As far as I know, You have to mark the existing bolt on position of the csb on the chassis prior to removing it. so you bolt on the replacement csb to the same location. In my case it is not possible since I'm using a mix of parts from n54 and e46m3 on a non m chassis.
I don't think you should have a play where the bearing connects to the rod (inner bearing). However the center part of the bearing is made out off rubber so you should have some flex in it.

Should there be any play around the bearing? Mine shows a gap and I can push it up and down?
