@@GTArajgamingYou are wrong. While the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside, the Razr 50 Ultra has the 8s Gen 3 chip! I owned motorlas for years, the G Series phones and had like 3 or 4 of them, and I now own a Samsung. And to be honest, I got a Samsung, expecting something magical and it's just not the hype. Granted I have an S20 FE and other than the better camera and faster processing, I hate One UI. I hate that Samsung want me to use their apps. Like Google is doing the apps already. I just have wasted space of apps I don't need, use or want. As for the security updates, you really won't care. This Samsung needs updates and downloads every few weeks or every few months. It's nice in theory but annoying in practice cause I hate having to download and restart. Anyway... I'm moving on to the Sony Xperia 1 VI. It's offering me things I like, despite the high price.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MOTOROLA! My RAZR 2023 broke within three weeks and then was completely done in three months! It is a very COMMON OCCURENCE! Do not give them ur money!
The razr contract deals in the uk seem really good £29.99 per month with 100gb data. Flip 6 is quite a lot more at £45-50 per momth. Really tempting to pick up the razr, it looks really nice imo
Flip 6 contract deal I got in germany: 300€ once and than 30€ monthly for 2 years with 35 gigs of data. Also Buds 3 pro, watch7 and a flipsuite case included. That was the offer of offers for me.
awesome video, thanks for the comparison. I ordered the flip 6 because of the awesome trade in deal, but that Motorola is looking hella fancy with that huge outside screen
Motorola ftw 🎉. I don't want to have to download and screw around with goodlock to make my outside screen more useful. I'm sick of the duplicate apps on Samsung One UI also. I haven't had a Motorola in years but I may just go for one, either this razr plus or the edge plus (edge 50 ultra) when it finally makes its way to the US. I'm ultimately waiting for Pixel to get it's crap together and put a decent chip/modem in the Pixel Pro, maybe 2026...lol. Thanks for an awesome comparison review!! Cheers!
With trade in on the ZFlip 6 from a 5 were so slow, Moto may be my next phone to try in the US. Battery and function are the most important so it's the first to under 300 for me to upgrade
They got that profit-first mentality and started removing features, charger. Driving up prices. Because they think they'll get away with it. They have a loyal base already and brand identity, so no need to innovate or be customer first.
So do many others. You would think according to the laws of demand and supply we would have these basic features in new phones. Especially the more expensive ones.
How do channels like MKBHD have more subs than you. He barely puts out a review every month and when he does it's always for some expensive flagship. You deserve all the subs!
Agree, but MKBHD started the game way back since 2013, in the beginning he also did the same kind of video in detail. Now as we know he is the tech king, so he don’t need to put much effort anymore.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MOTOROLA! My RAZR 2023 broke within three weeks and then was completely done in three months! It is a very COMMON OCCURENCE! Do not give them ur money! They overheat like hell as soon as you turn them on, and the screen breaks by itself within months!
The only downside to the excellent Motorola RAZR 50 is the lack of competitive updates; Samsung have the lead on this. If I had the cash to spaf, I'd go for the Samsung, its eco system is just that little bit more evolved. Great review, loved the comparisons, its a very close race between the two, and of course, the RAZR 50 Ultra is a bit cheaper, and has a larger external screen.
I have to agree. Moto packs a lot of features into their phones but software support is key. Samsung constantly pushes updates all the time. The camera will get significantly better as they refine it.
Would definitely take the Samsung out of the 2, but won't be changing this year - the 6 doesn't seem a big enough upgrade over my Flip 5. Samsung usually offer really good upgrade deals but this time feels less generous...
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MOTOROLA! My RAZR 2023 broke within three weeks and then was completely done in three months! It is a very COMMON OCCURENCE! Do not give them ur money!!!

Preordered my MOTO Razr + and I'm hype! I'm coming from a Samsung A52 5g. Hopefully I dont miss the Samsung apps too much. But judging by your review, the flip 6 is better?
I also ordered the moto razr+ I'm genuinely excited. I compared both in the store and the flip is definitely not a better choice. The hinge is really difficult to open sometimes. The moto seems pretty smooth.
You’re great at comprehension. He said it without saying it. Especially when be iterates that he has not had much time with the Zflip before filming this.
It's good to see if other companies release globally like Samsung but fortunate they're not popular like samsung or apple and still other people mocking android unless you're using Samsung or maybe pixel devices.
I get what you're saying but a lil bit of effort can get your phone with *zero* bloatware or free bloatware. Using ADB command, I removed all the unnecessary apps from my android phones for years. But most people don't wanna hassle with those extra steps after spending tons of money on their shiny high-end cellphone and why would they?
Great review! Had two SS Z Flips in past, but jumped to a SS Z Fold 18 months ago. Haven't loved the Fold and missed the flip style phone for a bunch of reasons, so recently I decided to go back to a flip. Love the comfort of an easy carry smaller phone that gets bigger when needed (turns into a lighthouse?). Started looking at reviews when the new Flip 6 arrived last week, and saw that the Razr has made some major progress since I last looked at them in the pre-covid world. By all accounts in the many reviews I saw, the Razr crushed it on the outside screen, which was one of my main complaints about the Z Flips - the outer screen was not functional, and a wasted opportunity. It reminded me that, IMO, I don't love the robotic non creative ways Samsung functions. And I hate all the gimmicks and Samsung baggage. Bixby is a...well, you know...Plus Samsung isn't all that seamless and their upgrades are not seamless. So why not try a Moto? Ok, well I was a wee but nervous about buying a brand that is not part of the "In Crowd", but heck maybe it's good to live in the margins sometimes? Just got my new Razr + today so I reserve the right to review all shenanigans upon further inspection.
I have painfully missed 2 months but man how these flip phones have evolved it's simply impressive. Instead of a tower you should have tried a valley I very much would love to see what the result would have been. Great review love how the AI made you look like Scott Adkines at the end.👌👍👌
Both are good phones but I would choose Samsung Flip 6 and I still keep my original Motorola Razr. Your "lighthouse" drawing made me and I wonder why Btw, what's the name of the game you were playing in the video?
I've been waiting for this specific comparison on TH-cam, as I already had done the same in my head. And is it only me or Samsung has made these models look more like toys. I mean where's the premium look??? That boxy shape is a big nay for me. Motorola actually puts the Samsung Flip 6 to shame in terms of that outer screen design... If I could afford, I'd have gone for the Motorola only because of it's outer screen real estate and design. Kudos to Motorola engineering 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Be glad you cannot afford!! I saved up for months for my RAZR 2023….but it turned out to be terrible !! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MOTOROLA! My RAZR 2023 broke within three weeks and then was completely done in three months! It is a very COMMON OCCURENCE! Do not give them ur money!
I'd say for me the dust and better water protection is a big deal. Especially if you're at places like the beach. Plus Samsung's solid build quality. It's a tough choice. Faster charging vs better IP rating. Bigger front screen vs better glass protection on the Flip. Slightly smaller form factor vs more stylish. Better faster more consistent software supports vs who knows.
@@Beammeupscotty-w5x Samsung flip outer screen is smaller than that of Motorola Razor's. What I mean to say is, Samsung could've done better. I use S23 and would have loved to see the Samsung Flip to be the only crown bearer in terms of screen real estate.
I wish DeX would be available as well. However, as time goes on, this feature is in a similar state as iPadOS. There is not any desktop apps to take advantage of it.
Still the better deal. Comes with flagship TWS, case and the charger. Also has telephoto over ultrawide. Only con is the performance on the moto but flip phones still aren't meant for gaming even though the Flip 6 has a cooling chamber. The moto is the better flip IMO
I got the regular Razr 50 ordered yesterday!!! Tmobile had a deal on it for $500!!! So I will be getting mine in about a week. Upgrade from Galaxy Z Flip 4
Dude @techspurt the whole point of you doing a review is to hear your expert opinion on which phone is the best, NOT to create neutral ads for both phones and ask for us to tell you what you think. Do you remember that we don't have the ability to have either phone at this point. Switch on the lights please
But it's not a review, it's a comparison. You should be able to make up your own mind for yourself. Why do you need someone to tell you what phone to get? Are you 5?
@mehshutup3041 i could care less about OS overhauls i had the flip for several gens and the updates kept breaking paid for themes / packs with no refunds. Just as long as its stable and snappy they can take their time with OS swaps.
I also bought the razr 50 ultra & returned it. Because the overall software package on the Samsung phones definitly beats the razr. No AOD on the inner screen, still no google assistant when the phone is closed and some other software issues. Build quality ist fantastic on the razr but thats all. (for me).
Why the people who do review didn't mention the warranty? Motorola loses all credibility. The Motorola is a cell phone that you have to restrict yourself from using for fear of damaging it, the best thing to do is NOT BUY. The cost of repairing the interior screen was $250.00, the total price of the phone was $180, I have paid around $500 for insurance. ($15.00 monthly) In conclusion, I canceled the cell phone insurance, since the repair is more expensive than the total cost of the cell phone, now I have a cell phone that I do not use, with payments of $5.00 monthly.
On these kind of prices software and feature are more important than hardware. And on this aspect Samsung is constantly ahead, very ahead. Competitors like Motorola or OnePlus have great hardware sometimes better than Samsung's, but when it comes to software they all fall flat on their face, especially with those 7 years of updates
@@jeffwoodard yes but the second hand market is still extremely important and very big, just look at the custom rom community. Keeping your products value high is a great play, because many consumers only buy second hand, and you want those to buy Samsung too. And those who upgrade every year also get the impression that the product is better taken care of by the brand, and less anxiety on losing updates. These 7 year support phones are kinda killing some need for custom roms (there are other reasons to do it anyway, but I myself stopped doing custom roms recently because of how good OneUI stock is).
If I had to go for a foldable, then I'll go for the flip because of the camera and because of One Ui. But I don't really see my self going for a phone that has a flexible screen in the foreseeable future.
I’m ordered my Koala Grey Razr 50 last night for about $500 at Tmobile no deal. I’m excited. I think it was a typo and it’s almost $500 cheaper than both these phones with almost the same experience!!!
Motorola puts a lot of little touches that makes the user experience a lot better and those touches rarely get covered by media. They don't just install stock android and are done. For example on my pixel 7a if you have a lot of apps to close you have to scroll to the end of the list to close but you can't tell if there are a lot of apps beforehand so you often have to do a lot of swipes. But on the Motorola the close all is at the beginning. When you're taking photos with the outside cameras everyone cam see themselves in the frame so it's easy to shoot. Plus even in timer mode it can take multiple shots based on action and other things.
Companies like Apple usually have Samsung and LG make screens for all their products anyways. Everyone's got a "Samsung screen" if you think about it lol

I have the Razr + 2023 and love it! The new one looks amazing especially with all the upgrades and improvements. Unfortunately since I just got the 2023 only 5 months ago I will have to wait until the 2025 model. Lol
I prefer the Samsung flip also that gloss finish 😍
id go moto because i prefer stock android, it runs everything on the front screen out of the box, i like the leather back as opposed to glass, and its easier to open one handed.
Already ordered the Motorola Razr plus! I have both the razor plus 2023 and the z flip 5. Motorola definitely beats Samsung on the flip! Looking forward to the Razr plus 2024!

@@GTArajgaming no it's the snapdragon 8s gen 3. A slight weaker version of the 8 Gen 3. Also if u like gaming the z flip 6 has a much better cooling chamber to keep it from overheating. And better cameras are in the z flip 6. Keep all that in mind.

More of the standard Moto Razr 50 please. Much cheaper and still looks great, but a comparison with all 3 would be terrific
Its cheaper cuz it performs below standaeds
I’m going to get a phone soon, and I really want a flip phone, so I’m doing a bit of research… I’m excited!
I've been using Motorola all my life since the Motorola razr in 2004
I am still thinking about either or. Having a Samsung since the Note 2 came out dont know how I will handle the Moto. Still, I like the Moto better, but seeing comment about updates and stuff has me a bit worried. Will probably wait for the full review on the Flip 6 and will decide then. Cheers for the review, buddy!
Had my razr 50 ultra a few weeks now and love it. Seen what Samsung has to offer and glad I went for the razr ultra
The samsung one is just better in terms of power and expecting the hinge to last more than 1.5 years.
That Bixby assistant with we all "love" 👀
suuuuuuuureeeeee we do uncle spurt, we all love Bixby (zfold 2 user here)
Great review - very helpful and informative. Thank you!! Like the Moto - finally something new in phone innovation.
Cheers!
Thank god for this video, doubt many other TH-camrs would do such a good comparison like uncle spurt
With trade in on the ZFlip 6 from a 5 were so slow, Moto may be my next phone to try in the US. Battery and function are the most important so it's the first to under 300 for me to upgrade
I miss having a headphone jack, SD card slot, IR blaster and heartrate sensor that the pre-5g Samsung phones had...
They got that profit-first mentality and started removing features, charger. Driving up prices. Because they think they'll get away with it. They have a loyal base already and brand identity, so no need to innovate or be customer first.
Calm down there is more to come, battery, price, repairablity price, green line many more

So do many others. You would think according to the laws of demand and supply we would have these basic features in new phones. Especially the more expensive ones.

Do it. And then do the comparison for yourself.
Yes the video I was looking for!🎉

Would definitely take the Samsung out of the 2, but won't be changing this year - the 6 doesn't seem a big enough upgrade over my Flip 5. Samsung usually offer really good upgrade deals but this time feels less generous...

Preordered my MOTO Razr + and I'm hype! I'm coming from a Samsung A52 5g. Hopefully I dont miss the Samsung apps too much. But judging by your review, the flip 6 is better?
The video didn't say that, it's a comparison
I also ordered the moto razr+ I'm genuinely excited. I compared both in the store and the flip is definitely not a better choice. The hinge is really difficult to open sometimes. The moto seems pretty smooth.
You’re great at comprehension. He said it without saying it. Especially when be iterates that he has not had much time with the Zflip before filming this.
Isnt the ultra better @ziek3012
It's good to see if other companies release globally like Samsung but fortunate they're not popular like samsung or apple and still other people mocking android unless you're using Samsung or maybe pixel devices.
Have to go with the moto on this one, I seriously cant stand the samsung bloatware and interface
How do you feel about your Razr now after a few months? 😊
@@jennyj1348 Still adore it! Best.phone.ever!
I'm a Samsung fan but you just cannot beat Motorola when it comes to flip phones... They pioneered them after all

I have painfully missed 2 months but man how these flip phones have evolved it's simply impressive. Instead of a tower you should have tried a valley I very much would love to see what the result would have been. Great review love how the AI made you look like Scott Adkines at the end.👌👍👌
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't the Flip 6 have 50MP camera, which would automatically allow for 2x lossless zoom?
Absolutely it does. 2x lossless in sensor zoom. No need for optical at that zoom range.

Still the better deal. Comes with flagship TWS, case and the charger. Also has telephoto over ultrawide. Only con is the performance on the moto but flip phones still aren't meant for gaming even though the Flip 6 has a cooling chamber. The moto is the better flip IMO

Do you remember that we don't have the ability to have either phone at this point. Switch on the lights please
But it's not a review, it's a comparison. You should be able to make up your own mind for yourself. Why do you need someone to tell you what phone to get? Are you 5?

In terms of design, Motorola cannot be compared to Galaxy. Of course, if the price solves everything, you can buy Motorola.
Reading the comments rather than listening to the video. I don't like comparison video's and I do love the razr
I tried to give samsung a chance and waited for their presentation to see what theyre bringing to the table.

See you next year, bought last year's razr and the experience is soooo bad it's like having one of those cheap chinese phone. No update at all
@mehshutup3041 i could care less about OS overhauls i had the flip for several gens and the updates kept breaking paid for themes / packs with no refunds.

I agree... But 7 years of updates is really only going to matter on the second hand market. Since most folks upgrade every 2-3 years anyway.
These 7 year support phones are kinda killing some need for custom roms (there are other reasons to do it anyway, but I myself stopped doing custom roms recently because of how good OneUI stock is).
where do you get those awesome wallpapers
putting a 60hz in the outer display makes the user experience not so good. You will notice that change in smoothness

Let's be honest. it's either Samsung or Apple - everything else people look down on as cheap.

It's all ur needs...
Look upto ur need
If I had to go for a foldable, then I'll go for the flip because of the camera and because of One Ui. But I don't really see my self going for a phone that has a flexible screen in the foreseeable future.
10:27 ..Bet no one saw that coming!!
Look u don't gotta be a dick about it.....
The reason I run videos on my outside screen is to save battery when I'm just listening to the content and don't really need to look at it.
Razor looks better but has no ultra wide camera on the + and samsung gives more storage at 512
They traded for the zoom (I prefer the wide tho)
Well I prefer the the razor cover screen more, I don't really mind that it doesn't have wide cemera
Moto only has one Storage option and that is 512GB, atleast outside of India

Motorola puts a lot of little touches that makes the user experience a lot better and those touches rarely get covered by media. They don't just install stock android and are done. For example on my pixel 7a if you have a lot of apps to close you have to scroll to the end of the list to close but you can't tell if there are a lot of apps beforehand so you often have to do a lot of swipes. But on the Motorola the close all is at the beginning. When you're taking photos with the outside cameras everyone cam see themselves in the frame so it's easy to shoot. Plus even in timer mode it can take multiple shots based on action and other things.
No one can get a samsung display on a non samsung display by "messing around with the settings." You want the best display, you get a Samsung
Companies like Apple usually have Samsung and LG make screens for all their products anyways. Everyone's got a "Samsung screen" if you think about it lol
Thanks for your review!
