I'm a 50 years old Queen fan and also a metalhead, but whenever I watch this music video I couldn't help but shed a tear. RIP, Freddie Mercury. Gone too soon.
Freddie passed away 33 years ago tomorrow (24th November 91) this video was recorded in the May of that year. I cried like that 33 years ago when I first saw it. Freddie loved his cats, find the song "Delilah" about one of his cats. Much love from England 🏴
One of my favourite quotes from Sir Terry Pratchett's books is "No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away." Freddie's music will keep his ripples travelling for eternity. Sleep tight Fred, we still love you.
Freddie Mercury was so sick, but still sang his heart out! This was his last video, his goodbye. Also, there's a reason they filmed this in black and white. Watch the color footage and you can see how sick Freddie was. NONE of the bandmates are smiling in this. They KNEW, but the most heartbreaking thing? As sick and in pain as he was, Freddie's smile at that last "I still love you". That's Freddie saying "I know, loves, but life goes on. Be your best selves".
John IS in the video along with Roger and Freddie. Brian is there too but he wasn't present when the video was recorded. Brian was in the US promoting their last album Innuendo and because of Freddie's illness they couldn't wait for him to return, so John and Roger shot the video with Freddie. Brian's part was shot later and carefully added to it. You really can't see that especially on your first time watching it. Because Freddie's frail appearance it was made in black and white but even that can't really mask how frail Freddie was. But he insisted to appear because he knew it was the last time he will stand in front of the camera and he wanted to say goodbye to his fans. 😢 "I still love you." 💔 Freddie, dear, we still love you and we always will.
As a Queen fan who actually attended 6 live Queen concerts in the 1970-80s this is still heartbreaking to watch,Freddie’s very last vocal song called ( Mother Love) he was to ill to finish the last verse so Brian May completed it,but Freddie’s vocals in the first verse are amazing, check out Mother Love! Great reaction thanks 🙏
Fun fact: This song was written by the drummer Roger Taylor and it was meant to be about his kids and family, but Freddie gave it additional depth that made it so much better. Freddie left this world on his own terms, the last few years of his life him and the rest of the band were very prolific knowing that he didn't have much time left. The album "Innuendo" from 1991 was their last recorded together, and the "Made in Heaven" from 1995 was pretty much band putting instrumental tracks on pre-recorded vocals of Freddie. I strongly recomend "Who wants to live forever", "Innuendo" and "Mother's Love" (The actual last song that he ever sung, halfway through he put down the mike because he was exhausted that day and he never finished it).
Every single time I listen to this song I cry... not only because of Freddie (RIP), but also because it makes me think of my father who I lost in 2020 due to illness (he suffered Parkinson's for nearly 20 years). RIP Papá, love you forever. ❤
I was 23 years old when Freddie passed in 1991. I heard the news on the radio that day and it was a huge shock, as his illness had been kept secret. I’m almost 57 years old now and I still mourn Freddie’s loss. Queen’s music was the soundtrack of my youth and still a big part of my life… Thank you for appreciating it, Stacey ❤
John Deacon was there. The way he was playing the bass was reminding me how good the whole band was, a true supergroup. Roger actually wrote this song for his newborn son, but knowing of Freddie’s illness, it evolved and he has said Freddie made it his own and his true good-bye. Roger now sings it in the few concerts they now do, with Adam Lambert as the lead singer.
'Sweet Mother Love' was his last recording and he was so ill that he had to leave before recording the last verse. He never returned and Brian sang the last verse so that they could release the song. RIP Freddie, you are always with us.
The greatest lead singer of any band, any genre, ever. Had everything, fantastic voice that could sing anything, fantastic charisma and stage presence, nobody better. Please watch The Show must Go On.
This was his goodbye song to fans that he but in the message "I still love you". I always cry when I hear the song. Thanks for playing this beautiful song!
This was the last video that Freddie recorded due to his state of health. It is said that the moment he looks at the camera and says "I still love you" he was saying goodbye. Whenever I see it I get goosebumps
I'm 55 years old and have been a Queen fan since the age of 10. Was lucky to see them live 3 times. When I watch this video it still makes me feel sad. Love watching your reactions. John Deacon was in the video, Brian filmed his section separately as he was on tour. You are right this was Freddie saying goodbye to his fans
Hi Stacey. I hope you are well. Im a lifelong Queen fan. I first went to a Queen concert in 1974 an not missed a tour since then. Over 50 shows in all. The last tour both Wembley and Knebworth Park. This song breaks my heart. If you ask any Queen fan, at the end when Freddie looks into the camera and says "I still love you." every fan will say that Freddie is saying it to them - personally 😢 I cannot watch this without tearing up. Thank you for another brilliant reaction Stacy. I love your videos. Please, more Queen ❤❤❤
I was 13 when Freddie passed, some five years and two days before my other childhood hero, my dear old Dad... Queen was my dad's favourite band, they are still mine... So many memories attached to this video, and this amazing back catalogue,
Freddie was in the studio making thier what would be final record w/ Freddie."Made In Heaven" 1995.He kept asking them to write more lines. His last song was Mother Love.Guitarist Brian May sang the last verse.Right after Freddie passed. Another heart wrenching song & video is No One But You (Only the Good Die Young) The surviving members Brian May & drummer Roger Taylor .If you can watch that one.Still a tear jerker though
Tomorrow marks 33 years since Freddie has been no longer with us... This song is about childhood, when we are young and beautiful, the days were endless, first love, old and new friends. When we grew up, we rarely smiled, rarely had fun. Thank you Stacey! With love from Russia!🇷🇺
I'm 50 and Freddie Mercury and Neil Peart are the two rock deahhs that hurt my soul the most. Queen and Rush mean so much to me and i am so thankful the music is there to carry on forever.
I'm in my late 50's and I totally feel the same way. For me, being a dutchman and a fan, the death of Herman Brood in 2001 really hit me. I remember hearing it and immediately I started crying. To this day I listen to at least one of his songs every day.
Freddie is the most courageous man I have ever known in my long live. He filmed the last scene twice. I am glad that Rudi put a filter over the video, Brian said it took hours to put on his make-up.- I have a huge picture when you first enter my house and I look at him and am reminded that all my worries are minimal, he gives me strength. And yes: We still love you ❣
A very heartfelt song written by Roger Taylor (drums) of Queen... Apparently, it was written to Freddie Mercury, knowing he was ill and would be gone soon... Roger and Freddie knew each other before Queen got together and said he was feeling melancholy and wanted to write something positive about the present. Roger Taylor sang 'These are the days of our lives' ... recently on tour w/ his son Rufus Taylor playing the drums. John Deacon (bass) was in the music video. He was playing bass...
Don't be sad that Freddie is no longer with us, just be happy we can still remember the phenomenal music he and the rest of Queen gave to the world. Freddie passed away the day I was due to start work for the first time, it hit me real hard. Freddie is gone and will be greatly missed but never forgotten and thanks to TH-cam, younger people like yourself can enjoy and react to their awesome music. There's plenty more of Queen for you to enjoy Stacey.
Dear Stacey, just looking at how Freddie was like before getting sick and his final videos is heartbreaking. From a man full of life to a shadow of his former self. How he managed to find the strength (both physically and mentally) to keep pushing barriers and performing is beyond my understanding. Thank you for your very heartfelt reaction to the best ever frontman who stepped on a stage.
The video was done in May 91, he passed 6 months later in November 91. He did the very last I still love you, looking straight into the camera, knowing that was the last time people would see him on camera The cat waist coat was made specially for him and are the cats he owns, the main one on the front is Delilah, his favourite. Also wrote a song about her for Queen of the same name. Maybe you should react to it. I find it rather funnya
One thing that amazed me was Queen’s performance at the 2012 London Olympic Games closing ceremony. It featured a “hologram” of Freddy taken from the 1986 Wembley stadium concert. Even from the grave he had the audience in the palm of his hand.
😢Can't help tearing up it's a long time now since i listened to this, it also takes me back when me and my sisters lost our dear Mum 😢. The reason they filmed in black and white was to help minimise how frail Freddie was at the time of recording to help reduce the shock to fans when watching the video. But when the video came out of the making of these are the days of our lives in colour it really shows how ill and frail Freddie really was. R. I. P.
Another wonderful Queen review Stacey. Happy Freddie Day for tomorrow. It’s 33 years ago tomorrow (24/11/91) since we lost Freddie. He’s gone from this world, but will never ever be forgotten. Legends never die. R.I.P. FREDDIE ❤
Hi Stacey. In 20 days I'll be 59. Queen was one of the bands that accompanied me during my adolescence. Every time I watch this video I can't help but shed a tear. It takes me back to those days when, even if we denied it, we knew Freddy was leaving us. I send you a kiss. Claudio, from Córdoba, Argentina.
I was 14 when I bought my first ever single, Bohemian Rhapsody. I would kick it out from my bedroom window across the park for the world to hear. Obviously, it has been carved into my mind for my entire life. It was my first ever single ... I watch lots of streamers reacting to British music. You are top of the list, lady. I love your passion for music, I also love your facial expressions, your emotions, and let's not forget your beauty. You've just made a grown man cry ... again ! Btw, my first ever album ? Elton John, Captain Fantastic and the Dirt Brown Cowboy, now that's a title !!!
This was the final footage filmed of Freddie. Not long after this, the band held a party to celebrate their twentieth anniversary, and the few pictures snapped of Freddie from that party were the last public photos taken of him. John Deacon is definitely in the video. He's all through it. He's to the right of Freddie, sitting on a stool, playing his bass.
Freddie recorded songs right up to the day before he passed. the last song was Mother Love, which he didn't actually complete. He felt ill so went home and unfortunately didn't return. John Deacon was sitting on the stool next to Freddie.
Thank you for this video, a day before Freddie's anniversary. Every year on November 24th, I listen to the entire Innuendo album.😢 Greetings from Germany
Being a massive Queen fan from around 74 through to the day Freddie died, it took me about 3 years before I could watch this Video without the eyes welling up and a lump in the throat, the music industry lost a great man and has never been the same without him.
4:31 And Stacy.. on the Innuendo album, where this comes from did Freddie write a song for his cats.. Delilah ( one name for all his cats, for songwriting purposes) .. Brain May even mimics cat s by meowing the guitarsolo on his guitar, yes it sounds insane, and that is what he went to be aswell.. in I'm Going Slightly Mad.. The album is his inner self reflecting on the inevitable faith, and he embraced it
Thank you for comments, i have listened to queen for past 30 years. This reaction is pricleess and timeless. I felt exact same when Freddie passen away. But the music stays on and it feels good that youger generations keep on listening to queen. Not only computer generated bs.
I'm nearly 62, first saw Queen with Freddie age 18, then a few more times, I remember how sad I was seeing this on release. Still sad today. Brian needs more credit for those sad notes he played. But all these years later what cheers me up is the legacy he left us of all the music he made.
This is a really heavy song for true Freddie fans even now. He died on my 16th birthday, I had no idea who he was back then. I'm 49 today and I still tear up
This was one of two videos that Queen shot in black and white. Their previous video was for “I’m Going Slightly Mad”. In both videos, Freddie wore heavy makeup as an attempt to hide the fact that he was ill at the time. I think the reason they chose to do this song for a video was because of how Freddie says “I still love you” at the end of the song. For this video, it really was bittersweet. This would be Freddie’s final video appearance with the band. After filming this video, he worked on music that would appear on the Made in Heaven album in 1995.
One of the hardest things in life is watching the ones we love wither away from Illnesses, we all miss you Freddie, miss you Brian my brother Oct.7/2019❤
The song was written by Roger about his life and his family but the song took on a whole new meaning when Freddie became terimally ill and the lyrics took on the life of his last goodbye.....quite fitting i think.
Thank you Stacey for a Beautiful reaction to These are the days of our lives sung BEAUTIFULLY by Freddie Mercury with the support we Brian, Roger and John. TRULY MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN ❤. Looking forward to your next reaction video Stacey.
The Show Must Go On is a MUST watch! There is no LIVE version, as he was too sick. But the "live" fan edit is pretty good. I prefer the official video, though, as it shows Freddie throughout his career. Brian wrote the song for Freddie, and was afraid it would be too difficult for him to perform in his state at the time. But Freddie took a shot of vodka, and said "I'll fucking do it!" He never turned down a challenge, he always had an optimistic mind, and he would do ANYTHING to give his fans his very best, until the very end.
Freddie's performance in these recording sessions was truly a Herculean effort. If I recall correctly, his bandmates had serious concerns he couldn't hold up. He used it as a challenge, which was consistent with his entire life.
I knew you were gonna react to this song, seeing as several people I saw in the comments of previous videos requested it. I love this song despite the sad undertone. I’ve been watching your videos reacting to Queen songs, and I’ve enjoyed them, especially the live aid performance. I knew this song was gonna hit hard for you, but I’m glad you reacted to it. I hope you’re having yourself a lovely day. Definitely am glad to have been enjoying your reactions to Queen lately ❤ Also, John was in the video. If I remember correctly, Freddie, Roger and John were present to record most of the shots in the music video, but Brian at the time was busy with something. But sometime later (a month or so, I can’t recall at the moment), he showed up to record his parts. He was edited in the wide shot of the entire band near the end of the video, which was nice to give a final view of the band members together
The video was filmed on May 30, 1991. It was Freddie Mercury's last filmed performance, as he died on November 24 of that year. Unreleased backstage footage of the shooting of the video appeared in the Days of our Lives documentary, showing Mercury's deteriorating physical condition (extremely skinny and pale) largely covered up by makeup and colorful attire. Brian May speculated in the documentary that Freddie was "saying his goodbye" in that video, knowing that he would likely not be healthy enough to perform anymore. The song was originally written by Roger Taylor about his children, and how parenthood made him look back on his own life. Inevitably, the song took on new meaning when it was announced that Freddie Mercury had AIDS and knew he was going to die soon when he recorded this. Mercury did not tell the public about his disease until shortly before he died. It's highly likely this was also on Taylor's mind when he wrote the lyrics - Mercury told the band and manager Jim Beach about his AIDS diagnosis in 1987, but ordered them to keep it secret. Brian May described it in the Days of our Lives documentary: "We hid everything. I guess we lied! Because we were trying to protect him." Freddie Mercury made sure the band worked on this song despite his illness. He wanted to make music until he was no longer physically capable, and with the band not touring due to Mercury's health, they spent a lot of their time in the studio working. Mercury insisted on the band giving him music and lyrics, and he would continue to record for as long as his health permitted. His bandmates speculated that recording helped Mercury deal with the illness.
When I first heard this song, I was in my early twenties. I recognised it as being very sad and beautiful, but it’s not until now, 30 something years later that the lyrics really mean something to me. The nostalgia hits very hard. And John Deacon was sitting on the stool playing bass the entire time.
I saw a documentary done by members of the band and his friends and they spoke of this song. The said by this time he was so ravaged by the disease that even his clothes on his skin would hurt, so he wore loose fitting clothes and often silk. As sick as he was, the drive to still want to sing and live his life on his terms.... there is a lesson for us all there I think. RIP Fred
It was a heartbreaking time, we saw him get smaller, the illness took its toll and then he was gone, it hurt really bad, just as bad as John got shot, the shock just made you realise how mortal we all are, I thought we would all live forever.....wrong, life shows no mercy.
They also released a version of this video that includes some great animation from Disney studios throughout it. If you look it up on TH-cam type in Queen These are the Days of Our Lives Disney version and you will find it. It’s worth watching!
This was he's last video. "A winter's tale" was the last song he wrote. And "Mother Love" was the last song he sang. In fact the last verse in the song was by Brian, because Freddie past away before the song was done.
You are the most ausome music reactor there is or will ever be. Listening to your voice is so calming , and your way of understanding the meaning after hearing the song just one time? You are a sweetheart
Remember seeing this video when I was 12 years old and just got into Queen’s music. It was so sad but still so inspiring in the terms of no matter how you feel, you shall do your craft till the very end if it helps people. And Queen’s music really did, does and will help. The wonder in it is. Even though I was born four years after Freddie’s passing, I feel sadness, but yet gratitude to Queen. Thank you Stacey for sharing your emotions. It really helps to feel that we are still able to feel and sympathise in the today’s world. Another highly recommended song is ‘The Show Must Go On’, written by Brian to Freddie basically. The final song on the final album. Cheers ❤️
This is a real tough watch. It is goodbye and a goodbye to fans with the "I still love you" at the end. You may notice he did not move his feet, only his arms. He wore layers of clothing to stay warm and to look less thin. John Deacon and Roger filmed with Freddie. Brian shot his part later because he was unavailable and I forget why. Roger actually wrote this about his family but it turned out - as do many Queen songs - to have a very real connection to what was happening with Freddie. Tomorrow is the anniversary of Freddie's death. Impossible to believe he's been gone so long. Yes, still love you Freddie ♥
The way you show the compasion for music and to our dear Freddie is simply perfect, you got youself a new subscriber here ,you are the real deal . Love you forever Freddie
Over the years, many young people have asked me what the 80s were like. I let them know what it was like for me. We had the real possibility of nuclear war, drugs everywhere and AIDS. Yes, the clothes and music were fun but fear was real. Safe sex became no longer just prevention of getting pregnant. How those who contracted AIDS were treated was and is unforgiveable. Losing those you knew and loved personally from it was hard enough. Having people tell you it was God's revenge or they deserved to die is still something that can enrage me today. I lost friends to it. We all lost so many beautiful souls to it.
Freddie, Roger and John Deacon were present at the shooting of the video , while Brian May filmed his segment later in the year, being added in digitally as he was in New York at the time of filming I think. The video was filmed on the 30 May 1991 and Freddie died on the 24 November 1991. I was 13 years old when he went and I can still remember the day like it was yesterday and I always will.
This reaction brought tears into my eyes, I remember early december 2022 when I was alone with my mother at the hospital , cos she didn't have long anymore, for the Last days of her life she was already out of this world, was not awake anymore and havent talked in days. So 2 nights before she passed I played this song and the song face it alone from My phone next To her ear in the hospital bed. Sad just thinking about that evening. She was the one who introduced me into queen when Freddie died and i'v Been a fan Ever since. RIP dear mother and Freddie 😇
It was the last song recorded by Queen (the last three were recorded only after Mercury’s death, who recorded only the vocal part in sessions following those of Innuendo, and will be included in Made in Heaven).
Don't cry because he died'
Smile because He was born..
Perfectly said 😇
for sure, the world would be different, without "bohemian", "we will rock you" and "we are the champions"
I'm a 50 years old Queen fan and also a metalhead, but whenever I watch this music video I couldn't help but shed a tear. RIP, Freddie Mercury. Gone too soon.
Same.

I really love Delilah, such a cute song about Freddie's beloved cat that made him happy when he was dying. Lots of love from Poland 🇵🇱
33 years later and those last words spoken by Freddie are still truly heartbreaking
One of my favourite quotes from Sir Terry Pratchett's books is "No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away." Freddie's music will keep his ripples travelling for eternity. Sleep tight Fred, we still love you.

Who else could write a line like "You peed on my Chippendale suite"? 😁
Mother love is the final song, he knew they would have to finish it without him , the singing is amazing, definitely worth a reaction.
One thing that amazed me was Queen’s performance at the 2012 London Olympic Games closing ceremony. It featured a “hologram” of Freddy taken from the 1986 Wembley stadium concert. Even from the grave he had the audience in the palm of his hand.
We Love all Freddie and Queen ! We Missed him all Queen fans and the rest!! Best Song and Voice to Freddie
R.I.P. FREDDIE ❤
Follow this up with The Show must go on, Queen are just one of the greatest bands ever, no question
Every year on November 24th, I listen to the entire Innuendo album.😢
Greetings from Germany
Oh wow I didn’t know tomorrow was his anniversary… crazy timing
It is a shame what happened to him. He was a phenomenal musician and person. R.I.P. Freddie Mercury.
Yes - John was in the video. Great reaction, Stacey. 😊
Being a massive Queen fan from around 74 through to the day Freddie died, it took me about 3 years before I could watch this Video without the eyes welling up and a lump in the throat, the music industry lost a great man and has never been the same without him.
'Who Wants to Live Forever' and 'Innuendo' are fantastic, too.
There is a video on how this clip was done in which Freddie told the others: «let’s do this, I don’t have too much time… ». What a legend! ❤
The album is his inner self reflecting on the inevitable faith, and he embraced it
Oh noooo its not even started but im crying already knowing your gonna see this and cry ,rest in peace freddie
Yep you did and that sent me off again ,Freddie’s eleganceinn in the face of adversity was supreme , lovely words after Thankyou Stacey
RIP Freddie. Love your reaction to this video. So Genuine.
One of the hardest things in life is watching the ones we love wither away from Illnesses, we all miss you Freddie, miss you Brian my brother Oct.7/2019❤
I cry every time. He was so dedicated until the very end and i wonder what great music we never got to hear.
Well done for playing this i knew you would be emotional but give him great appreciation ❤
Dear Stacey, your tears always make me cry too. I really love your emotional response. 🥰
this song is forever tears but also massive smile for a man in pain but in his element
5:38 Deacon strumming that bass.
Yes. He was standing next to Freddie
He was in so much pain when he did this,he said the show must go on darlings! Grew up with queen,so miss freddie,as usual, this made me cry ❤️
David Bowie's " Lazarus " is another heart breaking video as he was on death's door when making it
This video brings me to tears. What a beautiful vocalist. We still love you too Freddie
A beautiful goodbye from the greatest showman. A very touching reaction.
Definitely am glad to have been enjoying your reactions to Queen lately ❤
Also, John was in the video.
Freddie was born to be a performer. Born to be on stage
Not just how Freddie felt but remember the rest of the band who help make Queen, Queen.
When he made this video, he was in so much pain and not feeling well. He pushed through.
Because we were trying to protect him."
Freddie Mercury made sure the band worked on this song despite his illness.
John was in the video playing bass sitting next to Freddie
Legends, like stars in the night sky, shine forever.
RIP Fred
Ahhh but he is still here with us.... every time we play or listen to the great music of Queen!!!
I’m 54 now and this is EXACTLY my feeling about this era. Great way to say it.
deacon was in the video the bassist who was on the left side of freddie, sitting on the stool
Always grateful to have these precious memories ❤.
Music misses Freddie every single day..very emotional to see him so poorly towards the end..RIP superstar..💙
Appropriately, this was the first song released by Queen after Freddie's passing. And the last before he passed? The Show Must Go On.
Brian was in the US promoting Innuendo...
