- Reviewing the Motorola RAZR 50 Ultra, the best flip phone in 2024 - until Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6 is launched? I've been testing the Moto RAZR 50 Ultra for a week so here's my camera experiences, gaming verdict and battery life review.

The Motorola RAZR 50 Ultra has been fun to use, with a versatile cover screen that can run any app you like. Flip it open to reveal a second pOLED screen, with the full Moto stock Android experience.
That camera tech is solid, so the Motorola RAZR 50 Ultra can capture good looking pics without too much stress. The video chops are pretty good too. Gamers can smash through some Genshin Impact on high detail, and this flip phone won't melt down. While battery life is limited but still good enough to get you through a full day.
So that's my review of the Motorola RAZR 50 Ultra. Stay tuned for a Galaxy Z Flip 6 unboxing, and we'll see how these two foldable smartphones stack up! But what do you reckon - is the Moto RAZR 50 Ultra one of the best phones of 2024?

As an owner of the 23 model, the smart connect app also offers to use your phone as a WEBCAM for your computer connected device. So if you're s content creator, this could serve as a decent travel or mini cam setup for recording.
You can also change the settings on the clam close feature. You can set apps to continually run or disable this feature. Just like you CAN disabled the "close to hangup" feature and switch to speaker mode.
When I close my phone the clock appears and a prompt to "continue?" on apps I was using while open. If I don't accept continue, nothing happens on the screen.
There's also a nifty feature where if you set your phone screen down, it enables DND mode.

And the question that comes up to every sane human being: Have you found the climate disasters in summer of 2020, or in the summer which followed; year 2021 AD that the climate disasters reduced in them? But you found the heat temperature to continue rising in the summer of 2020, summer of 2021, and summer of 2022, also summer of 2023! Are the people of the world cattle as cows that do not think, or are they humans? How can they continue to believe in the global warming theory, surely the entire climate scientists / meteorologists know that Covid 19 destroyed this theory because people of the whole world lock down in the year 2020 until the carbon dioxide is gone from the sky of the planet earth a hundred percent?! So how often I tried to save you by (calling you to) worship Allah, He Alone, no partner for Him, and to disbelieve in your intercessors between Allah’s hands with which Allah did not send down authority for it in the decisive grand Quran, so follow me and do not follow the human satans who hinder the ratification in the true explanatory-statement of the Quran, so pray to your Lord, Him Alone, no partner for Him, so it will be cool and peace upon you on the day of its passage, its flames will befall you if you are not of the praying-worshipers while you are still in the world’s life, so it would hurl sparks as castle at those who turn away, but that is an analogy; in a sense: It sends its sparks in a vertical line (each of you at an angle of one hundred and eighty degrees) to the fact that every inch of the earth is in the range of planet Saqar, and at an angle of one hundred and eighty degrees, its rain descends downward; That is the evil molten rain, then it get into striking stones when its rain enters the earth’s atmosphere; which means that the rain of molten stones solidifies when it enters the atmosphere and turns into balls of the oxide yellow brass, verily, evil is the rain (from clay of brass mixed with another metal) melts and then solidifies into striking pieces when it enters the earth’s atmosphere to be fashioned to withstand against the friction with the atmosphere, so that its rain would be red fireballs that hunt the disbelievers as a sniper with utmost precision, except who asked Allah by the fact of there is no God except He (Allah), and by the fact of His mercy which He ordained upon HimSelf, and by the fact of the greatness of the goodly-pleasure of HimSelf, forgive him/her and to remove from him/her His chastisement by His mercy in order to follow Allah’s caller and His khalifa over the whole world; the Imam Mahdi Nasser Mohammad Al-Yemeni. Ask Allah for steadfastness as you will fail the promise of Allah despite of your noses (unwillingly) If you did not know that Allah comes between a man and his heart, but after what, that you believe in Allah’s true caller? Is it after the heads of young youths turned gray?! The fact that those who postponed their belief in Allah, He Alone, so they do not call upon Allah, He Alone, no partner for Him, until they see the chastisement, they are a people who do not understand; in fact the cattle are more guided in path than them, so this is the reality of those who delay following the caller to the Truth from their Lord until they see the painful chastisement; Allah knows best what they are discrete in hiding of that it is the truth from their Lord to the fact that they did not use their minds before the painful chastisement befall them.”

I couldn't care less about "Clout" I am a power user and use my phone on mass for work, payments, scanning parcel returns own a few different things, anyway, as much screen space in as little room, I love this and use it on mass, I don't have much room my clothes don't have sizeable pockets in my jobs ect. I might be a rare case but it's a game changer for me

I have to totally disagree with the texting/emoji from the lock screen. I've never had an issue and it's actually a point that I've particularly praised.

They tried making but not a lot bought them. G Pixel 4a, Asus zenfone 8/9, iphone 12/13 mini.
It has more to do with consumer psychology than actual objective specs. When people pay a premium for a flagship phone, their caveman lizard brains want "more" to justify the price. Just look at Zenfone 10. MKB gave it a 10/10, I literally read zero negative review on the thing. Everything was spot on well executed. So people, when they need to evaluate it rationally, know this is a good phone. Still its sales was abyssal and Asus is killing the whole compact phone category in their line up.
@@dylanlamarre3768 I agree with you. I myself wanted a compact phone but all of the products released were flagships or highly priced. I wish they had something for budget users as well. I honestly have no use of that much processing power or the camera quality. But even then I guess there were few number of buyers like me who would want that and from a business point of view, its not worth the investment for R&D

Hey chris, did you not get the moto razr 50? I wanted a review of the dimensity 7300X.
Does it have Pixel Call Screening? I gather that outside of Pixel phones some Motorola handsets do have it.
If I have the 2023 model do I need to upgrade to the 2024 for any real reason? By the way I dropped my 2023 version and it hit on the corner and smashed the glass and it cost me $100 to replace.

Battery life is the problem. I returned my 13 mini just because of that.
Make it 0.6mm thicker and put into battery w/ decent capacity, case closed. 13 mini is what, like Apple? I'm talking regular phones not boutique stuff for spendy people....

These are seriously awesome phones, I was able to get a 2023 Razr+ for like 70 percent off because of these new models coming out in a couple weeks. The cover display is really cool. It's actually the same size of an original iPhone. I hardly ever use the internal oled display when out in public.

One quiestion,,can you make a phone call with the phone close?
5-6 hours for 4000 mAh and 8s gen 3? I have Xiaomi 13T with much slower Dimensity 8200 ultra and 5000 mAh and it lasts 4-5 hours only.
They literally set up a new standard for the flip phones, no wonder tho as they invented about 2 decades ago, wooow, I want one so bad!

I have got the razr 40 ultra and it's my second one they get really hot when on video call and this caused the screen protector to start to come away so it was replaced and yet again the screen protector is coming away on this one so I get it sent away for a new screen protector and yes again this one is coming away as well
I had the razer model that came out last year. I did enjoy the phone. Just wished the cameras were better.

Put the camera in same place on the back, so when it's open the small screen would be at bottom half and cameras up top half.

Hi I looked at the Motorola ultra when I was changing my flip 3 and my choice ended up between flip 5 which I purchased or the opposite flip brilliant crease finish. The 40 felt like a plastic toy compared with the other 2 . I hope the 40 has corrected this and become a true competitor.

Honestly that battery is comparatively much better than that of the Z flip or Z fold series. How can you think it's reasonable to make a large format foldable and think that 4300 MaH is a reasonable battery size. I've been using the fold series for years since the fold 2 and now I'm up to the fold 5. I'm seriously considering just going to a small format foldable and this phone is looking amazing as an option. The benefit is that moto still has their own version of Dex so I wouldn't be losing that.

Sounds like the Minuum keyboard would be ideal for the cover screen. I've used that keyboard on all my phones, because I detest keyboards gobbling up too much screen real estate.

The Razr It's better BUT TWO really big draw backs with Motorola is the software updates and the older internals weaker chipset And the commitment the 7 years Samsung promises and how fast Samsung and how good they are with updates that is where Motorola has a huge disadvantage and that is why the z flip overall is still better. It will overall last u much longer and will have much faster updates.
I've got the Razr 40 Ultra, and it continues to amaze me on how brilliant it is, overall. Obviously, I'm envious of the new 50, but, I don't think I will be switching anytime soon. As for the Samsungites that are referring to the 7 years the Flip 6 will offer, I have to ask, who will keep their phone for 7 years? And do I want to have my front screen limited on what I can use it for? 😊
@@chryschrysostomou5392 u can always use good lock and there is actually plenty ppl. See with iPhone they still selling iPhone 11 new at places and ppl buying those and they r now 5 years old. Just saying. And the Razr 40 or 40 plus has not even received the first software update and is way behind still stuck on Android 13. So that's Motorola's issue the updates are just horrible slow. Now almost two years behind. Think about that.

And ppl definitely hold on or buy phones older. Look u can still buy new iPhones 11 those are old what helps is long software support makes those phones last longer and r more desirable. A z flip 6 7 years updates will last a long longer and will be holding its value better since those even after 5 6 years still be a valid choice for some b cause of the software support. Motorola can't even get 3 updates on time. Of they could the Razr would definitely a phone much more ppl would use but the horrible updates holding it back. Unfortunately.

Remember last year when @Mrkeybrd pitted the motorola vs samsung in water, cold, heat, dust, and folding tests? the motorola died after 100,000 folds give or take. The Samsung only showed signs of damage after 400,000 folds. One week of tests.

I loved the 2023 razr plus, the only issue with that was the mediocre battery life so this could be perfect
Its very nice phone u get one year free drop screen damage warranty what usually is not covered in the warranty with other brands + free moto buds.
I really hope this does well and people can stop being blind sheep buying shitty shamesung phones. Motorola and Sony and Pixel phones need to step it up!

I have the Razr 40 ultra and it is a nightmare....i am on my 3rd unit due to various faults, Motorola have not yet pushed android 14 to it, the aftercare from Motorola is horrendous...camera is terrible, the list goes on......i love the concept, and the phone 'WHEN' it works.........but Motorola have put me off ever buying a unit from them again....
The only thing that keeps me from using a fold is the lifespan i always keep my old phones heck i still have my first galaxy s2 working like new but this foldable screens seemslike have finite lifespan ofc i know that is most likely a me problem.

It's a shame they did away with the ultrawide lens, I've really come to use that more than I thought I would on the Z Flip 5 when taking pictures or videos with the phone closed (using the better cameras), it's really a fun party trick and everyone always wants to jump in the video lol A zoom lens basically removes this experience...

The crease is only a problem for people that don't own these foldables. Exactly how range is a problem only for non EV car owners lol. In reality the crease is not noticeable
I have both the the flip 5 and razr from last year and I love the flips camera and built quality more . I wish my Samsung watch would work better with the Motorola, this would be the only way for me to switch to motorola. And if they had a better camera

@fenn5390 that all the samsung AI features don't work on the Motorola. I recently downloaded the beta 6.0 and my watch always disconnects from the phone.
@fenn5390 even before the beat software update , I was not able to get as much details as I normally get from when you sync the watch to a samsung phone
