After the race at 304 motorsports I noticed driving home that at part throttle the motor is running just a touch leaner in one area of the fuel map but I’m hoping it’s a bad wideband sensor from all the banging from the 2step

Is negative pinion angle the best for traction?

On my journey to get a better 60ft out of my ls s10 I keep raising the suspension closer to stock ride height from a lowered 6” setup Each time I go up a inch the pinion angle changes and I have to modify something to keep up After the latest modification my pinion angle was up 4° even with a 2” block 2° shim So I made a set of 2” blocks with a 6° slope to try get the rear pinion closer to 0 an...

I've loved these wheels since WAY back in the day.
Damn that thang is pounding . Love ur truck
I'm so dam slow I didn't understand what you were doing until the third time 😅. Looked like fun trying to get it there😂
@@kingmeshech5527 yea I slept in and it started snowing pretty quick but I knew if I didn’t get the truck into the carport it wasn’t gonna make it later on 😂
LoL'z. Third times a charm

@@JayceJay-Pedro it’s getting there Thank you 🙏🏻
Your gear shift is so close to the steering wheel I had to watch 2 times because I thought you have a 3 on the tree! LOL... Is this a daily driver or a track build?
@@CoroPlanesLLC drag/drive truck eventually
You talking about the first ever drive I had the Silverado shifter and yes it would get into the steering wheel before I cut it down and fixed it 😂
What compression she at ?
@@calebraines2621 it’s stock so 9:1 I believe
The thing that gets me with the T56 is 1st thru 4th its a lot closer of a gear spread like the old Muncie. Right? You know how the old heads geared those... 4.56 and 4.88's in the rear and go clean the streets. With a T56 you can run those and actually live with it. Now why more serious gearheads don't take full advantage perplexes me.
@@CSXT8250 I’m actually running into issues now with 4.11 gear Trucks always spun on launch no matter what I try but with this 2step it’s at least getting to a 2.01 60ft and the draggy shows I have to hit 4th gear now at 600ft when I ran my best 8.02et So of course the better take off all the shift points happen sooner but right now I can run out 3rd gear another 400rpm to 6900rpm if I need to but if I keep going and finally get say a 1.8 60ft I’m stuck having to make a 4th gear shift for nothing Only thing I can think that will help is I’m currently running 26” tires and plan on going to 28” this spring or I may have to go back to 3.73 or something With the 4.11s street driving is awesome with 6th gear getting 22mpg and pulling some decent hills on highway lol
Hey bro got a Q quick?? Will I have to have a stall converter running on my LS 5.3 w/ 706 heads LS6 beehive springs that handles up to .600 Stock Crank Stock Pistons Cast iron Shorty headers w/ Summit stage 2 high lift 551 duration 227 239??

Thank you for the response!! I put in a cam kit and everything came with it besides the trunions. Definitely sounds like rocker tick. Hopefully I can get it figured out soon 😆! Thank you again!!!
@ mine ticked for a year almost because it never got worse and I never could find anything wrong to fix but I bought my original lifters used off fellow racer and it was only thing that I knew for sure wasn’t a quality part because they was claimed ls7 Michigan Motorsports lifters but they all look alike to me lol The btr Delphi lifters have been great though It’s rev 7400rpm plenty of times and still quiet Hope you find out what your tick is because once you hear it you can’t unhear it lol
Thank you! That will be my next step is to get higher quality rockers and pushrods. 😄 🤣
How does your nv3500 let you shift that fast?? Aftermarket clutch or what? Trying to see how to make mine a little quicker, it don’t like my built 6.0
@@Mach_bro it had a luk 4.8 replacement clutch so nothing special It was rather new from a 07 Silverado with 40k miles it’s not fast lol Now for a nv3500 it was decent but the reason I went all in on a t56 was the shift quickness is 2x as fast I gain .30 off my 1/8 mile time with t56 no lift shifting 1st-3rd gears
@@Mach_bro th-cam.com/users/shortsDzuBlHRNzrQ?si=lbfnsKuMnEc3Ds9d This is the past weekend at a no prep track with t56 No way would my nv3500 shift at 6500rpm while spinning that fast

Hurricane WV here. Just picked up a 95 regular cab for a project.
@@DustinCottle awesome I’m not far from hurricane myself just outside Logan
Hello from Martinsburg WV, love your build. hope this can help you put down some better times. idk if you have ballast but you can add weight in the rear until you find the balance where traction increases without making the truck too tail-heavy to control This could be anywhere from 100 to 300+ lbs. if you have adjustable shocks tuning them to handle the weight shift will be key. For the pinion angle, Generally, 1-3 degrees negative is common for this setup to preload the differential. lastly, and i know people role their eyes when i say this, but PSI! your tires are everything! they also change pressure alot in these 80 degree days and 20 degree nights, and they act all wonky when psi is different on every corner.
@@jacobnuckles7854 I drive by martinsburg on my way to work in dc every week lol Yea I have 250lbs of dumbbells mounted aginst the tailgate 125 per corner

do you know what your working pinion angle is? not just the pinion angle
@@phillip-cl8bk yea when it was at +4° pinion the shaft was at down 1° while parked so it had to be over 4° when under power but didn’t have my vibrations lol Now that pinion is at 0° the shaft is now down 2° parked so I imagine under power the pinion will rise to 2-3° and the shaft will come up maybe 1° with it Either way it will be less the 3° I would think now
So when I get to that point of driving mine with a LS 5.3 what would u recommend for traction ? Cuz I know mine will not have good traction when I start driving it. I have Beltech 2inch Nitro Drop shocks all way around it and 2 inch lower blocks in rearend but what else would I need u reckon ?
@@BamaGunsOutdoors depends on mounts and stuff you use and how level the motor is as far s pinion angle but Calvert says when running caltracs the optimum angle for the rear diff is -2 to -4 and they say the caltrac bars will only allow 2° of upward movement
@ well I will see what it does with what I have on it now then go from there but thought about making a metal box 2ftx2ft 2ft deep drilling to the bed and dropping a 5 or 6 10lb-20lb sand bags and put a lid on it to help with traction just a thought…
👍

I’m not trying to be a jerk but why didn’t you fiberglass fab one. Think about it for next time. Fiberglass is super easy to work with and can be sanded down to spec.
@@Burn_pits cheaper and easier to just rivet it all together and bondo it I ain’t sure I’ll even like what this bumper will look like with ground effects so it may not be worth the cost I’ll have in using fiberglass
