On-Grid and Off-Grid Rooftop Solar System for the Home .

- On grid solar , Off grid solar and Hybrid solar are three popular topologies in the Rooftop Solar PV Systems.
Here, in this site we have installed solar panels in all the three topologies. This is a Site located in JP Nagar, Bangalore .
The system is designed such that all the critical loads are exclusively serviced 365 days by the off grid solar PV system . The off grid system consists of 8 solar panels of 450 Watt each connected to a 4 KW off grid/ Hybrid Inverter.
The On-grid solar system consists of 14 panels of 450 watt peak each . The On grid Solar system helps in reducing the electricity bill for the house. In this particular case , the electricity bill is negative.
The combined capacity of solar modules for this building is (6.3 + 3.6) = 9.9 KW.
The 6.3 KW On-grid is catering to the non critical loads and pushing the excess energy to the grid. Since the On-Grid system cannot give any back up and cannot store energy, an exclusive 3.6 KW solar panels are installed which is catering to all the critical applications 24 x 7

As always, a good informative video. Why was the rooftop structure size height so low? It would have been far more convenient to have it greater than 7 feet like elsewhere.
Taller structures would not have looked good. Also for this site, tall structure was not required.
ez panel cleaning, cost, resiliance seem to be some issues I could think of
Height is left to our requirement.
I would seriously suggest a ballast weight.
High chance of movement and worst case ,panels flying away in a storm!!

Very good explanation for solar power system. Besides that how many panels for 5 kwts. How much area is required for different types of systems and how much cost to install in individual house having 3 portions with car parking area and 3 floors which need to get all connections in it. Say per house for 10 LED bulbs, 5 fans , refrigerator, 2 LED TV, induction stove, water purifier, geizer, water motor and lift. Kindly if some reply comes in each that will be very much appreciated. Atleast once a week reply may be given so that nowadays solar power is highly in demand for almost all own household. 13:43

12:37 a line on the instruction set pasted says to not use hard water, how many ppm would u consider hard water?
the water in my city is around 100-110 ppm (on my TDS meter), can I use this?
How do you connect solar panels with structure, is by fasteners or clamps? I see that you've put short rails for connection, just curious to know how the connect happens. Thanks in advance.
