Hey, just an FYI/clarification on that "just one take": Fred didn't actually do the WHOLE song in one take (I know, most people think that he did, based on Brian's story in an interview). The story Brian shared was regarding the section of the song near the end that's full of REALLY HIGH notes... Brian was afraid the high notes would hurt Fred's throat. Fred replied "I'll F_____g do it, Darling!" ...He downed some vodka, and sang that really high section all-in-one-go.😇

7:00 - Scientists actually did a study a few years ago, looking at Freddie's voice and what made it so iconic and unique that so many people consider him one of the greatest singers ever. There's more to it than this, but the general reason is that Freddie's voice always retained a baritone vocal quality, even when singing near the top of his range. Freddie had a wide vocal range that went from low baritone all the way up to high tenor. That isn't all *_that_* uncommon in and of itself; many talented singers have ranges that are equally big or even bigger. It sucks how many Queen reactions get blocked by TH-cam. Freddie would have loved watching people experience the band’s performances this many years later.
One of Freddie Mercury’s last gifts to the world was Queen’s “The Show Must Go On.” Written by Brian May in 1991, the song was the final track on Queen’s Innuendo. May feared his bandmate would be too ill to record the vocals, but Mercury downed a shot of vodka and declared, “I’ll f***ing do it, Darling.” It took him only one take. Legend.
@@RoverWaters its possible for vocals to be one take vocals are recorded seperate the band so could def be belted out once and touched up a little but i do think the story is made up/exagerated
The last video he did was "These are the Days of our Lives". He was barely able to stand and is horribly thin and fragile looking, but his voice is still magnificent. His final song was Mother Love, but he was only able to record the first verse before he died; Brian May finished recording the second half of the song.
Just a supernatural experience with Queen, Phenomenal masters of their art. This song always makes me cry, thinking of such a huge loss to the world. Legend...R.I.P. Freddie...Thanx so much, Many Blessings

This was one of Queen's handful of final songs with Freddie. He was dying from AIDS and fading pretty fast and he still delivered this epic performance. There will never be another showman, singer, and human being like Freddie Mercury. He made sure the show went on here and recorded words so the show would go on after he was gone. Music today has no equal or music in any time period has no equal to Freddie. Great reaction here!

@@DWtechfan interesting fact about "Mother love" it was Freddie's final song, he did the vocals for , he was so ill , that he had to leave , "Mother love" is the last song he sang on for Queen. Mercury recorded two out of three verses before becoming too sickly to continue recording, so Brain May recorded the final verse himself later
Hi Jay & Amber. A suggestion to watch is their 15 min at Live Aid. They'd been off touring for a few yrs at the time & with that appearance, which was when the band knew of Freddie's condition, they showed why they were QUEEN! Many critics consider it the best rock performance of all time, which given the many great artists of rock, is saying something. If you could, add that to a future watch. Thanks
The band absolutely did NOT know of Freddie's illness at the time of Live Aid. Freddie *may* have suspected that something was wrong, but Live Aid took place in 1985 and his diagnosis wasn't until 1987. Another reason why people should not get their facts from a made to appeal to the masses Hollywood movie instead of doing their own research.
Queen had just come back from a tour in South Africa and South America right before Live Aid ( _The Works Tour_ ). They admit that part of why they did so well at Live Aid was _because_ they had just done huge stadiums in S. Africa and S. America. And @JollyJiraffe is correct, they did not know Freddie's HIV status yet... Freddie didn't either.
PLEASE stop spreading lies about Freddie and the boys. Where did you get these FACTS from?! They had just returned from touring, there had not been any break of them working together. The diagnosis had not been until '87 when Freddie detected a spot on his skin. Just tell the truth and quit these fairytales already!
This is one of my favourite Queen songs. Freddie was one of a kind. Thanks for reacting to this amazing song. Much love and I hope you guys had a lovely Christmas.
You still haven’t witnessed what many believe to be the greatest performance of all time. Watch Queen’s Live Aid performance, the entire 20 minutes. It will not disappoint!!!
HEY GUYS, Just a suggestion about your problems with having Queen videos blocked: Avoid the Official Queen Channel... If you do a YT search for ANY Queen/Freddie Mercury song/official music video/live performance, you can find the VERY SAME VIDEO... with remastered/upgraded HIGHER HD/BETTER video quality, posted from OTHER channels, because there are individual Queen fans out there (who are really talented and might remaster videos in their professional lives, IDK) who take the original videos, remaster/upgrade them, and post them on their own individually-owned channels. These videos are usually further down the YT search algorithm results, because they're newer/have lesser views than the originals from Queen's official channel... but they're actually BETTER quality, and they WON'T be blocked.
Never can you go wrong with Queen. One other note I want to add is that I think you all have truly become my favorite reactors. I truly enjoy watching the way you react to different stuff.
Yes, my favourite Queen song/ all time favourite song! This hits so hard when you think of when it was recorded in Freddie life time. The video is made up of clips from earlier Queen music videos! You have 'Break Free' - 'It's a Kind of Magic' 'Miracle' 'Breakthrough' 'Going Slightly Mad' 'One Vision' among others. 'These are the Days' was his last music video and the ending will break your heart!! Thanks for posting this video guys 👦 ❤️
Elton John added this song to his playlist in the 90’s after Freddie passed. They were great friends. One of Freddie’s best performances and definitely one of the most emotional ❤
I absolutely love this song, it's one of my favorites from Queen, and no matter how many times I listen to it, I cry every single time. I am crying typing this. Damn, I miss him. What a special guy.
It's quite incredible, that even though he was in excruciating pain, he delivered quite possibly the strongest vocal performance of his career. This song always gets to me. It's perfect.
This song and 'These are the Days of Our Lives' always gives me goosebumps. The combination of lyrics, music and knowing how ill Freddie was, and how little time he had left always gets me. They're wonderful songs from the band!
"I'll face it with a grin, I'm never giving in, On with the show." That verse was as powerful as anything he ever did, especially considering the circumstances. R.I.P. Freddie.
Brian May said when it came to record the song that he was concerned that Freddie Mercury couldn't manage the vocals as he was sick. When he mentioned this to him, Freddie Mercury took a shot of vodka and said, "I'll fucking do it, darling" and lacerated the vocals. Also, Freddie Mercury did the song in one take. Basically, Freddie Mercury sings from his soul. His voice is powerful and elicits emotion no matter the song.
Queen wrote and recorded this towards the end of Freddie’s life! Knowing now what he was facing this song is super poignant! Celine Dion recorded a version of this after her husband died w/ Lindsay Sterling on violin! A beautiful version! This is one of my favorite songs!
I like how Queen dealt with the fact Freddie was not well enough to film a video for this song, by putting a montage of their different videos together and it actually became a very symbolic video as it showcased Freddie’s journey
While it's a rocking song, it is also so very emotional. It's such a beautiful song. There is power, pleading, pain, and purpose in this song. It's an anthem for never giving up, but it also leaves you with an inherent recognition of how little time Freddie had. The band also pulled out all the stops and filled the song with equal passion, power and celebration of their own music and of Freddie's genius.
In addition to being a great song, I love that this video pays tribute to some of the many movies that Queen did the soundtrack for. I forever love Highlander, where Queen busted out the masterpiece WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER. They also did Flash Gordon, forgettable movie but Queen's music rules. And they put the Rock into Disco movie Saturday Night Fever. Freddie RIP.
He...means....what is life all about...even if it all does not make sense....life...still goes on....the show must go on..no matter..what..??..his voice is so emotional and meaningful...
Guitarist Brian May wrote this while lead singer Freddie Mercury was dying of AIDS. It was Mercury's last official album with Queen, and when it was released, very few people knew he had the disease. The lyrics are about the need to press on and make the most out of life while you can still enjoy it. It is inevitably a comment on Mercury's worsening condition, and his attitude towards life - May noted his incredible courage in the Days of our Lives documentary. "He never moaned, he never said 'my life is s--t, this is terrible, I hate it,'" said May. "He had an incredible strength and peace."
I just finished scrolling through the videos you've reacted to, but didn't find Queen at Live Aid 1985!! That is one of the most magnificent performances in rock history! If you've reacted to it and I just missed it, I apologize. If not, PLEASE put it at the top of your list, I promise you won't be disappointed!!
You really need to watch the film with Rami Malek who plays Freddie Mercury called Bohemian Rhapsody. This will give a terrific insight into Freddie and how Queen became the greatest band in history. Well worth a watch and of course you can do a review of it on here! Pleasure to watch and listen to you both. Happy New years to you both and your family.
Freddie hit notes, and sang lyrics, even during a late stage of HIV in ways nobody on this earth ever could…. This song is amazing, and he was going through hell physically, more than mentally at all, recording the last songs of his life in the last year (1990-1991) of his life
This song was released as a single from the Innuendo album on October 14, 1991. Freddie Mercury died November 24, 1991. Freddie was so sick when they recorded this song that guitarist Brian May, who did most of the writing on this song, doubted he could sing it. He told Brian, "I'll fucking do it," put down his glass of vodka, and went in the studio and flat out nailed it.
If you have not seen queens performance at live aid. It was his last show before he died. You seen the command of the crowd he has and his love to perform. It is a must watch!!
Farrokh was a genius. He could vision how a song should be presented lived before he would see how it would look on a video. His command of a stage was epic. Never be another like him.
It was Freddie's choice not to be Farrokh anymore. Even back in the days when he was in The Hectics at boarding school he was Freddie. Freddie was the musician.
I absolutely adore this song. It always gets me in the Feels knowing how much pain he was in and how much of it he endured to belt this out and get it recorded and you can just feel it all. Looking at Amber there at the end I could see in her eyes she was feeling it too! Powerful stuff. The other tearjerker from this album is The Days of Our Lives, written as a goodbye to all his fans, knowing he wasn't going to live much longer. 😭 It's a crime that Freddie had to leave this world when he did, how he did. This video is made up of many of their other music vids and as you can see you have a lot of songs to go! I Want To Break Free, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, Invisible Man, I Want It All, Hammer to Fall, One Vision, the Miracle, etc etc etc. If you ever do Who Wants To Live Forever, please make sure you get the extended cut, not the radio edit, there is some real beauty at the end that gets cut in the short version for no good reason.
Freddie didn't write These Are The Days Of Our Lives. Roger did the majority (the entire band is credited, per usual) about his family but due to the circumstances, it became Freddie's goodbye.
Of all of Queen's fantastic music, this song displays the best of Freddie's voice. Yes, you heard the studio version here but just listen to his voice, his range, and his tonal accuracy. I feel this song by far is Freddie's best vocal performance. And the more you listen to the song, the more astonished you become by his voice.
What a great, amazing song, from a bittersweet album as Freddie was ill. But what a performance! Taking something from happier days, early in their career, how about Liar, Ogre Battle or Brighton Rock? Tremendous band, the legend continues. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Just as a side note: when Jay and Amber pause the video, the image they stop on, the rings around the woman's head, this is a clip from Fritz Lang's masterpiece movie "Metropolis", made in 1927 and is considered a science fiction masterpiece. The original masters were cut into pieces and parts of the movie subsequently lost, but as footage has been found the movie can now be bought largely complete. How sad it is to think of Freddie's final months, sick and growing weaker as he knew he wasn't long on this earth anymore. But I like to think that he and his bandmates gave the gift of music to so many millions. He lived an incredible life, one that few will ever know. Freddie Mercury aka Farrokh Bulsara, Rest in Peace.
No joke. Yesterday while brushing my teeth I wasn't thinking: When will Queen come on this channel again, no, I was thinking: Tomorrow the Rob Squad will do Queen! And yes. It turns out so! Very weird. You couldn't have picked a better song in my opinion! Freddie has pulled out all the stops to make Show Must Go On sound so powerful. Incredible! But the whole song is just perfection 👌🏻 “Who Wants To Live Forever” has the same power. And if you like theatrical, that’s ⬆️ it.
I was a HUGE Queen fan, and when I heard of Freddie's diagnoses and his passing within hours of him acknowledging that he had AIDS, I felt like I had lost a close friend or an admired/loved family member. My oldest son got his love of Queen from me, so, years later when he was killed instantly in a workplace accident, I had 3 Queen songs (as well as a few other artist's we both liked) played at his funeral. They were this one (which one of his cousins insisted upon) and the two I knew he loved: "My Bijou" and "Who Wants to Live Forever". Both were from their very last album together, "Innuendo". For me, that album was just a masterpiece, made even more so because Freddie was SO sick and yet he struggled to perform as he did when he was young and healthy. I'm so happy that some of the younger generations are becoming more and more aware of Queen and Freddie.
This song is why I have "I'll fu____g do it, darling!" tattooed on my arm. If Freddie, so soon before his death, could give us /this/ masterpiece, what could I be able to do if I just didn't give up?
This song is very telling of what Freddie was thinking and feeling. He knew he was running out of time and was still able to unleash insane vocals for the "Innuendo" album (plus any other songs that were finished posthumously).
Before you go much further the two of you should definitely check out "White Queen" at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 for an EPIC live Queen performance! Cheers,

May feared his bandmate would be too ill to record the vocals, but Mercury downed a shot of vodka and declared, “I’ll f***ing do it, Darling.” It took him only one take.
Legend.
no
it was not one take
thats not how songs a re recorded 😂😂
True, except the song was recorded in 1990, when it probably also was written
@@RoverWaters its possible for vocals to be one take
vocals are recorded seperate the band so could def be belted out once and touched up a little
but i do think the story is made up/exagerated
I love how this compilation of past music videos goes perfect with the lyrics of this song.
This album..,.. 'Inuendo'...has so many incredible songs its like a greatest hits all in one album.... The Show must go on.... the title track and many more will leave you in tears once you know the story...
Yeah it's a masterclass. It's like Freddie knew he was gonna die so gave his fans some of the very best he could produce at the time. Chills & heartbreaking.
Also, These Are the Days of Our Lives is Freddie’s last video performance. It’s his final gift to all of us and it’s spectacular. You must put it on your list. It will give you all the feels.
But need to watch til the end, it's that last bit.
@Deanne Beech 100% it's that last thing he says that really gets you!
4:38 I always gets goosebumps when I see that helicopter view of the Queen's fans together for a live concert ! Historical !
Thank you I'm glad you're finally doing this song. The video was made after Freddie Mercury died
You are so right! I cry every time I hear this song and Those were the days of our lives. Irreplaceable!
@@MarlaLynnS1 it's sad to listen to this song, "These Are The Days Of Our Lives", and "Mother Love". Those are synonymous with Freddie's goodbyes to the fans and the band itself too. There will never be another epic band like Queen and never another performer like Freddie Mercury. He still loves us and we still love him!
This song gets to me every time. Every single time.
@@jollyjiraffe382 Well said. That film was nothing but fiction.
@@jollyjiraffe382 that's nonsense. They toured massively in 1984. I saw them at Wembley three times in September 84
Perfect song to end the year. Freddie's show still goes on and on.
A fabulous song that always make me sad knowing the circumstances surrounding it.
So beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time 😢
"Who Wants To Live Forever", "Save Me", and "Sail Away Sweet Sister" are awesome by Queen
And all written by Sir Dr. Brian May.
All right my babies.... This band is so beyond talented.... I can't even think of a word that describes their greatness ‼️🔥💯🔥🎼🎶☺️👍🏼
HEY GUYS,
Just a suggestion about your problems with having Queen videos blocked:
Avoid the Official Queen Channel...
This song is just gut wrenching....
One of my favorites
Wow, musical literature. 😱🌍
Never can you go wrong with Queen. One other note I want to add is that I think you all have truly become my favorite reactors. I truly enjoy watching the way you react to different stuff.
I love Queen so much !! Thank you for your reaction!!
He performed it at Freddie's tribute concert.
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu I actually prefer that version.
I absolutely love this song, it's one of my favorites from Queen, and no matter how many times I listen to it, I cry every single time. I am crying typing this. Damn, I miss him. What a special guy.
Love Freddie Mercury and Queen
We All miss you Freddie Mercury 💔 You live in Our hearts Forever!!
It's quite incredible, that even though he was in excruciating pain, he delivered quite possibly the strongest vocal performance of his career. This song always gets to me. It's perfect.
It's simple, you can never go wrong with Freddie.
This song was recorded when Freddie was really ill and released in October 1991, just a few weeks before he died
The album was released in February, 1991.
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu the song was released in October
this song is such the groove..it builds an atmosphere around the melodies structure. top shelf upper level song.
Really need to watch the video "These are the days of our lives" it was his last video and his way of saying good bye to his fans.
This song always brings a tear to my eye.
God bless you FREDDIE!
This song and 'These are the Days of Our Lives' always gives me goosebumps. The combination of lyrics, music and knowing how ill Freddie was, and how little time he had left always gets me. They're wonderful songs from the band!
"I'll face it with a grin,
I'm never giving in,
On with the show."
That verse was as powerful as anything he ever did, especially considering the circumstances. R.I.P.
My favorite No1 Queen song
Queen wrote and recorded this towards the end of Freddie’s life! Knowing now what he was facing this song is super poignant! Celine Dion recorded a version of this after her husband died w/ Lindsay Sterling on violin! A beautiful version! This is one of my favorite songs!
Knowing the story about this song, it just brings chills.
You should react to Queen's "No One But You", the band's farewell to Freddie. Makes me cry every time, but it's such a beautiful song!
I can’t think of enough words for this band and Freddie! You are so so missed Freddie!!
It's such an amazing performance from a man who knew he didn't have long to live. Beautiful. Heartbreaking.
Two of my favorites of Queen are the combo of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions played together.
The Champions on Ice tour in the late 90s always ended their show with that combo. It was great, everyone stopping to the beat!
This is a masterpiece, so so good. And i'm glad they used it 'Moulin Rouge!' (2001) which I highly recommend you guys watch x
Freddie was and always will be the greatest frontman and singer IMO. I wish I had see Queen live in their prime.
Freddie was dying when he recorded this. The last note he hits is amazing and brings tears to my eyes
This song literally saved my life. I was in the deepest and darkest place any person could be. It is forever etched into my soul!
Freddie hit notes, and sang lyrics, even during a late stage of HIV in ways nobody on this earth ever could…. This song is amazing, and he was going through hell physically, more than mentally at all, recording the last songs of his life in the last year (1990-1991) of his life
Still miss Freddie to this day 🥲 The ultimate performer ! Excellent track as always with Queen 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
This song is one of the best rock songs ever for me, it gets me every time and makes me happy and sad at the same time.
THE WORLDS GREATEST PERFORMER!! THERE IS NOBODY WHO COULD DO IT LIKE FREDDIE...NUFF SAID!!
Freddie was simply the best…
This song was released as a single from the Innuendo album on October 14, 1991. Freddie Mercury died November 24, 1991. Freddie was so sick when they recorded this song that guitarist Brian May, who did most of the writing on this song, doubted he could sing it. He told Brian, "I'll fucking do it," put down his glass of vodka, and went in the studio and flat out nailed it.
Thank you for my Freddie fix. He just makes me happy.
Who is farrokh?
@@markcornish2519 FM’s given name at birth
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "You’re My Best Friend" !!
What a great, amazing song, from a bittersweet album as Freddie was ill. But what a performance! Taking something from happier days, early in their career, how about Liar, Ogre Battle or Brighton Rock? Tremendous band, the legend continues. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
They will love Brighton Rock. Who doesn’t? It rocks! 🤘🏻
I truly feel sorry for the younger generation not experiencing Queen back in their time. It's so nice to see you enjoying them❤
This song is why I have "I'll fu____g do it, darling!" tattooed on my arm.
Brian wrote this
I always assumed Freddie wrote it for the band & fans but it was Brian who this masterpiece.
And Days Of Our Lives was Roger.
Before you go much further the two of you should definitely check out "White Queen" at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 for an EPIC live Queen performance! Cheers,
