Filmed May 91, released on Freddie's 45th birthday 5th September 91, a few weeks before he died. I still love you, were the last words he spoke on camera.
I'm a 62 year old guy who's been a Queen fan for over 50 years. Tears rolled down my face when I first saw this video all those years ago. The song, written by Roger about his family is a fitting tribute for Freddies' final farewell.
It still makes me cry.I actually just did.We love you Freddy, then, now and forever. You may be physically gone but we will not let you and the legacy you left for us ever die.You Freddy, are immortal
It's hard to watch this. I was lucky enough to see Queen in Montreal November 24, 1981. My birthday. He passed November 24, 1991. I light a candle and play "Who wants To Live Forever?' every year. An amazing band I'm so glad I had the privilege of seeing live and feeling his charisma on stage!
@@SassyOcampo If someone told me even 5 years ago, that I would be watching people watching musical videos. I would have told them to get a life as I was heading out the door to garden! And here I am, still love my garden, but now find time. I so enjoy watching people enjoy the music I've loved for years! God bless you!
I like how the last words he recorded on video to his fans was I still love you, He was not moving as much in this video as every movement at this point really hurt him
There is a very moving story to the "I still love you" at the end. When the song was finished Freddie was really really "burned out" everyone was happy to finish that recording, when Freddie said (meaning not word by word) "No, lets do the ending again" the others were like "Why would he put himself in such a stress, it was perfect" BUT Freddie realized, this would be his last ever performence, his last recorded song. So he added the "I still love you" for the Fans
Freddie was such a trooper to the end! We will never contemplate how agonizing it must have been for Brian, Roger and John to see their friend and brother this way! Brian and Roger might have moved forward and live their lives and still tour, but in their own ways they of course miss Freddie dreadfully and I think they still mourn him in a way. When Brian sings love of my life solo on tour, he says "lets do this for Freddie" and almost always brushes away a few tears for him.
Freddie still shows us his humor here & I love that. Roger wrote this song for himself to perform on his own album, but gave it to Freddie as a Queen song. Same lyrics take on a totally different meaning that way for me. There is a "making of " this video. It's in color. It hits home why they filmed in b&w when you see that one.
Such s beautiful song and so sad to see him not jumping around the stage but I’m so happy he felt well enough to do this. And it’s wonderful to see a whole other generation listening and loving Queen. It’s a testament to the greatness of the band. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What a pretty, nice young woman. Hope we can redo some Freddie with her. This song...the feels😥 Some won't watch this video. But I think about what Freddie went thru to do it He wants us to see it!
Me too 😥 and yet I'm so glad he found the strength to do this song. I love that he wore his beloved cats and I feel the strong love of Brian, Roger and John for Freddie. So sad that this was their last video together, but so perfect too.
He past away not much longer after this but he wanted to do it for his fans it was saying goodbye to us all and when he said I still love ❤️ you he was saying it to all his fans and he was in so much pain here he had to be helped on stage I’ve been a Queen fan right from the beginning I’m 67 and this breaks my heart 💔I always cry when I see this he could hardly move for the pain so thank you Freddie we still love ❤️ you 😢from Denise in England 🏴🏴🏴💔👼🙏😘👋XX
Great reaction! So good to see young people being into Queen. Also my 13 year old daughter is a huge Queen fan. Comes after her mother for sure 👍 Yes, sad to see him like this, also there is a making of for this video which is also sad. But on the other hand, why not. Why should he hide instead of saying goodbye.
What a great addition to your reaction Sassy. I have to say that I agree with you. She does seem to be an old sole. Thanks for being a part of the Team Savannah.. Hopefully I spelt it correctly
We love you Freddy. Then,Now and Forever. You may be physically gone but those of us who love you will NEVER,EVER let you die.We carry you in our hearts, souls and Minds. You are a part of us forever.
😭😭😭. Here’s a weird thing, my daughter was into Queen way before me. Don’t know what I was thinking. Have introduced her to a lot of the lesser known gems though. When you get your record player you should play her Bijou if she hasn’t heard it.
When I was 4 years old I would call freddie uncle. I would sing to his music. My dad and grandma were hugh queen fans. When I was a teenager my dad and grandma had to tell me uncle Freddie was gone first time I cried. I wasn't allowed to see uncle freddie like this cause my dad and grandma knew it would be devastating to me. After my grandma passed years later I saw this video and cried for uncle Freddie. R.I.P uncle Freddie forever in my heart 🌹❤ when Freddie was making this video they were afraid he would fall because he was in so much pain. But wanted to make this video for us to tell us he loved us and goodbye. The fact he was able to smile and say i love you was his message to us. And him walking off was his way of saying goodbye 🌹 i tell people uncle Freddie had the voice of an angel 👼
One of thier greatest songs, Roger pulled it out of the bag for Queen on this one. John could not carry on, he tried but said no in the end, God bless him.
This song and video was only released in the UK as the B-side to the re-issued Bohemian Rhapsody for Christmas '91 - a few weeks after his death - so most of us already knew he had passed before seeing this video. Still, it was a shock for me at the time to see how ill he looked here. I was 17 at the time, and back then there had only been a couple of grainy tabloid shots of Freddie in this condition (no internet or smartphones of course!) so few of us knew just what he had gone through. :'(
Hi dear friend, Sassy, it´s me Marcio. I´m crying when i see this dramatic video. Freddie so sick, so thin and pale. This is a marvel and a superb song. These Are The Days Of Your Lives is a redemption of Freddie, a anthen of Queen band. Thank´s. God be with you.
Thankyou for the reaction, Freddie was so brave. I have u hugh respect for him and the guys. Hope to see more Queen reactions with the 2 of you. Keep up the good work, Much bless
The man was at the top of his game right to the end....no one else could've done this video...the image matched the content..you're days are numbered live it till you can't no more ...that's exactly what he did...
This was recorded on the 30th of May 1991 and even with heavy makeup and black and white camera, it was painfully obvious, quite literally that Freddie was dying.
This was Freddie’s good-bye to his fans. It was a sincere effort on his part to complete this video since he was quite sick at this point. His band- mates did everything they could to complete this video because they knew how important it was for Freddie. We miss you Freddie. 💔🙏
I've watched this at least a hundred times and it still makes me cry. Peter Freestone (Freddie’s longtime assistant also known as Phoebe) said it wasn't actually correct that part of Freddie's foot was gone but that it had been damaged as a result of the HIV. Freddie endured a great deal of pain but he never gave up. He occupied his mind with making as much music as possible. I do think he felt somewhat guilty for leaving so soon and worried about his band mates and his fans so he tried to keep making music until he couldn't anymore. In the video “These are the Days of Our Lives” even his clothing caused him pain but he smiled at the camera nonetheless because he wanted us to remember him smiling. He was courage and dignity personified.
Great reaction again! I love to see you and your friend watching Queen ☺️. By the way, I also love her smile so 'One Year of Love' (extended version) is the track you two should (re)react to. She'd love it! Cheers 🥂
Sassy the making of these are the days of our lives will definitely have the tears flowing. John and Roger have tears in their eyes towards the end as they watched their brother struggle to finish the video. I believe that they added Brian later.
Omg Freddy Mercury's last music video before his death 😔😪 This was his last goodbye to his fans. What an extraordinary man and the greatest ever Male vocalist ever. What a legend! He was actually in excruciating pain during the this music video and he fought through this video...the strength and perseverance he had to sing and do this is astonishing. Most Aids victims would be bed ridden. RIP Freddy Mercury
Always feel sorry for John Deacon the death of Freddie hit him so hard it made him give up performing. The story goes that after a performance he turned to the other band mates and said that was it after Freddie passing I might be wrong but it came after elton john performed a version of the show must go on. He just lost the love for it after Freddie past it him them all hard but for John even deeper
He has to take pain killers and vodka to keep him going at this point. AIDS at this point has already ravaged his body. He wanted to give his fans one last goodbye.
I just realized I have done you wrong.I have been watching your videos for months and just now realized I am not a subscriber.I just fixed that issue.Sorry it took me so long
At the end, when he looks at the camera and says "I still love you" he is really telling the world "Goodbye"
"He knew exactly what was going on. He knew that was his last performance, he could barely stand" - Roger Taylor
