What exactly are they bulldozing at the landmark facility? I just wanted to match what Dave Umahi, the Works Minister said on TVC. Chanel's and Arise TV Channels. He said exactly that no part of the Landmark's structures will be demolished.

Nigeria continues to do the same thing over and over. No generation learns from the past. Every generation wants to showcase their own mumuness. The major problem of the country is power /electricity and no one is going there. There are more bad roads than good ones and they don't want to tackle that one.

The real truth is that Eko Atlantic Company wants to expand its land area by acquiring the frontal coastline of that area of lagos to make a new and bigger Ako atlantaic City. But they want the Federal Government to pay expensively for it. The Contruction is done by a subsidiary company owned by the same owners of Eko Atlantic City called Hitech Construction. And this is a No bid Construction Contract. If this is not a conflict of interest tell the Nigerian people what it is. In a Country that has Checks and balances and rule of Law , the people that awarded this huge project to this Construction Company should be investigated and if found guilty should go to jail for defrauding the Nigerian people. It is important to note that Nigeria is a country with no adequate electicty, No good infrastructure, including bad and neglected road net work, no good drinking water supply, no heaith care, no adequate security and long lines at gas stations because of fuel scarcity. Nigerians are always told to sacrifice and suffer for the Country yet the government could borrow huge sum of money with high interest rate for a Luxury and uninhabited area of coastal highway Construction and demolitions.

We are very antagonistic of any move by the Government becos of political affiliations not because we are interested in the landmark business. The land by the law of the land is on R.O.W and a logical business should not have invested knowing fully well the implication of this. The road to Calabar will open up Nigeria to easy movement of goods and raw materials in the country increasing the aggregate output and greater export opportunity. Also note that we infrastructural deficit that even if we dedicate 50% of our budget consistently for 40years we cannot attain. This administration has taken a leap and we are complaining. The first plan is lagos to calabar and then calabar to borne.Lastly, Lagos to Sokoto.Almost all states will be accessible easily unlike what we have now.Rufai use every opportunity to discourage investors from coming becos of selfish interest. If you truth to yourself, will they be compensated. The conversation should be to engage the minister on the people that may lose their jobs but not on making anti Nigeria comment. If you tired you can go to your chosen country and keep your reality to your pocket cos all ur action here and your personal space are bias and very subjective.I have always believed Nigeria will be great.

The demolition of properties is not good but the people shouldn't build properties without due approvals the minister said inspite of the illegalities of the structure they are going to compensate the people affected. The media is to bring awareness to the people instead of supporting illegalities and raising alarms over issues. Please stick to the broadcasting ethics to inform, educate and entertain instead of getting emotional with public issues.

Incidentally, I watched the interview of arise with Minister Umahi and I think Rufai should go and watch the clip. Two things stood out on Rufai’s discourse; 1. He said the minister said the contract was awarded to Hightech because they were the only one that could do the road. This is not true. The minister said the contract was awarded to Hightech because they were the only company that has shown competence in concrete workss that can be seen and verified to have been successful.
    2. Rufai also said that the minister did not have the cost of the total road project. This is also false because the Minister said they have the total cost of the road project and he stated it. What he said was that they didn’t have the cost of the rail project and were still working on it but it is only the road they are considering now. They are only creating a corridor for the rail project for a future date.
I also do not understand his opposition to this project. Our country lacks a lot of critical infrastructure and anyone being built is a plus for the country.
