We truly deserve the conditions we suffer in this country. In all the 16 comments on this broadcast nobody commented on the abuse this defenseless lady was receiving from these backward thinking individuals flogging her. It goes to sure how unconcerned we're about equity and justice in our part of the world. No wonder we keep getting evil leaders because we ourselves are evil. So much for our Christian eastern part of Nigeria. Shameful! SMH

The humiliation of the widow is deplorable😱☹️😡😤. It was in this part of the country that twins used to be slaughtered. Thankfully, this no longer takes place. Mary slessor, a 19th century missionary was instrumental in the eradication of what was at the time a deeply entrenched and widely engrained social ill. What are the 21st century religious leaders in Nigeria doing today to eradicate this still widely held highly abominable traditional habitude?

No one has heard Reuben Abati issue a high-throated croaking, against the Nigerian Law Enforcement, concerning their abysmal excesses, even when they are shooting up a whole village, killing armless and harmless men and women as well as children. Constantly referring to the United States, is quite appalling. They have and, practice democracy. What we have here, is dystopia. No American Police Officer would, unnecessarily harass any civilian or ask them for money. Constantly justifying and extenuating such evil acts, is barbaric, in itself. Rufai, you remain stupendous! In my book!

ASUU members have remained resolute in this struggle in the face of hunger, provocation, intimidation and frustration meted to them by the ruling class. I feel the pains of these members who are unable to feed their families and buy drugs for sick members of their families because their salaries were withheld. Some might have even lost their dear ones because there was no money to buy drugs or take them to the hospital when they were sick or ill. This is wickedness in the extreme! They have struggled this far and I see light at the end of the tunnel. The beginning and the end of every struggle are usually very tough. "No Work, No Pay" is a strategy that Government has used very often and they have always failed and they will also fail this time around. The University system is different. What about the unfinished lectures, laboratory and studio practical, and the grading of the completed ones and examination scripts? Who will collate, compile and transmit those results for Senate to approve? Where are the Senates of the universities that will approve those results? What about the two batches of JAMB students awaiting post-UTME screening to be admitted into the various universities? Who will screen them? Where are the Admissions Committees of the various universities to consider consider those JAMBites' results for admission into the universities? There are other questions that are pertinent. I know our students, some of whom are our children and wards, will not like to lose an academic session. So they have to clear the backlog, also continue to insist on the deployment of UTAS and proper funding of universities. ASUU is not selfish in their demands. Thank God, our dear students and the general public know. Government should also understand this. So concerning their withheld salaries, on "No Pay, No Work" they stand.
    Solidarity for ever!
    Mutatis mutandis!!

Just last week the Nigerian police crossed my wife car and accused her of taking BRT lane which is the truth but she took the lane because a Danfo (Commercial bus) broke down right in the service lane and after just fifteen minutes traffick was gradually building with no help in sight so everyone dicided to reverse and take the BRT lane and eventually join the service lane but what happened next was just a show of how barbaric the Nigerian police have long become. The Nigerian police crossed her car down with another danfo and began asking her for keys and also showed her a picture of when she just turn in to the BRT lane. My wife protest that if they had been waiting there to take pictures of her using the BRT lane then they should be aware of why she and others did so but she also asked why did they not assist? Well they told her and some car owners that they should have waited for a LASTMA official to direct them even though she has been waiting there for almost thirty minutes or so. Long story short she was asked to pay 60 thousand to a private account but my wife refused (She believe in the system, bless her heart) and she and some car owners where taken to a mobile court in which they were told to now pay 50 thousand naira. This is the racketeering that is happening between the Lagos state government and unsuspecting drivers. Be warned " Police is not your friend." If you see a Nigerian police ask for help you better jaapa.

@@outlyfe7570 alright there Dick........Tracy. if it was in the US people won't have been left alone for that long to their devices with no solution in sight. The law does not exist in a vacuum and in Nigeria, the law is for the nobodies but if you're high up on the political ladder you can break as many law as you want. With that said you read the part where there were actual police there hiding in plain sight and not helping. News flash buddy no help came that day and it was cookies and honey for the Nigerian police cause the story is that a lot of money was made by this guys now you made a big big mistake by comparing Nigeria to America and this is indicative of an elitist mentality. You probably work for either the lagos state government or you're not even living this country to have made such belligerent and apathetic comment. The wife of Abia State Governor and the department of women affairs should have been on top of this matter by now. It is ridiculous that things like this are still happening. Few months ago, a man died in Anambra while making love to his own wife and the community stripped her naked and paraded her on the street. What wrong have these women done? Should the Anambra woman refuse her husband the pleasures of her body or is there any proof that the one from Abia killed her husband or even involved in any act that could kill or maim?

Nigerians are so religious. Pastor Jerry is leveraging on that so well. I wish we all translate our religiousity into humanity. I will not be surprised if some of those beating that poor woman also claim to know God.

How do you mean 4 Nigerians fighting police officers?
Are the police officers not Nigerians?

The issue is not barbaric; the issue is a fair hearing.
The accused/lady should be listened to.

Even in the midst of bad news, horrible events and Nigerian fractured economy, we can look at Cachi and smile. A terrific beauty, academically and intelligently sound. Cachi is a veritable example of what female children should be or aspire to be. A possitve model for the youth especially the young female folks. Take a bow Cachi.
And to everyone who partook in the dehumanising of that widow for whatever reason, may God forgive you because you can't stand His wrought.

In as much as we feel bad for the brutality and dehumanising treatment metted out to the alleged witch-widow, the question is: how could it be that the entire community would rise against the woman in one accord?

May the woman be covered with the blood of Jesus Christ. Let the police keep her human rights protected.

This is unbelivable, inhuman, satanic. How can a human handle his or her fellow humanbeing in this Männer. Infact there is no argument whatsoever to justify this. Those perpetrators should be treated the same way so that they know how it feels. Animals.
