You don't need to distort the screen for Queen videos, they are happy to have their music shared and enjoyed. It's Brian May and Roger Taylor singing backup. Roger is the one who can sing notes so high only dogs can hear them.
I was going to comment on Roger, as well, since Shon mentioned his vocal contribution and how much these "little" sounds mattered. Queen, and other high-end bands of the 70's/80's, had to have more than one "special talent" to really become an arena headliner. Queen had four. All four were writers and wrote big hit songs for Queen.
Under Pressure live from Wembley, and The Show Must Go On. Unfortunately there is no live version of the latter, since he was so sick. But he KILLED the vocals!
Dr Brian May's hair is real. He's not only one of, if not the best, guitar players in rock history, He's also an astrophysicist, who helped send a mission to MARS..
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER FREDDIE MERCURY!! AND ROGER BANGING ON THE DRUMS HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE, THEY ALL DID!! THEY ALL PLAYED, WROTE, AND SANG MUSIC!!..ENJOY!
Rip freddie. Best front man that ever was. I'd like to think he's upstairs now jamming with Eddie van halen and Hendrix and singing with Michael jackson.
Yay! This is the best live performance ever! I was in the center in the 8th row at this very concert! Could Freddie sing or what?? Great reaction, Shon. Thanks for doing this one. It brought back wonderful memories for me.
Damn, I’m jealous! I’m 29 now but I remember listening to Queen, as a kid and being told Freddie, wasn’t with us anymore. It felt like he had just died in the early 2000s 😣 I can’t imagine how hard the news must have hit you when it happened! Every time a young person finds this band in any decade and reacts like this, Freddie’s still alive 🥰❤️
@@blackfairyxdusy One of the best concert I ever went to. Spent my 24th birthday there. Sadly, Freddie also died on my B-day exactly to the date, 10 years later. I light a candle every 24 of Nov and play his song, "Who Wants to LIve Forever"
@@myowndrum286 I’ve seen so many of my favourite artists live and I still can’t even begin to imagine how incredible the energy was on that day! That’s beautiful. @@blackfairyxdusyagreed. He burned bright and I can’t imagine the joy he’d be bringing us now if HIV wasn’t so stigmatized. 😢 his talent and legacy lives on through all of us. My forever 32 year old and I thought Freddie was one of the best vocalists, and the best front man, ever! I feel so blessed to have grown up on Queen's music.
Next is the best rock performance of all time queen live aid 1985... They will shock for the performance the crowd control and most of all you will hear songs that I am certain you grew up with but just didn't know it was queen
Back in about 1976 my sister turned me on to Queen and I thought I was listening to a large choir. I couldn't believe that there was just these few guys. I was poleaxed.
I get the silly giggles when younger people hear Queen. I'm as excited as you! Your reaction was awesome. ❤️ I've listened to so much Queen in my day one of my favorite songs is Delilah. It's about his cat. Lol. No one does reaction video to that one but seriously it's a great song.
when you think this is over 40 yrs ago it still sounds so good today as it did back then and Roger [drums] backing vocals really makes this something very special
As a huge Queen fan, I absolutely love your reactions here! Queen is the best band in music history bar none. Freddie Mercury as a frontman is what he was born for. Trust me, if you loved this there's tons of live songs you'll love as much or maybe more.
Bro ur perspective on the song is AMAZING. I was always weirded out by how upbeat the song sounded despite the sad lyrics. I never thought of it as a guy whos going crazy being lonely and wanting to find Somebody to Love.
I think you're referencing the part when Roger (drummer) takes over the lead vocals so that Freddie (lead singer) gets to play with all the whoops hollars and sounds he makes near the end. It's Freddie's play time. A favorite spot is that ooooohhhhh moment. The shape of his mouth I can't tell if the sound is produced going out or going in. He's a master!!! Roger is also superb with backing vocals WHILE playing the drums and being interchangeable lead/backing ... together providing fullness and depth. Should see *In The Lap of the Gods* live at the Rainbow 1974 (for Roger's crazy sound) and live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 for my absolute favorite of that song performance with Freddie at the piano (avoiding the mic with his head bobs) - delicious !!!!!!
I agree completely, Freddie, just superb!! Lead singer, pianist, guitarist/songwriter!! Also the rest of the band also had songs of their own for Queen, which was superb. John Deacon, bass guitarist (blue t-shirt & blue pants), Brian May, lead guitarist & Roger Taylor, drummer & backing singer. Fabulous band. I was 18 yrs old in1978. This particular song was in 1981 & just simply adored it. Sadly I never got the chance to see them, yet I lived in the UK at the time!! xx
This is an unbelievable performance and it is LIVE!! Only Freddie could pull this off and with Roger as his duet singer, the song is powerful and engaging. Queen has so many great songs and performances but for you to see how great the band is musically, I suggest Queen: White Queen, live at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975. There is an almost 2 minute instrumental section in that song where you get the opportunity to hear how tight and skilled each member of this band truly is. Freddie's vocals on that song are amazing, too. That show was on Christmas Eve and the song starts out with Freddie holding a glass of champagne after toasting the audience and wishing them a Merry Christmas. This is Freddie's gospel song and his tribute to Aretha Franklin who he really admired. Unfortunately, he never got the opportunity to sing with her. Thank you for your great reaction, you made me smile.
Yayyyyy!! Love Queen!! Freddie penned this song and is widely reputed to have been his favorite song he ever wrote! The lyrics are about a man calling out to God, asking why he works so hard but can’t find love. Ultimately, finds hope & decides not to be defeated. 💘👀 Also watch FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS live in Milton Keynes 1982. 🔥🔥
The lead singer is Freddie Mercury. He is pure magic on the stage and has amazing vocals. It's funny, when I was young I didn't care for much of Queen's music. I was more into the Motown sound and pre Motown and didn't care for the rock bands Now that I'm in my 70's and listening to reaction channels, I'm discovering the music of my youth and really enjoying most of it. So, that said, it's a delight for me to watch young people discover this music, be surprised at how good it is, want to hear more and listen to their reactions. For me, it's like hearing the music for the first time through my own ears. I'm actually excited to really listen to the words and music instead of just hearing it. Your facial reactions are great. You have a beautiful smile and I can see the joy you feel in experiencing a new old song for the first time, and how you are picking up on the nuances of the music. Keep on doing what you are doing and I will keep on watching. Thank you. P.S. If you want to know more about Freddie Mercury and Queen there was a movie about them that came out a couple of years ago....Bohemian Rhapsody....named after their mega hit o of the same name. It will give you what you need to know about them.
I love Queen and loved the BoRhap movie but I’ve been a dedicated Queen fan since the early ‘70’s, and there is a heck of a lot of inaccurate stuff in that movie. So watch it to enjoy it, but just know that they took a lot of “artistic license” with the facts.
Saw them in 1980, love your reaction. I'm 63 years old. Please check out Stevie Ray Vaughn playing Texas Flood live at the El Macombo! I was back stage! You won't be disappointed, promise! Best guitarist I have ever seen and geard!
They should've told you to wear a seat belt while listening to this one! This is one of Freddie's favorite songs and was written with inspiration from Aretha Franklin! I truly enjoyed your reaction, keep them coming! 👍 PS. I think you're ready to hear " White Queen " Odeon, Hammersmith 1975 Yep, Queen have rocking since the early 70s 😊
WE WILL ROCK YOU, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST if you heard these songs then you've heard QUEEN without knowing it...their music is in movies, t.v.shows, sports and commercials
The ‘background noise’ is Roger Taylor the drummer. You commented in BRaP about the high voice in the opera section… same guy!! And no, that’s not a wig.. Freddie had a very nice head off hair (and ‘stash’)!! Your next adventure with Queen should be their Live Aid (live) performance. It’s where you’ll be saying ‘I’ve heard that somewhere’ often. Great reaction.. I subscribed so I can enjoy your Queen ‘ride’!
Very cool reaction! Some other Queen songs that are really outstanding are: Save Me , 1981 Montreal live, White queen live in 1976, Love of my life at rock in Rio (300k audience). I never get tired of queen because they are so damn good!
By listening to Aretha Franklin's records Freddie taught himself the phrasing, by admiring to Jimi Hendrix he taught hismelf to play the guitar, he was a very gifted self made man with full of passion who had been always craving for The Love and for an ongoing, long lasting relationship. Pls, check out the White Queen at Hammersmith 75.
"We Wil Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" are a must! You WILL know both of them. Lots of Queen songs are played by all sorts of folk, movies, commercials, SPORTING EVENTS (which is where you heard these two, bet!)... Also would love to see you react to Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son", really think you will be about it, straight 🔥!

Don't forget to check out the other songs at Montreal like( save me) and ( you're my best friend) and I'm really looking forward to reacting to Wembley 86( One Vision) and( Another One Bites the Dust) etc
This is the second queen reaction I've seen you do.i'm loving your reaction so far. Others have prob commented but I'd like to recommend green day crowd sing bohemian rhapsody at Hyde park London 2017. Freddie Mercury passed in 91 so 26 yrs later green day fans different ages, from different countries some of whom weren't born when Freddie was alive knew every part of that song.also the song rentered the US charts when it was used in movie Wayne's world and got to no2 .you should check it out for a laugh.the scene is in a car 3.30 long. There was a tribute concert for Freddie Mercury in 92 George Michael did this song you should check it out.don't know if you've reacted to George Michael yet?
You can't go wrong with Fred and Queen ... and I am happy for you, that you have a huge catalouge to discover! And be sure: They had so many hits and great - which are still around - that you might know the one or the other song for sure! Do you know where the "stomp-stomp-clap" in the stadiums comes from? If you are not living under a rock, you might know their "We Will Rock You" song, which is always played before their "We Are The Champions" song! :) Pretty sure, you've heard those song before!
Don’t confine yourself to Queen’s most popular music. So many lesser known gems that demonstrate the band’s, especially Freddie’s incredible diversity. Opera: “Barcelona” duet with famous diva, Montserrat Caballe. English Music Halls style: “Seaside Rendezvous”. No instruments. Roger & Freddie used their voices and Roger’s fingernails on the sound board. Blues: “My Melancholy Blues.” Freddie and Brian closed the Live Aid Concert with, “Is This the World We Created.” Just Freddie’s vocals and Brian’s guitar. Heartbreaking. Enjoy your trip down the Queen rabbit hole!
Queen is a top 10 of all time band! Freddy Mercury is in a league of his own! Brian Mays is a literal genuis on guitar, with a unique sound. All four of them come together in such a way that it leaves you begging for more! Can never go wrong with Queen! 🎙🎶👑 For a fun Queen song, check out Fat Bottom Girls...😋
Queen are superb live, which I've seen them twice, awesome.their vocals are 2nd to none. Roger Taylor hits the high notes whilst playing the drums,Sir Brian May on lead guitar is amazing & unique. John Deacon is brilliant on bass. This is q of the greatest live shows. Their live aid set in 1985 was the best.
You definitely will be going down the rabbit hole with Queen - your enthusiasm shows that. Their music catalogue is huge and I will say their live versions of songs are excellent, as you've just seen. No autotune, no ear buds, just raw talent. Check out a live versions of "Stone Cold Crazy" from Live at the Rainbow, 1974 and "Sheer Heart Attack" from Live at the Bowl,1982. Enjoy !!!
First-time watcher. That was one fabulous review. I have never enjoyed a reaction as much. Your excitement was infectious. I liked how there kept being more.
Appreciation for you young people learning and loving this music just like we did. I'm 67. Imagine hearing a great rock or R&B song for the first time. And then learning the lyrics❤
And that's live!! Freddy Mercury was amazing!! one of the all time great vocalists and just cool as hell front men! and the entire band was just awesome too. I believe 3 of them have their PhD! You should watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the story of Queen and Freddy Mercury. it's awesome!! :D
The energy from Queen and the energy for you was fantastic. I was feeling sleepy when I started watching but hey man I'm wide awake now! Thank you Shon
Don’t forget the live aid concert at Wembley in London in 1985; it was watched by 2 million people around the world live, and Quinn stole the whole show!
Thanks, Shon - this is widely known as one of their best live performances... this just not "Freddie" - check out the rest of the band... Roger & Brian on vocals... John slappin' da bass, mon... and of course, Brian on that guitar! this was a whole BAND.. I'm so glad you heard it! (p.s. inspired by Aretha... the gospel sound/ call-backs, etc...)
Yep that's Queen. Have you seen the live aid performance? Also the Freddie Mercury tribute what beautiful perfect heartwarming astonishing. Also Slash and Brian May on the same stage look like a big-haired father-son musical reunion LOL. You do know who Slash is right?🎸🎸🎸
"What instrument do you play?" Freddie: "The audience".
Superman appreciated that Freddie wore his shirt... that is how great he was.
It’s got one of the best endings with all the harmonies. It’s perfection.

Roger Taylor's drumming and background vocals are epic.

Freddie was such a great vocalist, so talented with the piano and a real showman ! May he RIP !😊🙏✌👍💎🎶
Don’t forget the live aid concert at Wembley in London in 1985; it was watched by 2 million people around the world live, and Quinn stole the whole show!
You just found the greatest group of talented humans ever to grace earth.❤️❤️
Freddie Mercury is arguably the greatest rock singer of all time. He even had the ability to sing in harmonics.
I Love you're enthusiasm and passion for the Legend's.
Love your energy!
This is one of their best. If you want something different, check out 39 or Black Queen or Ogre Battle, from the really obscure Queen collection
RIP..... WE LOVE YOU FREDDY,,,, miss your music.
The first band I fell in love with as a 5 year old kid. Freddie really was something else.
Thank you for your reaction. note! They are not left-handed so you must turn the picture. - - view 'Save me' from the same concert.
Yes you ha have it,,that so powerful,,what a great time it was 70/1980 love your passion for music,,imagine living without music 🎶 🎼👍😉
Queen can make you happy Queen can make you cry. Queen are for everyone, no need to ask why.
You do know who Slash is right?🎸🎸🎸
Roger's drums and singing backup at the same time gives me chills!
P.S. That was beer, not water.
that wasnt beer either hun it was lemon tea (freddie reacted with burps on beer so he wouldnt want that on stage he said )😄
How do like our Queen 😂 Freddie Mercury lead singer, Roger Taylor drums backup singer, John Deacon bass, Sir Dr. Brian May guitar.
It was that great! Take it from someone who saw them on this tour.
Madison Square Garden, September 1980.
Insightful, as always - thanks!
I love when young peopke fall into " my generation" music and get it ! ENJOY. .
Freddie Mercury lead vocal, Sir brian may on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and john Deacon on base.
