did promotions for Innuendo that day (in America ), and coulnt make it in time also a few days before this shoot , Freddie did sing the verses of Motherlove
It was very hard for him to stand to up at this point. He was Literally dying. He had 0 fat on his body . Diana Mosley had a ton of clothes under his clothes , because he was freezing and suffering so badly. His right foot was half gone , and this incredible human being did this video for us . God Bless our Beautiful Freddie . What a generous spirit and beautiful, beautiful soul💕
Brian is actually on the guitar and it's Roger Taylor that's on the drums. Can't believe it's been as long as it has that Freddie's been gone, even though I know it is. He'll always be an amazing showman and am sure he's giving some awesome concerts to those that have gone before us as well!! Great catch to the cats on his vest, Jay! He loved cats, so that makes me love the guy more!!
All hail the "Queen".... This was Freddie's last video...he was so sick..but he gave it his all...thank you Freddie for sharing your gift with the world.
Written by Roger about his family, but soon took on a different meaning. This was to be the final video that Freddie was to film, it became his goodbye to us all, his last "I still love you".
This song never fails to tear up at the end, I hold it together so well until Brian comes in with that solo! Freddie was so ill and in so much pain but he got through this video like the icon he is. That final 'I still love you' was a direct message to his fans before he died. Simply beautiful 💔
Queen is one of those bands they just don’t make anymore. So eclectic. So great. Yet they were so fun and didn’t take themselves seriously. They could do a beautiful song like this and then turn around to do a kick-ass rocker. One of my favorite stories is learning how Mike Myers gave Brian May a copy of the “Wayne’s World” scene where they sing “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the movie. Freddie was very sick and near death, but Brian said he saw it and laughed. He loved it. That warms my heart. ❤
I can't hear this song without tearing up. It was released after Freddie's death which is what he wanted. Partly due to fact he was so ill and his last gift to the fans. I'm a 70's baby so I missed the early years of Queen and only found them around the time of Live Aid concert. What a gift to music he was. God bless him.
Thank you for this reaction. I had never heard this song. How moving. Thank you Freddie. David Bowie did something similar before he left us. I'm so busy living life that I don't look back much, but songs like these give me an excuse and they always bring a tear because they remind me how precious life is and the people around me. I'm glad that I've enjoyed it with them and I hope that I've contributed my share.
@@KenRoerden Love Warren Zevon. I grew up outside of Phila when Zevon, the Hooters, Robert Hazard, Alan Mann, The A's and so many other great Phila bands (Beru Revue) were out.

Im a grown man of 55,and this still cuts me down and wipe a tear.when you look at your partner or family, this must get each person in one way or another. 🇬🇧 x
I always considered this video Freddie's official goodbye to his fans. It's always very emotional to watch especially when he says "I still love you" at the end and seems to be talking directly to his fans. His vocal performance at a time when he was so ill is astounding. Amazing.
This was his last album and all of the songs hit the heart. He was so sick with AIDS at this point and he's still singing about love, hope, and basically to enjoy the time you have. The lyric "sit back and enjoy it through your kids" really hits me square in the feels as a father of three.
It's like the lyrics to “Somebody to Love”, which Freddie wrote decades before he got sick. ‘Each morning I get up I die a little Can barely stand on my feet Take a look in the mirror and cry Lord, what you're doing to me?’ He was so brave and professional to give his fans what he had left to give.
This was Freddie’s goodbye. He knew he didn’t have much time left and wanted to to give his fans one more song. The last lyrics he ever performed for all of us… “I still love you.” The feelings mutual Freddie, even all these years later. We all still love you.
Roger wrote it about his kids but with Freddie it has another context, during making this video Brian was in L.A., so the footage with him was shot later!
Listen to Mother Love. Freddie became so ill that he couldn't complete the track and Brian May finished the vocals after Freddie passed on. Freddie said he felt tired and would come back to complete the song. He never made it back to the studio. There's a real poignant moment when Freddie sings his last line and the next you hear is Brian and you know at that point Freddie was gone
Such a beautiful and reminiscent song.. nostalgic, Queen were truly Phenomenal! ABsolute Legends. Freddie Mercury was a truly phenomenal talent - there'll never be anybody that can match him!!
I don't think you realised how sick he was here. The poor guy could hardly stand but he had the courage to make one final video. They all knew it. Such an emotional video
And he tells us all goodbye and I love you to his fans. RIP to the best front man . And Brian was in the USA when they did the video and he come back and added his guitar .
The first time I heard this song was the day Freddie died and they played this video on BBC in the UK as part of a tribute ......yes I cried my heart out
Amber and Jay, I loved your reaction to this song. Jay caught the lightness and rock while Amber caught how sick Freddie was and how he was saying goodbye to his fans. I recommend "Mother Love" as your next song (it was the last one that Freddie recorded); or any other song off of the album. It was released after Freddie passed. Another great one is "No One But You (Only the Good Die Young)" from 1997. It is the only song without Freddie that John Deacon participated in. He withdrew from the band after the that song as Freddie was a father-figure to him and he couldn't go on in the band.
Bittersweet when I saw this on my feed. So happy that you get to experience it but I've never been able to watch this without tears and haven't done for a very long time. Today I made an exception. One final video, one final message from Freddie to the fans. A beautiful song from the pen of Roger, the drummer which he still performs live today. Thank you J & A for reminding how beautiful this is. And yes, I'm crying again! ❤️
This was Freddie's goodbye to us. That last I still love you was for us. And we knew it. At the end Freddie would drink alcohol in the studio to help with the pain. He needed to record until he absolutely couldn't. Because he was a performer. It was in every part of him. I feel so bad for Brian, Roger and John. It broke their hearts. By the way Brian is on the guitar ❤
Yes, Brian wasn't actually at the shoot. They dubbed him in afterwards. I can't remember if he was on vacation or had another commitment but I know that they added him to the video later. Brian's final little smile says it all. A tremendous loss to music, performance and a wonderful man. I just saw Adam Lambert and Queen in Denver and they were wonderful. Roger has arthritis so badly that playing is really difficult for him but he persevered and Brian had a heart attack during the pandemic that took him quite a while to recover from. I wasn't sure I would get to see them again but so glad that I did. Brian came out to the end of the runway several times and I was against the stage. Could have reached up and touched the Red Special. He smiled at me and it made my 70 year old heart sing. They also set a drum kit up on the runway and Roger played a number from out there. This is the first time I have seen them do that. Tyler Warren was there to back Roger up. I know that some of the shows, Roger's son plays back up for them. I have long told my daughter that when I die, I don't want a funeral service. I want her to cremate me, take me to the cemetery, throw my ashes in the grave and blast Queen songs for an hour. My perfect send off!
EVEN AS SICK AS HE WAS HE COULD STILL SOUND AS HE ALWAYS DID ...WHAT A BRAVE MAN AND A TRUE LEGEND ...QUEEN BEST BAND OF ALL TIME...GOD BLESS FREDDIE. ....
I've watched this over the past 30 years, and every time, it leaves me in tears, not only was it his swan song but we now know how much effort he had to put in to get this done, he was physically in pain and exhausted at the end of this and then we lost him in November. we miss you Freddie!
The man was so very brave. He wanted to keep performing for as long as possible. It was truly his goodbye to us. You should also react to No One But You. It was performed after Freddie's passing by the other three members, written by Brian. It's a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul.
This is always such a sad one to watch; I knew that Amber would connect to the emotional heart of the song straight away....not just the words, but why it is so meaningful with the timing of the video. [ I always feel you are someone with highly developed emotional intelligence and can imagine what an especially lovely Mummy you must be for your children to grow up with 💞 ]
Whenever I see that final "I still love you" as Freddie said his farewell to us, it brings a huge lump to my throat. It is probably the most emotional video ever made.
It's amazing how someone could be dying and be in so much pain, yet give such a flawless performance in this video. The world was robbed of this man and his gifts way too early. But we were truly blessed to have him while we did and to have his works to be able to enjoy. As someone who grew up listening to Freddy and Queen, it is great to watch others listen and learn how truly unique and special this man was.
Freddie stopped making music around the same time they made this video as he recorded his last vocals for the song Mother Love, which also has a very strong emotional feeling to the music. Freddie was so brave to be able to perform this as he was looking very frail by this point in time. It was written by Roger reminiscing on his life with his family and deeper still, the end of Queen as a band and Freddie's battle with AIDS.
This song was written by Roger Taylor, and was actually not about Freddie Mercury's declining health. It was about Roger's family. Obviously it took on an extra meaning.
Whether true or not it's a bit like the song Who Wants To Live Forever, which even though recorded long before Freddie got sick (and was for the Highlander movie), and AIDS was even known about, that wasn't written by Freddie but takes on extra meaning after what happened to him. Either way I just love this song and it was Freddie's goodbye to all his fans to tell us he still loved us!!!
@Spells No, it was only Roger. For their last few albums they agreed to share songwriting credits, no matter who wrote the song. Headlong is another example. It's credited as written by all of them, but in reality Brian May wrote it on his own.
@@mattpotter8725 - People were dying of AIDS in the 1970's and no doubt way before that but it was officially identified and recognized as a specific disease entity in 1981. The Highlander movie was made in 1986. Freddie was diagnosed in April 1987 but had symptoms and suspected he had it for a couple of years before that. My cousin was a doctor who ran an AIDS clinic. A dreadful disease. I cared for AIDS patients.
@@susieq9801 Ok, you are right, thank you for connecting me. Maybe I should have passed this better. Whatever the case a Freddie didn't write the song, Brian May did so whether Freddie knew he had AIDS or not doesn't matter and the song is about a supernatural warrior from the Highlands of Scotland who can only be killed by other immortals by certain means who grows old seeing those he loved die and questioning his immortality.
It is so very difficult for me to watch this. This video was released two months before Freddie passed in 1991. It's an absolutely beautiful song, but to me it's not the version of Freddie that I want to remember (respectfully). Great reaction as always guys!
My mum loved Freddie Mercury and was heartbroken when he died. Back in the very early Nineties, when they used to show this video on TV, she would make me and my big sister shoosh while she sang along and she would blow Freddie a little kiss when he sings "I still love you."
As many have already said, Freddy was VERY sick at this time, and everyone knew he was dying. I remember hearing how he had to fight to find the strength to just get through this shoot, but being the showman he was, he pushed himself through it. This isn’t my favorite song by them, but it’s the most touching, because we see this man, who was so full of life, knowing he’s near the end, and pushing himself for one last performance.
This song was penned by Roger Taylor, though it was credited to QUEEN as all the songs were in that album. Even "Delilah"! (Like that one was written by anyone other than Freddie)! Roger says this tune was about his kids, his family. Still, in creating such a song at the time with his awareness of Freddie's illness, how can one not have that in the back of the mind as words flow out on the page? Certainly Freddie always had the ability to make us believe that he believed in the lyrics he sang. Great magic & great sadness rolled into one. Thanks for your reaction
Queen is one of the greatest groups ever. Freddie had a voice scientists couldn't figure out. Brian May worked with NASA. This was a pinnacle band in so many ways. I was able to hear them once, 1977, my Mom went and was 7 or so months pregnant with me. I've always loved Queen. The Queen tribute concert after Freddie died was amazing! Wembley Stadium 92???
I'm so glad you did this song! It didn't get that much attention at the time. It was from the last Queen album Innuendo released in 1991. Freddie kept recording until he couldn't. In this video you could see he was sick. In 1991 when he finally announced to the world that he had AIDS, he died the next day. It's such a beautiful song and so moving. There was a huge tribute concert in 1992 where George Michael and Lisa Stansfield performed an amazing cover of this. You should also check it out.
This is Queen and Freddie Mercury literally just months before he died in november 1991. The song was mainly written by the drummer Roger Taylor about his life/kids, but ended up meaning so much more as the final Queen video Freddie would ever make...
This song is so bittersweet. It’s Freddie and the Band’s love letter to the fans, and you can feel it. To bring me up after this I always listen to their “Was it All Worth it.” It also looks back, but it’s a banger. ❤️
"Was it all worth it" is actually my favorite among what I like to call Freddy's farewell songs (I know "Days of our lives" was written by Roger, but the timing and this video made it all about Freddy). AFAIK, Freddy already knew what was coming when he wrote it, but it's such a fun, joyous look back at his life and career! Pure Freddy ❤
Freddie was so sick, but still sang his heart out! This was his last video, his good bye.
Apparently, just before filming, he took a shot of vodka and said, “Let’s do this, darlings!”

I saw the moment Amber realized that this was filmed just prior to Freddie's passing. I could see her heart break. 💔
That's why this video was shot in black&white (to help hide his external symptoms.)
@@phylliskress2296 There is one in color and it really shows the extent of his illness. I don't care how often I see this, it still brings me to tears.
@@alicesmith7020 I'm a tough(ish) 50 year old man and I cry like a baby when hearing this song or watching the video
Unfortunatley, one of Freddie's feet had to be amputated because of wound on it caused by AIDS.
@@alicesmith7020 I've watched/listened to the one in colour, too (albeit after I first watched this version when it came out) and Freddie looked like he was struuggling to stay on his feet due to his illness. Heck, he didn't move as much as he usually did because he was in pain...
As a grown man, this song still makes me cry. Rest easy Freddie.
True!!
Such a bitter-sweet video. Freddie was quite ill during this period. According to Brian May, Freddie had to stop and rest quite frequently during these sessions. Sadly, he would pass on shortly after this performance. Thanks for all of the wonderful music, and RIP Freddie. 🙏.
And the day that Freddie died was quite literally the day after confirming that he had AIDS
I don't hole anything against gays, (hell I'm a little Bi myself)
but Freddie took being to new levels his life not singing was a nonstop orgy.
some say it's better to burn out than to fade away. Freddie burned bright hot.
@@ricksmith-wz8th There was so much slut shaming in the press at the time - luckily the world has developed more sexual maturity since then.
Could not of put it better.
Have you ever heard Mother Love? It was the final song Freddie did. He never finished it and only did half the song before he passed. Brian had to finish it
Freddie Mercury's last words to the public " I still love you". We'll never stop loving you.😢😢😢
He was so sick at this point, but he was a pro. We miss him so much. Love you Freddie!
Hi Jay and Amber, This video was actually shot in May 1991, but not released until September 1991, Freddie passed away 2 months later aged 45, the last " I still love you" was for us fans, the song is from their 1991 album Innuendo!! 😀 😀
RIP Freddie 🙏 🙏
Although it was written by drummer Roger Taylor, many have adopted this as Freddie's swan song. I'm happy to have seen Queen in 1978. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my whole life! Although this is a beautiful song, many can't help but shed a tear when they hear it. When he looked at the camera at the end and said I still love you, most people took that for goodbye.
Roger still sings this in his solo shows, with his band, in their time with Paul Rodgers on lead vocals and in the many tours with Adam Lambert over the past decade.
@@CandleLight1974 Yes, I've seen videos of him singing it, always a joy to see.
Bravo...perfectly stated!
I agree. I think it is true of many good songs.
💜
So true
Freddie has been gone about 32 years but his presence still looms large with music fans.
Poor Freddy. I’m in tears. What a powerful song as I turn 58 this week. ❤
60 today. Enjoy your youth, lol :)
That's barely an adult. Besides, I think fifties are what the thirties were in the '80s. lol
@@jpeopolis I needed to hear that!😊

@@petercourtien4581 No prob! Here's hoping present day thirties are what twenty-somethings were in years past. I'm still just a child! haha
This was the last music video in which Freddie appeared in person.
And slightly mad was the last one they where together for the video , in Days of our lives video , Brians part where later added in (he did promotions for Innuendo that day (in America ), and coulnt make it in time also a few days before this shoot , Freddie did sing the verses of Motherlove
Freddie was so sick here 😢 He was such a god damn force, we're all so lucky we get to hear his voice. ❤❤
"I still love you" - breaks me every single time.
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "You’re My Best Friend" !!
Not to forget John Deaky Deacon on bass :)
@@spamvicious Can't ever forget Deaky!
Tears here. So sick, the guys at times had to hold him up. A true gift of a human being. ❤❤
This always bring me to tears, his waistcoat was handpainted pictures of his beloved cats
So true. Warren Zevon did it too with his final album The Wind. The last song, Keep Me In Your Heart was his farewell.
@@KenRoerden Love Warren Zevon. I grew up outside of Phila when Zevon, the Hooters, Robert Hazard, Alan Mann, The A's and so many other great Phila bands (Beru Revue) were out.
There’s a behind the scenes video out there of this. You could tell he was physically struggling; what a gift he gave us with this performance. I love it. ❤
He could barely stand when they recorded that video...
Knowing his situation amplifies this song by 1000. It’s gorgeous, so was his music, so was he.
Im a grown man of 55,and this still cuts me down and wipe a tear.when you look at your partner or family, this must get each person in one way or another. 🇬🇧 x
His last video- very shortly before he passed. His love song to all of us.
We still love you Freddie ❤
This is such a hard video to watch. Freddie was ill and frail and somehow STILL delivered. Greatest Frontman ever.
#FACT
💯
I always considered this video Freddie's official goodbye to his fans. It's always very emotional to watch especially when he says "I still love you" at the end and seems to be talking directly to his fans. His vocal performance at a time when he was so ill is astounding. Amazing.
This was his last album and all of the songs hit the heart. He was so sick with AIDS at this point and he's still singing about love, hope, and basically to enjoy the time you have. The lyric "sit back and enjoy it through your kids" really hits me square in the feels as a father of three.
Each member of Queen wrote a number one HIT. I don't think any other band can claim that!
He had part of his foot amputated by this point. Literally falling apart and giving his all to us. The greatest showman of all time.
It's like the lyrics to “Somebody to Love”, which Freddie wrote decades before he got sick.
‘Each morning I get up I die a little
Can barely stand on my feet
Take a look in the mirror and cry
Lord, what you're doing to me?’
He was so brave and professional to give his fans what he had left to give.
Freddy it's hard to watch you so close to the end, your music will keep you alive forever. Love you ❤
Listen to Mother Love.
It actually wasnt long after this music video had been completed as the last studio work freddie did was in July of 1991.
I've just commented the same thing. So heartbreaking. If you didn't know any better, you would never think he only had weeks/days to live. 😢
Such a beautiful and reminiscent song.. nostalgic, Queen were truly Phenomenal! ABsolute Legends. Freddie Mercury was a truly phenomenal talent - there'll never be anybody that can match him!!
Freddie's final goodbye. Makes me cry every time still.
He was a shell of once he was during this video but his voice never failed him through pain
Freddie-singer
Brian May-Guitar
John Deacon- bass
Roger Taylor- Drums
Thank you
I don't think you realised how sick he was here. The poor guy could hardly stand but he had the courage to make one final video. They all knew it. Such an emotional video
At that time we were hearing a lot of rumors about Freddie's health, but when this video came out it was clear he didn't have long.
And he tells us all goodbye and I love you to his fans. RIP to the best front man . And Brian was in the USA when they did the video and he come back and added his guitar .
Brian May’s guitar evokes such emotion!
Such an incredibly talented man and such a loss to the world💔He was a showman to the end.
Freddie Mercurys last mouthed words on camera are in this music video to his fans ate the very end "I still love you"
Bittersweet when I saw this on my feed. ❤️
So sadly sweet, this video makes me cry every time i watch it. He was so ill, yet he left us this sweetness ..how i miss you Freddie
Freddie's theatrical performance here was amazing, especially in view of the fact that he was so weak that he never left the spot he was standing on.
This video always hits my heart deeply and the one he did with the Opera, tears always flow !😍
[ I always feel you are someone with highly developed emotional intelligence and can imagine what an especially lovely Mummy you must be for your children to grow up with 💞 ]
Thank you so much for the reaction! It was perfect. This song is so so beautiful! I'm glad you liked it. 😊
It is a sad and beautiful song, with Freddie sharing his soul.

It was Freddie good bye to us all queen fans r.i.p
You never knew what you'd get with a new Queen song but you always knew it would be good!!!!
I have always thought he was singing about himself with "I Want to Live Forever".
Wembley Stadium 92???
this makes me cry every time...that last good bye at the end when he says I love you...its as though he is saying it to every one of us, his fans
He is arguably the best front man in rock.
Not even arguable IMHO.
Thank you for honoring one of my favorites today.
