I hope they step up their software support in the future.

@AlienSuperstar77 Congrats! Yes i do love it. The small screen is basically another phone attached to your normal phone. I can do everything i do on the normal screen but on the front smaller screen. I use the screen like a mp3 player when im listening to music, thanks to the skip buttons when the phone is locked. The small screen saves battery. The trade mark unlock button on the side. What's not to love about the Motorola Razr 🙏
Coming from a Moto Stylus 5G I just wanted an affordable phone with decent memory (Moto has been my go to since 2020) but they were notorious for only going 128 thru carriers. So I just ordered this from my carrier and I'm looking forward to using. I do use my Moto for content and it handles it fine. Thanks for the deets.
I'm on my second New RAZR and I have found the screens to be extremely durable. After two years of use, my first one's screen was completely unblemished, like a brand new phone, and my current one is the same after 18 months. OTOH, one of my neighbour's Z-Flip recently krapped out on him after just over a year and the top half of it is now completely dead. I gotta say, if I had one of these new models, I would probably never access the main screen. It's not really that long ago that a 4" screen was plenty for all of us and it still would be for me, I'm sure.
I owned the original magenta Motorola Razr, I thought I was so cool owning it and now I'm being drawn back yet again though I haven't used Motorola in idk how many years.
The only thing i did not like about the phone is it is not well balanced and when unfolded it always wants to fall forward due to the heavy outer screen. I have to adjust my grip higher than usual to prevent this issue. Other than that it is a super nice phone.
I would buy this phone and use it till the wheels fall off- idc that the fold gets worse or whatever with the hinge. I’m getting my moneys worth - everyone updates their phones every 2 years anyway, if I can get 5 out of this? I’m taking it. After using it up, imma keep it. For the memories. It would make a great phone to keep out of sheer phone collection.
I don't understand why everybody complains about the lack of ultra wide lens. I'm not sure if I'm the minority but I actually prefer the tele lens for when Im going to hockey/baseball games. I picked mine up yesterday for $900 and so far really liking it because its a tad wider than the z flip
3:26, a very important point that you mentioned. I think it would be awesome if the Flip6 had a native function of using all apps on the outer screen, but like you said, it's wild how you use the outer screen more than the inner screen and I think that's why the Flip6 doesn't have that feature. Personally, I would probably use that outer screen 90% of the time, of which doesn't make sense because I paid the price for 2 screens and only use one. May as well just get a tiny phone...anywho, still a cool feature from Motorolla
@@papiii_toni1300no the iphone is better in literally every way other besides home screen customization. Really only get this phone for the gimmick. I love my moto RAZR 2023+ despite the camera being horrible. Maybe opt for the Samsung since the cam and video are actually good in that one. One downside is that the front display is 60hz meaning it's less smooth than Motos but it has far better features like better updates, customization, better camera options and quality, as well as the fact that it's more compact. It also might be more optimized I'm not sure though. One major reason I'd recommend it is that it's shorter and wider rather than long and skinny like the razr. I never understood the move to replacing telephoto lens with ultrawide when you have only 2 lenses, so I'm very glad Moto did this. Each to their own, but on other devices I use my telephoto all the time and rarely used ultrawide so I seem to always have to get Pro versions of phones these days. This may be the top reason for some people to choose the Razr over the Flip.
How's the durability I had broken my zflp4 multiple times and honestly at this point I'm not sure I like how the phones crease ends up breaking on the phone after a while even if you have a case and you drop it mine broke multiple times
Thx man, much appreciated, helped me decide, definitely the phone for. Me 😊 also i am the one who did not know what vegan leather is 😂, and i really appreciate you giving it a calm review not just tryna grab attention and stating the same stuff over and over and being honest❤
I understand this phone support wireless charging in general, but I wasn't sure if it works with the circular Magsafe ring charging. I'm also finding conflicting answers about whether or not this phone supports 'esim' compatibility.
i ordered one yesterday and it is arriving in a few hours, i hear so many people mention the lack of an ultrawide and i totally agree, whoever decided people needed a 2x lens more than an ultrawide is really disconnected. this phone is perfect for selfies and people taking selfies love the option of ultrawide, i can't even remember the last time i used the zoom on my current phone, but i use ultrawide all of the time for group selfies. i'm still looking forward to having the phone, but someone really dropped the ball by including a 2x instead of an ultrawide, whats-more you can digitally zoom to 2x and still have a decent image anyway, 2x just seems like an absolute waste of space, i'd rather just have one camera on the front instead of a 2x.
I bought Razr+ 2024 from Amazon and am using in Singapore with Simba which supports VOLTE. It’s just that I can’t find the 4G(LTE) network choice on my device as suggested.
The “crease” in these flip phones is the one reason keeping me from pulling the trigger. It’s just an eye sore that I know would always irk me. Otherwise these flip phones would be 100% the way to go. Great review.
Are you fully invested in the Apple ecosystem? (iPod, apple watch,, iPad, apple earbuds, MacBook, Mac desktop). If you are, you might regret it, but the gap between the devices communicating is getting smaller. Moving from iPhone to Pixel was really difficult (wife had like 200 gbs worth of pics and videos on her phone). Huge pain. Not sure if moto has software that makes it easier or not. I've owned iphones, pixel phones, Motorola, Samsung, (currently have the Pixel Fold as my daily). I'm tired of hauling around such a large and heavy screen. If you don't have to have a top of the line camera, and you want a portable phone, then life is short, go for it
I did it and for the first couple days I thought I was going to have to switch back because I wasn't sure I like the android operating system. However now that I've given it about a week I will absolutely be sticking with the Razr I love the phone and the operating system has been growing on me. At this point I won't switch back anytime soon
Hey Seth! killer review. this helped a lot. I do have an additional question. but as a vlogger, have you try using an external mic through USB-C on it? I just want to test to see if actually connects to external microphones at all.
What made the razr great was that it was original in design. Felt good in hand, styled for the future. This doesn't really capture that. They should have just updated the OG model and kept the fold screen, updated the keyboard, and it would have been another classic. Could have probably been the only keyboard phone on the market.
Motorola did such a good job this year. Using the Flip5 right now with no plans on upgrading until it craps out (screen is still great 1 year in), but when it does, I've got my eyes on the Razr+ 2024. That cover screen is incredible but I'm a little concerned with the no ultra wide lens situation... oh and P.S. I think the flip style phones need to be a little shorter and a little wider. Just a little, nothing crazy
The problem with Motorola that almost no youtuber mention is the poor uodate support and they are very sluggish to deliver them or fix any issues... until they get serious I'll stick with Samsung
That's not been my experience, although it is also not something I care greatly about. I recently got an Android update and earlier in the year I got a Motorola update that has significantly improved the image quality of my photos, especially at night. I think two or three updates a year is just about right and that's about what I've been getting.
And the problem with Samsung is if your phone has any issues they will literally scam their way out of trying to fix it. They claimed a phone of mine had water damage simply because the little sticker inside had turned pink for whatever reason. But it had never been wet. And the problems it had were not at all related to water damage as far as I can see. And on top of it when they sent it back to me they had broken the screen trying to pry it apart and they wouldn't cover it. They might have saved 50 bucks by denying my warranty but that was several years ago and I haven't bought a Samsung product sense, and never will again. And there are plenty of people with similar stories
@@cuchanuI had the same experience with a past Samsung product and customer service. They lost thousands in revenue from me and will not get another cent.
hello world, could someone help me please, i have a question about this phone, because of my eyes i must have night on and maxed out when i use phones, laptops etc, so if you turn the night light on on it, is it on on the external screen when you are using it closed? i would be quite grateful for this info so if anyone knows please answer thank you
I'd like to know when the phone is folded up can you answer a phone call or make a phone call in regular Mic mode meaning holding the phone up to your ear and speaking so others cannot hear you? As far as I know on the most current Samsung model the phone will only work in speakerphone mode but you can make and receive calls with the phone folded however if you want to go to private mode you have to unfold the phone... Bummer.
After having the phone for a month without dropping it, there is a black mark across where it folds and can't press on much. Be careful, lots of complaints on reddit abt the exact same issue😊
Hello from south jersey, finally found a local TH-camr! I’ve been thinking about getting one of these razrs as I had a pink one in high school. I’ve had iPhones for the past 10ish years, currently have a iPhone 13 and now starting to lose interest and this new razr phone looks fun but just concerned with the divet in the middle to fold it.
My dream phone is basically this with iOS on it. Apple needs to make one, it'd sell really well I think. The profile of modern smartphones is too big, and the folding hinge opens up a lot of cool opportunities, it's basically a built in stand.
You can get this phone in Walmart with straight talk for 199$ In-Store. It currently retails for 349$+ I'm thinking about getting this phone as a second device. I use a S24U and I haven't had any complaints with the S24U yet after a few months of use. But I find myself wanting a second device for other things like games and work stuff so I'm gonna give the Razr a try.
The only problem I see with the design is: the soft plastic screen may be easil ruined. Also, I'm guessing it may only last two years max from opening and closing. $500-$1000 for two years usage -- not such a great value ? $200 - $400 more acceptable ✅
The fact that samsung, a screen manufacturing powerhouse, has the less cool front screen between them and motorola is wild.
Well back in the day Moto was the top dog with the Droids, so they have to have some good developers. I never thought moto would resurface again!
samsung these days are greedy. they take your money more but give you less.

I'm also finding conflicting answers about whether or not this phone supports 'esim' compatibility.
i ordered one yesterday and it is arriving in a few hours, i hear so many people mention the lack of an ultrawide and i totally agree,
whoever decided people needed a 2x lens more than an ultrawide is really disconnected.
this phone is perfect for selfies and people taking selfies love the option of ultrawide,
i can't even remember the last time i used the zoom on my current phone, but i use ultrawide all of the time for group selfies.
i'm still looking forward to having the phone, but someone really dropped the ball by including a 2x instead of an ultrawide,
whats-more you can digitally zoom to 2x and still have a decent image anyway, 2x just seems like an absolute waste of space,
i'd rather just have one camera on the front instead of a 2x.
They’re getting better I get what you saying though
It's so not noticeable honestly. Better than my Samsung by far.
I’m curious your thoughts of a full time iPhone user making the switch? Thanks!
How's the OS? I would be using this phone for notes, reminders and pdf. would it be better than the z flip?
@@cuchanushould I stop buying samsung?
@@cuchanuI had the same experience with a past Samsung product and customer service. They lost thousands in revenue from me and will not get another cent.
Samsung always have speaker problem
Soooo…. Should we wait for the next one to come out for possible improvements?I love thissss
Just upgraded from a Motorola stylus to the razor+ and I'm looking forward to it, I have a weird Motorola nostalgia also
hello world,
could someone help me please, i have a question about this phone, because of my eyes i must have night on and maxed out when i use phones, laptops etc, so if you turn the night light on on it, is it on on the external screen when you are using it closed? i would be quite grateful for this info so if anyone knows please answer
thank you
I'd like to know when the phone is folded up can you answer a phone call or make a phone call in regular Mic mode meaning holding the phone up to your ear and speaking so others cannot hear you?
As far as I know on the most current Samsung model the phone will only work in speakerphone mode but you can make and receive calls with the phone folded however if you want to go to private mode you have to unfold the phone... Bummer.
After having the phone for a month without dropping it, there is a black mark across where it folds and can't press on much. Be careful, lots of complaints on reddit abt the exact same issue😊
A month? It was in pre order two week ago 😅
Should be no problem. Just take care about the phone.
How's the sound quality on phone calls? Motorola used to be the best. Are they still?
How's the camera on this phone??
Between rarz 2024 and the pixel 8 pro which you think is better? Thank you!
Switching from samsung ultra 24. Worth it?
I am holding on to my Razr 5G (2020) and stuck between this and the Z Flip6... I Really wish they had that the ultrawide function on this one
What wallpaper are you using on the external display?
I was not expecting to see Seth when I clicked on this video lol
The display is only 1080p?? I was expecting 4k with a $1000 phone
Basically only Sony does 4K phone screens. Samsung and Apple both are sitting near 1440p at this point.
My dream phone is basically this with iOS on it.
Apple needs to make one, it'd sell really well I think. The profile of modern smartphones is too big, and the folding hinge opens up a lot of cool opportunities, it's basically a built in stand.
Imagine unfolding every you want to respond to a text? It would get old real quick.
Do you think we will see phones that are just a small thin square like the outside screen if people use that form factor so much?
I'm choosing the Razr2024 non plus because the ultrawide lens is gonna be more useful. I will wait for Black Friday deals
It is definetely worth it for me. One of the best phones I ever had with a great battery and full speed recharging
Do the razor phones have a microSD card slot?
No
The Samsung Z Flip 6 is a worthy competitor, but Customer Service and after-sales support let it down badly.
You're in Philly! Nice
How is the customer service? Screen replacement?
Are you still available to use the old razr? The original one?
still better than an iphone!
Broke man’s cope
@@tetherkingit cost the same as an iPhone g
Hey man how did you add Moto Gametime to the external display? Thanks for the video!
Any way to use a protector?
Do flips and folds really compete?
Will TH-cam play videos on the putter screen?
Outer screen yes
The only problem I see with the design is: the soft plastic screen may be easil ruined.
Also, I'm guessing it may only last two years max from opening and closing.
$500-$1000 for two years usage -- not such a great value ?
$200 - $400 more acceptable ✅
How is the build of the phone especially the hinge. Does it feel flimsy ?
@@Prathamesh22049 all motos feel flimsy because the are returned mine for a flip 5 prime day special much better
Thinking bout getting mines this week any tips?
What’s diff between this and the Ultra?
they are the same, they are just called the ultra in the uk
Software compatibility with networks. Nothing else.
Is the option for peak display back on these phones?
can this last the whole day on heavy usage?
