I have been a fan of Samsung for years. I have do say in this case I would not recommend getting this phone. I had mine for 2 months always cased never dropped or submerged. The main screen went out. Samsung had me take it to a local repair shop and they said the motherboard went bad. Story 2 called customer service phone can be fixed for 325.00$. 3rd text with Samsung phone is not repairable you damaged it we will not replace and it is being shipped back. If you have one Goodluck!
I've been running z flip too but since google removed the assistant from cover screen, it took a great feature out of what it was a very useful phone. Now i have to manage with bixby in the cover... some say it's security but you can still use the assistant with the phone opened but with the screen off and locked. Algo i ride motorcycles and can't use Google assistant anymore for the same reason and had to associate bixby instead. I wish they bring it back because for me, google assistant is a must and i don't want to take a foldable phone always unfold in order to make use of it.
You were actually the person that convinced me to try out a folding phone. Unfortunately, mine has not held up so well and I ended up getting the Motorola razor fold + . I hope the Z flip six holds up better.
I really like the style of the Flip and have been a Samsung guy for about a decade. I was on the fence about getting a Flip, but after watching multiple videos, I can't justify trading in my S24 ultra.
My main concern with my Flip was the durability of the screen. I've had to take my Flip4 for repair under the manufactures warranty 4 times in 11 months. After the 4th time Samsung did not want to repair it anymore. They messed up from simple drops with case on and screen protector. The last one I accidentally dropped a regular pencil on the screen by mistake and the screen messed up. I absolutely love the form factor though. I miss how easy it was to carry around. I don't miss the battery life though.
As someone who has had space issues in the past the lack of a micro SD slot when we know damn well they could fit it in with the Sim slot area with minimal effort is just unforgivable. I hate that the leave this out in what to me seems to be an effort to sell you on their higher capacity models.
I have the Flip 5. I love it. Not so much the battery life and camera. Picture quality is okay for me. I use it for a year. No issues or scratches. The hinge, inner display are in great condition. No damage. Not sure if I should upgrade. Nice video. Enjoy your new phone 📱.
I got my z flip 6 from my carrier for $9.97/mo for 2 years and they gave me like $500 to trade in my S20 FE. So without paying the full retail price the phone is awesome
I have the S24Ultra and the Flip 6. And I'll upgrade each next year. My dear wife can't understand it (She still using the S22, or maybe its the S21). I just had to have the Flip 6 and Im glad I got it. I will carry the Flip in my pocket and use the S24Ultra at home, these days, for mostly photo editing and posting. If Samsung ever gives us a lighter, slimmer Fold with an S-Pen and (preferably) 16 gb Ram with 1 Tb of storage (I always get 1 Tb from Samsung unlocked), and a bit wider when closed.... my ideal phone for home and travel would be that. But the flip as of this year is the perfect phone for me when leaving the house. I have (for some time) enjoyed purchasing from Samsung (all my tech), trading in my older technology, and dealing with them. Theyve extended my trade in time when ive forgotten for good customer service. Take it from me (with years of experience) the Flip 6 is a marvel of technology and is pretty close to perfect today.
Had it for a month and a half, main screen went unresponsive to touch. Asurion says the warranty is not going to work due to some noise it makes which would cost too much to repair. No major scratches or cracks on the screen whatsoever, and NO water damage, but now I have to pay $300 for a deductible just to repair/replace. Phone is overall not worth the price and hassle. Back to Apple 😢
I'm holding it right now, and I'd say it's worth the extra cost, especially if you can ease it with a trade-in deal. It feels much more premium and sturdy. Notable improvements: 1. Better haptics 2. Much less noticeable crease 3. New vividness option in display, allowing for better color over the flip 5 4. Better speaker with less resonance 5. All matte textures, which I prefer
I've been using a Z Fold for the last 3 years, and its great. Having a big screen paired with a decent processor, ready in your pocket whenever you want it has been awesome. That being said it made me realize how nice an ACTUAL tablet would be. So now I'm leaning towards switching from m Z fold as a singular do-it-all device, to a Tab S9 for gaming, work apps, translation, sharing, dex, etc. Basically ALL my heavy lifting. And a Z flip as- a phone. And also as a hotspot for my Tab.
5:00 These tech youtubers talk about how the vapor chamber helps...but then they only give anecdotals. Why aren't these big tech channels measuring the thermal improvements, if there are any, between z5 and z6 under load? It comes off as a bit lazy.
Owned the flip 5... Processor wise it's great. Bought a Razr 2024 and haven't looked back. Has more to offer external screen wise and battery life is better not great tho.
I've considered going for the upgrade, but haven't made up my mind yet. I'm still rocking the Flip 3 from almost exactly 3 years ago, and my main gripe during that time has been the almost pointless outer screen and limited battery life. The advances theyve made to both in the intervening years has me kinda excited. As far as price, it doesn't really bother me that much. I just checked AT&T for trade-in deals, and I could trade in my current phone and get the Flip 6 basically for free. The extra $100 doesn't matter if you don't have to pay it.
I’m still seeing quite a bit of reports from users both online and from people I know that their Z Flip’s screen just cracks and breaks after a few months to a year, this is with the Z Flip 5 and older. Hopefully this new one is different but only time will tell. Until Samsung can make a Z flip or a foldable in general that lasts at least 2 years without breaking, I’ll be sticking with the reliable regular slab phones whether that be iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, or any other regular phone. I don’t want to deal with the hassle of having to send in a flip phone for repair every few months. Sure the issue doesn’t seem to be as widespread as before, but the fact that it still exists means there’s still always the chance it could happen to my unit as well if I do get one.
I've been rocking the OnePlus open for months, and I feel like that phone really addressed the crease better than any Samsung phone has done to date. If swiping across the crease has the risk of knocking my finger off track then I have no interest in that phone
Mr Mobile dont mess around! One of my buddies was telling me that the previous model crapped out on him. The screen started to have issues making the phone useless. He was expexted to pay a deductible of like $300 after having insurance! But no TH-camr warns a customer about that shit.
Coming from iPhone 14 pro to a flip 6 I am IN LOVE. In comparison to just other phones in the market it's not a bad price overall. I think it's worth the upgrade.
I had both the Flip 3 and the 5, and as much as I loved them (they were my favorite phones I’ve ever had), I came to the conclusion that I can’t use them with longer nails. My nails aren’t even suuuuper long, they are just a little long, but they damage the screen. It’s a shame, I miss them dearly
I'll be honest, the only thing pushing me to want to get a ZFlip 6 after having a ZFlip 5 for only a month now, is the battery. The camera to me is fine, only time it gets hot is while charging, I have a case that does a adequate job protecting it and I have insurance if screen issues ensue. So I'm not too worried about it, but time will tell. This was my first high end phone purchase ever.
As someone who enjoys phone games and consuming media on my phone I tried the zflip6 I was also switching back from apple to android, if not for the awkward dimensions of the flip id have been sold on it. The fact that my games couldn’t flip to horizontal orientation and in vertical orientation I had to awkwardly scroll to see either side of me was more or less a dealbreaker. Its sad they didn’t just take the ultras dimensions and make it flip because if not for that gripe (and Samsung pay being hardwired into the watch/phone despite still being inferior compared to Google and Apple Pay) the zflip6 was a very fun if not gimmicky device… the realization that upgrading for the sake of a better gaming experience while sacrificing my gaming experience would be self defeating and the iPhone 16 being right around the corner brought me back to wait it out. God I wish this phone had the same screen size as the ultra it would have been perfect…
The flex cable that was connecting the two halves is the only reason why you should think about getting a Flip / Fold. This is a ticking time bomb. It will degrade and fail even if you baby your device.
I had the z flip 3 for 3 years and has been the most durable phone I've owned. Slapped a tough armor case on it day 1.. Not a scratch on it when trading in for the flip 6. The case took a beating 😂
Question? Did you have to have any warranty work done on your zFlip 5? My 1st zFlip was the 3, and then Ive upgraded every year since. I've never been hard on phones. All my friends have smashed up screens on their new phones, and I'd have my 5 year old phone with not a scratch! I had no problems with any of my phones I've owned until the zFlip 5. One day my z 5 slipped off my coffee table onto my thick carpeted floor, and half the screen went black! No cracks. Another time I bumped it on my steering wheel getting out of my car It certainly wasn't a hard bump. This time a black line went across the center fold! Currently the black is starting to creep from the left side of the screen where the hinge is and the very left bottom corner doest respond to touch but there's no black or any type of damage to the phone.. I've had to have warranty work done on it twice now and it really needs it a third time. I'm trading up to get rid of this 5 model because my manufacturers warranty is expiring. I don't really want to because this deal is shit!!! They're paying us a lot less for our trade ins. Maybe because of the amount of warranty work they've had to perform on them?? And the phones more expensive then last years but we got a lot more upgrades last year then this year..
Really wanting to switch by Christmas from my s22 ultra to the z flip man this phone seems so cool. I've wanted a z flip since they came out but wanted to give them time to work out some of the bugs
I had the Flip 3, 4, and 5 and my 6 is definitely worth an extra 100 bucks. It's the first that feels like a full flagship phone. The earlier ones were always missing something. That said, with Samsung's US trade in deals, I have never paid full price for any of them!
I agree with Mr. Mobile. It is not worth upgrading if you have a Z Flip 5. I'm still very happy with the 5, and I'm hoping that Samsung makes more improvements on the 7. Only time will tell...
What's up? I've been with my Flip 6 since August. It's become my favorite phone. I love so much about it. I'm writing to see, what you're excited about in the Z Flip 7? Based on leaks etc. I think 3 cameras will be incredible, especially if there is a zoom.
The phone got a new 50 mega pixel camera, a larger battery, a new thinner ligher design, double the internal storage to 256 and doubled the ram from 8 to 12, added dust resistant for the first time the best processor on the market. Idk for 100 bucks more seems like alot. Plus in most places your not paying full price with promotions and sales. That increase gives them room to discount more and still make a decent profit. Also snapdragon is charging more for the processors.
1. 8 gb to 12 gb is not double 2. the dust resistance is only certified for objects larger than 1mm, which makes it not truly dust resistant. 3. The amount it slimmed down by is smaller than the amount of “dust resistance” it has. (.2mm thinner).
I really like how the cameras are improved, the battery increased, and the crease decreased in Z flip 6. What I don't want is the price hike of 100 dollars, like what's so special about this phone compared to Z flip 5?
this year is the first time ive decided to try out the flip - I dont rely on my camera anywhere near as much as I used to as I have my Canon. Ive used a few iterations of the Fold and I even got the Fold 6 to try alongside the Flip 6 - may sound crazy but I actually love the Flip so much more! 😄 its just fun to use! no chance I was paying full retail price for the fold either 🤢 so that's being returned. Got the Flip 6 BNIB from Ebay for £730 - amazing how fast the price drops on the private market! I wouldn't have paid £1050 to be honest but at £730 I think it's very solid.
unfortunately Samsung won't make an actual good fold or flip until some real competition is in the USA, by that I mean, Apple will have to make a folding phone before Samsung actually starts taking it seriously again.
If they can figure out a way for the screen protector to not be such a boon, I will be much more intrigued. I don't want to have to replace it every 8-12 months through Samsung, or worry about any bubbling damaging the display if I fold it before immediately replacing it when it bubbles, etc. Just sounds like a pain, and a bit of a mess. Overall it's very close though. A few more cover screen optimizations (full, proper, out-of-the-box app support, further optimizations for notification replies, etc), less prominent crease/other improvements to inner display durability/screen protector, better dust protection, some camera improvements... and that's about it. Still curiously missing Dex though.
You just keep flipping it like the golden days of the moto razr and I'm buying this today. 7 years of os updates means they will sell less phones in the longrun so they have to make up revenue somewhere.
I've had my z flip 6 a few days now and while I haven't properly set it up yet it's a really good phone I think, but it's my first phone of this style, so nothing to compare to. Once I've figured how to get multiple apps on the cover screen I really like the phone. I've been using that more until I need to open the phone for certain things. The front screen is big enough for decent browser size and app sizes like Amazon etc. One thing I don't like is the apps like Netflix etc don't fill up more of the screen as I'd have liked. It's not purposely designed with that in mind, but it could've shrunk the black bars a little more. Other than the monthly cost difference it was the lack of filling up the screen more for movies that I decided against the fold 6. The crease is weird when you are moving apps over the screen, but the crease doesn't bother me visually.
Never buying a flip phone with crease technology again, had the flip 3 it basically black screened with crease breaking down the line in 6months. An expensive gimmick

The price increase is like wanting to pay the same for a Big Mac today as you did in 1980.
YES, EXACTLY!!!
I really like the style of the Flip and have been a Samsung guy for about a decade. I was on the fence about getting a Flip, but after watching multiple videos, I can't justify trading in my S24 ultra.
I just got it myself I freaking love it
My main concern with my Flip was the durability of the screen.
Just bought z flip 5 for like 500$ and it's amazing 🔥
As someone who has had space issues in the past the lack of a micro SD slot when we know damn well they could fit it in with the Sim slot area with minimal effort is just unforgivable. I hate that the leave this out in what to me seems to be an effort to sell you on their higher capacity models.
Do not over use while you charging your z flip 6 dude Samsung phones gets extremely hot you will have a swollen battery
Never had the urge to get a flip phone, give me a decent camera and battery life and I'm happy
Maybe wait another year for the flip 7 because then there are way more upgrades
how long does the battery work for you? tks
Damn bro just get a computer if you want all those crazy specs haha
Just kidding
Had it for a month and a half, main screen went unresponsive to touch. Asurion says the warranty is not going to work due to some noise it makes which would cost too much to repair. No major scratches or cracks on the screen whatsoever, and NO water damage, but now I have to pay $300 for a deductible just to repair/replace. Phone is overall not worth the price and hassle. Back to Apple 😢
I'm holding it right now, and I'd say it's worth the extra cost, especially if you can ease it with a trade-in deal. It feels much more premium and sturdy.
Notable improvements:
1. Better haptics
2. Much less noticeable crease
3. New vividness option in display, allowing for better color over the flip 5
4. Better speaker with less resonance
5. All matte textures, which I prefer
I’m going from the 12 Pro max to it. I’m getting a good deal so hoping I love it.
@macymiller3417 I really like it. Just be careful of drops when it's opened. It's a little more fragile than typical glass phones.
Because of your first review about my first c flip I'm very excited
What about the new razr?
I've been using a Z Fold for the last 3 years, and its great. Having a big screen paired with a decent processor, ready in your pocket whenever you want it has been awesome. That being said it made me realize how nice an ACTUAL tablet would be. So now I'm leaning towards switching from m Z fold as a singular do-it-all device, to a Tab S9 for gaming, work apps, translation, sharing, dex, etc. Basically ALL my heavy lifting. And a Z flip as- a phone. And also as a hotspot for my Tab.
Traded my s21 ultra and paid 800 witj taxes. I hated my 128gb of memory. Now onto a flip 6 with 512gb and a bigger battery. Excited.
Yesss I'm in an Austin Evans video
congratulations!
I love your videos btw
I've considered going for the upgrade, but haven't made up my mind yet. I'm still rocking the Flip 3 from almost exactly 3 years ago, and my main gripe during that time has been the almost pointless outer screen and limited battery life. The advances theyve made to both in the intervening years has me kinda excited.
As far as price, it doesn't really bother me that much. I just checked AT&T for trade-in deals, and I could trade in my current phone and get the Flip 6 basically for free. The extra $100 doesn't matter if you don't have to pay it.
They're up to 6 now!?
pump them out every year because idiots buy them lmao

Well, most of them die after the first few months / year, kinda need to release a ton of them to try to negate that.
Unless it is a fold phone, no phone should be over $1000
How about no phone should be over $1000 period? Apple started that BS with the iPhone X
Samsung has great trade ins, so no need to buy retail price.😊
You can fold this phone, right?
I've been rocking the OnePlus open for months, and I feel like that phone really addressed the crease better than any Samsung phone has done to date. If swiping across the crease has the risk of knocking my finger off track then I have no interest in that phone
As long as a fingernail can leave a permanent mark on these screens there's a huge compromise still.
Just gotta cut your fingernails 😂
Mr Mobile dont mess around!
One of my buddies was telling me that the previous model crapped out on him. The screen started to have issues making the phone useless. He was expexted to pay a deductible of like $300 after having insurance! But no TH-camr warns a customer about that shit.
finnaly a youtuber that mains a samsung and not a iphone not saying that iphones are bad or something but i just prefer samsungs
I’ve never had a flip or fold phone, but I just ordered the flip 6. I’m hoping the flip function takes me out of my phone more
The sound it makes reminds me of closing a Game Boy Advanced. Would pay the extra money just because of that
Gameboy sp😊
Coming from iPhone 14 pro to a flip 6 I am IN LOVE. In comparison to just other phones in the market it's not a bad price overall. I think it's worth the upgrade.
SO GLAD to hear! I’m on my 12 Pro Max and tomorrow I get my z flip 6! I’m soooo excited.
@@macymiller3417 yesss !!! What color did you get ?
I also have a 14 Pro currently. I’m trying to decide! I want a flip phone so bad! I want to customize and make it so cute! 🥰
I like that he uses Samsung and other phones
You officially win the award for the most useless comment 🎉
@@SamxMusic68 thank you thank you very much
I had both the Flip 3 and the 5, and as much as I loved them (they were my favorite phones I’ve ever had), I came to the conclusion that I can’t use them with longer nails. My nails aren’t even suuuuper long, they are just a little long, but they damage the screen. It’s a shame, I miss them dearly
It's like the EV of the smartphone realm. $1100 today, Peanuts tomorrow. And for good reason
I switched from Apple iPhone to Samsung Z Flip6 and Im Happy 🎉greetings from Switzerland 😊
feels good to not have a 10 inch brick in ur pocket doesnt it?
A samsung phone without dex is a compromise
why tf would u wanna dex on a small phone like this
@@danielk9422 it doesn't matter how small the phone is? If you have a huge display then ur gtg
I've been in the, z-flip culture since the 3 (3 years ago now), I have the 4 now and I am looking forward to upgrading to the 6 next month.
“easily the best folding phone theyve ever made” 🤨🤨 0:03 ?!?
What
it is folding, but most say flipping
It folds
well yeah, latest generation of a certain product is almost always the best
I'll be honest, the only thing pushing me to want to get a ZFlip 6 after having a ZFlip 5 for only a month now, is the battery. The camera to me is fine, only time it gets hot is while charging, I have a case that does a adequate job protecting it and I have insurance if screen issues ensue. So I'm not too worried about it, but time will tell. This was my first high end phone purchase ever.
If it has an apple logo on it, it would be worth 300 increase.
It'd be $2000 with no upgradable storage and lower quality hinges.
No cracks. Another time I bumped it on my steering wheel getting out of my car
It certainly wasn't a hard bump.
I've wanted a z flip since they came out but wanted to give them time to work out some of the bugs
motorola is the higher quality phone. 1 yr zero issues compared to samsungs cracked screens or hinges breaking.
I had the Flip 3, 4, and 5 and my 6 is definitely worth an extra 100 bucks. It's the first that feels like a full flagship phone. The earlier ones were always missing something. That said, with Samsung's US trade in deals, I have never paid full price for any of them!
as someone daily driving flip5, i think i wil wait for the nx iteration. the trade up promo doesnt justify the slight camera/batt bump
I agree with Mr. Mobile. It is not worth upgrading if you have a Z Flip 5. I'm still very happy with the 5, and I'm hoping that Samsung makes more improvements on the 7. Only time will tell...
Got the Z Fold 4, 2nd hand for about $400. Much more worth it over the flip for me and over newer expensive folds
Yes, it is . I am enjoying this phone. Is very small and compact
this looks like something I can finally move to from my iphone8, I had no idea flip phones were still a thing, it looks nice I'll need to test it out
can finally run and walk with my phone in my pocket without feeling the ruler in my pants
1. 8 gb to 12 gb is not double
2. the dust resistance is only certified for objects larger than 1mm, which makes it not truly dust resistant.
3. The amount it slimmed down by is smaller than the amount of “dust resistance” it has. (.2mm thinner).
Austin, I'm curious to know if you still have the LG Wing you demonstrated years ago. Congratulations from Brazil.
The camera is one of the reasons I only went to the Flip 5 for like 6 months in-between S Ultras... and wasted $500. 😭
An expensive gimmick
good . now how long do i have to wait until nothing but price will be different from the candy bar style?
