Nope This was my first ls build from bare block up and I just lined the marks up during the build Didn’t clay check or nothing and I’ve got 3000 miles on it so far and scoped it last week after a lot of people told me the cam wouldn’t work and to my surprise no valve marks on the pistons at all My limiter is 7k and It’s bounced a few times off it lol
This is great information! I already purchased this cam but was also told it wouldn't work with the piston to valve clearance.... I can't wait to install it! What springs are you running?
It’s not missed a beat yet as far as doing it’s job It’s hard to speed shift the 2-3 at 7k rpm but so far so good I did remove my bump stops in the rear allowing for some suspension and it wheel hoped and busted the g80 diff lol

What is an "SS3" cam? Little new to the GM scene.
It’s Elgin 1841p brand but most people know it as a sloppy stage 3
It’s 238/242 .595” 112lsa spec

Bro I had a 5.3 chop monster cam in mine and it didn’t sound no where near that😭
It’s got a idle tune that helps it a lot
The idle fuel mixture goes lean at 17-19:1afr and timing adds and drops back and forth to make it chop harder
