Today is March 6, 2023, and I want to know if anyone can find a preprogrammed plug and play ECM. Since Harrison posted this three years ago, all Mercedes dealerships quit carrying the ECM worldwide. Help.
No plug and play solution available but I'm working on my car now with this same issue and finding a used ECU and cloning the old one to it is the only option so far.
Great video/information. I have a crank/no start situation. New crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor. Both batteries are new. (W211) 03 E500. Any ideas? No dtcs on the engine control module, transmission or anything like that.
Harrison, Did you have to change the EGR as well to sync with the new ECU? I have a 2005 E320 CDI as well with the stock EGR from 2005. It won't crank / start when the engine/ECU is hot. ESP malfunction error comes on and once it cools down the problem goes away. thanks!
@@Harrisonco My ecu couldn't be repaired. I purchased another one from junkyard and my auto locksmith program it to operate in my car $300. Total investment $650. Recently i have found another source where you can get new ecu programmed to your vin for $940 Plug and play.
Hello, dnes somebody know if that problem is in the ECU? I have a same problem, checked all fuses, changed relays, but still same. No crank, no glow plug control switch on, fun runs for full power and ESP malfunction on Dashboard. Thanks for answer
Da Kaurinho yes. I’ve put even more miles on my new ECU no signs of the problem at all. It’s been over a year I think. You can try a used ECU and get it cloned. But then it’s still a used ECU that could also go bad. But still I think a lot of people try that route
Hello i just saw your new video and my english not perfect to understand %100. May you write me what was exac problem? I had changed all cable which u showed under leg because of sun roof.please answer me thanks
Murat Gözlükaya I had my mechanic replace the ECU with a new one from Mercedes and the car seems to be fine now. I checked the wires under the carpet to see if they were okay. I don’t think the wires under the carpet were part of my problem
I have a no crank no start. It’s started off as a crank no start and only threw crankshaft code so I replaced that but now it won’t crank. My starter was strong it never had a slow crank my alternator is fine my ecu is fine also. Now it may be a fuse but I replaced every single one when I did my crank sensor replacement. Now the day the no crank happen it cranked and tried to fire up but didn’t so I gave it a few more tries and the last try it did nothing but make a weird loud buzz and popping sounds under my floor board driver side. I need some type of help someone.
Hi Harrison, I tried removing the starter relay and using a jumper wire. With this in place the car will crank, but not start. Did your car ever do this? Do you have any ideas? Thanks!
@@bilaltariq7819 yeah, my car has all kinds of electrical issues, but the most common thing is the battery terminals not have good contact with the battery.
You say you jumped the starter relay and the starter spun the engine? Have you checked that the relay control side ground and relay output side ground are both connected to the negative side of the battery? I think the control side won't be connected to the negative side of the battery. That's the situation I'm in, I'm going to follow the grounds tomorrow
I did some testing with my front SAM, its good, pin 5 of connector I9 of the SAM(big blue connector) is connected to that relay control side ground and its also not grounded, so will follow it back to see where it comes from
WIS blocks out the only wiring diagram that has this information for my car, but I think its correct. Pin 5 of connector I9 on N10/1 SAM goes to ECU connector 4 pin 35 engine ECU. Will need to check continuity and ill try and open the ECU to see if theres anything obvious. Ive checked lots of grounds (not all of them) so im unsure what the problem is

Did you find a solution to your problem? My son has got the same issue with his (my old) 2004 E320 cdi.

So after a while the jumper wire wouldn't work anymore?
Yes. It would still start the car but then it would shut off when I removed the jumper.
I have the same problem, just sent my ecu to SIA Electronics for test.
How did it go? Did they fix it?

Lol. Original star costs like 18 grand and then 2k a year. Cheap copies aren't star, they're just cheap copies.

Hi i have the mercedes but i need to know where is the zgw gateway if its possible to sho me picture for you i think my own is stolen
That is behind the plastic panel over the foot pedals. It’s a small box. 4”x4”x1” or so
@@Harrisonco And they charged you $1200 for that unit?!
These cars are great until they start to fall apart.
Mercedes diesels from 1980 to 1993 would never.
While this car was down I was borrowing my dads “spare” w123 and w124
Saying that is like saying go back to use real horses to haul your ass around. I have both cdi and sdl300 and sdl350. Still love the cdi more.
